Stippled Rose Birthday

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Today's card features the challenge at

I used just the sketch.
I love the retired Stippled Blossom stamp set and I decide to give it a bit of love again.
This card is so much prettier in person, for some reason it didn't photograph well.

I used Daffodil Delight for the roses and Pear Pizzazz for the leaves.

My base is thick Whisper White and then another layer of white embossed with the Basket
Weave EF.
I added a strip of Daffodil Delight.

I fussy cut a butterfly from some DSP and added it to my flowers.

I stamped and cut out the sentiment from the You're Inspiring stamp set.

I finished with a few little basic rhinestones.

Thanks for coming by.

Freshly Made Sketches........Hello

Happy Thursday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week on

I pulled out a fave set, Stippled Blossoms, sadly this set is on the retiring list. Sorry to see it go, but I am hoping the new catalog will have a lot of new sets that I love, fingers crossed.
Yesterday Hubby and I spent some time going to some flea markets, which always gets my primitive bone fired up!
This time I was looking for garden inspiration, things to use and repurpose in my new flower garden that I am doing this year.
I have several ideas, we will see if my vision works out like I am hoping.
Anyway when I sit down to make my card I had gardening on my mind and my love for primitive as well
I wanted to make something to echo those thoughts.
Woodgrain Background and roses, what could be better?

The woodgrain BG is stamped on Crumb Cake card stock with Crumb Cake ink, I believe, This is a piece I had stamped when I had my friends BG stamp here, so that was easy.
The flowers are Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral ink, the leaves are Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi.
I attached the flowers to a white piece with some foam tape and then tucked the leaves around here and there. I matted this piece with some Early Espresso card stock.
My strips across the bottom are two sizes of more Early Espresso card stock,
I stamped the "hello" sentiment with versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder.
The sentiment is from the Hello December stamp set and I just masked off the December portion.
I finished it off with a few enamel dots.
Thanks for coming by today.

Color Challenge.....Thank You Blossoms

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!

I was off work today and since it is a scorcher here is Southwest MO, I decide I would spend some time at my stamping table.
I took a peek over at Splitcoast at this week's Color Challenge and was elated to find the challenge was called "All Abloom" and we had alot of colors to choose from.

and

Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, Pistachio Pudding and Strawberry Slush, choose any three or choose them all. The neutral this week is white.

I choose Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding and Lost Lagoon.

I love the leaves in the Stampin Up Kinda Eclectic  and I decide to pair them up with another fave set from Stampin Up called Stipple Blossoms. I inked up the flower base with Strawberry Slush ink and stamped it off once on scrap paper before stamping on my whisper white card stock. I stamped the overlay to the flower with Strawberry Slush ink full strength. The leaves are stamped with Pistachio Pudding ink and then all the flower and leaves are hand cut out with my paper snips. I stamped the sentiment from the Wetlands stamp set onto more whisper white and used a circle die to cut out. I then arranged my leaves and roses around the circle.

The base of the card is PTI white card stock and the Lost Lagoon DSP is from the Moonlight pack.
I added a small strip of Lost Lagoon card stock down the edge of the DSP.
I added the center piece to the card base with some dimensionals. The edges are slightly over the edge of the card base on both sides, and I am OK with that.
I finished off with a row of basic pearls on the lost lagoon card stock strip. I did keep the BG on my pretty clean and simple so that the pretty leaves and flowers could be the "stars".

Sweet Sunday....Miss You Already

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

It is Sweet Sunday Sketch Day

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

I started  my card with a base of Crumb Cake card stock. I stamped randomly with a few images from the retired French Foliage stamp set using crumb cake ink.
I sponged the edges as well with crumb cake.
I layered a strip of DSP across the middle that is from the Gingham Garden pack and matted with Strawberry Slush cardstock.

The main panel is a piece of Frist Edition DSP that I painted with a some watered down white craft paint.
I curled and roughed up the edges a bit while the paper was still damp.
I sat it aside to dry and stamped my flowers from the Stippled Blossom stamp set. I used Strawberry Slush and Old Olive ink, stamping of once for the bottom layer and full strength for the top.

I added the flowers to the main panel with some dimensionals and then layered it onto the card base with more dimensionasl. The sentiment is from the retired Really Retro stamp set. I finished it off with some basic pearls.

Now let's see what the rest of the girls did with this fun little sketch:

Sweet Sunday........Hey There

Hello Peeps!!!

Here is the Sweet Sketch Karen has for us this week:

Since I am still waiting for my large SU order to arrive I pulled out a fave set of mine the Stampin Up Stippled Blossom. I paired it up with some Gingham Garden DSP and some Melon Mambo card stock.
I stamped the roses with Melon Mambo and the leaves with Old Olive ink (stamping off once for the base stamp and full strength for the top stamp.)

The sentiment is from my first Paper Pumpkin kit. I added some silver thread across the middle and some basic pearls on the scallops and the top corners of the card.
And a little peek of the inside:

Today we are excited to welcome two fabulous ladies to out Sweet Sunday Sketch team,
The amazingly talented Jodi Collins, (I am a huge fan of her work and she is the sweetest girl) and the equally amazing Lisa Henke, her work is always over the top!

Sweet Sunday.....Oh, Hello

Happy Sunday peeps!!

Here is our Sweet Sketch for this week:

I decided to pull out a fave set of mine, the Stampin Up Stippled Blossoms.
I, of course, wanted to use a bit of the new Gingham garden DSP so that decided my color.
I stamped the flowers with Regal Rose and Melon Mambo on whisper white.
The lighter looking flower is the regal stamped off once. I can't really decide which I like better, the lighter or darker flower, they are both pretty.

The base of the card is White and then some Melon Mambo and then more white that I embossed with the Perfect Dots EF. I then embossed and cut two pieces of card stock, one white and one Melon, using one of the Delicate Designs EF. I added my strip of the gingham DSP on the side.
The sentiment is from the Oh,  Hello stamp set.

Be sure and check out what the rest of the team has made with this sweet sketch:

Dynamic Duos.....Birthday Wishes

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!

It is time for a new color challenge at Dynamic Duos.

This is my last design as a design team member, my 6 month term has came to an end.
Being a part of this team has been a fantastic experience, designing and working beside some of the best!
I want to thank Lesley and Anne Marie for inviting me to be on this fabulous team!

Now on to this awesome color combo!!! I think it such a pretty combo. I knew right away what I wanted to do and what set I would use. The Stampin Up Stippled Rose is perfect! This is a two step stamp set and I stamped one of the base flower with Blushing Bride and then over stamped it with Calypso Coral, then the second rose is made with only Calypso Coral, I just stamped off the the first layer of Calypso and then used it full strength  for the top stamp. I used Crumb Cake ink for the leaves, stamping the base leaf with the Crumb Cake ink once and the top, line stamp, with crumb cake three times. A stamp a ma jig is a must for me with this set!

I used Crumb Cake for the base and then a layer of Blushing Bride. The DSP I used comes from the Tea for Two paper pack.
I colored some vanilla seam binding ribbon using my calypso coral ink pad. I tied an triple loop bow and added an antique brad to the center. The sentiment is from the Occasional Quotes stamp set.
I finished it off with some basic pearls in the top corners and I added a few to the flower centers.
Be sure and hop on over to the Dynamic Duos Blog  to see what the rest of the team did with these colors!

Thanks for stopping by today!

The Paper Players Color Challenge

Happy Hump Day Peeps, hope your week is going well so far.

I don't normally share much on my blog about my personal life but since I have had several e-mails about things I thought I would take a moment to share.
August 1st DH had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital via an ambulance. He had a heart catherization and 4 stents. But as the doctor said to me afterwards- that was only secondary to his big problem, his heart muscle is very diseased more so than it should be for a man his age and is only functioning at 15% of what it should be. He said it is more than likely that he will never be able to work again. He is doing well now after a second trip to the hospital, just have to be careful. Needless to say we have had alot of things to work out. We will get there, but sure wouldn't mind a few prayers if you are so inclined.

Anyway I took a little time on Sunday to make a couple of cards, I had a sweet etsy customer ask for some Anniversary cards so I looked around for a couple of challenges to spur me forward. I always love the challenges on  The Paper Players Blog and went there to check it out. It was this nice color challenge:

I created the two shades of cherry cobbler for the flowers by simply stamping off the first layer once and then full strength on the second layer. I did the same  with the leaves and the crumb cake ink.
I used the night of navy for my sentiment.
The DSP and sentiment piece is from a Simply Sent kit.

I used cherry cobbler for the base and the next layer is crumb cake and then some white that I embossed with the perfect dots folder.
I added some silver sticky pearls (non SU) to the top corners and the sentiment piece.
I do love this flower stamp from Stampin Up called "Stippled Blossoms".

Well, that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!

Dynamic Duos....Sending Sympathy

Happy Monday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using this week's challenge on the Dynamic Duos Blog.

The colors this week are Poppy Parade and Basic Black, with a dessert option of using punches.

I had a sweet Etsy customer ask for some Sympathy cards, so I decide to use this challenge to make one of them. As you will recall I have been working on my Clean & Simple card making skills.
I think this qualifies, I did struggle a bit with this one, thinking it needed "something", finally I just decided to leave it as is.

I used the Stamping Up "Stippled Blossoms" stamp set for this beautiful rose. I achieved the two colors of red  by stamping off the base part of the rose once then added the shaded part of the rose with full strength color.
The sentiment on here comes from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set and is stamped with black stazon ink. I used my 1-1/4 inch circle punch to punch out the sentiment and the black mat is made with the 1-3/8 inch circle punch.
There is a couple of sneak peeks on here from the new Stampin Up Holiday Catalog, I used the new Window Frames Framelit Dies for the white base the flower is mounted on. I embossed this piece with the Woodgrain EF.

I was surfing the web over the weekend looking at some of the pics and highlights people had posted about the SU convention and I happened upon this picture of one of the many, many display boards:

See the card I put a circle around?
I believe that is one of my cards!
Silly I know but it made my day!
I know thousands and thousands of cards are made and sent to SU, I think this one was made it's way to them from some of my Control Freaks swaps, but I still felt a bit proud!
Anyway, no big deal I know to anyone but ME!!! So forgive me!! :)

That's all for today, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Paper Players....Color Challenge

Happy Sunday peeps!!!

The challenge this week at the The Paper Players is a beautiful color challenge:

I told you all last week that I had been working on doing some Clean and Simple designs. I gave it another go round with this challenge, not that I will always being doing CAS but I sure would like to develop that side of my card making.
I pulled out another favorite stamp set from the Stampin Up catalog called "Stipple Blossoms" for this card.
I achieved the two tones of the colors by off stamping the first stamp onto scrap paer and then onto my whisper white card stock. For the second step on these flowers I stamped the color at full strength.

The sentiment on here is from the "Blooming with Kindness" stamp set.

Be sure and visit The Paper Players Blog to see what the others did with these fun colors. Thanks so much for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

The Paper Players

Happy Sunday Peeps!!!

Today I am excited to share that Lesley from  The Paper Players asked me to fill in for a month while one of the Players was on vacation!! I was honored and happily agreed!
This week the challenge is a sketch from Lesley:

I pulled out another favorite new Stampin Up sets called "Stippled Blossoms". This set is gorgeous which makes it easy to make a pretty card, and you all know love flowers.
This time I used a couple of retired things along with some current. I stamped the flowers with wisteria and concord crush (retired) inks. The leaves are done with luck limeade and artichoke. I then used my trusty paper snips and cut them all out. I added them to the white embossed piece with some dimesionals. Just arranging til I got something I like.

The DSP on here is the other retired item on my card, it comes from the Sweet Shop paper pack.
The sentiment is from the "Curly Cute" stamp set.
I added some wisteria bakers twine and a few basic pearls to finish it off.

Be sure and visit The Paper Players Blog to see what the others did with this fun sketch.
Thanks so much for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Happy, Happy Birthday

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!

Just popping in her with a quick share of  card I put together, I was making this for a challenge, but I sorta strayed a bit so I am just sharing it here.

I have a few new favorites on her, this Stampin Up set called "Stipple Blossoms" is so pretty and I used a couple of the new in colors, Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals. I have to say that I LOVE the Raspberry.
I first stamped the flowers with Primrose and then the darker shadows are Raspberry. I did my leaves with Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi.

The base of the card is Raspberry Ripple card stock. I then used a piece of whisper white and embossed it with the perfect dot EF. The DSP on here is some I had left over from a Simply Sent kit and it matches the Raspberry very well.
I added some Raspberry Ribbon and some silver pearls.
The sentiment is fromm the retired Happiest Birthday Wishes, I just used my stamp a ma jig to stamp the "Happy" twice.

That is all from me thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!
