Sweet Sunday.....Merry Little Christmas

Happy Sunday Peeps!!!

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

As you can see I flipped the sketch on its side. I wanted to use this pretty sentiment from the Stampin Up Merry Little Christmas, I love this sweet little set, just the sentiment and two elements make up this set.

I decided to use the Merry Monday Challenge this week which is to use the Chalkboard Technique.
I stamped the sentiment with Versmark onto some black card stock and embossed with white embossing powder. I then sponged on some white craft ink around to make the "chalk dust" look. The embossing makes my card stock warp a bit so I matted my black with another piece of black.

The base of my card is a 5 x 11 inch piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock folded in half. I then used a piece of white and the DSP is from the Deck the Halls pack.
I added some Cherry Cobbler seam binding across the card and then made a loopy bow. I added three white sparkly jingle bells to the bow. I love jingle bells and have a big assortment of colors but I think besides rusty ones I love these white sparkly ones the best!! I finished off with three little silver sequins. Simple but sweet! :)

Now let's see what the rest of the girls did with this fun sketch:

Thanks for stopping by today

What a beautiful card, Vicki! I love the red/black color combo and those bells are just darling. The sentiment is perfect for the chalkboard technique, too.

Hi Vicki. Love your chalkboard panel(love this sentiment too!). Your panel really looks great with that little frame of black --- it's amazing how small detail make a big impact! Love the striped red and white background and the bow with the jingle bells - perfect accent. Thanks for joining us at Merry Monday. Loll xx
