Paper Players-Summer Challenge

Happy Thursday peeps!!

Today I am sharing a couple of cards made using the challenge this week on the Paper Players Blog.
The challenge is to create a project showcasing something that represents Summertime to you.
Well, these flowers from the Stampin Up "Inspired by Nature" stamp set, now retired, certainly does that for me! I created two cards using this set making one in yellow and one in purple.

I also used the Stampin Up "French Foliage" stamp set to "age" my images. Using the script and water splotches stamps. I then sponged the edges heavily with some early espresso ink.
I kept the rest of the details on the cards pretty simple, just a scruncy bow with an antique brad, a couple more brads at the top and a tiny sentiment.

The base of both cards are Early Espresso card stock and then the yellow flowers image is matted with daffodil delight card stock and the purple flower image is matted with some retired card stock, pale plum.

I used some crumb cake seam binding ribbon to make the scrunchy bows. I just wadded a bunch up in my hand and then wet it and kept it all scrunched up while drying it carefully with my heat tool. then i just looped it back and forth to make a loopy bow and added my antique brad to the center.
I added the main image panels to the base of the card at a slight angle. I do love me a tilted panel from time to time!!!

Well, that is all from me, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

CAS153.......With Sympathy

Happy Tuesday peeps!!
Today I am sharing a card I made using the Clean & Simple challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers. I like how this came out altho clean & simple is not a style I tackle that often as I tend to embellishment to much.
The CAS challenge was a sketch inspired by the card shown using the color block technique shown in the sample.
I had never really tried this technique and I think most people do it by inking an acrylic block and stamping it directly on the paper, I tried  that but really didn't like my results so I took a scrap piece of card stock and cut a square in the middle and used that to create my blocks. I sponged the colors into the opening using Marina Mist and pear Pizzazz.

I then inked up the flower image from the Stampin Up "Inspired by Nature" stamp set with some black ink and stamped it on the card stock.
The sentiment is from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set and is also stamped with black ink.
I matted this piece with some Marina Mist card stock and then added it to the base of Confetti Cream card stock. I added three silver pearls for my only embellishments.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

OCC...Au Natural

Good Saturday Morning PEEPS!!!

It is time for another new challenge over at the Our Creative Corner Blog. This week our challenge hostess is Linda, the funkie junkie and her challenge for us is:

Au Naturel with a twist - Au Naturel. Create a project using ONLY neutrals (and gold/silver OR metallics). The main project must use only pale neutrals (ivory, white, beige, tan, grey) with darker neutrals (dark grey, brown, black) as accents only. The twist is to include lace and buttons.

I choose Crumb Cake aka Kraft for my neutral. I used the Stampin' Up Inspired by Nature stamp set. I inked up one of the flowers with whisper white craft ink and used my daffodil delight and old olive markers. I stamped one flower onto the crumb cake piece and then did the same two more times onto some scrap crumb cake. I cut out two of the flowers and added them to the piece with some dimensionals. I embossed another small piece with the vintage wall EF and added it to the bottom portion of the panel.  The sentiment which is from the Stampin' Up Upsy Daisy stamp set was stamped with black stazon. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up.

I added my twist elements, the lace and the button across the panel. I used some sticky to gather the crochet trim and hold it in place. I then threaded some silver cording through the button and tied a bow. I used my glue gun to adhere it to the card. I added two silver pearls to the top corners. That and the silver cord is my metallic! I think I got it all there!

I hope you’ll play along this week and have fun with this challenge! Be sure to check out the rest of the OCC design team creations! To play along, upload your creation to your blog or gallery, then leave a comment linking to your project over at Our Creative Corner so we can check it out. If you upload to SCS, remember to use keyword: OCCC.

Well, that is all from me for now, Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

FTL104.....Miss You Already

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!

Today's card share is made with the Fall to Layout #104 on the Clean & Simple Blog.

I am not sure I worked it all out to match the sketch but I was determined to use this beautiful black eye Susan from the SU "Inspired from Nature" stamp set. I stamped the flowers with some chalk ink onto my white card stock. I layered that onto some Early Espresso card stock. I used my MS daisy chain punch and some summer sun 1/4 inch grosgrain ribbon. The sentiment comes from the retired "Really Retro" stamp set and is stamped with Early Espresso ink. I used my stamp a ma jig and it is still a bit crooked, the ribbon had already been added so it was hard to hold the stamp a ma jig handle in place. To finish I added another strip of early espresso that I had embossed with an EF.

I do love this flower image! What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!
