Thank You

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

The challenge this week at The Card Concept, inspired my card I am showing you today.

 Pink Party!

Are you sick of seeing me use this  flower stamp yet?
It is an oldie but definitely, in my eyes, a goodie!

I love the flower, the size of the stamp, the fact that the one flower can be the whole focal image on a card. I love to color this flower as well. I used my favorite method of coloring, watercoloring.

I stamped the flower onto some thick whisper white card stock with black stazon and colored with my water brush. I have had several people ask me about my method of coloring on cardstock so here is a short description of what I do. Yes, coloring on card stock takes some practice, but it is my favorite method. The secret, if there is one, is a light touch and less water. I always start by coloring in the entire flower image lightly with my ink thinned with water substantially. I then go back in adding more color to achieve the shading I want . You do have to be a bit careful to not have to much water flowing from your brush. Practice, practice and more practice.

I fussy cut out my image and added it to the card with dimensionals. The white die cut piece is also added with dimesionals.

There is jus a bi of gold in the inspiration photo, so I added a bit of gold ribbon.

The sentiment is from the Peal Palette set.

Harvest Blessings

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

Popping in with another card, I made this one using the challenge this week at Stamps, Ink Paper Challenge Gratitude and the challenge at The Card Concept Rustic Fall.

I used another really nice Sampin Up set that is great for anyone who loves to color,
Country Home.

I stamped two images onto thick whisper white and colored with my ink pads and water brush.

I fussy cut them out and added to my die cut circle with dimensionals.

The base of he card is Crumb Cake card stock. Next is a piece of DSP from the Woodgrain pack.
The yellow DSP is from a retired pack, and I matted it with a bit of gold foil paper.

I wrapped some jute twine around the middle and tied a pretty bow.
I added the image piece to the base with dimesionals and trimmed part of the circle off.

I stamped the sentiment with black memento ink and tucked it under he edge of the can.

I added a few rhinestones for a bit of sparkle.

Happiest of Birthdays

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made with a couple of challenges in mind.

I used the challenge this week at The Card Concept, which is Spring Flowers:

and I am linking to the Seize the Birthday challenge which is Anything Goes this week:

I was inspired by a card I saw on Connie Collins blog to pull out this fave stamp of mine, Stampin Up Best Thoughts, which is a hostess set.
I stamped with black stazon onto white card stock. I masked and stamped two more images.
I then colored with my Aqua Painter and ink Pads. I used Wisteria Wonder, Old Olive and a bit of Soft Sky to color the images and to shade around the edges a bit.

I matted the image with some Wisteria Wonder card stock and the mounted to the base with foam tape.

I added a couple of sequins and a few silver pearls.

The sentiment is from the Birthday Blooms stamp set.

I am gonna leave you with another cute baby pic:

This little girl has stolen my heart!!

Thanks for coming by today!

Wedding Wishes for the Card Concept

Hello Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made for the challenge this week at The Card Concept Blog.

Here is the inspiration piece:

I love the little hats in this photo, toooo cute huh?

I decided to make a wedding themed card using the Stampin Up Rose Wonder stamp set and framelits.

I am crazy about this rose framelit, it is awesome!
I cut two using some Very Vanilla card stock and layered and glued them together.
I then glued the stack to a piece of Basic Black cardstock that is matted with Very Vanilla and then some more Basic Black.

The base of the card is Very Vanilla and then Basic Black. The DSP is from the Timeless Elegance paper pack.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set as is the sentiment panel and another framelit cuts it out. I added just a bit of basic black stitched ribbon behind the sentiment.

Hope you like it!

Vicki!

Card Concept.....Merry & Bright

Happy Wednesday Peeps!

Sorry for the long silence here on the blog, but I 'm back with a pretty little Christmas card for the new  challenge at The Card Concept Blog.
Here is our inspiration photo for this week:

Don't you love that photo, I took my inspiration from the colors, the poinsettias and the overall country feel of the photo.

I started out making my Poinsettia. I used Cherry Cobbler, and Mossy Meadow. I stamped the veins in the leaves in the same color as the paper and sponged the edges.
I used some gold foil paper for the center.

The base of the card is Crumb Cake card stock and then a layer of the gold foil. I then used a layer of Corrugated Paper. love that stuff! I made my banner using some of the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.
I added the flower to the card with some dimensionals. I used some of the burlap ribbon that I cut apart and pulled out the strings to tuck around the flower. I then added a few little gold sticky back pearls.
The sentiment is from the Endless Wishes stamp set.
The card is a 5 inch square and would probably be better to add to a gift and not to mail. :)

Be sure and head over to the Card Concept Blog to see what the rest of the team did with this inspiration challenge.

Card Concept......Hello Falll

Happy Wednesday Peeps!

Time for a new challenge at The Card Concept.

It is a new month and that means we have a new Guest Designer, this month it is the fabulous Julee Tilman from Poetic Artistry.

Here is our inspiration piece for this week:

I took my inspiration from the colors and all the circle elements in the photo.
I decide to make a fall wreath.
I used the Wonderous Wreath Stamp Set.
The colors I used are Crumb Cake, Brushed Silver, Hello Honey and Whisper White.

I stamped the Wreath image with Versamark ink onto the Brushed Silver card stock and then embossed with white embossing powder.

I stamaped the flowers with Hello Honey ink and fussy cut them out.
The sentiment is from the stamp set For All Things.
I added a ribbon bow, I realized after adding it and
taking the picture that I used the wrong ribbon,
(I used Summer Starfruit, which is retired instead of the Hello Honey)
It coordinates tho, so I think it is OK.

Be sure and head over to the Card Concept Blog to see what the rest of the girls did with this challenge!

Thanks for stopping by today!

The Card Concept....Sympathy

Happy Wednesday Peeps!

Time for a new challenge at The Card Concept.

Here is our wonderful inspiration photo for this challenge:

I took my inspiration from the beautiful palette and of course the flowers.

I found myself in need of a Sympathy card this past week so I decided to use
this challenge for my card.
I pulled out my most loved stamp from Stampin Up called Best Thoughts.
I used a couple of retired colors on my card, I used some Regal rose and just a bit of Bravo Burgundy. I did not have my Burgundy ink pad any longer but still had the marker so I scribbled a bit onto a clear block to use.
I stamped the flower image onto some Naturals cardstock with Black Stazon and colored using my aqua painter and inks.
The leaves are Old Olive and I used my white gel pen to color the stamens.

The base of the card is Early espresso and then I dug into my stash of retired DSP to find some
Bravo Burgundy paper.
I matted this with some of the Naturals cardstock.
The main panel is matted with Early Espresso card stock.
The sentiment is from the retired Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set.
I used some mini silver brads here and there.
I cut off the prongs on the brads and then used a bit of glue to add the tops.
Be sure and head over to  The Card Concept Blog to see what the rest of the team did with this challenge, you are sure to be inspired to play along with us!

The Card Concept.....hello

Happy Wednesday Peeps!
Tine for a new challenge at The Card Concept.

Here is our inspiration piece for this challenge:

I loved this inspiration piece. I am a big fan of the white pumpkins/gourds and I knew right away that I wanted to make one.

I have in the past made pumpkins using oval and circle punches but
I decided to try my hand at a large one using my oval framelits.

I used embossing folders on each oval, creating this fun textured pumpkin.

I keep it fairly simple from there, using a sheet of wood DSP from the Market Fresh paper pack.
The base of the card is Early Espresso.
I added a few green leaves and a jute bow along with a few sequins.
The sentiment is cut from the Greetings thinlits.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Card Concept.......Thanks

Happy Wednesday Peeps!

Time for a new challenge at The Card Concept.

This week we have a fun inspiration photo for you!

I took the inspiration very literally and pulled out my Thankful Forest Friends stamp set.
I love the little animals in this set.
I stamped the bear with Early Espresso, the fox with Cajun Craze and the little bunny with Smoky Slate. I fussy cut them out and set aside.

The leaves and sentiment are colored with my markers and then stamped onto some Whisper White card stock. I kinda like the faded look you get with this process.

I added the animals across the center using dimensionals.
I rounded the corners on the bottom portion of the white card stock using the Envelope Punch Board.

I used some glimmer paper to make the banner under the main panel.
Next is some Cajun Craze card stock with rounded bottom corners as well.

The base of the card is Crumb Cake card stock and the DSP is from the Woodland pack.

Be sure and head over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the team did with this fun challenge.

The Card Concept....We are BACK

Happy Wednesday Peeps!!

The Card Concept Challenge is back from our Summer break.

We have a great challenge to kick us off: Daisies

Here is the inspiration photo:

I loved the colors and flowers in this piece so that was where I drew my inspiration .

I started with a base of white and then a layer of Pool Party card stock. I then embossed another piece of white with the Brick Wall EF.

I used my Oval Thinlits with Pool Party and White card stock
The sentiment is from the Tin of Cards stamp set.

I made my pretty yellow flower using the Crazy About You stamp set.
I stamped it three times using Daffodil Delight onto whisper white card stock and fussy cut it out.
I layered it up and added a pretty pearl in the center.
The leaves come from the Summer Silhouettes stamp set. I stamped them with Wild Wasabi ink and cut out and added them around the flower.
I tucked in a bit of silver thread and a few Perfect Accents finish it up.

Thanks for stopping by today be sure to hop over to the Card Concept Challenge Blog to be inspired by the rest of the team.
