OCC...How green is your Spring

Happy Saturday Peeps!!
It is time for another new challenge over at Our Creative Corner.
This week our hostess is the fabulous Marcy Kimiski. Here is her challenge for us:

How Green is Your Spring" Inspiration Photo.
I LOVE this montage - it's chock full of inspiration.
Show us Spring in its full splendor, using GREEN as your main color!

Green is not a favorite color of mine, but heck I'll give it a whirl!! :)
I was inspired by the flowers and decided to pull out the retired Stampin Up set called "Because I Care" stamp set.
I stamped the hydrangea with black stazon twice onto some confetti cream card stock and colored up the flower with lucky limeade and baja blue ink using my aqua painter. I cut out just the head of the flower and added it over the first one with a few dimensionals.
I used the French foliage stamp set on the BG and sponged it with crumb cake and early espresso ink.

I used some pear pizzazz seam binding ribbon along with some ruffled baja ribbon across the bottom. I punched a couple of sections of baja card stock with the pinking hearts border punch and added them to the main image piece. The sentiment comes from the retired "Something to Celebrate" stamp set. I added a few basic pearls at the top and bottom, I sponged them a bit with some early espresso ink.

Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog
to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun challenge.
I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do, don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it!

Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

PCS High Tea Blog Hop

Welcome to the Paper Crafters Sampler “High Tea” blog hop featuring our 3D teapot template from the March issue of the Paper Crafters Sampler entitled, “Orange Blossom Tearoom”.

Did you just arrive here from Lisa's Blog? Wasn't her take on this template wonderful? I just love her style.
Don't worry if you just started the hop it runs in a full circle so you won't miss anything

With the current trend of tea images in the paper crafting world, it only seemed appropriate to offer a tea-related template, and that is our newest “High Tea” 3D, teapot.
Now-a-days, teapots come in so many sizes and shapes, it was easy to find one for some inspiration. Here is mine:

I printed the template out on Crumb Cake card stock and then cut out the pieces. I embossed all of the pieces with the perfect dots EF using my Big Shot. I used the Tasteful Trim die for the scallop and rick rack around the base.
The flowers are made using my 3/4 inch and 1/4 inch circle punch using real red and daffodil delight card stock. I stacked these circles together and added a gold brad to the center. I used old olive card stock to make the stems and leaves. the leaves are punched with the Build a Blossom punch. I added a small heart at the top, it comes from the Heart to Heart punch.

As a Thank You for veiwing, each design team member will be selecting a random winner to receive a free issue of the March 2012 "Orange Blossom Tearoom" issue.

To enter the drawing, simply leave me a comment on this post from now until Friday after viewing the teapot.  Increase your chance of winning by leaving a comment on each design team members blog.  Winning viewers will be announced and will receive their March issue link Saturday, March 31st.

Now feel free to go back and take another peek at Lisa's tea pot or hop on over to Tiffany's Blog to see her creative take on this fun template.

Have a great day and HAPPY STAMPING!!

411 Sketch.....Hello

Happy Monday Peeps!!
Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week on the Stamping 411 Blog.
Here is the sketch:
I decided to make some fun Black Eyed Susan's, a favorite summer flower of mine.
I used the Sizzix Daisies #2 die to make my flowers. I used daffodil delight card stock and cut the daises in half and sponged the petals a bit with some soft suede ink.
the centers are made using my circle and large oval punches. I then embossed the centers with the square lattice EF and sponged the edges of the chocolate chip card stock with early espresso ink.
The flowers are mounted with dimesionals to the embossed  BG.

The base of the card is daffodil delight.
I used some chocolate chip scallop edged polka dot ribbon. I turned the polka dots to the back and tied my bow.
The sentiment is from the SAB Elementary Elegance stamp set. I used the curly label punch to punch it out.

Thanks for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC155....Easter Bunny

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

It is time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Here is the SWEET sketch Karen has for us this week:

I used the sweet Stampin Up set called "Everybunny". I colored the images with my aqua painter and ink pads  .The image is stamped with black stazon onto the main panel and again a few times onto some scrap paper and I cut out the peices I wanted to use.
I added in some old olive for the gras and colored in some baja breeze for the sky. The clouds are made with the cupcake punch.

The base of the card is calypso Coral and the DSP is from the Everyday Enchantment paper pack.
I added the little elements at the base of the main image using old olive and the word window punch. I cut the ends into a "v" shape with my paper snips and then embossed with the square lattice EF. The little flowers are a punch in the Itty Bitty Punch pack and I curled them a bit and added a pearl to the centers. The sentiment comes from the same set.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

OK, let's see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team, and Guest Designer has in store for us this week:

OCC....Spring Break Challenge

Happy Saturday Peeps, It is time for another new challenge on Our Creative Corner.
This week Anita Houston has a fun "Spring Break" Challenge for us:
Spring has sprung yet again!
It's time to take that annual well deserved vacation.
Where would your postcard come from?
Make whatever you like and show us your "spring break vacation destination".
Remember to include the name of your destination somewhere on your project.

I didn't have any stamps I thought would work for this until I went rummaging around into some of my non SU stamps and came across this Eiffel Tower stamp and it had "Paris" on it so it was perfect for this.
Altho I will probably will never go to Paris, cos I can't even bring myself to get on an airplane, in a "perfect"  world I would have already been there. :)
I decided to make a vintage tag, keep it simple.
I did use a few Stampin Up stamps, the BG uses French Foliage, Creative Elements and Elementary Elegance.
I stamped and sponged with Crumb Cake ink.
I sponged in a splash of color using some Baja Breeze.
The Eiffel Tower element was stamped onto a scrap and cut out and added to the tag with some dimesionals.

I stamped the birds from the Elementary Elegance stamp set with Soft Suede ink and added just a hint of blushing bride by stamping a couple of flowers from the Creative Elements stamp set, can you see them?
The sentiment is from the same set and is stamped onto a scrap piece of confetti cream with soft suede ink.
I added a bit of baja ruffled ribbon under the sentiment flag. The bow at the top is made with baja breeze seam binding ribbon and I used an antique brad in the center.
I distressed the edges of the tag with my distressing tool.

Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog
to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun challenge.
I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do, don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it!

Hello

TGIF Peeps!!
Hope you all have had a great week, it has been non stop rain and gloom here in southwest MO all week.  So I thought I would try and chase away some of the gloom with a bright sun shiney card.
I hear that yellow and gray is a hot color combo right now and I can certainly understand why after working with them.
I wanted to use some of the new and coming to customers in April, "Summer Smooches" products. I finally dove into the Designer Paper and Daffodil Delight seam binding ribbon.
The base of the card is Basic Gray card stock and then I added pretty piece of DSP.
I then used another piece of basic gray card stock that I had embossed with the dots folder.

The stamp is from the "Just Believe" stamp set from Stampin' Up. I stamped it with Basic Gray ink onto the  whisper white card stock.
I then used my Boho Blossom punch and punched a few flowers with some daffodil delight card stock.
the smallest flower at the top is made with one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack. I "cupped" all the flowers by using my mat pack and stylus. Lay the punched flower onto the foam piece from the mat pack and using your stylus make small circles in the middle of the flower which makes the flower curl up a bit.
I added the flowers to the card using my tombow glue. I then added a pearl to each flower center.
The sentiment comes from the SAB Elementary Elegance stamp set.  I used the 1-1/4 inch and 1-3/8 inch circle punches to make the circle sentiment piece. I added a row of pearls under the sentiment and some pearls to the corners.
Thanks for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

PPA131....Vintage Birthday Wishes

Happy Monday Peeps!!
Today I am sharing a card made using the sketch challenge this week on the Pals Paper Arts Blog.
I had a request for a vintage birthday card with some blue from a customer.
I started out with one of the label framelits and very vanilla card stock. I ran it through the big shot and left the die in place on top of the card stock and stamped my images and sponged all around the metal die.
I stamped the french script BG with crumb cake ink and then the flower images from the Simply Soft hostess set was stamped with timber brown stazon. I then sponged all around with crumb cake ink.
I colored the flowers in with my aqua painter using Baja Breeze ink.

I used the vintage wall EF on the soft suede card stock strip and sponged it with some early espresso ink. The DSP is from the Pocketful of Posies paper pack.
I added some crochet lace trim and an antique brad to the side as well.
The sentiment is from the Occasional Quotes stamp set and stamped with early espresso ink onto very vanilla and sponges with a bit of crumb cake ink. I hand cut the end and matted it with soft suede. I used a punch from the itty bitty punch pack to make the little flower on the sentiment flag. I used a basic pearl in the flower center and three pearls in the top corner.
Hope she likes it, thanks for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

411 Sketch x 2

Good Sunday Morning Peeps!!
Today I am sharing a couple of cards I made using the sketch this week on the Stamping 411 Blog.
Of course my card is not exactly like the sketch:
But you can see the basics of the sketch on my cards.
The first one uses Concord Crush and Wisteria Wonder card stock along with Whisper White.
I used the Stampin Up "Mixed Bunch" stamp set

This one I used Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink card stock along with the Whisper White.
I stamped and embossed the BG pieces and added to the bases. The flowers are stamped with the two colors respectively and I used the Blossom punch to punch them out. The centers are punched with my 1 inch and 1-1/4 inch circle punches.
I added a silver brad to the flower centers, and also to the top corners and to represent the element in the bottom corner of the sketch.
The sentiment on the Concord Crush card is from the "Curly Cute" stamp set and the pink sentiment is from the "Occasional Quotes" stamp set.
I used the Build a Blossom punch for the leaves.
Can you believe NO ribbon? I know not my normal, but I like how these cards turned out, simple but oh so pretty IRL. The colors are so rich!
Well, that is it from me for today, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!

OCC....BINGO

Top of the morning to ya and Happy St. Patty's Day!!!
It is Saturday so that means a new challenge at Our Creative Corner. Our hostess this week is the fabulous Anita Houston from the The Artful Maven Haven and she has a fun challenge for us this week. Here it is in her own words:
As luck would have it today's challenge falls on St. Patrick's Day! Ah, the luck of the Irish, or so some say. Make a card or tag with some sort of bingo card on it, and use the color green somewhere on the project.

I searched online a bit and found a Bingo card that I could print out and went from there.
I thought since it was St. Patrick's Day I would just make a card with that theme.
I made my shamrock using the Fashionable Hearts Embosslits Die and the clover flowers are made using the bird punch.

I added some rhinestones to the flower and shamrock centers and used some white satin ribbon across the bottom. The DSP is wild wasabi and from the patterns pack. the sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog
to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun challenge.
I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do, don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it!

One of the fun new products that would be available to purchase in April.
A fun new suite of products that will be in the 2012-2013 catalog called Summer Smooches.
Well, as a demonstrator I was able to preorder that product at the beginning of March so I can play and make some samples to be ready when it is available in April.
I was so excited to play with this new die.
The Petite Purse Bigz Die

Cute!!
The Summer Smooches Suite also contains some pretty new DSP, fabric covered brads, fabric, daffodil delight seam binding ribbon, as well as a new stamp set. More on all those later, I just couldn't bring myself to cut into the new DSP yet.... it takes me a few days!! LOL!
I just grabbed some paper and card stock from my scrap folder to make these two little purses!

411 Sketch---Thank You

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!
Today I am sharing a card I whipped up last night using the sketch challenge on the Stamping 411 Blog. Well, that is what I started out with, I strayed just a bit from the sketch.

I think you can still see the basic sketch on my card. I tilted the main panel a bit but the rest is  pretty much all there.
The base of my card is confetti cream card stock and then I followed that with some peach parfait and the DSP is from the SAB Everyday Enchantment pack.

The flowers are from the Stampin Up "Field Flowers" and this time I stamped the flowers with some black stazon and used my markers to color. I used lucky limeade fro the stems and for the flowers I used Peach and tangerine and also some pumpkin pie. The centers are crumb cake, soft suede and early espresso.

I added just a bit of a punched edge with some lucky limeade and the scallop trim edge punch.
I used some peach parfait ribbon and basic pearls for the accents.
The sentiemnt comes form the Occasional Quotes stamp set.
Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Paper Players Color Challenge

Happy Monday peeps!!!
Today I am sharing a card I made using the gorgeous color challenge on the The Paper Players Blog.
The challenge colors are Crumb Cake, Wisteria Wonder, Pear Pizzazz and Pool Party.

You all know I love this Stampin Up set "Bordering on Romance", I had not yet colored those pretty flowers with Wisteria so when I saw the color challenge I knew right away that I needed to give it a try!
I used Pear Pizzazz on the leaves and Pool Party on the buds. I did sneak in a small amount of Daffodil Delight on the little daisies and flower centers. I then shaded all around the image with crumb cake.

I cut the main image out with the labels framelits and then the layer under that is wisteria that I embossed with the square lattice EF.
The sentiment comes from the Occasional Quotes hostess stamp set.
I used the doily die, I made two cuts. Love that die!
The DSP on the top comes from the Beau Chateau paper pack. I added some pear pizzazz scallops and used crumb cake seam binding. I colored a couple of basic pearls with a marker. I slid a bit of the second doily under the scallops and ribbon for some added interest at the top.

Kinda a busy card, just the way I like 'em!!!
Thanks for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC154.....Happiest Birthday

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

It is time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Here is the SWEET sketch Karen has for us this week:

I took a little liberty with the sketch by not using a square for my main image piece.
I stamped an image from the Stampin Up Apothecary Art onto very vanilla card stock with some timber brown stazon. I colored using my aqua painter and ink pads. I had cut out the image following the outside line. I die cut a label framelit using pool party for the mat.

I used soft suede card stock for the base and then followed that with pool party card stock and the DSP is from the Attic Boutique paper pack. I embossed a piece of soft suede with the square lattice EF and cut the "V" in the bottom. I used some daffodil delight satin ribbon across the middle and tied a bow. The main image is added to the card with some dimesionals. The sentiment is from the same set and is stamped with soft suede ink and cut out and added with dimesionals to the main piece.

OCC.....Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!
It is time for another Our Creative Corner Challenge.
This week our hostess with the mostest is the fabulous Holly Kean and she has a fun challenge for us:

"Tic Tac Toe Challenge"
Play along with us in a game of papercrafting tic-tac-toe. Choose "three in a row" on the Tic-Tac-Toe board and make sure you work those elements into your papercraft project.

I know you can guess what "three in a row" I choose.
I love flowers and pink and brads!
I decided I wanted to make one of these bags I have seen around that uses two die cuts from the Fancy Favor Box die.
I used Pretty in Pink for the bottom and the top die cut is made using some DSP from the Attic Boutique pack.
I used some pretty flower roses from the Stampin Up "Flower Fest" stamp set. I stamped with versamark onto some pretty in pink card stock and used white embossing powder on them. The leaves are done the same way onto wild wasabi card stock.
The sentiment comes from the SAB set Elementary Elegance stamp set and I used Early Espresso ink to stamp it into the oval. I added some silver brads to the corners of the main element.

PCS Creative Take~Bentley Bunny

Happy Friday Peeps,
I am back again with another Creative Take on a template from the current issue of the Paper Crafters Sampler. Bentley Bunny is available in the February 2012 Easter Blessings
This bunny is so sweet and charming I just love the look of of him made onto DSP. I used some retired paper from the "Delicate Dots" paper pack.I printed the template out on paper and put it together.
I decided to keep him simple with just a bow of white satin ribbon and pearl for the eye.
I did make a yarn pom-pom for his tail.

He would be cute filled with some flowers for a table or buffet centerpiece or stuff with some candy for a friend or neighbor!
Check out the Easter Blessings sampler for this template and several other Easter ideas!
Thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

PCS Creative Take~Limoge Box

Happy Thursday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing  my creative take
on a project offered in a past issue of the Paper Crafters Sampler.
The "Limoge Box" template
was featured in the December 2011 issue Adorned Holidays.

I decided to make a "pot of  gold" Limoge box for St. Patty's Day.
I printed the template out onto my wild wasabi card stock and I also printed it onto plain copy paper to use for a template for the mat pieces.
I used some Stampin Up Brushed cold card stock that I embossed with the Vintage Wall Embossing Folder.

I added alot of gold brads all around and used some retired wild wasabi ribbon for the bow and top loop.

I used my Scallop Trim Punch to add a bit more interest around the opening of the box.
I filled the box with some gold wrapped Hershey Kisses, it holds alot!
The Adorned Holiday is a awesome edition of the sampler, it is packed full of great projects for the holidays but also has items that can be used for other special occasions as well and it is on sale right now so hop on over and check it out! I have another project using another template from this same issue I will be showing you next week. You are gonna love it!

PCS Creative Take~Sweetly Dispensed

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!
Today I am sharing  my creative take on a project offered in a past issue of the Paper Crafters Sampler.
The "Sweetly Dispensed" template was featured in the January 20012 issue Expression of Affection.
This is a really fun template to work with and could be used for any holiday or celebration you like. I chose to make this on for Easter. I used Calypso Coral to print my template onto and then used some DSP from the Everyday Enchantment paper pack.
I used the scallop edgelit along the top and bottom edges.
I think that the stripped  DSP and scallop edge makes my box have the look of a store with an awning. Too cute!

I used the stamp set "Everybunny" for the cute little bunny image and sentiment.
Be sure and check out the Expressions of Affection Issue to get this template!
Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

OCC....Making Melody

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!
It is time for another Our Creative Corner Challenge.
This week our hostess with the mostest is the fabulous Holly Kean and she has a fun challenge for us:

Making Melody" -  Music can be such a motivating thing in life, why not in your papercrafting too? Take inspiration from a song and work it into any papercraft project you'd like. Just make sure your post includes the song title (and if possible the artist) that inspired you!

I wasn't sure what to do with this one, I went looking through my stamp sets to try and find some "song" inspiration when I came across the sentiment from the Stampin Up "Word Play". It made me think of a song I really like by Alan Jackson with this title "Remember When". So I decided to use it since I really had no other idea. I stamped the sentiment with black stazon onto some confetti white card stock. I then decided since the song was about looking back to the past and remembering good and bad times I would  use this vintage looking flower stamp from "Elements of Style". It is a stretch I know but hey I was kinda stumped by this challenge  :)!

I used some rich razzleberry ink and my aqua painter to color my flowers along with some old olive for the leavesd and a bit of daffodil delight for the flower centers. I shaded around the flower with some crumb cake to add to the vintage feel. I added some rich razzleberry satin ribbon to the top corner at an angle and tied a bow. I matted this whole piece onto some razzleberry card stock and then mounted it to the card base.

Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog
to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun challenge. I am sure you will find their ideas a bit more "inspired" than mine!!
I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do, don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it!

Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Birthday Tulips

Happy Friday Peeps!!
Today I am sharing a card I made using Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.
First let me apologize for the quality of my picture, I have tried for two days to get a good picture of this card, don't know what it is about this card but I can not get a nice picture.
It looks so dull in the picture but IRL it is pretty and bright.

I wanted to make some fun tulips since it is so close to spring, in fact my tulips are up and my daffodils are blooming, way early but that is the kind of weather we all have been having lately, nothing like the norm.

I pulled out some retired paper this is from the Stampin Up Sweet Slumber Speciality pack.
I used the wing from the bird punch to make my tulips. The leaves are made with the blossom builder punch, I punched out a large leaf and then trimmed it down to make my leaves.

I did vary the sketch just a bit, I have the bottom strip behind my main panel instead of going over it like in the sketch.

I used the petite pairs stamp set for my sentiment and added a small button with a silver brad through it to the edge of the circle sentiment piece.
I used some silver brads in the corners and some 1/8 inch taffeta ribbon across the bottom of the main piece.
The base of the card is crumb cake card stock and the matting behind the main panel is riding hood red and the leaves are always artichoke.

Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!
