Fusion Happy Birthday

Happy Wednesday Peeps!!!

Today's card share is made using the challenge at

I just used the sketch part of the challenge.

I pulled out my SAB Thoughtful Blooms stamp set and the matching Small Bloom punch.

I stamped the flowers using Bermuda Bay ink, stamping off once to get a lighter shade for some of them.
I stamped the leaves using Mint Macaron, stamping off on these as well to get two shades for the leaves.

The base of the card is thick Whisper White and then a layer of Crumb Cake card stock.
I then used another piece of whisper white and embossed the bottom half with the Coastal Weave EF.

I arranged he flowers around my stamped sentiment which is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.
I stamped with Black Memento ink onto a die cut from the Painted Labels Dies.

I finished ups with a few Sequins and twine from the Metallic Baker's Twine and Sequin pack.

New Wonders Happy Birthday

Happy Friday Peeps!!

The Stampin UP New Wonders stamp set is so cute,
I have had my eye on it every since I first saw it in the catalog.
It is a Hostess only set.
I finally added it to my last order and I had to ink it up right away.

I stamped the image onto some thick Whisper White with Black Stazon ink.
I colored with my aqua painter and ink pads.
I went simple with this one.

My base is Highland Heather followed with a layer of Gorgeous Grape card stock.
I used the Brick and Mortar embossing Folder on another layer of Highland Heather.

I then added a piece of Gorgeous Grape DSP from the Brights 6x6 pack
I hand cut the bottom making a flag/banner piece.

The image is die cut uisng the Stitched Rectangles Dies,
I added the sentiment, that comes from the same set,
with Black Memento ink.
The image panel was then added with dimensionals to the card base.

I finished up with a few litle basic rhinestones.

Thanks for coming by.

Listed below are all the "ingredients" used to make this card.  If you would like to buy the products for yourself, I would be very happy for you to shop with me.  You can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.

SUO...Happy Birthday

Hello Peeps!!

It is Tuesday which means another challenge at SUO Challenges.

This week is all about Dies and Die Cuts.

My card is loaded with Die Cuts.
I used the super nice Rectangle Stitched Dies
along with dies that cut out my flowers and stems and the
Stitched Nested Label dies for my sentiment.

I used he Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and stamped my flowers
with Lovely Lipstick ink.
My stems are die cut with Old Olive card stock.

I really liked how this card came out so much I made a couple
more using different colors and sentiments, I will show you those later this week.
It is simple and straightforward and easy enough to
mass produce if needed.

I finished the card with a few basic pearls and a small lovely lipstick bow.

I hope you can join us this week and show off some of you dies with us.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Crazy 4 Challenges.....Blue Birthday

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!

Time for a new challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges.

Our challenge this week is:

Show Me The Blue!
September's birthstone is sapphire so make blue the most prominent color on your card.

I decided to pull out one of my fave sets and make some "blue sapphire flowers".

I stamped the flower image twice on my panel, not getting the whole image on either side,

I stamped with Black Stazon ink onto some heavy weight card stock. I used my aqua painter and Pacific Point ink.
The leaves are colored using Old Olive ink/

The sentiment is from the Cottage Greetings stamp set.
The base of the card is Pacific Point and then a layer of Black and the DSP is from the Pretty Petals pack.
I added two more strips of Black and layered some Silver Foil paper over them.
I used three of our mini silver brads at the bottom under the main panel. I decided I would like to add a few more onto the main image piece but I had already added it to the base with my dimensionals, so I snipped off the shank and then just glued down the top rounded pieces. I love them so I am sure I will be doing that again!

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Happy, Happy Birthday

Happy Tuesday  peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made today.

I was playing around with my distress inks again and made this fun background.

I used Squeezed Lemonade, Salty Ocean and Picked Raspberry.

This time I applied my ink to a piece of acetate and then spritzed with some water and squished it onto my watercolor paper. I started with my middle color, the Salty Ocean and then went to the Squeezed Lemonade and then to the Picked Raspberry.
I really love how these colors combined and ran together. I spritzed a bit more water onto the piece as needed to get the colors to blend and flow. I hit the paper with my heat gun in between each color to set them and keep them from muddying up.

I used the MFT Pure Innocence Happy Banner  girl and colored her dress to match my BG using my copic markers.
She is die cut out with her matching die.
The balloons are from the MFT Somebunny stamp set and colored with copics as well. I cut out the balloons and added them to the base with foam tape. I just hand drew in the tails.
The happy banner girl is added to the base with foam tape as well.
I stamped the rest of the sentiment onto the base with Black Memento Ink.

I am adding this to the Curtain Call Inspiration challenge:

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sweet Sunday......Somebunny Shaker

Happy Sunday Peeps!!!

We have some exciting news to share this week!

We are all thrilled to have anew home and a place dedicated to just our sketch challenge.
We are all pitching in on this so Karen is not so overwhelmed with running the challenge.

There are some new design team members, you will be excited when you see who!

This week with all the the changes going on we decided to go freestyle, you can pick from any of the past sketches for your card this week. You can see them all HERE.

I decided to go back into the files and picked sketch 176

Well at least my version of it anyway!! This is a sketch I designed way back when so I thought it was alright to change it up just a bit!! LOL!!!

I decided to jump on board with the shaker card craze going on and make one

I used the MFT stamp set called Somebunny. This card was a real booger to put together, I had never made a shaker card before so it was an experience,  I need to work on my technique for making these but it turned out cute and that is all that matters right?

I picked up some fun sequins and stars to add to the shaker from work.
The image was stamped with black Memento ink and colored with my copic markers.
I cut my own banner myself since I don't have any dies like this, they are on my list to get tho. LOL!
Under the banner is an acetate circle and two layers of fun foam that run the whole length of the banner. I cut circles in the banner with my circle dies. I glued this stack all together and added the colored image behind it all, first putting the shaker bits inside.
The DSP is some SU, can't remember name of the pack, the color is Strawberry Slush. I love that color!
I stamped the sentiment onto some white and curled it a bit and snipped the end.
I added it just under the circle and finished it with a button and some white bakers twine.
I added two white brads at the top that I cut off the back prongs and glued on using some crystal effects.
OK that is all from me, head over to the new
and see all the design team cards.
Pick a sketch and link it up over there!
I am so excited about the new blog and our new designer team members

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sweet Sunday.....Happy Birthday

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

It is Sweet Sunday Sketch Day

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

I started out with a base of white and then followed with some basic black and then a layer of Pool Party card stock that I embossed with the decorative dots EF.

The DSP I used is from the Sweet sorbet pack and I matted the flag pieces with black card stock.
I die cut a film strip piece with some basic black card stock  using the die from the On Film set.
I stamped the flower from the Simply Sketched set onto some white and onto a scrap to layer. I colored using Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral ink and my aqua painter. I stamped the leaves onto scrap and colored using Pear Pizzazz and cut out and added to the image panel.
The piece behind is Summer Starfruit card stock.

The sentiment is from the Morning Meadow Hostess Stamp set.
I added three silver sequins to finish it.

Now let's see what the rest of the girls did with this fun little sketch:

Happy Birthday Wishes

Happy Sunday Peeps!

Sorry I have been a bit MIA lately, life is hectic and I am still a bit under the weather with this lingering cold and to top thinks off I took a tumble on Friday and I am sore all over!

Anyway, still working on a card order, this is one I put together using a past color challenge from the The Dynamic Duos Blog.
This is really a favorite color combo of mine, love the look of old olive and rich razzleberry together not to mention it makes a pretty flower card, and you know I love those! :)

The flower on here comes from the Stampin Up Fabulous Florets stamp set.
I stamped the greenery with old olive onto whisper white and then stamped the flowers with rich razzleberry onto some scrap whisper white. I then cut them out and popped them up over the greenery. The top flower is just part of the same image as the bottom. I just cut away a bunch of it.

The base of the card is white card stock followed by rich razzleberry card stock.
The DSP on here is from the International Bazaare pack and the Polka Dot Parade pack.
The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs stamp set and I stamped with razzleberry ink and used my circle punches to punch out and mat.
I added some white card stock that I embossed with the square lattice EF and some rich razzleberry satin ribbon (retired).

Well, that is all for today, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Another Vintage Card

Good Morning Peeps.

I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for all the wonderful comments and e-mails I have received in the last few days concerning my blog post on Saturday. The tornado that destroyed much of Joplin and took so many lives shook all of us to the very core. Not just the people here in this area but many  from around the country. I hear many stories every day of the humanity of man, the strangers coming together to help, the monies being donated, the sacrifices made. Yesterday on a local news broadcast they had a very heart warming story of a young boy who set up a lemonade stand to raise money to help. He had made over three hundred dollars so far. He plans to keep his stand going all summer. Even though this storm took so much it has definitely brought out the best in most people. There has been a few stories of the worse too, and one that effected my family personally but I won't dwell on that. For the most part people are basically good. :)

Now onto my card for today. I needed a birthday card and I wanted to try another vintage hydrangea. I love the look of this one in rich razzleberry. I did tone this one down a bit, less shabby than yesterdays one but I still like it. I did less sponging and distressing and feel like this one is more "me"

The razzleberry DSP is from a retired pack and the other DSP on the bottom is from the Newsprint pack.
I added some rich razzleberry satin ribbon, isn't it pretty? It ties like a dream!

Well, that is it from me, thanks so much for stopping by today and
 HAPPY STAMPING, FRIENDS!!!

SSSC117....Happy birthday

Good Morning Peeps!!! It is Sunday so that means it is time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge Sample.

Here is the fabulous sketch that Karen has for us this week:

Such a great sketch!! I haven't made this size card in quite some time. I used a base of Poppy Parade, 6-1/2 inches by 3-1/4 inches. I trhen layered some whipser white and the DSP here is from the Sunny Garden paper pack.

The flowers are from the Stampin' Up Flower Fest stamp set that is available in the new Summer Mini. I stamped with versmark onto poppy parade and so saffron paper and then embossed with white embossing powder. I cut out and layered up the roses. I added several leaves which are embossed with white onto pear pizzazz card stock. The sentiment comes from the retired "Something to Celebrate" stamp set.

I added some pearl swirls that I had in my stash. I really like this card, I don't usually say that but those flowers done with the white embossing just looks so cute I think!
I wanted top make my card a stand up that opened at the top and I didn't have any card stock the size to make that work so I just improvised and cut two pieces of white 6-1/2 x 3-1/4 and joined them together at the top with a small piece of 1/2 strip folded in half and glued to both of the white pieces. Then I mounted my front piece to the base. this size card will fit into the small open ended envelopes from Stampin' Up!

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

OK, let's see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team has in store for us this week:

Well, thank you for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

OCC....Paper Weaving

Good Morning Peeps!! It is Saturday and that means it is time for another new challenge at Our Creative Corner.

This week our challenge hostess is the fabulous Jen Rzasa from Our Change of Art. Jen has challenged us this week to do some paper weaving on our card or project. I weaved a lattice trellis for my flowers on my card. I started with a base of white card stock and then added some marina mist and then the weaved piece. I made this piece by first cutting out the center with a Nestiablities Die, Label 4. I then ran it through the big shot with my dot folder. I then turned it over and added some double stick tape around the opening. I cut several small strips to weave and used my grid paper to line it up, that part is a bit fussy, getting the strips woven AND lined up. I added a piece of Marina Mist DS paper behind the weaved section.

I used a couple of flowers from the new Flower Fest stamp set from Stampin' Up. I stamped with black stazon onto water colored paper and used poppy parade ink to color in. I used pear pizzazz for the leaves and added some yellow brads to the center of the small ones.

The sentiment comes from the Something to Celebrate stamp set and I stamped with black stazon and matted with more Marina Mist. I curled and cut the end to make the flag.
I added some basic pearls to the corners and called it done.

I hope you’ll play along this week and have fun with this challenge! Be sure to check out the rest of the OCC design team creations! To play along, upload your creation to your blog or gallery, then leave a comment linking to your project over at Our Creative Corner so we can check it out. SC330...Happy Birthday

Good Thursday Morning Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card made with this week's sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers. I used the pretty set from Stampin' Up called Happiness Shared. I love this flower blossom, I think it is a wild rose, alot of those are single layer and when fully bloomed look like this and the buds on this look like rose buds to me. I have used this set alot and have always used a light pink and made a soft flower and card. Well I decided to go bold with this one and I pulled out my poppy parade ink pad and aqua painter and went to work on coloring this one. I like the pretty red rose. I used some pear pizzazz ink on the leaves and soft sued on the stem. I then used some crumb cake to shade around the flower and give it an aged feel. I added a few dots with my chocolate chip marker and then splattered it a bit with some watered down soft suede ink.

The base of the card is crumb cake and then I used some poppy parade card stock that I embossed with the square lattice EF. The gingham paper is from the retired Sweet Slumber Specialty paper pack. I mated the main image with poppy parade and crumb cake card stock. I added three antique brads and pear pizzazz seam binding ribbon. The sentiment is from he Something to Celebrate hostess stamp set and I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up!

Well, that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC112.....Happy Birthday

GOOD MORNING PEEPS!!! It's Sunday which means it is time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Sample This is the fabulous sketch Karen has for us this week;

Loved this sketch! I started my card with a base of pear pizzazz card stock and I followed that up with some daffodil delight. The next layer is some designer paper from the Springtime Vintage pack. I used the Stampin' Up Nature Walk stamp set, I really love the flower in that set. I inked with pear pizzAzz and used my daffodil delight marker to color in the flower heads. I stamped directly onto a piece of DSP from the Botanical Gazette paper pack. I stamped the flower several times, leaving a space in the middle for my sentiment, which is from the Something to Celebrate Hostess set. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig and black stazon ink for the Happy Birthday. I love the font on this, it looks old fashion. The flowers come from the retired Pretties Kit and I used a dauber and daffodil ink to color them. I added some basic pearls in the centers of the flowers and corner of the card and a string under the sentiment. I finished it with three pieces of daffodil ribbon.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

OCC.....Happy Birthday

This week our challenge hostess is Rebecca Ednie from Eclectic Endeavours and her challenge for us is:

Reuse your Packaging! Use those boxes, cans, bags, plastic clamshells or embellishment bubbles you might usually throw out to create a fabulous project!

This was another toughie for me, and my card is really not my style at all, but after I got into making it I kinda like the outcome. I decide early on that I would use some torn apart cardboard from a box. I cut a piece of cardboard the size I needed and then just peeled off one side to expose the corrugated part. I inked it up a bit with some distressing ink, by just rubbing the cardboard over the ink pad. I got out some retired DSP, I think this is called Au Chocolate. I used a bit across the bottom part of the card.

I made a lace flower by gathering some lace and forming a circle and stitching together. I added an antique brad to the center. I used some swirls cut from chocolate card stock and little leaves cut from the DSP to tuck in around the lace flower.

The sentiment is from the Something to Celebrate stamp set. I stamped with chocolate chip ink onto very vanilla card stock and cut the sentiment into two pieces.

I hope you’ll play along this week and have fun with this challenge! Be sure to check out the rest of the OCC design team creations! To play along, upload your creation to your blog or gallery, then leave a comment linking to your project over at Our Creative Corner so we can check it out. Mojo.......Birthday Wishes

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made with the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge.

I chose to make a square card, this one is 5 inch square of crumb cake card stock. I followed that with rose red card stock and the DSP is from the Springtime Vintage paper pack.

The stamp set I used is one of the free SAB sets called Sweet Summer. Love this set, it may be my favorite of the SAB stamps. The sentiment is from the Occasional Quotes Hostess set. The rose red scallop is the new 2-3/8 inch punch. I ran that scallop circle through the square lattice EF. I added some rose red seam binding and some crochet trim layered together and tied into a pretty bow.

The flower heads on the main panel is cut out and added to the panel with dimensionals. I used rose red and old olive to color in the flowers with my aqua painter.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING

OCC....Happy Birthday!

Hello Peeps and Happy Monday!!!

Today I am sharing a card i made with the challenge this week on the Our Creative Corner Blog. It's a "Three Musketeers" color challenge which actually means an analogous color scheme challenge. So we are to choose any 3 colors that are next to each other on the color wheel. I choose, Red, Orange and Yellow, which translates in my colors as, Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie and More Mustard. I have to admit, this is NOT my favorite card I have ever made, the colors are a bit much for my taste.

I used the SAB set Sweet Summer and water colored the flowers with the colors I choose. I also used some always artichoke for the leaves! The base of the card is Poppy Parade and I followed that with some pumpkin pie card stock and the DS paper from the Sweet and Sour Speciality Pack. I used a bit of more mustard that I had embossed with the square lattice EF, I cut the image out with my circle nesties and matted with a scallop circle nestie in poppy parade. I used some poppy parade ribbon and wrapped it around and tied a pretty bow. I was going to have the sentiment hang from the bow but couldn't get one I liked to work. So I just ended up stamping and using the word window punch and added it across the middle flower at the bottom. I finished it off with a few silver pearls and called it done!!

I have a mojo card to show you tomorrow that I like much better and this weekend will be a busy time on the blog, Saturday I will have my first item up as one of the new Design Team members on the Our Creative Corner Blog and the Paper Crafters Sample Design Team will be having a blog hop and of course the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, so be sure and keep an eye out for all the FUN!!!

Well, that is all from me today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

TESC129....Happy Birthday to You

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!

Here is the other card I told you about yesterday, made with Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #129. I have to admit I like yesterday's card the best, but this one is cute too with the big pumpkin pie bow from the satin ribbon. I stamped the cupcakes with black stazon and used my aqua painter and ink pads to color them in lightly. I cut the circle and blossom matt with my nesties. I used the Sweet and Sour Speciality paper and the matching colors are rose red, pumpkin pie and very vanilla. I added some sticky rhinestones too.

Well, that is it from me today, tomorrow I am back to a fun little Halloween card so be sure to swing back by. Thanks for coming by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

TSSC141.....Happy Birthday to You

Good Tuesday morning Peeps!!!

My card today is made with Mary Jo's Lunchtime Sketch Challenge. I am taking a bit of a break from the Halloween and Christmas that I have been making lately. I wanted to play a bit with this new DS paper, Sweet and Sour Speciality Pack. Love the colors, Rose red, pumpkin pie and very vanilla! I am using the "Crazy for Cupcakes" stamp set. I stamped the image onto the very vanilla card stock and colored it a bit with my aqua painter and some rose red for the cherries and pumpkin pie for the cup cakes. I thing orange cupcakes would be YUMMY, don't you? I used some Star Dust Stickles for the icing! I added some pumpkin pie satin ribbon and a few rhinestones. I have another card made with this same set and papers I will show you tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

SSSC85....Happy Birthday

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING PEEPS!!! It's my favorite time of the week, time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Sample

This week we have another fabulous sketch drawn by Nancy McKinney and all the Sweet Sunday Samples will be Birthday themed cards for Operation Write Home. You can find more info on this on Karen's Blog.

Here is this week's sketch:

Nice sketch huh? I sure struggled with this one, and I have scraped at least three other cards before getting this one finished. I did, in the end, change the sketch just a bit, using squares instead of circles and a strip of ribbon instead of the rectangle behind the squares, but I think you can still see the "bones" of the sketch in my card.

My card base is made with chocolate chip card stock and the DS paper comes from the Island Oasis paper pack. I used my scallop edge punch along the bottom of the tempting turquoise paper. The sentiment comes from the On your Birthday stamp set and the cupcakes are from the Short & Sweet stamp set. I added some silver sticky pearls and popped up the cupcakes with some dimensionals.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.
