Merry Monday.....Christmas Wishes

Happy Tuesday peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using this fabulous little stamp set i just got. It is made by JustRite stamps and I have had my eye on it for a long time! I just love it and finally went ahead and took the plunge and got it. It arrived in my mailbox yesterday and so I sit right down to play with it.

I saw the challenge this week at the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge, was to feature bells on your card. Perfect for my new stamp, the wreath has bells!!

I stamped the wreath image onto some white card stock and colored with my copic markers.
I then was a bit crazy and decided to cut this baby out. That was a bit challenging, especially the inside, but I got it done. I set it aside and made the base.

The base is white card stock then a layer of Cherry Cobbler. I then embossed another piece of white using the decorative dot embossing folder. I then added the wreath to my base using some dimensionals. the sentiment is from the same wreath set and is stamped using Cherry cobbler ink.  I die cut it out using a MFT die. I then added a strip of cherry cobbler card stock across the bottom and mounted the sentiment with dimensionals.

I then used some crystal effects on the jingle bells and used my wink of stella brush to add some shimmer to the bow.

A close-up of the bow to show the shimmer

So pretty IRL.
I finished it up with a couple of red rhinestones.

Merry Monday Guest Designer

Happy Monday Peeps!
A couple of weeks ago I was honored to have my card (see it here) choose as the Challenge winner on the Merry Monday Challenge Blog. What an honor and because of that I was asked to be a guest designer this week. The challenge for this week is to use a present on your card.

I was stumped at first, I looked through my stamps and realized I have NO stamps with presents. I then stumbled upon my set of Spellbinders dies called Frosty Forms, that I bought last year. There is a present die with bows in this set! So my mind went to work, thinking what to make!

I finally decided to make a Winter outdoor scene with some presents snuggled in the snow!
The pretty deer on here is from the same Spellbinders die set that has the presents.

I pulled out some retired Stampin UP DSP from last year called Winter Frost. The base of my card is Smoky Slate, then a layer of white and then a piece of the DSP.
The tree is a Paper Trey die and I embossed it with the Lacy Brocade EF.
The snowy hills I hand cut and added to the base, the second one is added with dimensionals.
I added the sentiment which is from the Paper Trey set called In the Meadow. I used Pool Party Ink to stamp.
I die cut the presents with some paper from the Winter Frost pack and the deer is cut with some Silver Foil paper as is the star, which is a die from the retired Holiday Collections Framelits (they may still be available on the Clearance Rack)
I added some Diamond Dust Stickles to the top of the snowy hills and on the tree, which you can not see in the picture, but it is really pretty and sparkly IRL.
I really like how this card came together, even tho I was not sure when I started.
Be sure and head over to the Merry Monday Blog and check out what the rest of the team did with this fun challenge. Hope you have some time to play along, I would love to see what you make!

Thanks for coming by today!

Merry Monday......Warm Wishes Snowman

Happy Friday Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge this week on the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Blog. ( I am going to try and play along more with this challenge, I got several new Christmas goodies this past year and never got the time to use them.)

The challenge this week is Snowman or Snow People:

This paper from Stampin Up is one I love and hardly got to play with this past Season, it is called
"Winter Frost"  The colors in this paper are so pretty.
My snow man is not a SU stamp but I just love her.
I paper pieced her scarf and used my aqua painter to color her hat, face and the shadows.

The base of the card is some Brush Silver card stock followed by a layer of Coastal Cabana and then the DSP.
I added a strip of Silver Glimmer paper across the middle and edged them with more Coastal Cabana. This card really shines IRL!!
The sentiment below the snowgirl comes from "Snow Day" stamp set and I used my stamp a ma jig to line it up and used just a portion of  stamp.
I added two button snowflakes that I cut the shank off  of to the sides using some glue dots.

Hope you like her, I think she turned out pretty cute!!!

Sweet Sunday.....Merry Little Christmas

Happy Sunday Peeps!!!

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

As you can see I flipped the sketch on its side. I wanted to use this pretty sentiment from the Stampin Up Merry Little Christmas, I love this sweet little set, just the sentiment and two elements make up this set.

I decided to use the Merry Monday Challenge this week which is to use the Chalkboard Technique.
I stamped the sentiment with Versmark onto some black card stock and embossed with white embossing powder. I then sponged on some white craft ink around to make the "chalk dust" look. The embossing makes my card stock warp a bit so I matted my black with another piece of black.

The base of my card is a 5 x 11 inch piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock folded in half. I then used a piece of white and the DSP is from the Deck the Halls pack.
I added some Cherry Cobbler seam binding across the card and then made a loopy bow. I added three white sparkly jingle bells to the bow. I love jingle bells and have a big assortment of colors but I think besides rusty ones I love these white sparkly ones the best!! I finished off with three little silver sequins. Simple but sweet! :)

Merry Monday.....Snow Much Fun

Merry Monday Peeps!!!

Sorry I am a bit late posting, I didn't get this post pre-scheduled and was just tooooo pooped last night after work to do it. But I am off work today and I am going to enjoy some much needed down time and time with hubby!!

Anyway on to my card for today, Lesley has another awesome sketch for us this week:

When I saw this sketch I thought right away that I would use this fun PTI die I got last winter to make my card. I LOVE this die with the sledder!! Just tooooo  much fun! I have some great childhood memories of doing this very thing!

I kept my card very Clean and Simple, I used a base of PTI white and then some retiring, BOO!, baja breeze and then the DSP I used is from Stampin Up Snow Festival paper pack.
The sentiment is from the Snow Much Fun stamp set.

Merry Monday Peeps!!!

Lesley has another awesome sketch for us this week:

I pulled out my Stampin Up Wonderful Winterland for my card. Love the sweet little images in this set.
I stamped the image with black stazon onto white card stock and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads.
I used bashful blue, cherry cobbler and some blushing bride for the skin tone.
The image is cut out using one of the Window Frames framelits.

The base of the card is crumb cake and the DSP is from the festival of prints pack.

The sentiment is from the retired Bright Christmas set. I added a small snowflake button, I sniped the shank off before gluing on. I finished off with a couple of rhinestones.

Merry Monday.....Beary Christmas

Happy Monday Peeps!!

We are back from our one week break with a new Merry Monday Challenge.

Here is the great sketch Lesley has for us this week:

Today I am using a great little digi stamp from Heather Ellis.
I printed the digi out on some white card stock and colored with my copic markers.
I die cut the main piece out with my oval framelits and then used the same framelit to draw and cut out the mat with some Cherry Cobbler card stock.

The sentiment is computer generated and printed out onto some white card stock. I cut and matted it with more cherry cobbler. I added an antique brad to the sentiment banner and some silver pearls to the top corners.
The base of the card is Gumball Green card stock, then a layer of white and the DSP is from the Festival of Print paper pack.
Here is a little close-up of the main image:
I added some stardust stickles under the image and to the pop pom on the bears hat. I used my white get pen to add a few details to the image.

Merry Monday....Joys of the Season

Merry Monday Peeps!!!
Today Lesley at Always Playing with Paper has a fun new sketch for us:

I pulled out my Stampin Up "Winter Memories" stamp set  to use this sled and cardinal stamp.
I stamped the image onto some confetti cream card stock with black stazon and colored using my aqua painter and ink pads.
The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler and then a layer of cream and then the DSP is from the "Be of Good Cheer" paper pack.

The sentiment is from a small Hero Arts set and is stamped with black stazon and punched out with my 1-3/8 inch punch and I used my 1-1/2 inch punch and cherry cobbler to mat the circle.
I used some ribbon for my flag elements from the sketch, I used some vanilla velvet ribbon (retired) and some cherry cobbler scallop ribbon.
I pierced all around the main image and colored a few small pearls with a copic marker to add to the wreath,
I finished it up with more pearls in the corners.

Merry Monday....Holiday Cheer

Merry Monday Peeps!!!

Today Lesley at Always Playing with Paper has a fun Tic Tac Toe Challenge for us:

I went with Ribbon, Paper Piecing and Red.
I had also just picked up this cute Penny Black snowman stamp and wanted to use him this week.
I stamped the snowman onto some rustic white card stock and also onto some DSP from the Stampin Up "Be of Good Cheer" paper pack. I then cut out and "pieced" the scarf and hat on the snowman.
I then stamped his hat again onto more card stock and pieced the hat brim again. I covered the hat brim with a bunch of stardust stickles.

My card turned out a bit bigger than a standard card, the base is 5-1/2 inches by 4-3/4 inches.
Then a layer of black and then Crumb Cake and then some Cherry Cobbler, my red. I embossed the Cherry Cobbler with my swirl EF.
The snowman is cut out with a circle nestie and then I cut a black scallop circle to mat with.
I used some of the Stampin Up Natural Trim Ribbon across the bottom and tied a bow.
The sentiment is from Hero Arts and is stamped with black and cut with my nesties.
I added some black brads and some black rhinestones on the sentiment piece.
I love this cute little snowman!!!

Merry Monday....Snowmen

Merry Monday Peeps!!!

Today Lesley has a fun challenge for us..

Use a snowman, can do!!!

I wanted to play with this fun free digital image that I got back in December from Birdie Brown.
I so love it and it is so FUN to color!
I got to play with my copics with this, still learning with those!
The base of my card is white card stock and then a layer of real red and the DSP is from the Polka Dot Parade pack. I tried to keep it simple and just let the colored image be the star! Can you believe I used NO ribbons or pearls? The image is matted with real red and then whisper white and attached to the base with dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the retired "Four the Holidays", I stamped with black stazon, cut it out, trimmed the ends and folded into the banner.
Be sure and hop on over to Lesley's blog "Always Playing with Paper" to see what the rest of the Merry Makers did with this fun challenge.

Merry Mondays.......Merry Christmas

Merry Monday Peeps!!

So happy to be back with a card for the Merry Monday Challenges, I took a couple of weeks off cos I was feeling a bit overwhelmed. Things are still hectic but I am trying to make more time for crafting, I do miss it when I don't get to make a card for several days.

This week Lesley at Always playing with Paper has a great color challenge for us:

I reached for one of my favorite sets, Stampin Up's "Beautiful Season". You can just never go wrong with this set in my opinion, it is a must have and a never get rid of set.
I stamped the bird and holly image onto some confetti cream card stock with black stazon and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads.

The base if the card is the same confetti card stock and then the next layer is cherry cobbler and then the DSP is from a retired pack. I added an embossed flag piece with the always artichoke
The main image is cut out and matted using my circle and scallop circle nesties. I added it to the base with dimensionals. I then made a triple bow with some cherry cobbler seam binding ribbon and added a antique brad to the middle. The sentiment is from the "Open Sleigh" stamp set.

The rest of the Merry Makers have some awesome samples for your inspiration:

I hope you can find some time to play along with us,

Merry Monday.....tis the season

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Time for a new Merry Monday Challenge!

This week is an awesome sketch:

I was looking through my stamps and stumbled upon this retired Stampin Up set that I bought well over a year ago and had never used, I thought it would be perfect for this sketch. The set is called "Polar Pals" and I just love these bears, which is why I looked for it and bought it off e-bay, the set was brand new and unmounted when I purchased it so I had to cut it out and mount it. Makes you appreciate the fact that Stampin' Up sets are cut now.

I stamped the bears onto my rustic white card stock and then again on a post it note. I then stamped them a third time onto some scrap card stock. I cut out the image on the post it note and used it to mask off my image so I could sponge the BG. I used Night of Navy to sponge in the night sky and then used my white gel pen to add in the snow.

I colored in the scarfs of the bears using my aqua painter and cherry cobbler and gumball green ink pads.
I then colored in the second stamped image on the scrap paper. I cut out the head and scarf  on the large bear and added it to the main piece with some dimensionals. On the smaller bear I cut out the body and head and lifted leg and added it over the main with more dimensionals. The main image is die cut with one of the label framelits.
The base of the card is night of navy and then the next layer is more of the rustic white that I embossed with a snowflake EF. The DSP is from the Print Poetry pack.
I added a yellow embossed star and some white bakers twine.
The sentiment comes from the Polar Bear set.

Merry Monday...Seasons Greetings

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Time for a new Merry Monday Cahllenge!

This week is a fun color challenge:

These colors say "Snowman" to me, so I pulled out my Stampin Up "Snow Much  Fun" Stamp set
I stamped the snowman onto some white card stock and colored him with my aqua painter and ink pads, using the three colors.

The base of the card is basic gray and then I used another layer of gray that I embossed with a snowflake EF.
I added a piece of retired DSP across the bottom and added some white satin ribbon with a pumpkin pie button.
I used my new oval framelits to die cut the snowman out and added some scallops around him usinf the Marina Mist.
The greeting comes from the Four the Holidays stamp set. I finished the card off with a few silver pearls.
Be sure and head over to Lesley's Blog-Always Playing with Paper to see what the rest of the Merry makers did with this color challenge, I am sure you will be inspired to play along!!

Merry Monday.....Merry Christmas

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Time for a new Merry Monday Challenge,
Lesley at Always Playing with Paper has a great challenge for us this week:

It is a Tic Tac Toe Challenge:
Pick a row, any row and make your card using those elements. I used the top line,
Blue, Dry Embossing and Snow.
I love Night of Navy for Christmas Cards, combined with just white it makes a really nice combo.
I used the large Stampin' Up die for my big snowflake element. The die is called Snow Flurry and is so pretty. I used whisper white and die cut the snowflakes, it cuts three and layered them up dimensionals between each layer.

I cut the circle behind the snowflake using my circle cutter, it is a 3-5/8 inch circle I embossed with a snowflake embossing folder, as I did the white strips behind the circle.
The sentiment on here is from the Stampin Up Greetings of the Season stamp set.

Be sure and check out what the rest of the Merry Makers did with this great sketch:
