Paper Players....Happy Birthday

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week on The Paper Players.
I have to say I struggled with this sketch and I put at least 3 tries into the recycle bin before finally getting this one to come together.

Here is the sketch:

I made my main element first, I stamped a few of the flowers from the Stampin Up Bloom with Hope Hostess set.
I stamped them with black stazon onto some white card stock.
I then colored with my aqua painter and ink pads.
I colored with Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Hello Honey, Wild Wasabi and Smokey Slate.
I stamped one image onto the oval that I had die cut out and colored it with Real Red and Wild Wasabi. I then cut out the other flowers I had painted and used some foam tape to add them to the oval piece. I used some twine to make a double bow and glued it to the stems of the flowers at the bottom of the oval.

The base of the card is Crumb Cake and then the next layer is white stamped with the Hardwood BG.
The flags are Crumb cake that I embossed with the random dot Ef.
The third flag is white and stamped with the Happy Birthday sentiment that is also in the Bloom with Hope stamp set.
Sometime during the process of making this card I smudge some black ink onto the top of the card and since I needed something up there to cover that and the fact that the sketch indicates something different on the top part of the card I came up with the idea of the doily.
I think it looks good there, so win win!!!
I added the flower oval to the base with some foam tape as well.
I finished it up with some tiny pearls at the base of the flowers and then I used my Wink of Stella pen to add some shimmer to the flowers.
Well, that is all from me, thanks for stopping by today!

Sweet Sunday.....A Little Birdie Told Me

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Here is the fab sketch for this week:

I pulled out this fun set that I have had for a bit and never inked up, it is called Hello Love by Stampin Up.

I stamped the bird arrow and sun and colored them up. I cut out the circle and the inverted scallop circle is Daffodil Delight card stock.

The base is Crumb Cake card stock and then a layer of Daffodil Delight and another layer of Crumb cake.
I embossed this piece with the retired Cloudy Day EF.
I added the circle element to the base with some foam tape. The little birdie is also cut our and popped up with foam tape.
The sentiment comes from the same set. I stamped with black ink and hand cut my flagged end.
I finished up the card with a few enamel dots.

Crazy 4 Challenges......You are my Sunshine

Happy Saturday Peeps!!
It is time for another new challenge over on the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog. I have a had a great time playing along with all the "Crazies" this month.
This is my last card as a guest designer.
The challenge this week is from Lynn and she states;

"Since today is world penguin day and
tomorrow is National Go Birding Day, let's create
a card or project with some type of bird as the
main focus".

I was thrilled with this challenge, I love birds and had gotten this new stamp from Wplus9 stamps called "A New Day"
I love it and had fun trying my hand at coloring.
I think it is a chickadee, that is how I colored it anyway.
I stamped the image onto some Rustic Cream cardstock and colored with my ink pads and water brush.

The sentiment on here is from the SU "Ray of Sunshine"
I matted the image with some Pool Party card stock.
The base of the card is Rustic Cream and then a layer of Pool Party and more Rustic cream the I embossed with the large dot EF.
I die cut a sun, (which is a lil inkers die) with some daffodil delight and added it in the corner of the main panel.
The bird panel is added to the base with some foam tape.
Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to head over to the
Crazy 4 Challenges Blog to see what the other girls did with this fun challenge.

Just Add Ink......Baby Bee

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card with you that I made using the sketch this week at Just Add Ink.

I am using another new stamp, new to me anyway, it is a single stamp called Baby Bumble Bee.
It is adorable! I will be needing a baby card soon, my niece is expecting and we just found out earlier this month that it is a boy.
I have been busy sewing up her some receiving blankets, I have 6 done so far and I think this card will go with them to her sometime soon.

The base of the card I Lost Lagoon card stock and then a layer of white.
The gingham DSP is from a retired pack, can't remember the name at the moment.
For the next layer I used white and another piece of Lost Lagoon card stock that I embossed with the honeycomb EF.

The main image is stamped onto white card stock with black stazon. I used my aqua painter and Lost Lagoon ink pad to color up the little bees stripes. I used some blush blossom and just a tad bit or red for the baby's face. I added a bit of smoky slate to the wings.
The center flag piece is made with some vellum,
The sentiment is from another retired stamp set called Short & Sweet. The little stars comes from the In Colors Sequin Assortment. I glued them on with some Multi Medium and then add a tiny pearl to the centers.

Freshly Made Sketches........Hello

Happy Thursday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week on

I pulled out a fave set, Stippled Blossoms, sadly this set is on the retiring list. Sorry to see it go, but I am hoping the new catalog will have a lot of new sets that I love, fingers crossed.
Yesterday Hubby and I spent some time going to some flea markets, which always gets my primitive bone fired up!
This time I was looking for garden inspiration, things to use and repurpose in my new flower garden that I am doing this year.
I have several ideas, we will see if my vision works out like I am hoping.
Anyway when I sit down to make my card I had gardening on my mind and my love for primitive as well
I wanted to make something to echo those thoughts.
Woodgrain Background and roses, what could be better?

The woodgrain BG is stamped on Crumb Cake card stock with Crumb Cake ink, I believe, This is a piece I had stamped when I had my friends BG stamp here, so that was easy.
The flowers are Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral ink, the leaves are Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi.
I attached the flowers to a white piece with some foam tape and then tucked the leaves around here and there. I matted this piece with some Early Espresso card stock.
My strips across the bottom are two sizes of more Early Espresso card stock,
I stamped the "hello" sentiment with versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder.
The sentiment is from the Hello December stamp set and I just masked off the December portion.
I finished it off with a few enamel dots.
Thanks for coming by today.

Power Poppy.....Birthday Greetings

Happy Monday Peeps!!

I am sharing a card I made using an awesome digi stamp from Power Poppy. I have long been an admirer of this fabulous company. They have what I LOVE the most, flowers, all Flowers all the time.
I finally took the leap and bought this amazing digi stamp. They release new digis every month and also have a line of clear stamps too.
I printed this out onto some Rustic Cream cardstock and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads.
I used Strawberry Slush, a bit of Blushing Bride, the leaves are Wild Wasabi and then I outlined with some Lost Lagoon. The branch is colored Chocolate Chip ink.

I kept it fairly simple just layering the main panel onto some Strawberry Slush card stock.
The base is more Rustic Cream cardstock.
The sentiment is from the SU Wetlands stamp set.
I added a few mini pearls to the flower centers of the open blooms.

also
I am adding this at the Seize the Birthday Challenge Blog.

Sweet Sunday......Amazing

Happy Sunday Peeps!!!

Here is the sweet sketch for this week:

I had fun with this one, I pulled out my SU Petite Petals stamp set and matching punch.
I stamped a bunch of flowers using some Strawberry Slush ink and punched them out.
The leaves are from a retired SU set called Blooming Marvelous, I think.
I used the MFT inside and out square dies for my center I used some white card stock and
stamped the sentiment from the Painted Petals set in black

I arranged my flowers around the side of the square and when I had them like I wanted, I laid down a strip of Wild Wasabi and then glued down the flowers, tucking the leaves in and around. I added a couple of more flowers over the base of some with some dimensionals.
I used some yellow rhinestones from my stash in the flower middles.
The base of the card is white and the DSP is from the Painted Petals paper pack.

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

A really great sketch for a large image like the one in the Stampin Up Indescribable Gift, I love this flower image, (I wish SU had more images for coloring like this).
I stamped the flower image with black stazon onto some PTI white card stock and colored with my water brush and ink pads.

I shaded around the image with Soft Sky ink. I used my white gel pen to dot the inside and my journaling pen for the outside dots.
The flower panel is matted with Calypso Coral card stock and glued to the white base.
The sentiment is from the Painted Petal stamp set and is stamped with Calypso Coral ink.

Crazy 4 Challenges....You're So Good For My Heart

Happy Saturday peeps!!

It is week two of me guest designing at Crazy 4 Challenges.

Since today is National Pet Day our challenge is to create a card or project using some type of pet as our inspiration.
I decide to use my fun new set from MFT by Birdie Brown called "You Have My Heart".
I love it.
I started by making my BG bricks. I used a stencil and modeling paste. After the paste dried I put the stencil back over the paste and sponged on some cherry cobbler ink.
Don't you love that look? So cool!

I then stamped a colored the girl and dog image. I fussy cut them out and added foam tape to the backs to mount.
I cut some "grass" with a die and added this across the bottom. I then added the girl and her dog.
The sentiment is embossed with white onto some cherry cobbler card stock. I added a button with some twine.
This is all mounted onto a base of Crumb Cake card stock.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure and head over to the

Sweet Sunday.......Birthday Wishes

Happy Sunday peeps!!!

It is time for a new sketch challenge at Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Here is our sketch this week:

I started out by making my flower panel. I used some watercolor paper and the Stampin Up Retired stamp set called Because I Care.
I love the flower in this set.
I inked up the flower and the leaves with my distress ink pads and the spritzed them lightly with some water before stamping onto my water color paper.
I then used some Vintage Photo distress ink to color around the flower. I was going for a vintage feel.

I tried several things for the sketch and was not happy with what I was coming up with. I finally decide to use some stamps to mimic the layers in the sketch.
I used the Butterfly Basics stamp set for both of the BG stamps.
The base of the card is Crumb cake and then a layer of Early Espresso and then the next layer is some Confetti Cream card stock. I die cut this layer with a MFT Blueprint dienamic.
I finished it up with a few enamel dots.

Crazy 4 Challenges Guest Designer.......Hello

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!

I am excited to announce that I am the guest designer for the month of April at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog
Lynn from The Queen;s Scene, and my fellow Sweet Sunday design team mate, is this month's hostess and I was thrilled when she asked me to guest design with them this month.

The flower for the month of April is the daisy and she has challenged us to use a daisy on our card or project this week.
I love daisies, one of my favorite flowers and I knew right away what I would do.
I pulled out the MFT Gerber daisy die to make this card.

I started with a base of white card stock. I used a stencil and some modeling pasted that I colored with some acrylic paint.
I set this aside to dry while I made my flowers.

I cute several layers of the three size daisies in the die set to make these flowers. I layered up two of each size for the large flower and just two of the small size for the little flower. I used daffodil delight card stock for the centers. The leaf swirl is also a MFT die and I used some Pear Pizzazz card stock to cut two leaves.
The Hello is another MFT die and I cut 5 die cuts of it. I layered and glued them all together and covered the die cut with some glossy accents.
After all was dried I assembled my card.
Be sure and head over to the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog to see what the fabulous design team did with this challenge!

MFT Sketch Challenge.....Birthday Wishes

Happy Friday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch challenge this week at the MFT Challenge Blog.

I love this sweet little Pure Innocence girl called Happy Banner.
I colored her with my copic markers.
I decide to color her banner to match some Sahara Sand card stock so I could use that as my base.

I did end up using some Concord Crush card stock for the base and the Sahara Sand for the next layer.
I added a Concord Crush circle and a Wisteria Wonder banner behind the little girl. She is added to the card with foam tape. I die cut a few small stars and added them with foam tape as well.

The Birthday Wishes is from a retired SU set.

Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Stamping!!!

Water Colored Happy Easter

Happy Wednesday Peeps!!

Yesterday I was not feeling the best and I went into my bedroom to lay down for a bit but I was restless and it did not last long. I was up and at my craft desk fairly quickly and decided I would color.

I was inspired by Rita Wright and the pics she has been posting on Instagram to pull out this set. It is the Stampin Up Indescribable Gift set. I love this flower and decided I would try and watercolor with my distress inks.
I stamped the image with Black Stazon onto some water color paper and begin to color.
I squished some Picked Raspberry ink onto an acrylic block and used my water brush to color.
I used Mowed Lawn for the leaves and for the branch I used some Vintage Photo.

I used my heat gun to dry the flower before starting the background.
I used Salty Ocean and Picked Raspberry for the Background.
I stamped the sentiment with Black Memento ink and added a few sequins to finish it up.
I trimmed the piece down a bit and added it to my white card base.

I am linking this card to a couple of challenges one is the CASology Spring Challenge

and

The Paper Players Tic Tac Toe

I used the bottom line, Flowers, any shade of Pink and Polka Dots, that is if you can count my dots around my flower as polka dots. :)
