Seize the Birthday

Hello Peeps!!
I know I said in my last post that I was taking  bit of a break, and I am, but I just had to jump back  in here to let you know of  fun new challenge blog.
My sweet friend Lesley Crogran, the creator of The Merry Monday Challenges, The Paper Players Challenges, The Dynamic Duos Challenges and The Freshly Made Sketches has started a new challenge blog.

This one is called "Seize the Birthday"
and the idea is to get all those must needed Birthday cards made.
To kick things off she is having a linky party and she has invited all to spread the word, post a birthday card, new or old and link to blog.
I didn't have time to create a new card so I am posting a couple of my faves from the last couple of months.

The new challenges will start in January on the 10th. So spread the word, I know I plan on playing along as much as I can since I am always needing birthday cards.
Have a great day and
HAPPY STAMPING!!

Paper Players....Merry Christmas

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card made using the challenge this week on The Paper Players Blog.

I fell in LOVE with this adorable digi image which is a freebie from Birdie Brown
I printed out and colored with my copic markers. Here is a little close-up of the adorable image:

So cute huh?
I cut around the top part of the image and mounted some  DSP behind it. The paper comes from the Stampin Up Snow Festival pack. It is covered with snowflakes and makes it look like they are outside and fits the snowflake theme for the challenge. I then matted this with some Baja Breeze card stock.

The base of the card is white and the sentiment is from the "Greetings of the Season" set. I stamped with black stazon directly onto the base, using my stamp a ma jig to line it up.
A CAS,  and easily mailable card.

Thanks for stopping by today, I will be taking a bit of break til after Christmas, so much to do and my crafting time will be limited, I may pop in and I may not, so if not
HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you and yours

Sweet Sunday.....Merry Christmas

Happy Sunday Peeps!!!
Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

Love this sketch and I love how the main image panel kinda looks like a file folder. Cute huh?
I absolutely could not let the Holidays pass without using this sweet image from the Stampin Up "Greeting Card Kids" stamp set one more time.
She is so sweet and vintage looking,
I did dress her up a bit with some fun DSP from the "Be of Good Cheer" pack.

The base of my card is Gumball Green card stock and the DSP is matted with cream card stock.
The image is stamped with black stazon onto the cream and colored with my water brush and ink pads.
I added a few basic pearls on the tree and the girls coat. I finished it off with some Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon cos, cos well I had too....LOL!!

Be sure and check out what the rest of the team has made with this sweet sketch:

Dynamic Duos....Merry

Happy Saturday Peeps!!
Time for a new Dynamic Duos Color Challenge.

This is our final challenge for 2012 as we are taking a short break to celebrate the holidays with our families and friends. We will be back on January 5th!

Love the colors this week, perfect for those last minute Christmas cards.
I wasn't able to work in the dessert option, I tried but couldn't make it work with my CAS card.
I used the pretty Stampin Up set called Evergreen, I stamped the base tree onto some very vanilla card stock with black stazon ink. I then added the next layer, stamping with versamark and embossing with gold embossing powder.

The "merry' is a PTI die cut made with some metallic gold paper found at a local store. The star comes from the Holiday Collection Framelit Dies.

The base of the card is Very Vanilla and then the next layer is basic black.
Love how this card came out and it remains fairly flat for easy mailing.

Thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!

Another Paper Players.......Winter Wonderland

Happy Tuesday peeps!!

I am back with another card made with  this week's color challenge on The Paper Players Blog

I made this card at the same time I made the one I posted yesterday, I was playing with my PTI, In the Meadow dies and stamps, LOVE THEM!!
The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler and then I followed that up with some crumb cake and the DSP is from the Snow Festival pack.
This time I added some "coal" buttons and scarf to my little snowman. He is so cute!!
I die cut the sledder with pool party card stock and stamped my snow flakes with pool party ink. I sponged more pool party ink onto the snow hill and the snowman. before adding some stickles glitter to them.I also sponged and glittered the top of the sentiment panel.

Another great card for mailing! thanks for stopping by today!

Paper Players.....In the Meadow

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card made using the challenge this week on the Paper Players Blog, this week it is a color challenge.

I am playing with my PTI dies and stamp set called "In the Meadow".
I just love this set of dies and matching stamp set.
The only stamping is the sentiment, which is stamped with black stazon onto the hand cut snow hills.
Well.the snowflakes are stamped too, it comes from the Stampin' Up Stylin Snowfolk.
I stamped with pool party onto the pool party card stock.

The snowman and the tree and the cardinals are all die cut. Love the simplicity of this card and how flat it is for mailing.
I added some stickles to the hills and the snowman and on the snowflakes. I also added some white dots with my gel pen. I experimented with a few other accessories but in the end decided it looked best just keeping it simple.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Dynamic Duos......Warm Winter Wishes Tags

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!
Time for a new Dynamic Duos Color Challenge.

I thought about these colors for a long time, contemplating which way to go, the pretty in pink and rose red would make pretty flowers of course, but in the end, I decided to go with Christmas again. I made up some little tags using whisper white and the pretty in pink and rose red.

I cut the tags using my petite scallop nestiabilities die, I folded a piece in half and put the fold line just above the top of the die.

I die cut a circle for the next layer with some rose red card stock and the two snowflakes are whisper white and pretty in pink card stock cut with a cuttlebug snowflake die.
The sentiment comes from the Winter Memories stamp set and I added a crystal button with some white bakers twine.
I added some silver cord at the top for attaching to a present or to hang from the tree.

Be sure and hop over to the Dynamic Duos Blog to see what the rest of the design team did with these great colors.
Thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!

Paper Players....Snowman

Happy Hump Day peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card i made using the challenge this week on the The Paper Players.

The challenge this week is simple: Snowmen, gotta love that!

This little snowman is a fun little digi stamp, I have had so long I am not even sure where I got it...LOL!
He is a cutie tho and I colored him with my copic markers.

I keep it pretty CAS so the little snowman could be the star and no sentiment either, that is hard for me to not have one on the front but I just couldn't get one to work, so it will have to do!

So much to do and so little time so I am scurrying off, talk soon!

Merry Monday....Merry Christmas

Happy Monday peeps!!!

I am thrilled to announce that Lesley from Always Playing with Paper has asked me to join the Merry Monday design team for 2013.

If you not familiar with this challenge, the idea is to make a Christmas card each week,so you will have them all done come Christmas. It will definitely be a challenge for me to make Christmas type cards in the summer, I a such a seasonal stamper,  but I am up for it!

So onto this challenge:

Although our weekly challenges are finished for 2012, we have decided to have a 2 week "Any Past Sketch" Challenge here at Merry Monday! You are welcome to use any of the past Merry Monday Sketches.

I am using sketch number #25
I love a tent topper card and i had not made one it ages so this was a good opportunity.
i went with a non-traditional color pallet for my
Christmas card, i used a fave retired Stampin Up color, Concord Crush along with some Wisteria Wonder and Silver Glimmer paper.
I used the Snow Flurries die for my big ol' layered snowflake.

I used the Petite Pairs stamp set for the little "Merry Christmas" and added a large pearl to the center.
The DSP is from a retired pack, whose name eludes me at this moment, and I used some satin whisper white ribbon across the bottom.
Be sure and head over to Lesley's Blog to see what the rest of the Merry Makers did with this challenge.

Sweet Sunday.....Jolly Christmas

Happy Sunday Peeps

I am loving this sketch and it was designed by our very own Karen Motz. I loved it so much I had to make two cards with it!

I started out playing with my new set, Stampin Up's "No Peeking", I LOVE this cute little penguin, I did change the card size, making mine card a 4-1/4 inch square.
I colored the sentiment with markers and stamped onto some whisper white card stock, the penguin is also colored with my markers and stamped onto some whisper white card stock. I then cut out the sentiment circle and scallop mat with my nesties and then fussy ut out the penguin with my paper snips.

The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler card stock and then a layer of white. The pretty DSP I used is from the Snow Festival paper pack. I embossed another piece of white card stock with the square lattice EF and then added another piece of the DSP and cut the end .

The sentiment piece and the penguin are both added to the base with some dimensionals.
I finished it my card off with some silver pearls, well a lot really but I do love them!!!.

Dynamic Duos....Merry Christmas

Happy Saturday peeps!!

Time for a new  Dynamic Duos Challenge.

Pretty colors right? I was determined to make another Christmas card with these colors and I wanted to use my new Stampin Up set called "Watercolor Winter". I love to watercolor so you know this set was on the top of my must get list.
The set is actually a two step stamping set, there is a separate stamp  for the outline and another to "fill in". I just stamped the outline and colored it myself. I swear I used real red for my poinsettias, but because I used my aqua brush/water brush it looks like a really pale red. I keep going back in with more ink trying to darken the flower, but it never really attained pure "redness"......but hey I did use real red and there is poinsettias this color so I figure it is all good! :) And I do like the softness of the card the certainly celery looks nice with the cream card stock and the water colored flowers.

I "framed" my flowers by die cutting a couple of strips of celery card stock with one of the finishing touches edgelit. I then put the pieces through my crimper and cut small slits all along the straight edge of the strips which allowed me to curve them and glue around the circle.
The sentiment is from the "Greetings of the Seasons" stamp set.
I finished my card off with some basic pearls, some in the center of the flowers and in the corners.
I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week and

Paper Players....Christmas Blessings

Happy Hump Day peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge this week on The Paper Players.
This week is a sketch challenge:

I got this pretty Stampin Up set called "Christmas Blessings" back in July when the catalog first came out and promptly lost it.....I found it a few weeks back behind my stamping armoire, where it had fallen.....so I had to give it some love, can you imagine the horror??. That stamp must have felt so bad just laying back there gathering dust.
Anyway, I decide to keep it clean and simple, I stamped the pretty poinsettia with versamark onto some cherry cobbler card stock and heat embossed with some white embossing powder. I added some small silver pearls to the centers of the flower. This card is really pretty IRL, the picture seriously does not do it justice.

Can you believe I didn't add any ribbon? LOL!
The sentiment is from the same set, I just left of the "sending".

Well, that is all from me today, thanks for coming by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!

Dynamic Duos...Merry Christmas

Happy Saturday peeps!!
Time for a new challenge on the Dynamic Duos Blog.

Here are colors this week:

Midnight Muse and Silver, these colors are so pretty and they make me think of winter and or course Christmas.
I am again using the pretty silver glimmer paper from Stampin Up, this paper seriously Rocks!!
I used the new Snow Flurry Die for my pretty 3-D snowflake. I die cut one of each of the three snowflakes on the die and also used a 1 inch punch to build the snowflake. I used a dimesional between each layer and topped it all off with a big pearl. It turned out so pretty. Love it!

The rest of the card is fairly simple, base of  Midnight Muse, and then a layer of white with some silver trim along the top and bottom and then another piece of Midnight Muse that I embossed with the Lacy Brocade EF.
The pretty sentiment on here is from the Stampin Up "Greetings of the Season" stamp set and is stamped with midnight muse ink.
I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week and
Be sure and hop over to the Dynamic Duos Blog to see what the rest of the design team did with these great colors.

Merry Monday......Peace

Happy Tuesday, Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the Merry Monday  sketch this week.

When I saw the sketch I knew right away what I wanted to do, I pulled out another Papertrey purchase, the Wonderful Words Holiday Die and some of my favorite, at the moment, Stampin Up silver glimmer paper.
I pulled off a bit of the backing of the paper to be able to die cut the "Peace"
I love the look of this glimmer paper with Night of Navy card stock, they are so made to go together.

The base of my card is Night of navy and I followed that with some white card stock that I embossed with the  petals a plenty EF (I think that is the name).

The flags are made with the glimmer paper and night of navy and are mounted directly to the embossed white.
The center panel is white and navy and I embossed that piece with a music EF.
I then glued the "Peace" onto the panel and die cut a couple of snowflakes from the retired Northern Flurries die strip. I added them to the corner of the panel and put a silver pearl in the center.
This whole panel was mounted to the base with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Christmas Cheer

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card made using the challenge this week on The Paper Players Blog.

Silver or Gold? I had to make another Christmas card. I used a base of some of the Stampin Up Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations card stock. For the next layer I used some of the Silver Glimmer paper, I am so loving this paper this year, been using it on a lot of my Christmas cards. I then used another layer of the Cherry Cobbler core'dinations card stock that I embossed with the Lacy Brocade EF. I then sanded the embossed piece to bring out the core color.

I used the Stampin Up Watercolor Winter stamp set for the holly and berry image, I stamped on to some vanilla card stock with black stazon. I then used my aqua painter to color the image. I cut this out with my nestie dies and matted with a scallop of silver glimmer. I added a strip across the middle of more silver glimmer and a strip of champagne glimmer. I mounted the image to the card with some dimensionsal.  I then added a bunch of silver pearls around the scallop and in the corners, this card is so sparkly!!
The sentiment comes from the Sweet Essential stamp set and is stamped with back stazon and cut out, I hand cut the ends.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Sweet sunday.....Warm Winter Wishes

Happy Sunday Peeps!!!

Time for a new Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

Love this sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

I pulled out my Stampin Up Scentsational Season stamp set and the matching framelit dies.
I stamped my ginger with versamrk and crumb cake ink and embossed with the "Sugar and Spice" embossing powder. Man does that stuff smell good. My ginger smells good enough to eat. I made him a cute little bow tie with the heart that is on the Owl punch and added a pearl to the center.
The base of the card is Crumb Cake card stock and then I used a layer of Cherry Cobbler and then the DSP here is from the Festival of Prints pack.

The sentiment is from the Winter Memories stamp set. I used my postage stamp punch for the cherry cobbler squares and embossed with the Snow Burst EF.
I got a bit carried away with my bow and all of it's elements. I first made a double bow using some cherry cobbler seam binding ribbon and then I added a vintage faceted button with some bakers twine to the bow.
I thought it needed something more so I hand cut a  couple of holly leaves, sponged and scored and added them under the edge of the bow. Kinda of a heavy and a bit bulky card and wouldn't mail very easily but would be great tucked into a gift bag or a tray of Christmas goodies.

Be sure and check out what the rest of the team has made with this sweet sketch:
