Stamping 411.....Birthday Wishes

Hello Peeps!!

Time for another new sketch challenge on the Stamping 411 Blog

Here is our sketch for this week:

I pulled out the pretty Comfort Cafe DSP  from Stampin Up. It has a fall feel to it in my opinion. The colors are so pretty, I settled on this piece with some Cajun Craze and Soft Suede colors in it and went from there.
I made some rolled flowers and added a pearl to the centers.
The flowers and leaves are arranged on a "doily" die cut from the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits. I used very vanilla for that.

The base of the card is Cajun Craze and then a layer of Soft Suede that I embossed with the square lattice EF.
The sentiment is from the retired Occasional Quotes stamp set.

Be sure and head on over to the 411 Blog to see what the others have done with this sketch
Thanks for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Dynamic Duos.......Warmest Wishes

Happy Tuesday peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the color challenge on the Dynamic Duo Blog.

Love this color combo, I seldom use River Rock card stock, not sure why cos it is nice and looks so pretty here with Always Artichoke. My mind immediately went to this wonderful tree in the Stampin Up "Christmas Lodge" stamp set. I stamped it with Always artichoke onto Very Vanilla card stock.
I then cut it out with the Labels Die. I also die cut one in Always Artichoke and embossed with the Square Lattice EF.

I pulled out some retired Artichoke and River Rock DSP, not sure the names of the pack these came from cos most of my retired DSP is all lumped together in a couple a few folders. :/
The sentiment is from the "Blooming with Kindness" stamp set. I just masked of this portion with a post it note and inked it up with some black ink and stamped onto the Very Vanilla card stock. I hand cut the ends and curled it a bit and added it to the card with some dimesionals in the middle and glue on the ends.
I made a "scrunchy" bow with some Artichoke seam binding ribbon and added an antique brad to the center.
I finished it off with a bunch of basic pearls, on the tree and the corners of the card.
Thanks so much for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

It's a Merry Monday

Happy Monday Peeps!
It is time for another new Merry Monday Sketch Challenge!

Here is the fabulous sketch this week:

I love this new Stampin Up DSP called "Be of Good Cheer".
I used Cherry Cobbler for the base of the card and the next layer is on of the new in colors "Gumball Green" and then some of the fun DSP.
I made my little poinsettia with the Blossom Petals Punch. I punched out 16 of the small petal and alternated them around a small punched circle to build the flower. I used a dimensional between layers and then added three pearls to the center that I colored with a copic marker.
The sentiment on here comes from the new More Merry Messages stamp set, thanks to my friend Wendy for letting me use that. I added some gumball green ribbon under the sentiment and tied a bow above.

Be sure and hop on over to Lesley's blog to see what the others did with this sketch.

The Paper Players

Happy Sunday Peeps!!!

Today I am excited to share that Lesley from  The Paper Players asked me to fill in for a month while one of the Players was on vacation!! I was honored and happily agreed!
This week the challenge is a sketch from Lesley:

I pulled out another favorite new Stampin Up sets called "Stippled Blossoms". This set is gorgeous which makes it easy to make a pretty card, and you all know love flowers.
This time I used a couple of retired things along with some current. I stamped the flowers with wisteria and concord crush (retired) inks. The leaves are done with luck limeade and artichoke. I then used my trusty paper snips and cut them all out. I added them to the white embossed piece with some dimesionals. Just arranging til I got something I like.

The DSP on here is the other retired item on my card, it comes from the Sweet Shop paper pack.
The sentiment is from the "Curly Cute" stamp set.
I added some wisteria bakers twine and a few basic pearls to finish it off.

Be sure and visit The Paper Players Blog to see what the others did with this fun sketch.

Stamping 411 .....Here for you

Hello Peeps!!

Time for another new sketch challenge on the Stamping 411 Blog

Here is our sketch for this week:

This is actually the first card I made when I received my new Stampin Up "Pleasant Poppies" stamp!

I am totally loving this stamp, so pretty! I also used some of the new fun Polka Dot DSP.
The poppies were stamped with black stazon onto white card stock and colored. I then ran the image through my big shot using the Square Lattice EF. Love the look of this.

The sentiment on here comes from another new set called Blooming with Kindness. The sentiments and font in this set are so pretty.
I have an excess of the smallest pearls that comes in the assorted pearl pack and had been looking for a way to use some of them. I added them around the sentiment piece, I think it looks nice....whatcha think?
I added three pearls in the upper corner and some white taffeta ribbon to finish it off.

Be sure and head on over to the 411 Blog to see what the others have done with this sketch

Happy, Happy Birthday

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!

Just popping in her with a quick share of  card I put together, I was making this for a challenge, but I sorta strayed a bit so I am just sharing it here.

I have a few new favorites on her, this Stampin Up set called "Stipple Blossoms" is so pretty and I used a couple of the new in colors, Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals. I have to say that I LOVE the Raspberry.
I first stamped the flowers with Primrose and then the darker shadows are Raspberry. I did my leaves with Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi.

The base of the card is Raspberry Ripple card stock. I then used a piece of whisper white and embossed it with the perfect dot EF. The DSP on here is some I had left over from a Simply Sent kit and it matches the Raspberry very well.
I added some Raspberry Ribbon and some silver pearls.
The sentiment is fromm the retired Happiest Birthday Wishes, I just used my stamp a ma jig to stamp the "Happy" twice.

That is all from me thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!

Merry Monday Sketch Challenge

Merry Monday Peeps!
It is time for a new Merry Monday Sketch Challenge.

Here is the fab sketch Lesley has for us this week:

I pulled out my Poinsettia Nestabilties to make my Merry Monday card.
I got this as a gift last Christmas and I hadn't used them yet so it was about time huh?
I used Cherry Cobbler card stock along with some always artichoke for the leaves.
The fern-y like foliage around the outside of the poinsettia is made with a MS punch.

The sentiment comes from the Stampin Up "Many Merry Messages" stamp set, now retired. The DSP is also from a retired pack. I used confetti cream card stock for the base of the card.  I added an antique brad to the sentiment piece and a few small pearls to the center of the flower.

Be sure and hop on over to Lesley's Blog to see what the Merry Monday Makers did with this sketch!
Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC161.......To my friend

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

It is time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.
This is a special sketch challenge, this week is your chance to join the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team.

Karen is putting out a "Casting Call" to join the team.
 Here is all the deets:

Now onto this weeks sketch:

I am again using my new Stampin Up stamp called "Pleasant Poppies". I loved this set as soon as I laid my eyes on it and since getting it, I have not put it away.
Of course, we all think of red when we think of poppies and I did make a red card with red poppies on it, I will posting that one later this week, but I wasn't sure what other colors  poppies come in, I have seen orange and yellow but I was surprised when I did an internet search and saw so many colors, purple and blue was two I don't think I had seen. When I saw the pretty purple ones they reminded me of one of my favorite Stampin Up colors, rich razzleberry.
The Poppy stamp is a large background type stamp but it is easy to mask off portions of the stamp and use just part of the stamp. The last two cards I used one side of the stamp so for this one I used the other part, a bit smaller but it worked well for this sketch.

The DSP I used is from the Stampin Up "Summer Smooches" and "Floral District" paper packs.
The sentiment comes from the "Friendly Phrases" stamp set. I added some basic pearls and some little butterflies made with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit die.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

OK, let's see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team, and Guest Designer has in store for us this week:

and this week's Sweet Guest Designer: Dawn Easton.

Stamping 411.....Happy Birthday

Happy Friday Peeps!!!

It's time for another new sketch challenge on the Stamping 411 Blog.

Here is the fun sketch for this week:

I had a bit of a time with this sketch at first, I tend to over think things but once I stepped back and thought about it a bit I decided to pull out  this cute little Stampin Up set called "Betsy's Blossoms".
I stamped the bird with rich razzleberry ink twice and then cut it out and cut out the wing on the second one and added it to the bird with a dimensional.
The sentiment on here is from the "Curly Cute" stamp set.

The DSP on here is from the "Floral District" pack. The base of the card is rich razzleberry and then a layer of white and then the DSP. I added a banner under the bird with Daffodil Delight and the ribbon is Daffodil Delight seam binding. I finished it up with a few little flowers made with the Itty Bitty punch pack with rhinestone centers.

Be sure and head over the the Stamping 411 Blog to see what the other Designers have made using this sketch.
I hope you will play along with us and if you do please link it up over on the 411 blog so we can all see.

Regal Poppies

Happy Wednesday peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the color challenge this week on the Dynamic Duos Blog.
The colors this week are Regal Rose and Basic Gray.

I haven't used regal rose in such a long time.
I got some new stamps this week and I am in love with this one.
It is called "Pleasant Poppies" it is a large Back Ground stamp.
I used just a portion of it for this card. I masked off part of it with some post it notes and just inked up the portion I wanted.
I used black stazon to stamp onto some white card stock.
I then colored the image with my aqua painter and ink pads, using regal rose and a little bit of daffodil delight and pear pizzazz.

The base of the card is basic gray and then I used another piece of gray and embossed it with the square lattice EF. The ribbon on here is some retired regal rose grosgrain.
I added some scallops down the side made with the perfect trimmings die.
How about that cute sentiment tag? I made that with the new Bitty Banners Framelit die. The sentiment itself
comes from the Easy Events stamp set.

I am also adding this to the SUO Challenges to make something frilly.
I thing the bow and scallops with pearls are a bit frilly

Well, that is all from me today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!

The base of the card is Cherry cobbler card stock and then I followed that up with more Confetti card stock. The DSP on here is from the new "Be of Good Cheer" paper pack.

Stamping 411....Happy Birthday

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Time for another Stamping 411 challenge
I have told you all before how freaked out I get by sketches like this one, you know the kind with small repeating elements. I find them a bit challenging to say the least.
I did know immediately that I wanted to use this Stampin Up set called "Bright Blossoms". I got it back when it was first made available to us and it has sit virtually unused since then. The images are quite small, so perfect for this type of sketch.
I am kinda hooked on rich razzlebbery, it is such a great color.

Here is the sketch we are using this week:

I stamped the small images with razzleberry and gumball green ink. I used my 1" circle and 1-1/4" circle punches for the flowers and mat pieces.
The sentiment on here comes from the retired "Happiest Birthday Wishes" stamp set.

The DSP on here is from the Summer Smooches paper pack. I used some new daffodil delight ribbon and a few little rhinestones for my embellishments.

The inside:

Now be sure and head over the the Stamping 411 Blog to see what the other Designers have made using this sketch.
I hope you will play along with us and if you do please link it up over on the 411 blog so we can all see.

Paper Players-Summer Challenge

Happy Thursday peeps!!

Today I am sharing a couple of cards made using the challenge this week on the Paper Players Blog.
The challenge is to create a project showcasing something that represents Summertime to you.
Well, these flowers from the Stampin Up "Inspired by Nature" stamp set, now retired, certainly does that for me! I created two cards using this set making one in yellow and one in purple.

I also used the Stampin Up "French Foliage" stamp set to "age" my images. Using the script and water splotches stamps. I then sponged the edges heavily with some early espresso ink.
I kept the rest of the details on the cards pretty simple, just a scruncy bow with an antique brad, a couple more brads at the top and a tiny sentiment.

The base of both cards are Early Espresso card stock and then the yellow flowers image is matted with daffodil delight card stock and the purple flower image is matted with some retired card stock, pale plum.

I used some crumb cake seam binding ribbon to make the scrunchy bows. I just wadded a bunch up in my hand and then wet it and kept it all scrunched up while drying it carefully with my heat tool. then i just looped it back and forth to make a loopy bow and added my antique brad to the center.
I added the main image panels to the base of the card at a slight angle. I do love me a tilted panel from time to time!!!

Well, that is all from me, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Very Merry

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!

When I was making my card sample last week for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, I whipped up this little cutie using the sketch. I have been making a few Christmas card lately and I knew that the long panel on the sketch would be perfect for this tall fellow from the Stampin Up "Snow Much Fun"!
Isn't he the cutest snowman?
I also used some of the new Stampin Up DSP, this is from the "Be of Good Cheer"!
I love this fun new paper!
The base of my square card is Cherry Cobbler card stock, I followed that with some Confetti Cream card stock and then of course the DSP.
I stamped the tall snowman onto some more Confetti Cream card stock and colored him with my aqua painter and ink pads.
The sentiment on here is from the retired "Short & Sweet" stamp set.
You see that green flag piece sticking out? It is one of the new in colors called "Gumball Green". I embossed that with the square lattice EF, of course!
The snow flakes at the bottom are from the retired Northern Flurries die strip.
The little snowflakes at the top right are from a tiny non SU punch.
I added a few rhinestones to the center of the snowflakes.
I hope you like it, I think it turned out super cute.

I am waiting patiently for my new goodies to arrive. A few more days!
I have to confess and please don't shoot me, I was less that impressed wtih the new catalog, don't get me wrong, there is still so much I want, but there was not alot of my style stamps in the catalog, so I am hanging my hopes on some things I will just LOVE in the Holiday mini. Haven't received that yet, we demos can preorder from it in July so I am looking forward.
Well, that it all from me today, I am heading to my stamp table to work on some cards I need to get done.
I hope you have some stamping time today!
Thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

The Sky's the Limit Note Pad

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a fun little notepad I made a few weeks back.
I saw the idea for this little kite HERE! It is so cute I had to make one!
I was making a few of these little note pads, tutorial by Nancy Riley found HERE, for a couple of  friends that had ordered some for gifts and so I had to try the little kite on one.
I had to keep it for myself cos I loved it so much.....lol!!
Any of you that visit me regularly know that I enjoy making these notepads and I think the kite is a fun addition!

The kite is really simple to make, the top portion is just a 1-1/4" square cut in half at an angle and the bottom portions are 1-1/4" x 2". I used a small scrap of card stock to build the kite on, matching the points together to form the kite. I used the Stampin Up Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch around the edges, this just makes the kite pop! Click on the link above, she has a little picture tutorial.
I used some bakers twine to make my kite's tail and hand cut the little tail pieces.
The sentiment on here is from the Stampin Up set called "Up in the Air"

If you have any questions or would like me to make you some of these just shoot me an e-mail!
Thanks for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Merry Monday

Happy Monday Peeps, or should I say "Merry Monday".
A few weeks back I got an e-mail from Lesley from Always Playing with Paper, asking if I would like to be the Featured Designer for the month of June on her "Merry Monday Challenges". I was thrilled to join along with her and her fabulous designers!

The idea behind the Merry Monday Challenges are to get a head start on your Christmas cards, so why not pull out you Christmas card making supplies, turn the AC down really low and put on some Christmas songs and join us?

Here is the sketch for this week:

I pulled out my favorite Christmas set from last year, Stampin' Up's  "Beautiful Season"
I love that chickadee on the holly branch, so pretty, I LOVE to watercolor this image!
I used some confetti cream card stock for my main image panel and colored using my aqua painter and ink pads.

I added some very vanilla seam binding ribbon and an antique brad on the bow. The sentiment is from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set.
Be sure and head on over to Lesley's blog to see what the others made using this sketch.
Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!
