Rock & Roll Birthday

 Hello Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card Imade with a couple of challenges in mind:

The challenge at Tic Tac Toe Challenge 

and the challenge at Inkspirational

I remembered I had this Rock Star Set and dies in my retired sets.

I knew it would be great for the Black and white and for the guys challenges.

I am not good with masculine type cards; I generally go for floral and girly but wanted to give it a try.

 My card:

I used the Vellum, die cut and black & white row.

I started with a base of Basic Black, and the DSP comes from the Rock & Roll DSP pack.

I then stamped the guitar on some basic white and colored it with my Basic Black Blends. I added some highlight with a white gel pen.

I used the Spotlight on Nature Dies to die cut my Vellum and DSP circle.

The sentiment was stamped on some basic black with Versamark and embossed with some White embossing powder. I die cut out the sentiment "pick and the guitar with th e dies from this set.

I also found in my stash the embellishments that went with this set and added a few stars and lightning bolts.

I wasn't prepared for how emotional I would be making this card.

The last time I used it was when Imade a birthday card for my late husband. He has been gone a little over 2 years and I am still a mes most days. 😢

When two becomes one it can be so isolating and scary.

Anyway, I found the card I made for him back then:

He played the guitar and had a large collection of them, some still hang on the wall in our bedroom;

There are several more, this is just part of one wall. They guitar on my Black & White card is inspired by this one.

Tulips for a Birthday

 Hello guys!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge at As You See It

This challenge has an extra add on, in a time challenge.

Gather your supplies and set a timer for 10 minutes, in my case I did a stop watch, and see if you can make your card in less than 10 minutes.

Here is my card[

I saw a card similar to this one online somewhere and wnted to make one.

I had got the Sunshine and Tulips Bundle when it was on our preorder and had not used it. That large tulip die had me wondering about how I would use it.

Then seeing so many cards made with the die cut into strips, I thought genius!! 

A perfect way to use that large die.

I gathered up mu supplies, Basic White cardstock, some poppy parade cardstock, granny apple green scrap, a piece of Poppy Parade DSP, my Eyelet EF. and the sentiment I wanted to use.

I was ready and I had my Alexa start a stopwatch and away I went.

I may have had a better time if i hadn't dropped and couldn't fins a couple of my tulip die cuts. I had to re-cut them.

I made it!

While I had all the supplies out I decided to make another one like this in a different color.

This one I used Fresh Freesia.

Sending a little pickup

Hello Guys!

Today's card share is one I made using the challenge this week at Addicted to CAS 

Code Word travel: 

My card:

This one was an easy for me to pull together, as I already had the cute little truck assembled. I have had it for a long time just hanging by a clip on my bulletin board.

I see it almost daily and when this challenge popped up I knew this would be perfect for it.

The truck is a die of the month from Spellbinders.

I was in their die and stamp of the month for a while a few years back. This was one of my favorite dies from that club.

The sentiment is from the stamp of the month for the same month.

The truck is made using Coastal Cabana cardstock , along with some crumb cake, basic black and some silver foil.

Isn't that the cutest little pickup truck?

Very Clean and Simple wouldn't you say?

Happy Birthday Lion

Hello again guys!

Popping in here quickly to share a card I made for the challenge at Seize the Birthday

My card:

I made a fun fold card using the new Caring Animals stamp set.

Such a cute set!

The fun fold is called a book fold.

The base of the card is a new Incolor, Golden Glow.

Followed with some DSP from the Moonlight Floral pack and the polka dots paper is from the Incolor DSP pack. Next wa a piece of Mossy Meadow I cut with a die from the Nested Essentials. 

 It is a good idea to use your stamp positioner when stamping this one so you can stamp it a second time if you don't get full color on the Happy Birthday sentiment.

I really liked coloring up this guy.

I used Golden Glow, Crumb Cake and Ivory and also some Granny Apple Green for his party hat.

I stamped his face a few times on some scrap paper and colored then cut out so I could layer it up.

Such a fun technique and makes a great impact.

The ribbon is also some new incolor, Golden Glow.

I added a few flowers with small gold centers to finish it up.

Old Friends

Hello Peeps!

Today's card share is made using the sketch this week at Sunday Stamps

I used th cute little set Sweet Old Friends Bundle, I really like this set.

My card:

I used a base of Hydrangea Hue, followed with a piece of DSP from the Silly Old Bear pack.

I die cut another piece of Hydrangea using a die from the Textured Notes Dies/

I shortened it by running it through my die cut machine halfway and then repositioned it to make it a bit shorter and run back through the other direction halfway.

I took my inspiration for the image panel from the SU sample shown with this bundle in the online store.

I made myself a stencil using a die in the die set and used to make the honeycomb look ny brushing with some golden glow ink.

 I colored my Pooh image and Piglet image with my Blends.

The honey pots were die cut using pecan pie and golden glow cardstock.

The sentiment comes from the Sweet Words and Labels stamp set.

I finished up with a few golden glow adhesive dots.

In Flanders Field the Poppies Blow

 Hello and welcome to the Memorial Day weekend. 

Memorial Day weekend is the official or unofficial start of Summer. But it so much more than that, a time to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

That is what inspired my card today.

 Every year around this time the VFW/American Legion here sit up outside of local stores to raise money and give out poppies. 

I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches 

I went looking through my stamps to find something I wanted to use. this image in the Christmas Greenery reminded me of poppies. Not exactly poppies but I thought close enough, you would get the intent.

My card:

I stamped the image on basic white cardstock and colored with my Blends, I used Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green and Azure Afternoon.

I die cut them out with the matching die.

I die cut a rectangle from the Textured Notes Die and sponged some Azure Afternoon in the middle.

I atached the flowers to the die cut with dimensionals.

The base of my card is Thick Basic White. I used another piece of Basic white and embossed with the Stripes EF.

I added the main rectangle to the base with dimensionals. 

The sentiment is from the Simply Said stamp set and I die cut it out using a die in the Stylish Shapes Dies.

I finished up with some retired adhesive back stars.

Sending Lots of Love

 Hey Guys!!

Today I am shareing a card I made using the sketch at Stampin Up Only Challenges

My card:

I used the new set called Safari Smiles.

I stamped the image with Black Memento Ink onto Basic White cardstock.

I colored with my blends using Golden Glow, Pecan Pie and Ivory. 

I diecut it out with the matching dies. I mounted the image to a Basic White Stitched Circle that was die cut with the Stylish Shapes dies with dimensional.

I die cut the small piece of "ground" with Pecan pie cardstock.

I used a piece of Basic White that I embossed with the Painted Texture EF that I added two pieces of my DSP from the Moonlight Flora DSP.

I wrapped some jute twine around this layer between the pieces of DSP and tied a bow,

The main image piece was mounted to another circle cut from the one of the dies in the Spotlight on Nature dies.

I then added my main image piece.

This was then added to a base of Golden Glow cardstock.

The sentoment is from the Thoughtful Octopus stamp set and I die cut it with a die from the Stylish Shapes.

I finished with a few Adhesive dots in Golden Glow.

You Are the Sweetest

 Hey guys!!

Popping in again today to post a card I made using the sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Such an interesting sketch don't you think?

I have had the Homemade Sweetness Suite since it first came out and had never used so I pulled out for my card.

All the DSP comes from the Homemade Sweetness DSP.

The base of my card is Misty Moonlight.

I die cut a large circle using the Spotlight on Nature Dies using Basic White.

I then stamped several strawberries from the stamp set and colored them with my Blends usinf Strawberry Slush and old Olive.

I added them to the card at the top of the cut off some directly to the card and a few on dimensionals.

I then die cut a few leaves using Granny apple green. The leaves die cuts are made with some dies in the Fragrant Layers Dies.

I die cut the blooms with Basic White with the die in the Sweetness Bundle and added them on some of the berries.

The sentiment die cut is from the same dies and so is the sentiment.

I finished uo with a few yellow adhesive dots in the center of the flowers and then a few Adhesive backed strawberries from the same suite.

Strawberries are some of my favorite fruits.

Caroling Mice

Today I am sharing another card made with retired products for the challenge at 

52 Christmas Card Throwdown

 

and also the challenge at Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge.

This fun card was made using the Caroling Mice Bundle

The base of the card is Poppy Parade  and the DSP is more scraps from my DSP scrap drawer.

I colored the singing mouse and lamp post using my Blends.

They are mounted with dimensionals onto a die cut circle from the stitched Shapes Dies.

Happy Birthday Cake

 Hello Peeps!

Popping in her for a quick post to share a card I made for the 

challenge at AAA Cards Challenge.

I dug out another retired set called Best Day, I remembered it had a cute cake image.

I stamped the image onto Basic White and colored with my Blends, I used Bubble Bath, Balmy Blue,

Medium 400 and Daffodil Delight.

I die cut it out with a die from the Textured Notes Dies.

I mounted this onto a piece of Bubble Bath that I embossed with the Gingham EF using dimensionals.

The base is also Bubble Bath cardstock.

I did add a few little pink gems to finish.

Sweet

Hello Peps!

I have a fun card to share today, again using retired products.

The challenge at The Paper Players this week was to make a CAS card featuring food.

My card uses the Sweetest Cherries Bundle:

I started with abase of Thick Basic White and then a layer of Real Red and then another Basic White layer that I embossed with the Gingham EF.

I don't know the name of the DSP, it is one I had in my scrap DSP drawer, if you know what pack it is from let me know.

I stamped 2 cherry images with Real Red and leaves and stems are stamped with Old olive. I then used the coordinating punch to punch the images out. I added these to the card with dimensionals.

I stamped the Sweet sentiment with Real Red on some scrap card stock and then fussy cut it out and added it with dimensionals as well. 

The birthday wishes is from the same set and is stamped with black and added under the sweet. 

Here is another one I made with the same bundle, might as well use it while it was out:

You're in my thoughts today

Hello guys

Today's card share us a card I made for the challenge at Just Us Girls 

My card:

I love a flower card, this one uses another retired set. Thoughtful Expressions. stamp set and the matching dies are great.

The base of my card is Poppy Parade and I followed that with a piece of Basic white that I embossed with the ornate floral EF.

I stamped the flower image twice with Black Stazon onto watercolor paper and colored with my ink pads and water brush.

Hope you enjoy my journey back into a lot of my retired sets. It is fun to pull them out and feel like they are new.

Let Your Heart be Light

Hello Guys!!

Today I am sharing a card made using the Christmas Challenge at 

Addicted to Stamps & More

 Keeping with my theme lately in using retired stamps and DSP, here is what I made:

A fun Fold card using the Whimsy and Wonder DSP and Whimsical Trees Bundle.

I think this DSP is one of my favorites, I generally like more traditional colors, but this one is so pretty

I think this fun fold is called a Tri-Fold Shutter Card. 

You can google samples and instructions on making it. 

The base of the card is Blushing Bride. 

Also, I used Mint Macaroon  noth of these are retired colors that is why it is a good idea to hang on to those retired colors. 

The sentiment comes from the Christmas to Remember stamp set.
