Joyful for the Paper Players

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge this week at the The Paper Players.
This week it is a sketch challenge, and you know I love a good sketch!

I am really loving this new stamp set from Stampin Up called Joyful Christmas.
It has this fabulous cardinal image, that can be colored or it also has a solid image that can be stamped inside the outline of the cardinal. I used the solid image this time and I have to say I really like it. I was not sure when I got the set that I would like the solid image part, cos I like to color and thought I would be doing that more. But after using it on this card I may have just changed my mind.
I did use my water brush to blend it just slightly but that would not even be necessary except I am crazed sometimes....lol!!!

The base of my card is Early Espresso and then the DSP I used is from the Merry Moments pack.

I used a piece of the Stampin Up corrugated paper to mat my main image. I really love this corrugated paper, it comes in Crumb cake and White, Really fun!!
I added a bit of linen thread and used a All is Calm Snowflake charm that is retired.
The sentiment is from the same set as the cardinal, don't you love the faded look of the sentiment and cardinal?

Thanks for stopping by today.

Sweet Sunday.... HI

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Time for a new sketch at the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and we have a fun little sketch for you this week. You gotta love a circle inside a square on top of a banner right?

I pulled out my Stampin Up Thankful Forest Friends set, I love this bear!

I stamped him with Early Espresso ink onto some white card stock and fussy cut it out.

The sentiment is from the Acorny Thank You set.
All my DSP on here is from the Into the Woods paper pack.

The base of the card is Crumb Cake and I added another layer of Crumb Cake that I embossed with the Decorative Dots EF.

I finished it up with a few gold sequins!

Crazy 4 Challenges.....Blue Birthday

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!

Time for a new challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges.

Our challenge this week is:

Show Me The Blue!
September's birthstone is sapphire so make blue the most prominent color on your card.

I decided to pull out one of my fave sets and make some "blue sapphire flowers".

I stamped the flower image twice on my panel, not getting the whole image on either side,

I stamped with Black Stazon ink onto some heavy weight card stock. I used my aqua painter and Pacific Point ink.
The leaves are colored using Old Olive ink/

The sentiment is from the Cottage Greetings stamp set.
The base of the card is Pacific Point and then a layer of Black and the DSP is from the Pretty Petals pack.
I added two more strips of Black and layered some Silver Foil paper over them.
I used three of our mini silver brads at the bottom under the main panel. I decided I would like to add a few more onto the main image piece but I had already added it to the base with my dimensionals, so I snipped off the shank and then just glued down the top rounded pieces. I love them so I am sure I will be doing that again!

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Freshly Made Sketches.....very merry Christmas

Happy Thursday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

This is a great sketch I loved creating with it!

I pulled out my Stampin Up Christmas Cuties stamp set for my card.
Love the adorable images in this set.
I decide to use my fave in the set the cute little elf. I stamped him onto some white card stock with Memento Black ink and colored with my Copic markers.

I used the traditional Christmas colors of red and green for my card today, but this guy would be so cute in so many different color schemes.

I pulled my colors from my DSP which is from the Merry Moments paper pack. The two designs I used on my card are just one sheet, opposite sides.

The base of my card is Crumb Cake card stock.
The little banner coming out from behind the main image is a piece of silver foil.
I created my sentiment banner using the Endless Christmas Wishes stamp set.
I added both gold and silver embellishments.
I used gold sequins and the little silver dots are the tops of the mini brads, I just snipped of the shank and glued them down.
I added a bit of silver cord across the top and tied a little bow.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Card Concept.......Thanks

Happy Wednesday Peeps!

Time for a new challenge at The Card Concept.

This week we have a fun inspiration photo for you!

I took the inspiration very literally and pulled out my Thankful Forest Friends stamp set.
I love the little animals in this set.
I stamped the bear with Early Espresso, the fox with Cajun Craze and the little bunny with Smoky Slate. I fussy cut them out and set aside.

The leaves and sentiment are colored with my markers and then stamped onto some Whisper White card stock. I kinda like the faded look you get with this process.

I added the animals across the center using dimensionals.
I rounded the corners on the bottom portion of the white card stock using the Envelope Punch Board.

I used some glimmer paper to make the banner under the main panel.
Next is some Cajun Craze card stock with rounded bottom corners as well.

The base of the card is Crumb Cake card stock and the DSP is from the Woodland pack.

Be sure and head over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the team did with this fun challenge.

Sweet Sunday........Trick or Treat

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

I am loving this sketch, many possibilities for that butterfly element,
I am still hving some fun with my new Halloween goodies.

I adore these fun spider web doilies from Stampin Up, the great thing about them are they are white on the back so they can be used for more than just Halloween!

I used the doily for my jumping off point on my card.
I started with some Basic Black card stock and then I used a layer of Naturals Vanilla
The DSP is from the Happy Hauntings paper pack.

I added the doily in the corner and trimmed it to fit.
I added the strip of Vanilla across the doily and stamped the sentiment, which is from the Tags For You stamp set. The spiders are part of the same stampp and I just masked off and used what I needed on here

My super cute and so not spooky owl, which I love, comes from the Howl-O-Ween Treat stamp set.
I stamped him with some Black Memento ink and used the matching framelits to cut him out,
I added him to the card with dimensionals.
The eyes on my owl are some glittery black rhinestones I got locally (non SU).
I added a few round the card s well. One is actually hiding  a small smear spot, but you would never know huh?

Crazy 4 challenges.....BOO!

Happy Saturday Peeps!

Time for a new challenge at Crazy 4 Cahllenges.

It is the third Saturday of the month which means it is a sketch challenge. here is the sketch this week:

Very cool huh?
I am still playing with my Stampin Up Halloween set called Haunt Ya Later.
This time I used the cute little Dracula.
He is adorable, I think and not frightening at all.
I stamped him with Memenot Black ink onto some Very Vanilla card stock and colored with my copic markers.
I fussy cut him out and set it aside to make the rest of the card.

The base of the card is Basic Black and then a layer of Very Vanilla and a piece of DSP from the Happy Hauntings DSP. Love this piece with the stars!
I added another strip of the DSP across the top, this piece is really cute too with it's jack o lantern faces.
The Boo and spider are die cut using the Boo to You framelits that co-ordinate with the Howl-O-ween Treat stamp set.

I die cut the Boo with the new Black Glimmer paper, love it!!
I added the spider which is a stamp in the Howl-O-ween Treat set using some of the silver thread and a couple of glue dots, tucking it in behind the Boo.

Be sure and head over to the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog to see what the rest of the girsl did with this fun sketch!

Freshly Made Sketches.....Happy, Happy Halloween

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

I always love their sketches and this one is no exception.

Ya'll know I love  Halloween  and that I love making Halloween cards, altho I have tried to cut back a bit on them cos they are not big sellers.

But I could not help myself with this one, I am crazy about this stamp set, it is the Stampin Up Haunt Ya Later set and the images are just too cute. I love this little witch,

I stamped her onto some Naturals Vanilla card stock with Black Memento ink and colored her with my copic markers,

I started out making my witch a blonde but quickly changed it up to a brunette when coloring cos I thought the blonde was not showing as well.
I fussy cut her out and then set her aside to make the rest of the card.

The base of my card is Basic Black card stock and then a layer of Old Olive that is embossed with the Chevron EF.
This piece I found in my stash when looking for my Old Olive piece so I just went with it.

The piece of DSP is from the Happy Hauntings paper pack, I love the bats on this piece.

The sentiment is stamped with more Black Memento ink and comes from the Sweet Hauntings set, I masked off the surrounding edges to just use the sentiment.

I added a strip of the new Black Glimmer paper across the bottom of the vanilla panel.
The little witch is added to the panel with dimensionals.
The panel is then added to the base with more dimensionals, I am telling you dimensionals are your best friend in card making!!!

I am happy with this card, I think that little witch with the frog is adorable!!

Freshly Made Sketches......A Christmas Wish

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches Blog.

I had the idea for this card when I saw the sketch but getting it to work out took a bit of time. It was not really hard but it did take me some time to figure it all out. I guess I was just trying to make it harder that it needed to be. Typical me!

I wanted to use te cardinal as the "any shape" in the sketch, but in the end I die cut a circle and popped up my cardinal.
I watercolored the cardinal and BG piece with my aqua painter and ink pads, using Pool Party for the sky and Real Red and Cherry Cobbler along with Crushed Curry for the cardinal.

The branch is stamped with Black Stazon ink onto the White BG piece and on the Crumb Cake piece,

I colored the branch with Early Espresso ink and Real Red ink.

My sentiment is stamped with Early Espresso ink at the bottom instead of where it is indicated on the sketch, I figured the branch represents that element of the sketch.
I finished it up with a bit of silver cord across the top and tied a little bow.

Are you ready to celebrate Grandparents Day?

This week's challenge is all about Grandparents Day!
You can call them Grandma, Grandpa, Grammy, Grampy, Nana or Poppop.
No matter what you call them, they're special.  So let's make a card for that someone special that is older than you.

on here is from the Happy Hauntings pack.

I used Soft Suede for the tops of my acorns. The punch makes it all so easy.

Creative Challenge with Wendy

Happy Friday Peeps!

A couple of weeks ago I received a card in the mail from my friend Wendy
As you all know we do a monthly challenge and that card had the contents of our new challenge.

She sent me the clear boxes and said to decorate for Halloween!

I was excited cos I LOVE Halloween!

I got busy this week on the challenge,
I had finally got some new goodies from the Stampin Up new mini. I was excited to use some of the Halloween items I had ordered.

On these three boxes you can see something from each of the three Halloween sets I got.

First up is my fave set, I LOVED it the instant I saw it.
It is called Haunt Ya Later and has some fun images to color.
I stamped this little guy and colored with my copic markers.
How cute is he???
The sentiment is from the same set.
I stamped it with Wild Wasabi ink to match Dracula's complexion

Next is the Howl-a ween Treat Set.

Isn't that owl so cute?
I stamped it with Black ink onto some Very Vanilla card stock, the Jack-O-Lantern is stamped with Tangelo Twist ink. These images are cut with the matching framelits.
All the DSP on these are from the Happy Haunting paper pack.

My last box contains and image, the cat, from the Haunt You Later set and the tag is from the Sweet Hauntings stamp set.
I added some black frayed out ribbon to the tag.

Hope you enjoyed this installment of our Creative Challenges and be sure to hop on over to

I stamped it three times using Daffodil Delight onto whisper white card stock and fussy cut it out.
I layered it up and added a pretty pearl in the center.

I made my Sunflower by first making a Rosette using my Score Board.
I then added  piece of sandable Early Espresso cardstock for my center.

The leaves are die cut with the Flower Flair framelits and then trimmed a bit. I then ran them through the Big Shot using my Woodgrain EF.

Crazy 4 Cahllenges......hello

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!!

Time for another new challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges

Here is the fun challenge we have for you this week:

Labor Day is here!
Time to say goodbye to Summer, be it one last BBQ, dive in the pool, a parade or picnic.  How will you celebrate?
 Show me on a card.

Not sure my card is exactly "how I will celebrate" since I will be working this Labor Day weekend, but it is an end of summer type card.

I think Sunflowers are the perfect end of Summer flower, this the time of the year that you see so many of them around here, even after the long hot days of July and August they keep blooming, the hotter the better seems to work for them, since September can and is mostly still very warm here.

So anyway I decide to make some Sunflowers for my card.

I pulled out the Stampin Up Beautiful Bunch stamp set and stamped tis flower image 4 times onto some thick white card stock. I then colored suing my aqua painter and ink pads. I used Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry inks.
I fussy cut out the flowers and layered them together

To make the centers of my "sunflowers" I used some retired Early Espresso cardstock, this is the one that was in the catalog awhile back that was sandable. I still had a bunch and thought it would be cute for the flower centers. I used my 1-3/8 inch circle punch and then ran the circle through my Big shot using the decorative dots EF

The leaves are from the Birthday Blossoms stamp set.
I stamped them onto white card stock and colored with Old Olive,

I used Crumb Cake for the base and stamped lightly with Crumb Cake ink using the
Hardwood BG.

I added another strip of the sandable Early Espresso cards tock that was embossed with the Woodgrain EF and sanded.
I then used a small piece of glimmer paper and the little hello sentiment to finish it up.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Friend

Happy Thursday peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made with a few challenges in mind.

First I used the sketch this week at the Freshly Made Sketches Blog

I did move the strip across the top to the bottom of my square element on the sketch.

I used the Color Challenge at the Color Throwdown Blog

and
finally I am linking to the SUO Challenge Blog
which this week the challenge is Cards for Friends!

No surprise to you all I used the Stampin' Up Best Thoughts stamp set.
I promise I will move on soon! :)

I stamped the flower and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads,
I used Crushed Curry and some Garden green for the flower
and then used Night of Navy for the blue shadowing around the flower.

The main image is matted with Daffodil Delight card stock.

The friend sentiment comes from the Endless Thanks stamp set.
I added a small strip of gold glimmer paper behind the sentiment panel and then used a bit of linen thread to tie a bow.

Thanks for stopping by today!
