Sweet Sketch

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps!!

Today's card is made with the Sweet Sunday Sketch on Karen Giron's blog "The Sweetest Thing"

I based my card on the second one in this post on Dawn Easton's blog TreasureOiler Designz. Dawn is such a sweetheart she has given me alot of inspiration and encouragement. She has even e-mailed me a couple of times. I am so happy to have made a sweet friend like her from blogging! Thanks Dawn!

The card is 3-1/4" by 6-1/2" and will fit into the small open end envelopes from SU. I really like the size and don't know why I don't make them more often.

The paper I used is chocolate chip and baja breeze and of course the yummy Parisian DS paper. The butterflies are from the same paper and cut with the butterfly die from SU. The sentiment is from the Level 1 Hostess set called "Sweet Little Sayings", I think. Thanks to Lois for that set!

I used the SU lace edge punch and added some big ol' white brads, non-SU, and some sticky pearls in the butterfly center. I used my nesties to cut the rectangle scallop and white rectangle piece.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so mch for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Lucky Duck & A Box

Good Monday Morning Peeps! Hope you all had a great weekend!

Today's card is made with Jen's Sketch For You To Try.

I got to use my fun new set that is from the upcoming mini called "Wagons of Fun"!! I just LOVE this duck!!! It is just sooooooo adorable!!!

I started with a base of riding hood red and used some of the Washington Apple DS paper and also some bashful blue. The duck is stamped on watercolor paper and colored with my aquapainter and markers. I stamped him a couple of other times and just colored his wing and bow, cut them out and layered them up with some dimensionals.

The sentiment also comes from that same set and was stamped with black stazon and layered with bashful blue. I added a spiral brad and some bashful blue striped ribbon.

The flower is one of the dies and is cut with some so saffron and I added a build -a brad with a bashful blue center. I then finished it off with some white mini brads.

Now take a look at this fun little box:

Isn't it cute? It is made with the Movers and Shapers Die. The instructions can be found here.

I made the box at my friend and demo's house on Saturday evening. Everyone had left from the workshop and we had few minutes before I was getting picked up so we played a bit with this box.

I brought mine home and decorated it to match my card, well almost. This time I just left my cute little duckie white.

Here is a picture of the box slightly opened. It just slides like a match box.

And another view:

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

P.S. To Carol and Debbie and Lois, I was not ignoring you yesterday, I have LOST my cell phone.

Sweet Friends

Good Morning Peeps! It's Saturday and it is raining and going to snow later!!! The calendar says Spring, but you would never know it here!!!

Today's card is made with Beate's Weekend Sketch. This week Charmine is the hostess with the mostest!!!

I am still loving the new Parisian Breeze paper! It has my fave colors. I started my card off with a base of chocolate chip and then followed that with some baja and some of the DS paper.

The stamp set is "Friends 24-7" I used timber brown stazon to stamp my bird and then stamped the damask design in baja that was stamped off twice first. The sentiment is from the same set and is also stamped in timber brown stazon. I cut it out with my coluzzle and the scallop is cut out with my nesties. I added some baja ribbon and a small flower from the three flower punch with a vintage brad.

The big brads on the main image piece are from Hobby Lobby. Please ignore that they are not perfectly aligned. The brads have an offset back post. And they are almost impossible to get straight, I swear I had them in and out of the paper at least two dozen times and have numerous holes n the paper behind them. Very frustrating!!!! Good thing they are large enough to hide all the holes. I finally called it quits and said "Close Enough"!!!

Well, that is all for today, We are suppose to have a workshop at my demo Lois' place today, but if the roads get bad , it will be postponed!

Thanks again for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Baja Rose

TGIF Friday Peeps!!! We are having some crazy weather happening around these parts today. We have snow predicted!

Today's card is made with the sketch at the Stamps and Smiles Blog. I love the sketches that Mercy creates. Also I was super excited to read that I had won last weeks sketch and a fabulous new stamp set. Cuppy Love! How cool is that! Another great reason to do sketch challenges, you might win something cool!!!

So now onto today's card! I just got this Parisian Breeze DS paper and I just love it!! Now I don't know if you would ever see a baja colored rose in nature but I am sure you can get one , I know they can dye them to any color you want. So let's just pretend mine is one I purchased from the florist!!!

The rose comes from the 5th Ave. Stamp set. I don't have it yet, but had stamped off a few images on watercolor paper when I was at my demo's house. This is the last of them, so I better order it or sneak a few more images out from her this week. LOL!

I used some baja breeze and my aqua painter to color the rose and darkened it a bit with a little teal ink. I added some diamond dust to the edges of the flower with my two way glue pen, it is soooooo sparkly IRL. Here is a close up so you can see the sparkle better:

The big ol chunky corduroy brads are some I purchased from Hobby Lobby, they are made by The Paper Studio. The sentiment I used comes from the retired hostess set, "Best Yet". Love that set!

Well, that is all I have for you today, hope you enjoy my baja rose and thank you sooooooo much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Taste of Textile

Good Thursday Morning Peeps!!! I am super excited to show you my cards today! Yesterday my favorite demo Lois delivered my order to me so I had new "stuff" to play with last night. I didn't even cook dinner, just ordered pizza and went straight to my stamping table!!!

The first card is made with this weeks card sketch on splitcoast.

I started with some pacific point and some dotted vellum from the cool "Taste of Textile" paper pack. I then layered on some more pacific and some pacific DS paper from the "Good Morning Sunshine" paper. It is followed with more pacific and some shimmery white striped paper from the textile pack.

The main image is made on whisper white. I used my new "Friends 24-7" Stamp set and stamped the damask image in pacific after I had stamped it off twice on scrap. I then inked up the bird with my black stazon and stamped it directly over the blue image. I then pierced the corners and added the spiral clip with some white taffeta ribbon.

The sentiment panel is from the Congrats SAB set and is stamped in pacific ink and then layered onto some more pacific. I cut the ends to make it look like a banner.

I mounted the image panel and sentiment panel with dimensionals to the BG pieces. I added some silver brads to the corners of the square panel.

I love to decorate the inside of my cards too, I don't always show you pictures of them, but this one I wanted you to see:

OK, one more for today with some more of the Taste of Textile, this pack is really AWESOME!!

I just love kraft and chocolate chip! Probably two of my all time favorites.

This card is super simple, I used the SU "Close as a Memory" stamp set. I wanted to keep it clean to show off the textured kraft.......can you see it?

Sympathy cards are always hard for me, but I like how this one turned out.

Well, that is all for today, Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Divine Design: Humble Yourselves

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!!

Today's card is one I made for the Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge on splitcoast. This is only my second time participating in this challenge and the goal of the challenge is to upload your card by the 9th, so you can see I am a bit behind!

I printed the verse from James out on cardstock and then used one of my fav SU sets "Live Your Dream" I really love the flower in this set. I stamped it in rose red and used markers to color in the stems an leaves ad the flower center. I then stamped the flowers once more on scrap paper and cut them out and layered them over the base ones with some dimensionals. I then add a sticky back half pearl to the center of both flowers.

The DS paper is from the Raspberry Fizz pack and is layered onto piece of Rose Red cardstock. I used one of my new EK Success edge punches in white to add the zig zag edge element. The pearll brads I got from Hobby Lobby awhile back when all the brads where 50% off.

The cameo coral card stock is ran through the cuddlebug with the Swiss dot embossing folder and then attached to the base card of rose red.

That's it pretty simple and straight forward card. I do love that bible verse.

Well, that is all for today, hope you all are having a great week. Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a comment now and then, I do LOVE to read them.

HAPPY STAMPING!!

Make A Wish

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps!!! It is a stormy morning here in southwest Missouri, we even lost power very early this morning for about an hour or so!!! Spring always brings some severe storms here, they are calling for more later in the week too!

Well on to today's card.

I based my design on the the card in this post on Heather's Blog Stamp with Heather. Be sure and check out her blog, she is fantastic and makes such cute cards!!! I used Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch for my layout.

I used the same colors in the card made by Heather, Not Quite Navy, Kiwi and riding hood red. The cupcake is from the "Crazy for Cupcakes" SU set. The sentiment comes from the "Big Birthday Candle" Set. I stamped it once on each of the three colors and cut them apart to use one word in each color. The large cupcake is stamped on the PTI white cardstock and then onto the colors and cut out and pieced onto the main panel. I added some "doodles" around the edge with my black SU marker. I layered the main panel onto some riding hood red and then some kiwi kiss card stock.

The DS paper comes from last catties hostess print patterns pack. The base of the card is made with Not quite Navy. The side panel is made up of not quite navy with edges of kiwi and riding hood red.

I then layered some riding hood red over the panel and used a silver ribbon slide to add a "knot" bow to the ribbon.

The main image panel is added to the base with dimensionals.

So that's it for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Hello There

Good Monday Morning Peeps!!! How was your weekend? Mine was good, but tooooo short!!! I never have enough time to get things done lately and I get stressed and then everything ends up suffering, case in point......Today's card.

I started out with the sketch on The Stamps and Smiles Blog. The sketch is cute and fairly easy, but I almost always have to make things harder than they need to be.

After I finish my cards, I am seldom happy with them, I am very critical of what I do and you can not believe how much I struggle with most of the cards I make, I spend way to much time trying to figure out what to do and then I pick them apart after they are done.

On this one I wished I had made the scallop circle out of the summer sun color, I think it would make it look like a big ol' sun and wouldn't blend so much with the bird and the bottom panel. I also knew I wanted to put something in the upper left corner but couldn't decide on what it needed, I ended up with three silver brads, but now I wished I had tried a photo corner or maybe some white brads...?? I also think that maybe the sentiment is tooo small.

What I do like is the swirls. I borrowed this from my friend Lois. I believe it is called ......something scribbles, it is a sizzlet and she got it at Michael's I think but it is also in the SU cattie. I also like the big ol' blue bird that i used from the Good Friend set. he is very, very cute!!! The Ds paper I used is from the Good Morning Sunshine DS pack, I really love the colors in that pack.

So please take a minute if you can to tell me what you like and don't like on this card. I really appreciate your comments.

Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

I Love Sunflowers

Good Saturday Morning Peeps!! It is a rainy day here in southwest Missouri, but there are signs of spring everywhere.

My card today is more Summer than Spring, but still cheerful.

I used Beates Weekend Sketch Challenge for my card. This weekend Cambria is the host.

The card is very simple, I used the Hello Sunshine DS paper and used chocolate chip, kiwi kiss and summer sun cardstock. The "sunflowers" are made with the 5-petal flower punch, punching 4 for each flower and layering them. The leaves are made with the same punch as the flower.

The middle of the flower is a 1 inch circle of chocolate chip DS paper. I used the Ek success wavy border punch in kiwi as the base for the row of sunflowers, followed by more chocolate chip.

The sentiment is from "Trendy Trees" and stamped with timber brown stazon. I punched two butterflies, one in chocolate chip and one in summer sun. The chocolate one is glued down flat and the yellow one is just adhered in the middle. I added some sticky pearls in the center of the butterfly and some antique copper brads to the corners and pierced all around the edge.

Well, That is all for today, Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Leftovers

Happy Spring Peeps! Hard to believe that March is almost over! I am sooooo ready for some warmer weather.

Today's card is made with some of the Cherry Blossom flowers I had left over from the card I made at my friend Lois' house on Sunday. I used the same colors and Designer paper.

The base of the card is riding hood red cut at 4-1/4 by 8-1/2 inches and folded in half. I followed that with some close to cocoa and then some of the DS paper from the Candy Lane DS paper. I wanted to keep the center elements fairly small as not to cover up the pretty BG designer paper. It is made up of riding hood red that I used the lace edge punch on one side followed by some more of the DS paper from the same pack. I followed that with a small horizontal piece of riding hood red and some more DS paper. The flower element starts with a very vanilla scallop circle that I ran through the cuddlebug with my swiss dot embossing folder. Then the leaves are made with my 5 petal flower punch and cut it up to make leaves, I scored lines down the center of the leaves with my bone folder. The flower itself is riding hood red and is two blossoms, one is cut down and sponged and layered onto the other with dimensionals. I topped it off with a Martha Stewart sticky pearl.

The sentiment is from the Small Sayings set and is stamped with riding hood red ink onto very vanilla card stock. I hand cut the banner end. I added a flower brad to the sentiment piece and silver brads to the corners. The pink pirouette ribbon is attached to the corner with a small spiral clip. The whole mail panel is attached to the base with more dimensionals.

Well, That is all for today, thanks again for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Where Did the Week Go?

Good Thursday Morning Peeps! Where did my week go? I have been battling this nasty ol' flu bug since last Friday, I have a good day and then a couple of bad ones and then another good, today I woke up feeling pretty good, but at the time I am typing this I feel a bit light headed again! YUCK!!! Will it ever end? I appreciate the people who have checked on me, worried about me not posting and just generally caring, it is like chicken soup for the soul. Friends GOOD!!!

On to today's card, I actually made this one on Sunday, while stamping with friends. and I apologize in advance if I inadvertently spread this nasty bug around by being out on Saturday and Sunday.

I had printed out Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge, this weekend hosted by The Fabulous Jenn Balcer. I had taken some DS paper with me to use for the sketch and had to "borrow" a couple sheets of cardstock from my friend Lois. I also used her stamp set and her Cherry Blossom die, which I just ordered. It is so pretty!

I used the DS paper "Candy Lane" and cardstock colors are riding hood red, very vanilla, and close to cocoa. The Sentiment comes from the SU set "On Your Birthday". Lois helped me some with this card, her suggestion to use the pretty ribbon across the bottom and the rhinestone brads in the flower middles.

I really like how the card turned out. It is a 5-1/4 x 5-1/4 inch square card.

I missed Tuesday and St. Patty's day but I wanted to show you the little boxes I made for the girls I stamp with.

Last Monday the Technique Challenge on Splitcoast where these
cute little Treat Purse's That is the pattern I used for my St. Patty Day Treat Bags.

Here is a picture of an open one:

This is how I wanted them all to look, but because I got sick I didn't get them completely finished, I hope the girls still liked them. After all, Friends are OUR POT OF GOLD! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope to have something new for you tomorrow. HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Fifth Avenue Rose

Good Monday Morning Peeps!! Hope you all had a great weekend!! I spent some time Saturday and Sunday at my friend and Stampin' UP demo's house, stamping, along with some great friends, we laughed and stamped and ate and had a AWESOME time!!!

While I was there I stamped me off a few of the roses from the Fifth Avenue Stamp set. I love that set and it is on my wish list, but let's be frank here, almost all stamp sets are on my "wish list"!!! LOL!!!

I used Jen's Sketch For you to Try for the layout on this card.

The card base is made with ruby red and that is followed with Shara sand and then some of the textured DS paper from the Sweet Slumber pack. The striped piece below the rose is from the same pack. The sentiment come from the Bella Flower Stamp set. I used some white taffeta ribbon and ruby red brads as well. The rose is stamped on watercolor paper with black stazon and water colored with ruby red ink and my aqua painter. Ruby red is the only color used on the rose, so pretty the variety of pink to deep red you can get with that color. I then cut it out and mounted it onto the top panel with dimensionals. The panel under the rose is ruby red and whisper white card stock that I pierced the corners of with my piercing tool and mat pack.

Well, that is all for today, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Because I Care

Good Saturday Morning Peeps! So sorry about not blogging yesterday, I woke up so very sick, yuck!!!

Anyway, this card was actually the one I would have posted on Friday. I had seen
this adorable card and I wanted to try something with my curly label punch.

I started with a base of Shara sand and ran that piece through the cuttlebug with my swiss dot folder, leaving the bottom out.I then used riding hood red and baja to make the panel to layer on the curly label pieces. I used the DS paper from SU called Sweet Slumber. It is some of the new textured paper and is so pretty. I just love the colors in it.

I punched butterflies out in baja and added them along with some bling, sticky rhinestones.

The sentiment is from the retired hostess set "Best Yet". I used a riding hood red button by the sentiment for some added interest. I also tied some baja ribbon around the base card under the main panel. The panel and the curly label punches ore both up on dimensionals.

Well, that's all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!!

I Miss You

Good Thursday Morning Peeps!

Today's card is made for two challenges on Splitcoast. The color challenge on Tuesday was to use basic Black, Always Artichoke and Rose Red and today's Ways to Use It Challenge is to use green.

I started with a base of basic black, followed with some always artichoke and then basic black again. I then used some always artichoke DS paper. I cut a top note die out and used that for my main image panel. I stamped the tree from SU's Branch Out set in chocolate chip and then made the leaves in artichoke. I stamped the boots with artichoke twice, once on the main image and then again on some scrap, cut them out and mounted them with a pop dot over the first pair. The rose red came into the card in the way of my butterflies, small amount, but still there. I stamped the bird with black and cut it out and glued him on the tree.

Wen the new catalog came out there was a thread on splitcoast about this set and how many of them did not "get" the boots. They made perfect sense to me.

In the summers we spent alot of time at my grandparents. They had a huge garden and we all had to help out with it. At the edge of the garden there was a huge tree with a table under it where we would all sit after working or when we needed a break. I remember there was almost always a pair of muddy boots by the tree, where someone had took them off after coming in from the garden. As a kid I did not like working in the garden that much, but looking back now it was great times and the best food came from that garden we eat on it all winter, the green beans, the potatoes, the tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, corn, squash, okra, peppers, you name it and grandma always had a few rows of flowers at one end.

Anyway, that is my card for today, a tribute to my grandparents and their garden! I miss them both!

Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Botanical Blooms

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!! Hope you are having a great week so far.

Today's card is made with the sketch on Karen Giron's blog The Sweetest Thing.

I used a Botanical Bloom set from SU's Sale-a-Bration. This is a fun little set to work with. You can use the outline image, as I did here, or you can stamp the middle. I began by stamping my flowers onto watercolor paper, and then some leaves stamp randomly around the flowers. I then stamped several leaves and flowers onto scrap watercolor paper. I then "colored" them all in with my aqua painter and ink squished into the lid of my riding hood red and kiwi kiss ink pads.

I then started to cut them all out to layer. The flowers cut fairly easily, the leaves where a bit more tricky and takes much patience, grasshopper!!! LOL! I layered them up a couple of times on the flowers and once on the leaves with dimensionals.

After getting them all the way I wanted I took my crystal effects and covered the flowers and leaves. I then sprinkled just a bit of diamond dust onto the flower centers. I then sit that piece aside to dry.

Here is a closeup of the flowers, they are very pretty and sparkly IRL!

The base of the card is made with Riding Hood Red Card stock followed by some regal rose and the DS paper is from the Bella Rose pack. The Kiwi kiss piece is punched at the bottom with the new lace edge punch and I added silver brads to the middle of each scallop. I matted the main panel with regal rose and riding hood red. I edge punched the riding hood red piece with the lace punch as well. I pierced around the inside edge, added a strip of kiwi kiss satin ribbon across the bottom and the sentiment is from the SU set "All Holidays". I punched it out with my small oval punch and then used the large oval to mat with regal rose. I also added two silver brads to it. I pierced around the outer edge of the card at the top and sides down to the kiwi stip not sure you can see that in the picture tho.

The main image panel was mounted to the card with dimensionals after allowing to completely dry.

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Blooming Love

Good Morning Peeps!

Today's card is made with a fun new to me set from SU called "Blooming with Love". This is a great set to color. Either watercolor or with your markers or whatever you like. The only problem I had was with the wheelbarrow, I have this same problem anytime I try to watercolor with brown, it tends to turn yucky, sorta red and yucky. I just ended up paper piecing it. Next time I will just make it gray.

I stamped the flower pots and the watering can on separate scraps of watercolor paper and colored them and then cut them out and popped them up with some dimensionals.

I used rose red and old olive to color in the flowers and grass area. I used basic gray for the watering can and alot of really rust for the flower pots.

I used my slit punch to thread my ribbon through and tied a knot to the side. I also used the new SU edge punch for the chocolate chip layer which is some DS paper form the bella rose pack, the same paper used for the wheel barrow.

The challenge this week on the Our Creative Corner Blog was to add a doodle. I added some doodles around my main image panel and also around the sentiment circle.

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Sweet Friend

Good Monday Morning Peeps!!! Hope ya'll had a great weekend!

Today's card is made with this weeks sketch on Jen's Blog, I heart to Stamp.

I am so in love with the colors in this card. The DS paper is some of the new textured paper from SU. This one is called Sweet Slumber. I am just a country girl at heart and these colors are so warm and homey together, everything I make with it just seems so "country".

I started of with a base of ruby red and followed that with some so saffron and some striped paper. I pierced all around that layer with my piercing tool and mat pack. The vertical layer is baja and some polk-a-dot DS paper.

The next layer is ruby red and so saffron with ruby red brads in the corners. I stamped the main sentiment piece onto some PTI white cardstock and cut it out with my circle nesties and my cuddlebug. I then cut a scallop circle to mat the sentiment with. I of course pierced the scallops. I used my slit punch to punch the slits for the ribbon to go through. The ribbon is from the SAB ribbon bundle in so saffron and I tied a big ol' bow. mounted my sentiment with some dimensionals and added a pretty punched butterfly.

I have to take a moment here to send a shout out to my cyber friend Nancy, she does a weekly pick of her favorite cards and projects on her blog iStamp and this week she picked one of my cards. Thanks Nancy, your the bestest!!!

Well, that's all I got for you today. Thank you so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!!

Trendy Trees Weekend Sketch

Good Saturday Morning Peeps!

Today's card is made for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. This weekend Sharon is the hostess of the challenge.

I love this sketch! I used my new set "Trendy Trees". The stamp-a-ma-jig is a must have tool with this set!

I again used some of my new paper as well the DS paper called Good Morning Sunshine, i think that is the name, I guess I should check these things out better before I start typing! LOL!!!

The tree tops are stamped in kiwi kiss ink onto PTI White cardstock. Then this is where you need your stamp-a-ma-jig, to line up the tree trunk stamp. It is stamped with chocolate chip ink. I used my aquapainter to color in a little ground under the trees. I layered that onto a piece of CC cardstock. I used dimensionals to mount that onto the DS piece, which has a layer of kiwi behind it and it was punched with one of my new Fiskar edge punches. I used some big ol' white brads on the side. This layer was also put on with dimensionals.

The next layer is some summer sun DS paper from that above mentioned pack and it was also layered onto some kiwi cardstock. then the whole thing was layered onto a base of chocolate chip.

My sentiment is from the set also and was stamped with cc ink onto some scrap white and punched out with the word window punch. I then used a slightly larger piece of CC to make the mat for the sentiment piece and I used the corner rounder punch on it. I then punched out a flower with kiwi and added a small white brad to the center of it. The whole sentiment piece is also mounted with dimensionals to the base.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and Have a great weekend and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!!

Hello There

TGIF Peeps! Hope you guys had a great week and are looking forward to an even better weekend!

Today's card is made with some new stuff! I just got the set Cheep Talk. It is adorable, those birds are tooooooo stinkin' cute. I got some matchy DS paper "Good Morning Sunshine" I think is the name.

The card is fairly easy and straight forward. I did stamp the birds onto some scrap paper and cut out and pop up.

I added some silver brads I got from Hobby Lobby and the other corner element is made up of kiwi satin ribbon at an angle with an angled piece of pacific layer in. I added some piercing, of course.

I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to add the sentiment, and I got just a touch of ink on the paper from the stamp where it doesn't belong, just pretend you don't see that. I did toy with the idea of adding some doodled musical notes to cover it up, but in the end decided not to because I wasn't sure it would look right and I didn't want to have to start all over if I flubbed it up!!!

Be sure a stop by my my friends blog where I am guest blogging for her while she is out of town.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Hoppy Birthday Dad

Good Thursday Morning Peeps!

Last fall I saw this cute frog card made by Heather on her blog Stamp with Heather and made a mental note to try it someday.

Well that frog has been calling to me lately, actually there is a reason, My Dad loved frogs and collected all kinds of them, ceramic, glass, stuffed, big, small, whatever, if if was a frog he liked it. He had a huge collection. He passed away a few years ago, in 2000, but his birthday is coming up, it would have been March 8th, so I decided to make this card in his honor.

When I sit down to make it I had no idea about the card, I just made the cute little frog first. He is made with punches, the head is the wide oval punch, eyes are made up of the 3/4 inch, 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch circle punches. The belly is made of the 1-3/8 inch and 1-1/4 inch circle punches. His legs are the small oval punch and his feet are made from the Three Flower Punch. Super simple and ohhhhhhh so cute. I followed Heathers directions to make the waves using the slit punch. I made two sets to put on my card. I then cut a piece of baja cardstock to use as my base it is a 4-14 inch square.

As I was digging through my stash of DS paper looking for something that would look well with my frog, I had a light bulb moment, I could make some cattails for the BG with the grass from the "inspired by Nature" set. That would be really cute for my pond scene I was trying to create for my little Froggy!

I cut a piece of whisper white card stock 4 x 4 and stamped the grass with old olive ink. I then found a scrap of chocolate chip cardstock and punched out a few cattail heads with my slot punch and glued them onto the grass.

I added my first layer of the pond waves onto the white. Then I made the lily pad my frog is sitting on with a small nestie and cut a slit type opening and sit my frog onto the pad. I put a couple of dimensionals behind his head. I then layered the second set of pond waves over the top with some more dimensionals.

I don't have any frog type sentiments so I just printed the "Hoppy Brthday" out with my printer and punched it out with the word window punch and glued it down.

So there you have a "Hoppy Birthday" Froggy card. I think he is really cute. I know my Dad would have loved him!

Happy Birthday DAD, Love you and miss you!

So that's all for today, I can't type anymore because the tears are welling up, thanks so much for stopping by today, HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Just Buzzin' By

Good Morning Peeps!

Today's card is made with the Sweet Sunday Sketch on Karen Giron's Blog The Sweetest Thing.

The card is made with the fun SU set "Buzzin' By". I stamped one of the little bees onto my white circle, that I had cut out with my nesties, and colored him in with my aquapainter and some more mustard and blush blossom ink. I added just a hint of bashful blue to his wings and then covered the wings with some stardust stickles.

The sentiment is stamped onto some scrap paper and then I cut out by hand the words I wanted to use and mounted them onto some more mustard cardstock and then cut that out and glued to the circle.

The base of the card is made from more mustard card stock, that just seems like the bee color to me, I know they are probably more like yo-yo yellow, but I am afraid to pull that color out, it hasn't seen the light of day ever and who knows what might be growing in there with it!!! LOL!!!

I then used some basic black and some more mustard print patterns paper. I added some black satin ribbon I found in my stash and some black brads to the corners of both layers.

Well that is all for today, thanks again for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Celebrate

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps!

Today's card was made for the OCC Sketch Challenge and I was heavily influenced by this card on Chat's blog Me, My Stamps and I she is a fabulous talent and so very sweet!

I just love black and white cards don't you? This card uses the SU "inspired by Nature set and I stamped the grass in kiwi, the only other color on this card .

This next card is the same sketch just flipped and I used my new set "Quilt Quips".

Not much chit-chat today, I have alot to get done and I think all my cards are pretty self-explanatory anyway. If you have any questions just let me know!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!!

2 Cards 1 Sketch for you to try

Good Monday Morning Peeps! I want to start off with the winner of my card posted on Friday seen here. I used random .org and it picked # 9. That would be:

This card is awesome! You do some great cards. I wish I had your talent

Thanks Debbie, I will get you the card and goodies ASAP. If you want to shoot me an e-mail with your addy I will get them out to you.

Now onto today's card. I have been so jealous of all the great cards I have been seeing lately with SU's new set "Friends 24-7" I love that bird, and since I don't have that set......yet, I decide I would pull out my almost never used set, "Touch of Nature" and use the bird from it for my card.

I started with Jen's Sketch for you to Try. I first stamped the bird onto some watercolor paper with black stazon and then again onto some scraps of watercolor paper and I also stamped the leaves with berries onto the scraps too. I watercolored the bird very lightly with some baja blue and my aquapainter. I used old olive for the leaves and some bravo burgundy for the berries, again keeping it all very light as I wanted a soft aged effect. I also lightly inked in my BG around the bird with baja. I cut out the bird and the leaves and berries from my scrap and mounted the onto the main panel letting a few go outside the box. I pierced the edges with my piercing tool and mat pack, can you see where I got off a bit on one side, I didn't want to start over, so I just added a few more leaves hoping it would make the boo-boo less noticeable.

Te base of the card is baja, followed by shara sand and some DS paper I got at Hobby Lobby, that matches baja perfectly. The bottom dotted piece is from the SU sweet slumber pack.

The sentiment is from the retired set "Best Yet" and is stamped onto watercolor paper and cut out with my 1-3/8" circle punch and mounted onto Shara sand that was punched with the scallop circle punch and of course I pieced the scallops. I added some baja ribbon and a Shara strip that was edge punched.

This next one is a manly card I think, and they are hard for me.

I used the same sketch as above, with the top note die and the SU set "Branch Out".

The base of the card is kraft followed with some always artichoke DS paper. I really didn't know what to use for the sentiment on this one, so I just ended up with this simple one. The addition of the flower is probably the only non-manly part of the card. I found some twill tape ribbon in my stash and used it along with some 1/4" artichoke grosgrain. Tied a knot onto the layered ribbon with some more artichoke and a silver ribbon slide. The bottom is two layers of kraft and artichoke punched with a MS zig-zag edge punch.

Well, that is all for today, Thank you so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!!
