Happy Mother's Day and a Confession

Good Morning Peeps! Another rainy day here!

I have to preface my card with a little confession!!! We all, stampers that is, know about obsessions, I mean seriously, we all are obsessed and addicted, wanting everything we see, always on the look out for the newest thing, wanting it all and wanting it NOW right?

Well yesterday I was looking at the sketch challenge on splitcoast and I knew immediately when I saw it what I wanted to do. I wanted to use a water colored rose from the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set for the circle element on my card. The problem with that being, I don't have that set yet. It will be here Friday, but I wanted to use it last night, what to do, what to do?

I e-mailed my friend Lois, who has the set and who has let me stamp images of that flower before, and told her I needed to come and stamp a few more, half joking, half not. Of course she replied that I was welcome to come. I had talked myself out of going by the time I got off work, she lives about 25 miles from me and that would be a 50 mile round trip, sorta of foolish I told myself.

Well, guess what? By 6:30 I was on the phone to her to ask if it was still alright if I drove up, long story short, DH drove me and I got a few roses to make my card, of course it doesn't look as good as I had imagined, but the point is I AM OBSESSED!!!!! I need a 12-step program, or do I???? LOL!!!

I had the idea that I wanted to make a rose, like the ones you see sometimes, that are mostly white, or pale pink with just the tips darker. I need a bit more practice with that one , thankfully I have a few stamped and the set coming soon. But you know, by then I will be over it and on to some other thing!!! You just know I will!!!!

I used cameo coral to color the rose and used coral for the card, along with some riding hood red and Raspberry Tart DS paper.

Well, that is all for today, Thanks for stopping by and letting me confess a little about my obsession.

HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Vicki

P.S I have not heard from Michelle, who was the winner of the blog candy on Monday, if I don't hear from her by this coming Monday, I will choose another name.

Just a Note

Happy Hump Day Peeps!! We are half way through the week, all down hill from here!!!

Today I have a fun little project to show you. I first saw this scratch pad holder
here, on Connie Stewart's blog. I knew I wanted to try it. It is so easy. made with one sheet of 8-1/2 by 11 inch card stock.

I wanted to use some of my favorite Rockabilly DS paper. I used Riding hood Red for my base and added the DS paper on the edges.

I am working a few more of these, with the initials, "A", "D" and "R".......the recipients of these may be able to figure it out from that.

I used some borrowed stamps on these. The letters are from a SU set, I can't remember the name of right now, Thanks Lois, I will bring them home to you soon!

The "Just a Note" is a Rubber Stampede stamp that I have had for ages! Not sure where I got it from. I used the curly label punch to punch the ends of the white and kiwi strip, a cute idea that I saw somewhere.

The letter is stamped with black stazon onto riding hood red and punched out with my 1-1/4 inch punch and layered onto a 1-3/8 circle of kiwi and then I punched a scallop circle out of some basic black, pierced the scallops and mounted the initial onto the scallop circle. The whole initial piece is mounted with a pop dot. Finally I added a mini library clip.

I cut up a bunch of copy paper to fill the scratch pad holder. I am thinking I might stamp some little something on the corner of the copy paper.

A little "Thank-You/I am Sorry gift for some of my favorite stamping friends!

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Blooming With Love

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps. Hope your week has started out well. It is another cloudy cool day here. Rain is predicted for most of the week.

Today's card started out to be for
Beates Weekend Sketch Challenge, hosted this week by the awesome Sharon Harnist.

I, of course, varied the sketch a bit by adding my sentiment circle, so am not sure it still qualifies for the sketch challenge.

Anyway, I wanted to use some of my new paper, that was a gift from Lois, The level 1 Hostess paper pack. Very pretty colors. This one is brocade blue, a color I hardly ever use. I started the card with abase of brocade and followed that with chocolate chip and some brocade blue DS paper. I water colored some flower pots and flowers from the Blooming with Love set. I also used some other fun and new goodies, the corduroy buttons and brads. I added some sticky pearls to the flower centers.

I have sure been struggling with cards lately, I am just a little burned out I think, along with not feeling well, family problems and me not sleeping, it is taking a toll on my mojo!!! Darn it all!!!

Well, enough with that messiness, Thank you so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Sketch and a Winner

Good Monday Morning Peeps! Hope you al had a good weekend!

Today's card was made with the sketch on Jen del Muro's blog I {heart} to stamp. I just love her sketch challenges and I try to do them as often as I can.

This card was very much inspired by this beauty made my Mercy Kerin. I fell in love with it when I first saw it and had filed it away to use later.

I used the colors and the stamp set she had used and just changed it up a bit to fit the sketch.

The colors are basic black and basic gray. I used some patterned paper from the level 1 hostess pack in basic gray.

Now on to the fun stuff, the winner of my blog birthday candy! Thank you all who left such kind birthday wishes!

Random org chose number 8. That is Linda Woodward.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

Good Friday Afternoon Peeps!! Hope you are having a good one!

My card today is made for the sketch on The Stamps and Smiles Blog.

My card is made wit the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set and I water colored the cupcakes and stand with my aqua painter and some ink from the stamp pads. The DS paper is the Candy Lane DS paper and the card colors are taken from that paper. I used pink pirouette riding hood red and close to cocoa.

It is my birthday today and I am really to old to celebrate much, si I thought I might give away a little blog candy today. Just leave me a comment today and then on Monday I will draw a name for some fun stuff.

I am running behind today, so I will make it short. I didn't get a picture of the candy, some ribbon and a Martha Stewart punch and a couple of other surprises. So be sure and leave me a comment.

Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

2 cards 1 Sketch

Good Thursday Morning Peeps!!! It is a beautiful day here in southwest Missouri, temps heading up into the 80's!!!

Today I have two cards to share with you, both done with yesterdays sketch on Splitcoast.

I am still playing with and loving the Bella Bleu Ds paper. This time I wanted to try my hand at a shabby chic style of card. I achieved the shabby part alright, not sure about the chic! It is hard for me to judge this kind of a card, as it is not my usual style. Altho I do admire the work of the many talented people who make this style look so easy!

This next card uses some more of my fave SU DS paper, this one being Rockabilly. I used the trendy tree set with this one.

Well, I hope you will let me know your thoughts on these two cards, I love reading your comments and suggestions.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure and swing by tomorrow for a surprise!
HAPPY STAMPING!

Bella Bleu Friend

Happy Hump Day Peeps! Half way through the week!!! Yeah!!! It's all down hill from here.

Today's card is made with the Mojo Monday Sketch.

I again used some of the fabulous Bella Bleu DS paper and my new stamp set "Good Friend" from the mini.

The card is a 5 inch by 5 inch square. I used kraft, very vanilla and Not Quite Navy card stock on this card. I stamped the label image in NQN ink and cut it out. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to add the sentiment, what would we do without it?

The butterfly stamp was first pressed into my versamark pad then onto the NQN ink and then onto the very vanilla cardstock. I then embossed it with some clear embossing powder and my heat gun. I cut it out and added it with a small dimensional.

The bottom element is a strip of kraft cardstock that I made the edge with the curly label punch and added some NQN brads and some offray vanilla ribbon.

The center element is started with very vanilla and then more NQN, I used my versamark pad to add some leaves to the Background. I also added some piercing around the edge.

Well, that is it for today, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Sweet Sketch

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps!

Today's card is made with the sketch on Karen Giron's Blog, The Sweetest Thing

I varied the sketch a bit, just me not paying close attention, the sketch actually shows a square card, mine is a standard A2 size. I used some fun new items. I just got this paper, Bella Bleu from SU. My butterflies are also a new die, I have had a couple of weeks but just opened up! The base of the card is not quite navy followed by some very vanilla and then the Ds paper. I cut a strip of very vanilla and stamped the sentiment, from Wonderful Favorites, with not quite navy ink. I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line it all up. The mat is more not quite navy card stock and I used my curly label punch to make the edge design. Dawn has a tutorial here for doing the decorative edge with the curly label punch. It is so cool and super easy when you follow her instructions.

I used made the square that the big butterfly is mounted on with more NQN and Very Vanilla crdstock, pierced around the edge with my piercing tool and mat pack. I cut out the big butterfly with the die, one in the DS paper and one with the NQN cardstock. Layered them up and added some sticky rhinestones to the center and mounted it with a sliver of a dimensional. The other two butterflies are made with my MS punch and also have sticky rhinestones in the middle.

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

TANGERINE ROSE

Good Monday Morning Peeps! Hope you all had a great weekend! I sure did. Yesterday we had a really fun afternoon at my friend Lois' place. We stamped, we watercolored we had some awesome taco soup. We didn't make any cards or projects, we all just watercolored. I want to thank the girls who where there for their friendship and support. They are so much fun and even tho I was nervous, trying to help them watercolor, I think it went OK and they all had fun! Thanks so much to Lois for always opening her home up to us crazed stampers!!!!

The rose I used on today's card is one I watercolored yesterday! I used tangerine tango ink, the stamp is from the 5th Avenue Floral Stamp set. I love to color that rose.

I used Jen's Sketch For You To Try for my layout!

I started with a base of tangerine tango followed by some whisper white and then chocolate chip. The tangerine DS paper is from the now retired Haiku pack and is matted with more whisper white. The next layer is chocolate chip followed my whisper white. I pierced all around the edge of this layer with my piercing tool and mat pack. The next layer is my "faux ribbon" treatment, made with chocolate and white card stock. I pierced this piece as well.

I cute the oval scallop with my nesties and cuttlebug and the white oval with my coluzzle. I pierced the scallops also. I stamped the sentiment, from the Great Friend set, with timber brown stazon and I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up, and it is still slightly crooked.

I then cut out my already colored tangerine rose and mounted it to the card with dimensionals. The oval is also mounted with dimensionals.

I added tiny sticky pearls to the corner of the DS layer and it is done!

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Hugs & Smiles

Good Saturday Morning Peeps!!! How is your weekend going so far? Rainy here in southwest Missouri, suppose to be all weekend. I do have some fun stamping times plan tonight and tomorrow, so not a total "wash" here!!!

Today's card is one I made for the sketch challenge on The Fresh Batch Blog.

I just had to use my new set that I won from them called Cuppy Love!

I really love this set, it is soooooo cute and so much fun to color!

I started my card with a base of pumpkin pie followed by some riding hood red and then the DS paper I used on all of the card is from the Washington Apple DS pack.

I stamped the cuppy image onto watercolor paper and colored it in with some riding hood red, pumpkin pie and so saffron. I added some dazzling diamonds to the top of the big cuppie and some red stickles for the cherry on the top of the little cuppie. I cut them out and mounted them with some dimensionals onto my circle, cut with my nesties. I sponged onto the bottom of the white some kiwi kiss grass.

I added some riding hood red ribbon and the sentiment is stamped and punched out with my oval and scallop oval punches. I pierced around two of the layers with my piercing tool and mat pack.

Well, that's all for today, Thanks sooooo much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!!

Deer Forest Friends

TGIF Peeps! Hope you have some fun plans for the weekend and that it does not fly by like most of the weekends do! On Sunday afternoon I am going to a friends house to do some water coloring. A few of us are meeting to try and hon our skills!!!

I put together today's card with a couple of challenges in mind. I first off used this weeks sketch challenge on splitcoast and I also used this weeks Ways to Use it Challenge which was to use or make a frame.

I love sketch challenges as you all know and I had the frame thing in mind to use with this set anyway, because that tree just seems out of proportion to me to the animals, the set is SU's Forest Friends ans is adorable.

So it all just fell into place, love it when that happens.

If you follow the sketch challenges on splitcoast you know that Roxie, the sketch challenge hostess, always puts measurements in her sample card. I love that.

So I started my card by making the frame, I cut the pacific point card stock to the measurements she had specified: 3 1/8 x 4 1/8”, I then got out my circle nesties and to see what size would work with the tree image and wold fit the panel. I centered the piece over my nestie, leaving a bit more space at the bottom, and then ran it through the cuttlebug to cut. I then ran it through the cuttlebug again with the swiss dot embossing folder to add some more texture.

I stamped the tree onto some white cardstock with kiwi and chocolate chip and used dimensionals to attach it to the pacific blue piece. I added some silver brads to the corner and then matted it all onto a piece of baja card stock that is just 1/8 inch larger.

The DS paper I used is from the Good Morning Sunshine pack and is matted with more pacific. The base of the card is baja and I used baja ribbon, to "hang" my frame.

The cute little deer is stamped with chocolate chip and cut out and mounted on the outside of the frame.

I did not add a sentiment to this card as I could not make one work with my layout, it is soooo hard for me to make a card with out a sentiment on the front, but people tell me it is fine to do so, just hard for me!!! LOL!!!

The inside of the card is layered with more pacific and white cardstock and I used the single SU stamp that reads: "So glad you are one of my "dearest" friends." I think that fits the front don't you?

Well, that is all for today, I hope I have something to share with you tomorrow, I am feeling so "mojoless" last night and today.!! UGH!!! Hate that.

Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

A Note for You

Good Thursday Morning Peeps!!! We are on the down hill slide to the weekend! Hope you all have had a good week so far. We are expecting rain to move in for the weekend, but it is nice out today and the sun is shinning. I was out side this morning with my puppy and I counted over 15 big buds on my iris's

So on to today's card. This card is made with the sketch on The Mojo Monday Sketch Blog. I have never made a card with the mojo sketches, but they are so popular I thought I would give it a try.

I started with a base of kraft cardstock and followed that with some baja and then some DS paper. I have seen a few card around that have done the bottom like I did this one and thought they looked very cool, so I wanted to try. I used the SU eyelet border punch and punched each layer including the base. The main image is from that same borrowed set I used yesterday, "Scene in a Garden". Love it!

I added some baja ribbon and some big ol' white brads to the corners of the second layer. The sentiment is stamped in black onto some baja and I used the word window punch to punch it out. I also added a little piercing in the top corners.

That is it for today, Thanks soooo much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!!

New Rubber is Good

Happy Hump Day peeps!!

Today's card is made with some new rubber, not mine, borrowed from a friend, but still new and NEW RUBBER is always a good thing!!!

I used Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch for my card.

I started with a base of pink pirouette and followed that with chocolate chip and then some DS paper from the Bella Rose pack and the bottom strip is from the Parisian Breeze.

I then used more chocolate and some Riding hood Red DS paper from the Bella Rose pack. I pierced all around the edge of this layer.

The next layer consist of chocolate chip and then the water colored image and some kiwi kiss DS paper below the image.

The images are from the borrowed set, Stampin Up's Scene in a Garden. A great little set for water coloring. I just masked off the top of the bench to look like a shelf and then stamped onto the watercolor paper. I then stamped the windmill birdhouse, the bird and the stack of pots in black stazon. I colored with my aqua painter and ink pads.

I pierced all around the edges of this layer as well. I made the button/ribbon piece by cutting a small piece of riding hood red taffeta ribbon and threading a piece of cotton thread through the button and tying around the ribbon. I added three silver brads to the lower corner.

Thanks Lois for loaning me this cute little set, stop by tomorrow for another fun card with this same set.

That's all for today, thanks for coming by and Happy Stamping!

Cuppy Love

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps!!! Hope you are having a great week so far! The sun is finally shining here, tho it is not very warm but I'll still take it, so much better than the glooomy past few days!

I am so excited about today's card. You might remember me saying a few weeks ago that I won a stamp set on the Stamps and Smiles Blog. It was in the mail yesterday when I got home! I had to immediately ink it up! I have been dreaming of this cute set every since I won!!!

I used some of the things that was still out on my desk from my last card. Mainly some paper from the Bella Rose DS paper pack. My base is large, 5 X 5 inches, in kiwi kiss. I matted the layers with basic black.

I stamped the adorable cupcake image with black stazon onto watercolor paper. I colored them in with some kiwi and riding hood red ink. I also used some blush blossom for the skin color. I added some dazzling diamonds to the icing on the big cupcake and some red stickles to the cherry on the baby cupcake. Aren't they stinkin' cute?!!! I colored in some kiwi grass and pierced around the whole image.

I used some riding hood red ribbon and three white brads. The sentiment is from an old SU hostess set, I can't remember the name right now. I stamped it onto some more watercolor paper and punched it out with my oval punch and then matted it with some more kiwi.

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Buzzin' Sketch

Good Monday Morning Peeps! Hope you all had a great weekend and a blessed Easter!

Today's card is made with Jen's Sketch for you to Try.

I have to say that this was a hard one for me. I started and trashed at least two other cards. I just couldn't get anything to look right. As I was sitting at my desk frustrated last night I spotted this cute little bee set picking out from under a stack on my shelf. It seemed to be trying to get my attention. I thought, "That bee might be cute in the squares." So I grabbed it up and went to work.

I stamped each bee image twice on some PTI cardstock and colored them in with my blender pen and some more mustard and blush blossom and also some bashful blue on the wings.

I wasn't sure how I was going to place the bees or make a sentiment, of which I can't seem to make a card with out having one on the front, work on my card.

I used the 1-1.4 inch square punch to punch out the bees and then mounted them onto a piece of basic black card stock that i punched out with my square scallop punch. I had four mounted like that when I thought about putting the sentiment like it appears now on the card. I used my black marker to color just the words I wanted and stamped them onto the white and mounted like the bees.

The base of the card is basic black followed by whisper white and then some more mustard DS paper. I also used black and more DS paper fro the center strip. I used the lace edge punch on the side, which is not visible at all, well maybe just slightly at the top and bottom.

I found some scrap black satin ribbon in my stash, not sure where it came from, and tied it around the card. made a bow and added a 'flocked' brad to the center. I added black brads to the corners after using the ticket corner punch and pierced all around the edge with my piercing tool and mat pack. I added some stickles to the wings after the card was completley put together.

I have to say this certainly is not a 'favorite' card, but still cute, I think.

The inside buzz:

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Weekend Sketch "Friends"

Good Saturday Afternoon Peeps!!

Today's card is made with Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge and this weekend it is hosted by Laurie at "Just Give Me Stamps

I sort of varied off the sketch slightly, by accident, I didn't realize until I had finished the card that the two strips where suppose to be different lengths. I took extra care when making mine to make them even!!! OH WELL!!! That is what I get for not looking closely at the sketch.

My card is started with a chocolate Chip base and followed with some whisper white and then close to cocoa. I used the SU set "Friends 24-7" and stamped the cocoa piece with the damask stamp from that set in a random pattern and then sponged with more cocoa.

The DS paper is the Parisian Breeze and are matted with baja cardstock. The bird is stamped with timber brown stazon, twice and I used my nesties to cut out the bird layer and then I cut the second bird out and pop dotted him up.

I really love this new ribbon from SU in whisper white, it is gorgeous. I was finally able to locate some more sticky pearls at Michael's last week so I had to use some.

The sentiment is from the same set and I just masked of the word Friends that I wanted to use.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING and HAPPY EASTER!

Here for You

Good Friday Morning Peeps!

Today I have two cards to share with you. Both are made with the same sketch from the Stamps and Smiles Blog.

The first one is made with the flower from the SU stamp set "Friends 24-7". I stamped it three times onto watercolor paper and colored with ruby red and old olive with my aqua painter. I then masked them off and sponged on some baja lightly. I added a little bit of dazzling diamonds in the center of the open flowers. I matted that with some so saffron. The sentiment is from that same set. The designer paper I used is from the Sweet Slumber pack and was matted with baja. I used my lace edge punch for the bottom panel and the ribbon is so saffron that was available during SAB. The base of the card is also so saffron.

This next card is made with kiwi, black and some Rockabilly paper.

The cupcake is from the SU set "Wagon Full of Fun". I masked off the candle before stamping because I wanted to add a cherry to the top instead, so it would match the paper. The cherry is made from a white brad that I colored red with a copic marker and then I added red stickles The cupcake liner is paper pieced with some kiwi paper from the same Rockabilly paper and the icing is colored with a copic marker, #RV11 Pink, and I added some dazzling diamonds to it as well, couldn't hlep myself!!!

The sentiment comes from the Wagon Full of Fun set and I just masked off the part I wanted, used my stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up and then when I stamped, I got a couple of tic marks from ink on the edge of the rubber!!! Darn it, so I cut out a cherry from the designer paper to try ad cover it!!!

The ribbon is riding hood red and and I again used the lace edge punch for my bottom layer and then added three white brads.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Kiwi Sketch and Monochromatic Card Challenge

Good Thursday Morning Peeps!

Today's card is made with this weeks sketch challenge on Splitcoast. This card also fits the Monochromatic Card Challenge from my SU only blogging Sisters!!!

My "Trendy Trees" Set was still out on my desk when I sit down to stamp so I just decided to use it again!

I used Kiwi for my base and followed that with some whisper white and then some DS paper from the "Good Morning Sunshine" Pack. For the side panel I used more white and my EK Success Edge punch. I punched bot sides and then layered on more DS paper from the same pack.

The center element is made up of white and kiwi and DS paper. I added the sentiment in a banner like yesterday's card and then added some big ol' white brads at the side. The sentiment and the tree are on dimensionals. The whole main image panel is on dimensionals as well.

I then added some white ribbon I got at Target a while back. That is it, kinda all matchy, matchy but I kinda like it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Rockabilly Love

Good Wednesday Morning Peeps! The sun is shinning and it is finally warming up!!!

Today's card is made with some of the new Rockabilly Paper from SU! It is amazing!!! I just love it. I have loved all the new textured paper this catalog!

I used this sketch on Karen Giron's blog for my layout!

I started with a base of kiwi kiss followed by some basic black and then the DS paper with the fun cherries! The panel on the side is Riding Hood Red and I used the lace edge punch at the bottom and a row of black brads to the side. The main image panel is stamped with the "Trendy Trees" set. I used riding hood red and kiwi ink and then used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the tree trunks. They are stamped with timber brown stazon.

I used some more paper from the Rockabilly pack on the bottom half of the image panel and then a slim slice of kiwi where the white and patterned paper meet.

The sentiment is from the same set and stamped with brown stazon of PTI white and cut out and mounted onto some riding hood red. I made the end cuts into my riding hood red with my photo corner punch. Just line up the paper at the point of the photo corner and punch. Perfect every time, well that is if you line it up straight!!!

I added a row of piercing under the sentiment. The card is another 5" x 5".

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Praying for You

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps!!! It is a cold one here, I sure do miss Spring.....where did it go?

Today's card is made with a new stamp set I just got, "Thoughts & Prayers" by SU. So pretty, I teamed it up with some more of the Parisian Breeze Textured Paper, I don't think you can make a bad card with that paper, I just love all I have seen with it.

I used Jen's Sketch for you to Try for my layout.

I stamped the main image panel onto shimmer white cardstock twice. I inked the stamp up with baja ink and then used my old olive marker to go over the rubber of the leaves and stems. I huffed it alot and then stamped.

The second image was done the same way and I used my 1-1/4 inch punch to punch out the squares for the side elements. I then used the 1-3/8 inch punch with some chocolate chip to back them.

The sentiment is stamped with timber brown stazon onto more shimmer and cut out and I used some hardware from the stylized silver hardware kit to frame the sentiment. I don't have the punch to fit that piece of hardware, so I just hand cut it to fit.

My base is a 5 x 10 inch piece of baja card stock folded in half, followed by chocolate chip and then the designer paper.

Well, that is all for today, thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Hey Chickie!!!

Good Monday Morning Peeps!!! Hope you all had a great weekend!!!

On Saturday afternoon/evening I was at my friend Lois' house for SAS and a couple of us stayed to play afterwards!

I had seen this cute little chickie while blog surfing and wanted to give it a try. So we set out to make one on Saturday evening! Isn't he cute?

He is made with the SU Scallop Die. You can find all the instructions on the blog linked above. The only thing we did different, I think, was to pop up her wings with some pop dots. She is made with barely banana, sponged with so saffron. The ribbon holds the card together. I think she is adorable. I had to make a few more yesterday. Who knows where these might turn up!!

Cute little Easter card to send or tuck into some ones basket. I still make basket's for my family, even tho they are grown. I love it and I think they do too.

Well, that is all for today, Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Gratitude

Good Saturday Morning Peeps!! Hope your weekend is going well, so far!! It is very, very windy here today, but is suppose to get warm, but then you know that wind is blowing in change. Back to winter like weather after today for a few days!!!

Well, onto today's card. It gave me fits!!!! I had nothing but trouble with this card and even now I am not loving it!

I started with a sketch, of course.
Beate's Weekend Sketch challenge, this week hosted by the uber talented Mary Jo Albright. You should check out her Blog, Beauty lies within, she is fabulous!

But back to my so-so card, I had an idea when I started what I wanted to do, but I couldn't get anything to work. I literally worked on this card for around 3 hours, trying several things and re-doing alot! I finally settled on what you see here but like I said, I am not to pleased.

I made another of the 6-1/2 x 3-1/4 inch cards, started with a base of kraft and then followed it with some riding hood red and some DS paper from the Candy Lane DS pack and the white at the bottom is from the Taste of Textile. I do love that white shimmer strip! The sentiment is from the "Define Your Life" set and is stamped in riding hood red on white and then layered onto some more riding hood red and then kraft. I pierced all around the outer edge of the sentiment panel with my piercing tool and mat pack. I added a strip of kraft between the top and bottom panel, I pierced that piece as well.

I made a folded fan flower with a strip of RHR pattern paper and added a circle of the shimmer white with a pearl brad in the center. The opposite corner is just a white button with some riding hood red taffeta ribbon tied through it. I added some silver brads and called it done!

So what do you think? Opinions please, good bad or indifferent, all are welcomed.

Well that is all for today, I am going to Stamp-a-Stack this afternoon, can't wait. Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Friend to Friend

TGIF Peeps!! So glad the weekend is upon us!!! It has been one of "those" weeks. On a positive note, I did finally find my cell phone this morning, in the bottom of the laundry hamper!!! How it got there I do not know!! But I am just glad I found it and it is still fine, just has a dead battery, it is home on the charger as we speak!!!

Today's card is dedicated to my friend Lois. She told me yesterday that I HAD to ink up another stamp from the "Wagon Full of Fun" set besides the duck!! So this ones for you Lois, Hope you like it!

I made it with this weeks sketch on the Stamps and Smiles Blog. You should check out the sketch challenge they have on Thursday's, if you haven't already, those girls post the cutest cards!!!

I started mine with a base of so saffron and followed that with some baja and then some DS paper from the "Sweet Slumber" pack.

The strip on the side is also baja and more paper from the same pack. I used my EK success wavy edge punch on both sides. The next layer is some more baja that I ran through the cuttlebug with the swiss dot folder. I added some so saffron ribbon, from SAB, and tied a "bow knot".

The main image is stamped onto watercolor paper and colored with ink from smashing my pad together and squishing some ink onto the lid of the ink pad. I used ruby red and baja for the flower petals. The center of the flowers are so saffron, the leaves and stems are old olive and the pots are really rust. I then cut them out and mounted them onto some PTI white cardstock and colored in some grass/ground with more old olive and my aquapainter. that piece is then mounted onto so saffron and added to the card with some foam tape.

The sentiment comes from the SU set called "Pocket Silhouettes" an is stamped with black stazon onto white and cut out. I added a ruby red flower with a silver brad to the sentiment edge.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Egg-ceptional

Good Thursday Morning Peeps!! Hope your week is going well! We are on the down side of the week. It is rainy a cloudy and cold here today. Awwww Spring.......where did you go?

Today's card is made with this
weeks sketch challenge on Splitcoast.

I am still loving the "Wagon Full of Fun" Stamp set. This time I added the wagon and some cute little Easter eggs.

I first saw the idea for the duck pulling the wagon here on Becky Roberts blog. Her card is just too cute, so I sit out to make my own version.

I stamped the wagon, two eggs and two ducks onto watercolor paper and colored them with my aquapainter and markers. I then cut them all out, the second duck I only used the wing, to layer. On the wagon I cut out on the spaces between the rails and I cut off the handle to be able to move it to the other end for the duck to hold.

I made my grass border by just making small little cuts in my strip of certainly celery card stock. I added chocolate chip brads for the wheels and the handle connect. I also used brads on the eggs. The whole scene was glued onto PTI white card stock and layered with bashful blue and so saffron card stock.

The DS paper is from the Delicate Dots pack from SAB and so is the so saffron ribbon. I loved them both and stocked up on them while I could. I have to say I love these two pieces of paper from the pack the most.

The paper is split in the middle and mounted onto some certainly celery and the base of the card is bashful blue. It is all so "Springy". The sentiment is from the same set and stamped onto PTI white with black stazon and punched out with the word window punch and attached directly to the image panel.

The main panel s on dimensionals. I also added three so saffron brads in the upper left corner.

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

You Got a Friend

Happy April Fools Day Peeps!!! I am not big on April Fools jokes so I will not try and pull off some clever little prank to fool all you into believing something that is not true.....if I was a little bit more clever I could come up with something, but my 50 something brain is just toooooo tired!!! LOL!!!

Yesterday while I was blurfing around, visiting some of my blogging buddies I found this sketch. I printed it out and thought I would give it a try.

I used one of my fave sets from SU called "Cheep Talk" and of course used some of the "in colors". I can't seem to leave them alone, almost all my cards lately have at least one of them in it. This card is made with kiwi kiss and pacific blue and the DS paper is "Good Morning Sunshine".

I stamped the branch by inking up the leaf section with some kiwi ink and then using my chocolate chip marker to fill in the branch. I stamped it onto PTI white card stock. I then inked up my bird with pacific and used my pumpkin pie marker to ink the beak, I fist wiped off the pacific ink from the beak with a Q-tip. The sentiment is stamped with pacific ink as well, I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up. I made the "nest" that my bird is sitting gin by knotting up some small strips of chocolate chip cardstock and then gluing it down with some mono glue. I pierced the edges of the main image panel with my piercing tool and mat pack.

I used some of the awesome kiwi satin ribbon to wrap around the card and to make the bow. I used a silver flower brad to hold the bow together and to attach it to the card. I punched a small photo corner and added silver brads to it.

The main image is up on dimensionals, and I made another 6-1/2 by 3-1/4 inch card. Love this size!!!

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!
