Freshly Made Sketches......Somebunny

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.
Actually I am just under the wire getting this one done to link this week.

Here is the fun sketch:

I decided to make a Easter card and use my MFT Somebunny stamp set. I love this set and those bunnies......Adorbs!!

I stamped the bunny and wagon onto some white card stock with Memento black ink and colored with my copic markers. I made my little bunny a pretty gray this time, isn't she cute?

The base of the card is Wisteria Wonder and then a layer of white that I die cut with one of the dies from the MFT Blueprints die-namics #20, I just love that scalloped rectanbgle.
I then cut a layer of DSP, it is from a retired SU pack, can't think of the name, the DSP is cut with another die from a different Blueprints #13.
The Somebunny sentiment along with the "Wishes You" are from the Somebunny stamp set.
My Happy Easter comes from a Lawn Fawn set.
I added a die cut sun and a few enamel dots to finish it up!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Sweet Sunday.....With Sympathy

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Here is the sweet sketch this week:

When I sat down to make my card for this sketch, a couple of weeks ago, I had the death of a school friend fresh on my mind. A girl who was a important part of my young life, a good friend and confident. We had remained friends into adulthood but I had loss touch with her several years back. Last fall she began to be on my mind and I had mentioned her to my husband several times and was wondering where she was and what she was doing. I wish now I had made more of an effort to find her then, because by the time I was made aware of her situation she was in a coma in the hospital and passed just a few days after I spoke with her husband. I was so very sad.
Any way this card is for her, I won't be able to send it to anyone, no services for her but it is for her none the less.

I started with my crumb cake layer. I used a stencil and crumb cake ink to had the harlequin BG.

I have to say I was very inspired by our former Sweet Sunday team member Jackie Pedro in making this card. Altho I did not use a particular card of hers I have always admired how she used kraft and vanilla with a pop of one color and these roses are some she used a lot. They are made using the MFT mini hybrid heirloom rose die. I love it and the die was a gift from her.
I used Crisp Cantaloupe card stock for my roses.

The leaf flourish is also a MFT die and is cut with some Pear Pizzazz card stock. The sentiment is
from a retired SU set.

Thanks for dropping by today and for helping me honor my friends passing.

Be sure and head over to the Sweet Sunday Blog to be inspired by the rest of the DT, they have some fabulous samples with this sketch to show you!

Easter Treat Fabric Purses

Happy Friday peeps!!!

Popping in here quickly to share some cute little Easter treat purses I made.

I used the Stampin Up purse die to make these little cuties.

I started with the Stampin Up Adhesive sheets and covered some Pink Pirouette card stock.
I then peeled off the backing and added my fabric, making a layer of card stock and fabric stuck together to run through my Big Shot with the die.

I cut out ten of these little purses.

I put them together using some score tape. The handles are put on with silver brads.

I then dug out these long ago retired flower brads from my stash and used them to decorate the fronts.
I added a small pearl to the flower center. I used crystal effects to put the pearls onto the brad. They are sticky back but I wanted to make sure the pearl did not fall off.

I then dug through all my ribbon and found this retired pink and yellow to match my brads and added a bow to the handle. Simple, easy peasy and finished in no time.
I think they turned out cute. I will add some chocolate to the purse and have some cute little Easter treats for some lucky girls!

MFT, Color Throwdown......hello

Happy Wednesday peeps!!

I am off work today and it is a rainy/stormy day so I decided to play a bit at my stamp table.

I looked at the MFT Card Challenge Blog and found a fun sketch:

and I also used the Color Throwdown Challenge:

As you can see I turned the sketch on its side. I started with some white card stock cut at 4 x 5 1/4 inches.
I rounded the top corners and then used a stencil to add a bit of color to the white piece. I used some so saffron ink and a sponge dauber over the stencil.

The roses are cut using Cherry Cobbler card stock and the MFT mini hybrid heirloom rose die.
I used some Pear Pizzazz card stock for the flourish leaf swirl. I then added a few small so saffron flowers around the roses.

The hello is die cut several times, and glued together using Early Espresso card stock. the base of the card is Early Espresso as well.
I really love that hello die!! I finished it up with three enamel dots in the top corner as per the sketch.

Happy, Happy Birthday

Happy Tuesday  peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made today.

I was playing around with my distress inks again and made this fun background.

I used Squeezed Lemonade, Salty Ocean and Picked Raspberry.

This time I applied my ink to a piece of acetate and then spritzed with some water and squished it onto my watercolor paper. I started with my middle color, the Salty Ocean and then went to the Squeezed Lemonade and then to the Picked Raspberry.
I really love how these colors combined and ran together. I spritzed a bit more water onto the piece as needed to get the colors to blend and flow. I hit the paper with my heat gun in between each color to set them and keep them from muddying up.

I used the MFT Pure Innocence Happy Banner  girl and colored her dress to match my BG using my copic markers.
She is die cut out with her matching die.
The balloons are from the MFT Somebunny stamp set and colored with copics as well. I cut out the balloons and added them to the base with foam tape. I just hand drew in the tails.
The happy banner girl is added to the base with foam tape as well.
I stamped the rest of the sentiment onto the base with Black Memento Ink.

I am adding this to the Curtain Call Inspiration challenge:

Sweet Sunday.....Happy Birthday

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Time for another new Sweet Sunday Sketch.

I am using a set I just got, it is Lil Inkers Surprise
I just love this sweet little image. This set is from their Sugar Kissed Cottage line of stamps.
They are so cute, I think I need them all!!

I stamped the image with Memento Black Ink and colored with my copic markers.

The base of the card is white card stock and then a layer of real red card stock. I die cut this layer with one of the dies from the MFT Blueprints 20 Die set, the image piece is next and is also cut with one of the dies from the Blueprint set.
The little red piece across the bottom is cut with the large scallop die as well, I just cut it again to make it the size I needed.
The Happy Birthday is a die cut from Lawn Fawn. The die actually cuts the words "Happy Birthday to You" so  just cut off the to you section so it would fit on my card.
I added the image piece to the base with some foam tape.
I added glossy accents to the balloons and I used my Wink of Stella pen onto the girls clothes.
I finished up with a few red enamel dots.

FMS.......Hello

Happy Thursday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card i made using the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches blog.

As you all know I have been playing around a lot with water coloring with distress inks. I love playing with the different colors and seeing what backgrounds I can make for my cards.

I used a few colors on my water color paper. I then used the Stampin Up Peaceful Petals stamp setfor my flower. I stamped with Versamark onto water color paper and embossed with white embossing powder. I did the same with the leaf stamp. I then water colored and cut them out.

The flower and leaves are mounted onto a die cut doily from My Favorite Things. The "hello" is cut three times from black card stock and glued and stacked up and then added to the card.
I added a bit of black enamel over the die cuts to give it the shine.

The base of the card is white and then a layer of black and then the water colored BG. the flower and doily element is added to the base with dimensionals.

Lil' Inker.....Rain Boy

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using this cute little stamp set from Lil Inker called
Rain Boy.

Isn't it adorable??!!!

I stamped the image onto some Confetti Cream card stock using Memento Black ink and colored with my copic markers.

I decided to keep my card fairly simple and just let the little image do all the shining!!

The sentiments come from the same set and are stamped with Black ink as well,

I matted the main image with some Buckaroo Blue card stock and then the base is more confetti cream.
The main panel is added to the base using some foam tape.
I added three vintage mother of pearl buttons. I have a large stash of these buttons from my mother's button box that I inherited. :) I decided it was time to use them and not just hoard them.

I am adding this to the Lil Inker Monthly Meet Up Challenge

Curtain Call.......Happy Easter

Happy Monday Peeps!

Today I am sharing card I made using the challenge Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge.

I started by making my BG piece. I am obsessed with this technique. I used some water color paper and distressed inks. The colors I used are Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar. I used lots of water to keep these colors very pastel. I love the look.

The main image are some stamps from Lawn Fawn called Eggsrta Special Day. I stamped the images onto somewhite card stock and colored with my distress ink pads. I used my Wink of Stella pen to color with like using a blender pen. The image is so sparkly IRL.

I used the same colors as above plus Spiced Marmalade and Dusty Concord. The basket is painted with Stampin Up's Crumb Cake ink pad.
The bow and the egg with the jelly beans falling out of are stamped onto some scrap paper, colored, cut out and added to the image with some foam tape.
The sentiment is stamped with the Peacock Feathers ink.
The image is matted with some Pretty In Pink card stock, the very last piece I could find. I need to find some more of this ASAP. I added the image to my water colored BG with more foam tape and tilted it slightly cos I love wonky panels!! :)
The base of the card is white and then a layer of pink card stock and then another layer of white.
I then added some bakers twine and a few iridescent sequins to finish it up!

Sweet Sunday.......You're Earresistible

Happy Sunday Peeps!!!

Time for another new Sweet Sunday Sketch.

Such a fun sketch this week, you know I am a big fan of tilted panels a;tho this one kinda gave
me fits when putting my card together. LOL!!

I wanted to use my new Lawn Fawn set called Eggstra Special Easter. I got the idea to make my chocolate bunnies from one I saw on the Lawn Fawn Blog.
I stamped the Bunnies with Versmark ink onto some Early Espresso card stock and embossed with white embossing powder. I colored the bows and ears with some colored pencils. I cut them out and set them aside to make up the rest of the card.

The base of the card is Crumb Cake card stock and then all the DSP is matted with Early Espresso card stock.
The DSP on here is from some retired SU packs.
The main panels is some retired bashful blue card stock that I embossed with another retired SU embossing folder. I hand cut some Pear Pizzazz card stock for the grass area.
The sentiment is stamped with Early Espresso ink onto some Crumb Cake card stock. I cut the end into a banner and curled it a bit. I attached it just under the bunnies.
I finished it up with a few gold sequins.
Now be sure an head over to the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge Blog to see all the amazing design teams creations with this fun sketch!

MFT Sketch........Happy Hello Beautiful

Happy Friday Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week on the MFT Challenge Blog.

I did take a bit of creative license with the sketch, but I think you can see the basic sketch in may card.
I had been playing around again with my water coloring and I used the same technique that I used on my last card. I had this BG piece already made up and decided to use it on my card.
I used the MFT Happy Hello dies, I die cut the hello out of the bg piece and layered some white cardstock behind it. I then cut another hello out of some white card stock. I embedded this hello into the BG and then used the negative pieces from the BG hello to fill in. Does that make sense? I am sure you all know how this works. I die cut my hello at an angle to mimic the angle in the sketch.

I used the MFT Pure Innocence Happy Banner. I stamped and die cut her out and then colored using my copic markers.
The Be You {Tiful} sentiment is from the Stampin Up Flower Patch stamp set.
The base of the card is Crumb Cake card stock.
I finished the card off with a few enamel dots.

Because I Care

Happy Monday peeps!!!

Recently I have become slightly obsesses with water coloring.
I decided to invest in some nice watercolors and some distress inks.

This card is my first attempt at water coloring with distress inks,
I really love how easy they are to use for this purpose and how well they blend together.

I looked at the challenge this week on Paper Players Blog and saw it was a color challenge:

I thought these colors would be pretty for my water coloring attempt and set forth to match them the best I could with the distress inks I had already gotten.

I started with some watercolor paper and stamped the image from Stampin Up's World of Dreams with some Versamark ink onto the paper.
I then embossed the image with white embossing powder.
I stamped and embossed the sentiment in thesame way, it comes from the Stampin Up retired Because I Care stamp set.

I then taped my water color paper down to a hard board and wet it thoroughly.
I then began to add my color. I started with Wild Honey and then Spiced Marmalade and then Mowed Lawn.

I dried with my heat tool and then added drops of water and let it set for a few and then dabbed off with a paper towel. This creates the splotches. Love that look!
The base of the card is Crumb Cake and then water color piece is layered onto some white.
I finished the card up with a few gold sequins.

I am also linking this in the Virginia's View Challenge #13

Sweet Sunday......Somebunny Shaker

Happy Sunday Peeps!!!

We have some exciting news to share this week!

We are all thrilled to have anew home and a place dedicated to just our sketch challenge.
We are all pitching in on this so Karen is not so overwhelmed with running the challenge.

There are some new design team members, you will be excited when you see who!

This week with all the the changes going on we decided to go freestyle, you can pick from any of the past sketches for your card this week. You can see them all HERE.

I decided to go back into the files and picked sketch 176

Well at least my version of it anyway!! This is a sketch I designed way back when so I thought it was alright to change it up just a bit!! LOL!!!

I decided to jump on board with the shaker card craze going on and make one

I used the MFT stamp set called Somebunny. This card was a real booger to put together, I had never made a shaker card before so it was an experience,  I need to work on my technique for making these but it turned out cute and that is all that matters right?

I picked up some fun sequins and stars to add to the shaker from work.
The image was stamped with black Memento ink and colored with my copic markers.
I cut my own banner myself since I don't have any dies like this, they are on my list to get tho. LOL!
Under the banner is an acetate circle and two layers of fun foam that run the whole length of the banner. I cut circles in the banner with my circle dies. I glued this stack all together and added the colored image behind it all, first putting the shaker bits inside.
The DSP is some SU, can't remember name of the pack, the color is Strawberry Slush. I love that color!
I stamped the sentiment onto some white and curled it a bit and snipped the end.
I added it just under the circle and finished it with a button and some white bakers twine.
I added two white brads at the top that I cut off the back prongs and glued on using some crystal effects.
OK that is all from me, head over to the new
and see all the design team cards.
Pick a sketch and link it up over there!
I am so excited about the new blog and our new designer team members

MFT Sketch Challenge.......Bear Hugs

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

I was playing around with this cute little Pure Innocence stamp from MFT
called Big Bear Hugs and decided to take a look at this week's MFT Sketch Challenge

I thought my little girl with her bear would be perfect.
I had already colored her so I had to go in search of some matching paper. I found this green piece in my stash, it is some Stampin Up but I don't know which pack it is from. But it has polka dots, and I love polka dots, so I thought it was perfect.
I decided to keep it fairly simple. I used some Kraft card stock for the base and then a layer of white.
I then cut the DSP in the shape of the element on the sketch.

I added a strip of kraft across the DSP and stamped my sentiment on it.

I dropped my block while stamping the sentiment and smudge some black onto the card so out came the sequins to cover the little smear. I contemplated adding something else on the white piece, maybe some embossing or stamping but in the end just kept it simple.

Sweet Sunday.....Best Friends are the Best Gift

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

I pulled out my new MFT Pure Innocence stamp called "Big Bear Hugs".
I have always been a big fan of the Pure Innocence line and this one is super cute!!

I went with my purple color theme again, (Sorry about that, I will put it away soon, I promise.)
I stamped the image with black memento ink onto some white card stock and colored it with my copic markers. I then die cut the circle with the pierced circle die-namics.
The square is made up of Concord Crush card stock matted with white. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and embossed with some white embossing powder.

The base of the card is white card stock and then a layer of Concord Crush. I used a circle stencil
and some white craft ink to make the BG. I added a strip of DSP across the top and then mounted the main image piece to the base with foam tape. The circle is mounted to the square with foam tape as well.
I die cut the small banners with white card stock and tucked them in behind the square panel.
I finished off with a few sequins and a couple of small stars.

So let's see what the rest of the girls did with this sweet sketch:
