A Sneak Peek

Good Saturday morning peeps!!

This is a sneak peek of an item I have been working on all month. It is on it's way to my little acorn on splitcoast. I am in a group of challenge chaser on splitcoast and we are do an AAA swap, and one of the things we were to do was an altered item. I purchased a plain paper mache house at Hobby Lobby. I covered it with some "yummy" DS paper from basic grey, I used yellow vellum to cover the window and door openings, decorated with a wreath and some plastic string lights. I also used the MS drippy goo punch to look like melting snow or icicles. I think you could decorate it alot more with items to look like a gingerbread house or with some trees and snowmen, but everything else I tried just distracted for the house and I like the simple look of it.

I really love how this came out and have made another for myself. I used a flame less candle to put inside and it is very cool with the lights off, It flickers and glows like a real candle with out the flame. I really hope my "little acorn" likes it! I can hardly wait for her to get it! I can't say who she is yet, but even by the slim chance she looks at my blog, she won't know it is coming to her until she gets the package.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and have a super weekend!!

Pumpkin Snowman

Hello peeps and Happy Halloween!!! Hope you all have a "Spook-tacular" Day!!!

Today's card was made for the limited supply challenge on Splitcoast. We were to use our stamps in "disguise". In other words not as they were originally intended. I used the pumpkins from the SU set Autumn Harvest. I masked the centers and top of with sticky post it notes and stamped the big pumpkin first and then the smaller one on top if the big one to form the snowman head. I used watercolor paper and shaded the pumpkin snowman in with my aqua painter and some close to cocoa ink. I had made the scarf and hat and stick arms. I used the trees from Su's Loads of Love and tore the paper to look like snow drifts. I originally started making a larger card, but when I went to use my ticket corner punch on the image panel, I had mistakenly picked up the tag corner punch and so once the corner was punched, I switched up the whole card to look like a big tag. I used a jumbo brad at the top and some real red striped ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Stamping!!!

Warm Wishes

Good Thursday morning peeps!! Hope you are having a good day so far, it is beautiful here today, sun shining and warm. Just an awesome fall day! Love it!!!

My card today is a case of this beauty by WAXYO, I hesitate to say CASE because mine does not come close to her beauty, she has amazing talent, if you haven't already you should check out her gallery it is chocked full of beautiful cards, I wish to be her when I grow up!!! LOL!!!

On to my card, I started with a base card of chocolate chip and layered that with a piece of riding hood red, that I had stamped with snowflakes from the SU set Snowfall in the same color ink as card stock. I then paper pierced the edges with my piercing tool and mat pack, then made faux stitch lines with my chocolate chip marker. The trees on the center piece are from the SU set Christmas Classics and are stamped on chocolate chip, always artichoke and kiwi kiss and cut out and layered up with dimensional. I also sponged the edges with matching ink on the artichoke and with chocolate chip on the kiwi pieces. The "snow drifts" are just white card stock torn and layered. I used the stamp-a ma-jig to place my sentiment which is from the SU set Hugs & Wishes. Tied a ribbon around the top with ribbon from the Winter mini called Alpine, I believe. I really love the look of this card and might consider it for my holiday cards this year but it is a little labor intensive with all the cutting of the trees and my 51 year old eyes are not what they use to be, that's for sure!!!

Another picture of it just because!!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!!

Blingy Classic Ornaments

Happy Hump day peeps!!! Hope you all are having a great week so far.

Today's card is made with the new SU Christmas Classics set, I really love the look of those ornaments! I used todays sketch challenge on Splitcoast fr my layout.

I used baja breeze for my base and then a piece of Ski Slope DS paper, layered with a piece of old olive cardstock punched with my Martha Stewart edge punch and topped with a piece of Alpine ribbon. The card is really prettier IRL than the picture shows. Each ornament has 9 little sticky rhinestones on it, for a total of 27 rhinestones and then three bigger ones on the lower left corner, that's some serious bling!!! LOL!!! Simple card and so easy to color those ornaments, they look so cute with minimal effort!! Added the silver bows and another Christmas card done!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and Happy Stamping!

A tough color challenge

Good morning Peeps!! One of my cards today was made for the color challenge on splitcoast and it was a toughie for me!!! Kiwi Kiss, tangerine tango and pixie pink......really pixie pink???? LOL!! I wanted to use my pocket silhouettes set from SU, it had never seen ink and was getting lonely!! This card is sooooo not a favorite of mine but I have definetly made worse, so I decided to post it anyway!! I used alot of punches on this card, a Martha Stewart edge punch and SU's new scallop square punch and the 1 1/4 inch and 1 3/8 inch square punch and the double slot punch, which by the way, I decided to add that bow after sticking down my card, so I had to peel it up and try and slide the punch in and line it up. I had to finish cutting out the slots with my craft knife because of the two layers of cardstock.

The next card is one I made for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge Another card I had trouble with, I did finally end up liking it until this morning. I put stickles on the ghost cupcake last night and when I was taking the picture of it today, I noticed that the black marker I used on the paper pieced cupcake liner had bleed into the stickles some. Darn it, just not a very good stamp day!!!

Well, thats about all for today peeps, thanks so much for stopping by and leave me a comment, so I know you have been here!!!

Frankenstein and the Snowmen

Good morning Peeps!!! Cold and Crisp this morning here, definitely enjoying this weather, I love fall and winter, so I say bring it on!!!!

Don't you love the title of this post? Sounds like a Rock band name or maybe some crime fighting hero's or something LOL!!! Really it is just a card and a treat box!! So let's get it to it!!

First is the Frankenstein box, a CASE of so many cute ones floating around right now, made with the SU top note die and lots of punches. I pretty much used this one for my directions. Isn't he adorable? Altho he does look sad! I used old olive card stock and lovely lilac for the hair.

I made 16 of this over the weekend. They are just tooooo much fun!! Here is a side view which I will fill with a bag of goodies:

And now the oh so cute Holiday line up card:

Aren't those snow men just the cutest thing ever? I love them and I still love that Martha Stewart snowflake punch. Here is a close up of the snowmen where I used liquid applique for the balls on their hats and brim of one of the caps.

Merry & Bright

Good Saturday Morning peeps!!! It is very cool here today, had to turn on the heat in the house last night. Love this time of the year.

My card today is one I made for Beates Weekend Sketch Challenge

I just love this layout! My DD and I always try and have a girls night on Friday nights and last night we stopped by Michael's where I got two new Martha Stewart punches, and I used them both on my card today!! Speaking of Michael's I have to tell you a short little story about the sweet little girl who checked us out, she was so nice and very talkative, but she could not count change at all, I tried to give her the change for my purchase...ie total was $16.46 and I handed her a twenty and then started to dig into my wallet for the fourty six cents and when I handed it to her she didn't know what to do because she had already punched in the twent and the register was telling her the change for that.....insert eye rolls here....she was so sweet I didn't say anything but o.k. and then she tells me she is out pennies and I just tell her not to worry about I am sure she wouldn't have known what to do if I offered to give her a penny!!! So sad that so many young people do not know how to make change on their own.

Anyway, back to the card, I know it looks old school, since it has last years SU's winter green DS paper, but I stil love it, I didn't use that paper much at all last year, because when I pulled it out for this card my pack was still almost complete, just one little peice gone, don't know why I didn't use it much, I really love the colors. I also really like this little snow man from SU's Merry & Bright set, it is a set from last years mini that made it into the current cattie. Yeah!!!! I really love the Martha Stewart Arctic Snowflake Punch, I know I will be using it alot!!

Well thanks so much for stopping by and have a super weekend!!!

BTW....check out this blog I discovered yesterday, I am sure many of you have already been there, but it was new to me and man, can that women ever make cards and the things she can do with corner punches are amazing!!!! Amazing Paper Grace

Pink Fall Wreath and a fun Card set with a Box

Good Friday Morning peeps!!! So glad it is finally Friday, It has been a hard week here, On Tuesday we found out that my cousin's husband passed away, he was only 42. My heart just aches for her and her family, it is so hard to lose a loved one and especially hard when they are still so young. Sending lots of thoughts and prayers their way.

My first card today is for the limited supply challenge on splitcoast, we are to use pink in our creations this month for breast cancer awareness month and our card needed to have a leaf as the focal point. I have been wanting to try a leaf wreath for some time with the leaf from the SU Autumn Harvest set. This leaf is very sketchy so it doesn't circle well, but that wouldn't stop me!!! I like how it turned out but I would have never put the pink in there if it hadn't been part of the challenge, but I think it works. I thought I would show the inside of my card.

Now on to a fun little project I did last night. A few weeks back I made
this card and thought they would be great as set with a box. I found this project by Andres Walford on her blog and used the template she created to make my box. I had to modify it some because I didn't have 12x12 paper in the color I needed, so I just used 2 sheets of 8 !/2 x 11 and cut them to 7 1/2 x 10 1/2 and then scored at 3 inches and 7 1/2 inches on the 10 1/2 inch side and scored at 4 1/2 on the 7 1/2 inch side. Super easy to put together! Included in that post was a link to Cindy Lawrence's tutorial on making envelopes to fit 4 x 4 inch square cards. And so it all just came together. A really fun project.

Here is the box with all the cards and envelopes inside:

A couple of the cards and envelopes:

A couple of just the cards:

And finally just a close-up of one of the cards, I made 6 cards and envelopes with just this one stamp set from SU called Uppsy Daisy. There is 3 different sentiments in the set so I made two cards per sentiment, two birthday, two thank you and two, you're on my mind.

That's about it for today, thanks so much for coming by and hope you have a super day!

Kindness

Good Morning peeps!! This is my card for the Ways to use it challenge on splitcoast. We were to use just one word, I used the kindness from SU's Heard from the heart set. I first made a nine patch "quilt" background using my 1 3/8 inch square punch. Used my mat pack to punch holes in a zig zag pattern on the squares and faux stitched them with my chocolate chip marker. Not my best work, but it will have to do, I sorta feel like I am in a stamping slump, the cards are just not flowing as well as they ususally do.

Two more cards to show you that I made last night, I just got this set, Christmas Classics, yesterday, and I was anxious to play with this ornament stamp. Again, not real happy with either one of these, but here they are anyway!

Well, that's it for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and have a super Thursday!

A Thankful Box

Hey there peeps!
Hope you are having a great Wednesday!

Have you seen this beauty, made by the uper talented Nancy Riley, I just love her style! Well, when I saw it I loved it immediately and knew I wanted to make something like it. So last night I sit down at my craft table to make those pumpkins, they are really easy with the oval punches. But what to do with them........then I spotted a wood box on the shelf, I bought alot of these last year at Michael's and got carried away decorating them. I used them for some treats and gift cards to give to some friends, well guess what? THERE BACK!!! I can fell it coming on!! LOL!!!

I covered the box with paper from the SU Autumn Vine DS paper, it is awesome, love the colors in it! The sentiment is from the set thoroughly thankful also SU. Isn't it cute? I think I will give it to a neighbor, I am thankful to have such great neighbors! I also started another kitty cupcake card, this time with a birthday theme, but didn't get it finished before I had to leave for work, so you'll see that tomorrow.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Cupcake Cards

Hello Peeps!!! Hope you all are having a super Tuesday!!

Today I have a couple of cupcake cards to show you. They are both made with the stamp set Trick or sweet from Taylored Expressions. I just love this set and I ordered as soon as I could after the release. BTW, they are preparing for there new release coming up on Friday on the Stamp a Sweet Impressions Blog, you should check it out, those cupcake stamps are to die for!!!

Anyway back to my cards, the first one, is done as a non halloween card, I wanted to see what else I could do with this halloween set. So what do you think of the little cupcake kitty in pink, cute little valentine card or a thinking of you or whatever, that kitty is so adorable and doesn't look halloween-ey at all when colored like this!!!

Of course, while I had the set out and was playing I had to make a trditional hallloween card, and use my much loved Martha Stewart drippy goo punch!! I love that little ghost pumpkin, and if you leave off the eyes, it would just be a cute icing covered cupcake, I'll try that one soon!!!

Well, this is turning into a long post but I wanted to show you what I made on Sunday, not card related, but food!!!

My daughter took these pictures on her phone, so they are not the best. I made a super good and easy bundt cake, called Apple Pie cake.

And also I made homemade broccoli and cheese soup served in homemade, from frozen bread dough, bread bowls. So YUMMY!!!

Well, thats about it for today! See ya soon and thanks for stopping by!!

Monday Cards

Good Monday morning peeps!!! Hope you all had a great weekend! I have two cards to show you today. The first one is using Jen del Muro's sketch for you to try seen
here

I really like how this came out, altho I struggled so much with it, I finally flipped the sketch, which I seldom do when doing a sketch challenge, I am such a conformist!!! I used paper from SU's new skil slope DS paper, it is awesome! and I just love baja breeze and chocolate chip together, so much so I used it in my next card as well, which I created with this fun new stamp I just got from Hero Arts and Beate's weeknd sketch challenge.

Well, I better get hopping, alot to get done on this Monday! Hope you all have a great day and Thanks so much for stopping by.

Stamp a Stack Cards

Hi again peeps!!! Here are two of the great cards we made last week at my friend Lois' stamp-a-stack! This first one is so cute and made with one of the new in colors, baja breeze. Very pretty color, and we colored in the letters with liquid applique and heat dried so it puffs and looks like snow! How adorable is this?!!!!

I beleive this second one is one of my faves of the night, it is hard to tell in the picture but that snowflake is covered with diamond dust. It is gorgeous, so crisp and clean and I just love the colors!!! Still have a few more to show you later! Thanks agin for stopping by!

Saturday Halloween Challenge Card

Good Saturday Morning peeps!!! Hope you all are having some great weather for the weekend. It is glorious here, cool and crisp, lots of fall colors!! My favorite time of the year! Next to Thanksgiving I love Halloween the most and I love making and sending Halloween cards to all my friends and family!

This card I made for Beate's weekend sketch challenge seen here:WSC62.

I started with a 3 1/2 inch by 11 inch piece of basic black card stock, folded in half. I used the new Ghostly Greetings DSP from SU as my main layer. I then used the pumpkins from SU Autumn Harvest , (one of my all time fave sets) which I water colored with my inks and my Aquapainter. I matted that layer onto a slightly larger piece of pumpkin pie and then more basic black. I used my Martha Stewart drippy goo punch to punch out alot of strips of goo in black and pumpkin, layered them at the top of the card and bottom of the image peice, Stamped the spider and the BOO from the Autmn Apparitions SU set (retired), added some brads and a word window piece with a brad at the top, some piercing and it is done! Oh almost forgot the doodles, I love to doodle!!! Don't forget the inside, I added a piece of white with a strip of DS paper at the bottom.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!

Flower for all Season

Good morning peeps!!

Just got this new set, A flower for all Seasons, last night and also the ski slope DS paper, so I had to use them for the limited supply challenge today on splitcoast!
I didn't realize the images where so small til I went to color them, and man are they ever tiny!!! Even my huge, big ol' light that is mounted on my table didn't help that much!! But I still like the way it turned out. I used my blender pen more than the aqua painter on this since the blender pen has a smaller tip.

Anyway back to the challenge, we could only use 1 kind of DS paper, even if two-sided only could use one side, had to use eyelets, and only one kind of ribbon as our embellishment, I did sneak in a little bling on the flower centers, but it is hardly noticeable, so don't tell!

Last night was stamp a stack, with my new friend, and fellow demo, Donna. Since I am just a hobby demo, and I like to get together with people and stamp, I joined a friends stamp group. We have had two stamp a stacks in the last couple of weeks from the two demos in that group. Such Fun!! I will be posting a few pictures from those two groups later today!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Thanksgiving card

Good Thursday morning peeps!!!

I have a Thanksgiving or fall card to show you today.

I based my card on this one from Denise aka peanutbee, that I saw on her blog. Her card is adorable, with a new stamp set by Whipper Snapper and the fabulous Anna Wight, aka sweetmissdaisy!!! Isn't that snowman the cutest, I must look for that set!

I thought it would be cute made for fall with the scarecrow from SU's new Happy Blessing's set. Well my vision didn't go much like I had hoped, but still I keep going and ended up with this card. I wanted to make the sentiment from this set into a sign, but I am not an artist and I couldn't draw a sign I really was happy with. I got a little carried away with my doddling, I was trying to make vines or grapevines. I guess the pain medicine is still effecting my abilities to make cards.

Well, thanks for stopping by today! Have a great one!!

A Wednesday Sketch and a couple of treat boxes

Good Wednesday morning peeps!!! Please don't be too hard on me over this first card, I am on pain meds!! I went to the doctor yesterday with a back problem and found I had UTI, which is what caused the back to mess up and he also found my blod pressure was high and my blood sugar was still running to high, so 5 prescriptions later I got out of there, it is no wonder people don't go to the doctor like they should!!

I really wanted to do the sketch challenge posted on splitcoast, and this is what happens when cardmaking and vicadon are mixed!!!! LOL!!! I had such a hard time with this card! I even at one point glued the main image face down!

I think maybe it should have been a fall card because the center elements remind me of a turkey's tail feathers!! Funny how a card in your head rarely comes out that way on paper!

Here are a couple of small treat boxes I made as well!

They are super fun to make, just start with a square of 6 x 6 inch cardstock or DS paper and score at 2" and 4" flip the cardstock 90 degrees and score again at 2" and 4" and then score at 45 degree angles in the corner. fold up and run ribbon through the top, I used eyelets and decorate. Easy peasy!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Halloween and Christmas

Good Monday morning all!!! Funny how I say that, since I don't know if anyone is reading this yet! I have a couple of cards to share with you today, that I made on Sunday. I had gotten this poinsettia stamp from Holly Berry House last year and I had not used it yet. I had seen a few really gorgeous cards in the last couple of weeks made with the new poinsetta stamp by Flourish, and it made me think of this stamp I had, so I drug it out and played with it a bit yesterday. I stamped it twice in versamark on watercolor paper and then gold embossed them. I watercolored them with real red and bravo burgandy and some riding hood red, then cut and layered. I added some stickles in the center. I really like how it came out, even tho I can't really get a good photograph of it. The card is big, 5 /14 inch square.

The next card is one I made with the sketch from Jen del Muro's blog.

I realy love that drippy goo punch and these pumpkins from the SU set autumn harvest. I also used the autumn apparitions stamp set for the sentiment and the spider. I started by stamping the small pumpkin from the autmn harvest set on watercolor paper. I then masked him off and stamped the larger pumpkin beside the other smaller pumpkin. After watercoloring them I cut them out and pop dotted them up on another peice of watercolor paper that I had sponged with some chocolate chip and night of navy ink and then used my aquapainter to blend, I cut the circle with my nesties. I really had fun with this one.

So what do you think?

Weekend Sketch Challenge

Good Saturday morning! This is the card I made for Beate's weekend sketch challenge.
I really struggled with the layout on this, my original card, which was tossed, was not square, and I was not happy with it at all, but after sleeping on it, when I got up this morning I took it apart and made this square version. I like this one much better. I have to tell you, cutting out that image was a real bogger, it even broke at one of the stems, but I don't think you can tell after I got it onto the card. Not sure I would try to cut it out again!

My friend Lois just signed up to be a stampin up demo and had her first Stamp a Stack last night. It was so fun and we made 10 awesome cards, I will be showing you those later.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!!

Limited Supply Card

This is my card for the limited supply challenge on Splitcoast: Rock, Paper, Scissors!

I was thrilled Judy asked me to make a sample for this challenge!

I used some of my silver hardware, that I tend to hoard, for this card to represent the rock, I cut the paper for the cirle hardware with my scissors, a punch would have been much easier, since I traced and cut and cut and cut and cut some more to get it to fit, and by the way, how do you all hold your paper in the hardware?

I really like this new SU set, I love to watercolor and this set is perfect for that, and I love fall and all fall colors!
