Happy Birthday

Happy Wednesday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made trying to use three different challenges.

First up is the SIP Challenge
which is a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge:

Also my interpretation of the Freshly Made Sketches sketch this week:
and finally this week at Just Us Girls Challenge:

I generally don't combine that many at once but it all seemed to come together for my card.

My flower comes from he retired set called You've Got This.
I stamped it with versmark ink onto some Confetti Cream card sock and heat set it with white embossing powder.
I colored using my Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Wild Wasabi inks.
I fussy cut it out and then put it aside to do the rest of the card.

I die cut a heart with Soft Sky card stock to use, this would represent the  rounded square in the sketch shown above, hence my statement of "my interpretation" of the sketch.
I think it works tho, you can still see the "bones" of the sketch.

The base of the card is Confetti card stock and then a layer of Calypso Coral and then more confetti, I embossed that piece using the basket weave EF.

The Heart is then mounted using dimensionals as is the flower.
I added a small piece of black and white DSP across the middle and the sentiment is from he Lift Me Up stamp set. I fussy cut it out and added it to the card with more dimensionals.

I finished the card with a few rhinestones and a twine bow.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Because I Care

Happy Monday peeps!!!

Recently I have become slightly obsesses with water coloring.
I decided to invest in some nice watercolors and some distress inks.

This card is my first attempt at water coloring with distress inks,
I really love how easy they are to use for this purpose and how well they blend together.

I looked at the challenge this week on Paper Players Blog and saw it was a color challenge:

I thought these colors would be pretty for my water coloring attempt and set forth to match them the best I could with the distress inks I had already gotten.

I started with some watercolor paper and stamped the image from Stampin Up's World of Dreams with some Versamark ink onto the paper.
I then embossed the image with white embossing powder.
I stamped and embossed the sentiment in thesame way, it comes from the Stampin Up retired Because I Care stamp set.

I then taped my water color paper down to a hard board and wet it thoroughly.
I then began to add my color. I started with Wild Honey and then Spiced Marmalade and then Mowed Lawn.

I dried with my heat tool and then added drops of water and let it set for a few and then dabbed off with a paper towel. This creates the splotches. Love that look!
The base of the card is Crumb Cake and then water color piece is layered onto some white.
I finished the card up with a few gold sequins.

I am also linking this in the Virginia's View Challenge #13

Thanks for stopping by today!!
