Still AddINKtive......Oh Hello

Oh, Hello....Peeps!!!

It is time for another new challenge at Still AddINKtive.

This week is a a fun color challenge:

I have to admit, I struggled a bit with this color combo....I threw a couple of things into the recycle bin before finally getting this card made. I do love what I ended up with but it took a few false starts to get there!!
My card is a 4-1/2 inch square, no envelope for this one but let's face it, with the rolled flowers and scrunchy bow this wouldn't be a very mailable card anyway.

The DSP on here is from the Fan Fair paper pack. The sentiment is from the new Stampin Up "Oh, Hello stamp set. I used a non SU Sizzix die for my rolled flowers and the leaves are from the Stampin Up Little Leaves die.

Merry Monday.....Merry Christmas

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Time for a new Merry Monday Challenge,
Lesley at Always Playing with Paper has a great challenge for us this week:

It is a Tic Tac Toe Challenge:
Pick a row, any row and make your card using those elements. I used the top line,
Blue, Dry Embossing and Snow.
I love Night of Navy for Christmas Cards, combined with just white it makes a really nice combo.
I used the large Stampin' Up die for my big snowflake element. The die is called Snow Flurry and is so pretty. I used whisper white and die cut the snowflakes, it cuts three and layered them up dimensionals between each layer.

I cut the circle behind the snowflake using my circle cutter, it is a 3-5/8 inch circle I embossed with a snowflake embossing folder, as I did the white strips behind the circle.
The sentiment on here is from the Stampin Up Greetings of the Season stamp set.

Be sure and check out what the rest of the Merry Makers did with this great sketch:

Dynamic Duos......Heartfelt Sympathy

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

It is time for another new color challenge on the Dynamic Duos Blog
It is monochromatic week:

I love this combo, I decided to make a sympathy card with the colors,
I hate when I need one but it is nice to have on hand when the occasion rises.

Both the flower stamp and the Sentiment on here are from retired sets.
The flower stamp is from Happy Harmony and the sentiment comes form the Close as a Memory stamp set.
The flowers are stamped with Crumb Cake ink onto Very Vanilla card stock and the sentiment is stamped with Soft Suede ink.

The base is Crumb Cake and then the next layer is Soft Suede and then more Crumb Cake that is embossed with the dots EF.
The DSP across the bottom is from the new Print Poetry paper stack. I added a strip of Soft Suede that I scalloped punched. I then added some Naturals Trim Ribbon and tied a bow. I just have to pause here for a minute and tell you how nice this ribbon is, it is so pretty, ties up really nice and has the look that reminds me of burlap, you really need some of this ribbon.
I finished the card off with some small gold pearls.

Valentine Greetings

Happy Friday Peeps!

So sorry for just getting this posted,  I have been busy with things and my poor blog gets neglected.
Anyway this is a card I created on Tuesday using the COLOR CHALLENGE, this week on Splitcoaststampers.

The colors this week are Soft Suede, Calypso Coral, and Pool Party.
I thought a bit about this before I hit upon the idea to make this card.
I had made a floral wreath on the card on my last blog post and so I thought I could do another one using these colors.
I used my heart framelits to cut the heart shape into the base of the card which is
Soft Sued and then I embossed with the Woodgrain EF. I found out after doing this card  that embossing this along with the large heart opening makes the front piece a bit flimsy, so next time I will back it with another piece of card stock before cutting and embossing. I added a piece afterwards, trying to align it all up but it isn't as straight as I would like, not bad but not as nice as I want, so if you go to duplicate this you may want to use two pieces of cardstock glued together on the front.

The flowers are all stamped and hand cut out using the Calypso Coral and Pool Party ink.
The stamp  set I used is of course, the Stampin Up Bloomin' Marvelous.

Don't you love how the flowers look against the Woodgrain embossed Soft Suede?

The ribbon and button is from the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button pack.
I used several basic pearls for the flower centers and at the top corners of the front.
The sentiment is from the Grateful Greetings stamp set.
I think it turned out nice but it is alot of fussy cutting so if you don't like doing that this card my not be for you...LOL!!

Well, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!

Still addINKtive.....Birthday Wishes

Hello Peeps!!

This week at Still addInktive we are featuring 3 of the new SAB stamp sets.

Patterned Occasions,  Pretty Petites and Bloomin' Marvelous.

You knew which one I would choose first. of course it is Bloomin' Marvelous.

I also used some other new items, the doily comes from the Artisan Embellishment Kit and the DSP on here is from the Simply Sent Sealed with Love Kit, I again cut up an envelope to use on my card. I let the DSP dictate my color choices on here. the flowers are stamped with Calypso Coral, Real Red and Pool Party.
I fussy cut out a bunch and layered them around the doily. I first stamped the sentiment from  Petite Pairs onto some whisper white and layered onto the doily. The flowers were then placed around the sentiment. I used dimensionals on several of them. I added some basic pearls and a pretty pool party bow. The ribbon is also a SAB item from the Sycamore ribbon and button pack.

The top BG piece is some Pool Party that I embossed with the Cloudy Day EF.

As an added bonus this week EVERY entry this week will receive a free template for one of the following card designs:

One link=one template, (up to three links per blog)

Hop on over to the Still addINKtive Blog for all the details,
I hope you can find some time to play along with us

Sweet Sunday......Oh Whale

Happy Sunday Peeps!!!

Here is our Sweet Sketch, designed by yours truly:

I have had this card rolling around in my head for awhile now,, and even tho I planned it out in my head, it took alot longer than it should have to make, blame it on the exhaustion. I at one point had it almost all together and realized all my hearts on the three BG panels were upside down....UGH...had to take it all apart!!
Anyway.....
I am using some new items from Stampin Up's Spring Mini.
I love the new set called "Oh Whale" and the matching Clearlit Die.
I die cut the whale out using some Pool Party card stock and then embossed him with the square
lattice EF. I used my circle and scallop circle nesties for the center element. I stamped the hearts with some Primrose Petals ink and then added the whale with a few dimensionals.
I added a basic pearl to the whale for his eye.

The base of the card is some Confetti Cream card stock and then the next layer is Primrose Petals. The DSP is from the More Amore Specialty pack.
I added some Pool Party ribbon and button which is from the SAB Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack
I stamped the sentiment, which is from the Oh Whale set, (it has the cutest sentiments to go along with the whale theme) with black stazon onto some more of the confetti cream card stock and flagged the end and curled it a bit. and added it to the card.

Be sure and check out what the rest of the team has made with this sweet sketch:

Dynamic Duos.....Sending love

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

It is time for another new color challenge at the  Dynamic Duos  Blog.

It is Black Tie week:

Real Red & Basic Black with a dessert option of making it a Valentine Theme!
I first decided to make some pretty real red flowers using the new Stampin Up set called Secret Garden.
I stamped one of the flowers several time onto real red card stock using Versamark and then embossed with white embossing powder.
I used the matching framelit die to cut the bottom flower out and then used my paper snips to fussy cut the other layers. I used dimensionals between the layers, popping up each layer. Aren't those flowers fabulous? Love them.

Color Challenge....Forever Friends

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!

Today I have a quick share for you, a card I made using the color challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers.
Such a pretty color combo this week, Wisteria Wonder, Rose Red and Pink Pirouette, with a dessert option  of Circles.

I decide to use a new Stampin Up  SAB flower stamp, you all know I LOVE this set, it is called Bloomin Marvelous and I can't resist a pretty flower stamp!
I did sneak in another color, I used some Wild Wasabi for my leaves, I tried to make my flower arrangements with out any greenery but it just wasn't looking right, so I played the rebel and added the green leaves.

The sentiment on here comes from the Stampin Up Friendly Words wheel, that I cut apart. This wheel is now retired, so I hope you already have it, cos this is a really neat section of the wheel and I like to use this sentiment when making a friend card and when I need to fill a bigger space in my main panel.
I also LOVE the new Honeycomb EF from the spring mini, a must have.
The base of the card is a 5 x 10 inch piece of Wisteria card stock folded in half.
BTW....
have you gotten the new Stampin Up Paper Cutter:

It is AMAZING!!
I love mine so much, it has a wide base and you can measure and cut a standard size card without using the extended arm, that is my favorite part that and the fact the cutting and scoring piece is always in the cutting guide, no changing out when you need to score, so handy!!

Anyway, back to the card. the next layer is Pink Pirouette. I then used some Confetti White that I embossed with the HoneyComb EF. The DSP on here is from a retired pack.
I then used one of the EF from the Delicate Designs pack to embossed the scallop strip with more Pink Pirouette card stock. I added some white ribbon between the layers and tied a double bow. I finished it all off with some basic pearls.

HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Still addINKtive.....Happy Birthday

Hello Peeps!!
It is time for another fun challenge at Still addINKtive.

It is week 3 and we have our second combined sketch and color combo to get you motivated.
A different twist to our challenges is that you can use both parts of the challenge OR you can choose either the sketch or the color combo. It is entirely up to you!!

The sketch this week is for a square card or project featuring an image in the center.
We have some bright summery colors, Tempting Turquoise, Summer Starfruit and Chocolate Chip.

I went a bit shabby chic with my card. I combined a few sets with this one.
I used Stampin Up's   French foliage in the Background, the flourish is from Everything Eleanor and the flowers are from the new Secret Garden set, I love that new set and it's matching dies.

The base of the card is Chocolate Chip card stock and I cut it with the Scallop Square Bigz Clear Die.
The next layer is Tempting Turquoise and then Very Vanilla for the main image panel.
The flowers are stamped with Tempting Turquoise and Summer Starfruit.
I used one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack for the centers.

Be sure and pop over to the Still addInktive Blog to see what the others did with this great challenge.
I sure hope you have time to play along.

Merry Monday....Christmas Cheer

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Time for a new Merry Monday Challenge, Lesley at Always Playing with Paper has a great challenge for us this week, a fabulous sketch:

You know I love a good sketch and this one is a fun one to work with, so simple with so many possibilities.

I pulled out my Stampin Up Ornament Keepsakes stamp set and matching dies and made this 3-d ornament.
I really love this ornament set and have not used it very much at all.
I keep my card fairly simple, the base of the card is Raspberry Ripple card stock and then a layer of white and the DSP is from the Snow Festival paper pack.

Be sure and check out what the rest of the Merry Makers did with this great sketch:

Dynamic Duos....Birthday Wishes

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

It is time for a new color challenge on the Dynamic Duos Blog.

This week is a Soft and Subtle pallet:

I am using a couple of items from the upcoming Stampin Up SAB flyer.
The flowers and leaves on here are from the Bloomin Marvelous stamp set and I also used a piece from the Happy Hello Simply Sent Card Kit.
The piece on the bottom of the card is cut from an envelope from the kit. I guess it was kinda a waste of an envelope, but I wanted to use this paper on my card and I can salvage the envelope with some other DSP, at another time.
I also used the new Honeycomb EF on the top half of the card, I LOVE this EF.

I matted the bottom piece with some white card stock, I just laid the yellow piece onto some white and traced the design and hand cut it out. I distressed the edges of the white a bit to hide the imperfect hand cut piece.
I used some retired whisper white satin ribbon across the two pieces.

Be sure and head on over the the Dynamic Duos Blog and see what the rest of the team did with these colors! Sure hope you can play along!

HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Color Challenge...Thanks So Much

Happy Hump Day Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the color challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers.
The colors this week are Raspberry Ripple, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.
I got a few new goodies this week so I had to give them a workout.
The flowers on here are from the new Stampin Up set called "Secret Garden" and the best thing is this set has a matching set of framilit dies.
I stamped the flowers with black stazon onto some confetti cream card stock and colored using my aqua painter and raspberry ripple ink.

The base of the card is Raspberry Ripple and then a layer of Confetti Cream and then three strips of Soft Suede that I embossed with the Vine Street EF which is a SAB item.
I used a couple of peices of DSP from the Print Poetry pack, on one side cut into banner flags.
I finished it off with some Raspberry Ribbon and a few basic pearls.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Merry Monday......Warm Winter Wishes

Happy Monday Peeps!!

It is our very first Merry Monday Challenge of the New Year!
This week it is a fun color challenge:

I was a little late getting my card loaded up on the design time blog cos I ran in to a bit of a hiccup when making my card.
This actually is not the first card I made with these colors, I had made another one, and when I went to upload it I saw that it was a bit similar to one another girl had made so I thought I should make something different, hence me being a bit behind.
It is all good tho, I like this one too. I pulled out the fun Stampin Up set Wonderful Winterland.
This little skater is so cute, but these images are very small. I tried to color with my aqua painter but could not, I switched to my copics and was able to get a close color match.

The sentiment is from the Stampin Up Winter Memories stamp set.
I added some snowflakes that I die cut from the Northern Flurries Sizzlit strip.
I used pool party and island indigo for the snowflakes and added rhinestones to the center of each.
Be sure and pop over to Lesley's Blog to see what the rest of the design team did with this pretty color combo.

Sweet Sunday......Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

It is time for a new Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.
Here is our sweet sketch this week:
This is another sketch designed by our very own and oh so talented Karen Motz, who I Love!
I also love this great sketch, very easy to work with.
I am again using the Stampin Up Pleasant Poppies, hey it was out and on my desk.
This time I stamped a portion of the flowers onto some white card stock and then stamped again. I colored and then cut out the flower heads and added them over the top of the first ones with dimesionals.
I used raspberry ripple ink and my aqua painter to color them.
I wasn't planning a Valentines card when I started out but after putting it together I thought it looked very "Valentine-y"
I am also linking this to the The Paper Players Challenge: Love is in the Air

I used one of the delicate doilies sizzlits to mount my flowers onto.
The base of the card is Raspberry Ripple card stock and then I followed that with some white and the next layer is some DSP from a retired Simply Sent kit.
I then added more white and some more DSP from the Patio Party paper pack.
The edge along the bottom of the DSP is made from one of the Finishing Touches edgelits dies.
I added another strip of white that I embossed with the Chevron EF.
I finished it off with a loopy bow with a button and a few basic pearls.
I added some dazzling details to the flowers,
Here is a closeup where you can see the sparkle and dimesion a bit:

Dynamic Duos.....Happy Birthday

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

I am excited to be back with our first color challenge of the new year on the Dynamic Duos blog.

Love this color combo, I pulled out my Stampin Up Pleasant Poppies stamp and inked it ups with some black stazon. I stamped it onto some confetti white card stock and colored in the flower heads with my aqua painter and melon mambo ink from squishing the ink pad together.
I then cut them all apart and layered them onto the embossed BG piece using some dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. I made a loopy bow and added a melon mambo button to the center. The DSP on here is from the Summer Smooches paper pack. I added some dazzling details to the flowers to add some sparkle and shine, very pretty IRL. Here is a close-up shot that shows the sparkle a bit:

Be sure and head on over the the Dynamic Duos Blog and see what the rest of the team did with these colors! Sure hope you can play along!

Sweet Friend

Happy Thursday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the Sketch Challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers.

I thought this sketch was so much fun to work with, I loved the bottom layers!
I wanted to make a Valentine card and use my fave "Greeting Card Kids" stamp set.
I pulled out some retired DSP, Love Letters, this was the very last of my pack, it is just scraps and bits and pieces.
the base of the card is Basic Black and I also used Riding Hood Red,

I used the Tasteful Trim Bigz die for my scallops.
I used some shimmer red for the big heart behind the girl.

The sentiment I used is from the Fabulous Phrases stamp set. I stamped the two words onto some very vanilla card stock and hand cut the "v" ends. The flags are tucked in between the rosette and the heart.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!

Vicki
