Merry Monday a bit late....Christmas Cheer

Hello Peeps!!

So sorry to be late with my Merry Monday card.

Here is the fun sketch LESLEY has for us this week:

Not much stamping on this card, but I still think it is fun!
The cute owl image comes from  the Stampin Up Snow Festival DSP pack.
Isn't he cute?

I added a bunch of Bling to my card to fancy it up a bit!
The sentiment is from the Sweet Essentials stamp set.
The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler card stock and then I matted with whisper white card stock.

Bes ure and head over to Lesley's Blog to see what the rest of the Merry Makers did with this sketch.

Merry Monday...Peace on Earth

Merry Monday Peeps!!!

Today Lesley has a very fun and simple sketch for us:

Well, even if I say simple, I did have a bit of trouble with this one, I wasn't sure what to do with it. I had just gotten me a few new Memory Box dies and this "Twiggy Tree" was perfect.
I die cut the tree three times with night of navy card stock and layered them together. The little red birds are a PTI die.

The base of the card is Night of Navy card stock and then the next layer is whisper white card stock.
The sentiment is from the Stampin Up Greetings of the Season stamp set.
Very simple and easily mailed. Not much bulk with this one!

Merry Monday.....Beary Christmas

Happy Monday Peeps!!

We are back from our one week break with a new Merry Monday Challenge.

Here is the great sketch Lesley has for us this week:

Today I am using a great little digi stamp from Heather Ellis.
I printed the digi out on some white card stock and colored with my copic markers.
I die cut the main piece out with my oval framelits and then used the same framelit to draw and cut out the mat with some Cherry Cobbler card stock.

The sentiment is computer generated and printed out onto some white card stock. I cut and matted it with more cherry cobbler. I added an antique brad to the sentiment banner and some silver pearls to the top corners.
The base of the card is Gumball Green card stock, then a layer of white and the DSP is from the Festival of Print paper pack.
Here is a little close-up of the main image:
I added some stardust stickles under the image and to the pop pom on the bears hat. I used my white get pen to add a few details to the image.

Merry Monday....Christmas Bells

Merry Monday Peeps!!!
Today Lesley at Always Playing with Paper has a fun new sketch for us:

I flipped the sketch, well actually it is a mirror image of the sketch.
I moved the flag panel piece to the opposite side to accommodate my sentiment piece.
My image of the pretty bells  comes from the Stampin Up "Bells and Bough" stamp set and I was very much inspired by THIS BEAUTY created by the super talented Amy White.
I loved how she colored and layered the image and wanted to try it myself.

Here is a closeup pic of the layers:

The DSP on here is from the Festival of Prints pack and the pretty plaid is from the Storytime pack.
The sentiment is from the "Open Sleigh" stamp set.
I added some crystal effects to the berries and covered the rest of the image with a bit of shimmer paint:

The base of the card is Riding Hood Red, one of the colors that is retiring. I then added a lyer of white and then the DSP.
I think this may be my favorite Christmas card, I have made so far this year!

Now be sure and hop on over to Lesley's Blog to see what the rest of the Merry makers
did with this great sketch.

Merry Monday....Warm Wishes

Merry Monday Peeps!!!

Today Lesley at Always Playing with Paper has a fun new sketch for us:

As you can see I flipped the sideways.
I did struggle a bit with this one, but once I got into it and decided on my image and paper, it came together fairly quickly, well quickly for me anyway, I sometimes spend two, three or more hours on one card.
I did add an extra flag for my sentiment, but I think it looks alright.

The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler card stock and all the DSP on here is  from the Festival of Prints pack.
I stamped and die cut two mugs from the Scentsational Season stamp set and Holiday collection framelit dies make cutting the mugs out super easy! I made the "steam" using some vellum card stock.
Cute huh?

Now be sure and hop on over to Lesley's Blog to see what the rest of the Merry makers did with this great sketch
Thanks for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Merry Monday......Warm Winter Wishes

Happy Monday Peeps!!

It is our very first Merry Monday Challenge of the New Year!
This week it is a fun color challenge:

I was a little late getting my card loaded up on the design time blog cos I ran in to a bit of a hiccup when making my card.
This actually is not the first card I made with these colors, I had made another one, and when I went to upload it I saw that it was a bit similar to one another girl had made so I thought I should make something different, hence me being a bit behind.
It is all good tho, I like this one too. I pulled out the fun Stampin Up set Wonderful Winterland.
This little skater is so cute, but these images are very small. I tried to color with my aqua painter but could not, I switched to my copics and was able to get a close color match.

The sentiment is from the Stampin Up Winter Memories stamp set.
I added some snowflakes that I die cut from the Northern Flurries Sizzlit strip.
I used pool party and island indigo for the snowflakes and added rhinestones to the center of each.
Be sure and pop over to Lesley's Blog to see what the rest of the design team did with this pretty color combo.

Merry Monday....Merry Christmas

Happy Monday peeps!!!

I am thrilled to announce that Lesley from Always Playing with Paper has asked me to join the Merry Monday design team for 2013.

If you not familiar with this challenge, the idea is to make a Christmas card each week,so you will have them all done come Christmas. It will definitely be a challenge for me to make Christmas type cards in the summer, I a such a seasonal stamper,  but I am up for it!

So onto this challenge:

Although our weekly challenges are finished for 2012, we have decided to have a 2 week "Any Past Sketch" Challenge here at Merry Monday! You are welcome to use any of the past Merry Monday Sketches.

I am using sketch number #25
I love a tent topper card and i had not made one it ages so this was a good opportunity.
i went with a non-traditional color pallet for my
Christmas card, i used a fave retired Stampin Up color, Concord Crush along with some Wisteria Wonder and Silver Glimmer paper.
I used the Snow Flurries die for my big ol' layered snowflake.

I used the Petite Pairs stamp set for the little "Merry Christmas" and added a large pearl to the center.
The DSP is from a retired pack, whose name eludes me at this moment, and I used some satin whisper white ribbon across the bottom.
Be sure and head over to Lesley's Blog to see what the rest of the Merry Makers did with this challenge.

Merry Monday......Peace

Happy Tuesday, Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the Merry Monday  sketch this week.

When I saw the sketch I knew right away what I wanted to do, I pulled out another Papertrey purchase, the Wonderful Words Holiday Die and some of my favorite, at the moment, Stampin Up silver glimmer paper.
I pulled off a bit of the backing of the paper to be able to die cut the "Peace"
I love the look of this glimmer paper with Night of Navy card stock, they are so made to go together.

The base of my card is Night of navy and I followed that with some white card stock that I embossed with the  petals a plenty EF (I think that is the name).

The flags are made with the glimmer paper and night of navy and are mounted directly to the embossed white.
The center panel is white and navy and I embossed that piece with a music EF.
I then glued the "Peace" onto the panel and die cut a couple of snowflakes from the retired Northern Flurries die strip. I added them to the corner of the panel and put a silver pearl in the center.
This whole panel was mounted to the base with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by today.

SU Only, Merry Monday Christmas Cheer

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a fun Holiday card made with a couple of challenges in mind, first up I used the Merry Monday Sketch Challenge

and then the SU-Only Challenge this week is a Clean and Simple Holiday card Challenge.

When I saw the sketch it made my mind start to mentally file through all my SU sets to come up with a small element for those little circles. I wanted do something a bit different, and I remembered the Stampin Up set called Happy Hour would be great and even better it has a cute little Christmas saying to go along with it.

This card is super simple to put together, I did at first use the chevron or zig zag EF for my background, but when I came to the sentiment, it just wouldn't work. So I reverted to an old favorite the perfect dot EF. I stamped the part of the sentiment I wanted to use and then embossed.
The DSP on here is from the wonderful Festival of Prints pack.
The only fussy apart about this card is cutting out the holly leaves, but they don't really take that much time.
I debated about adding the ribbon.......you all know it is hard for me to make a card without any....LOL!!
I ended up adding some Cherry Cobbler seam binding but it is just as cute without and leaving it off makes it easier to mail too. What do you think with our without?
I colored the little "holly berries" with a marker.

Can you believe how quickly the years has gone, next week is Thanksgiving and then Christmas will be here before we have enough time.
Next week hubby sees another doctor for some more surgery that needs to be done ASAP, we will know more after his appointment on the 20th, but his heart doc say it needs to be done soon, please keep a good thought for us and say a prayer if you a so inclined.

Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Monday......Season's Greetings

I woke up yesterday with Christmas on the brain and I wanted to make a card with one of my favorite sets.
This is Stampin Up's Beautiful Season,  and besides Greeting Card Kids this would be an all time favorite of mine.
Don't you love that pretty image with the holly, berries and chickadee?
I made this card using this week's Merry Monday Challenge.

I started my card with a base of Crumb Cake card stock and then followed that with some Cherry Cobbler card stock and the DSP on here is from the Festival of Prints pack. I love the colors in this pack, I hope SU makes more of this size packs in the future!!

The sentiment on here is from the retired Four Holidays set.
I had fun making this one and I also started a new project a 3-D Christmas ornament made with my favorite non SU Holiday paper, I will be showing you that sometime next month and keep an eye out for a couple of exciting announcements coming up!!

HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Merry Monday.......very merry

Happy Merry Monday peeps!!
Lesley asked me to stay on for another week on the Merry Monday challenges.
This month is a bit different as Lesley is taking a bit of a blogging break she asked us to choose our favorite past Merry Monday sketch and create a new card using it.
I picked sketch #8:

I couldn't let my time on with the Merry Monday sketches go by and NOT use my favorite stamp set of all time, The Stampin Up "Greeting Card Kids" set.
You all know how much I love this set and in particular this stamp from the set.
I stamped the sweet little Christmas girl, onto some white card stock with black stazon ink. I colored her using my aqua painter and ink pads. I die cut this out using the label Framelits die.

The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler card stock and I used a card from a Simply Sent kit, Everyday Elegance, I think,  for the DSP and pretty die cut edge. I actually cut up the card and added the DSP and die cut edge to my base, I then added some white card stock to the bottom and stamped my sentiment.

I then cut another piece from the card front of the Simply Sent card, the piece with the embossed dots and the stripes of cherry cobbler and white and added it just above the sentiment panel piece.......LOL does all that make sense? :)

I added the main image piece to the base with dimensionals and then added a few silver pearls to the top scallops.
I love how this card turned out, clean and simple but sweet and not to many layers or embellishments that would make it bulky for mailing.

Be sure and hop on over to Lesley's blog to see what the others did with this sketch.
Thanks so much for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!

It's a Merry Monday

Happy Monday Peeps!
It is time for another new Merry Monday Sketch Challenge!

Here is the fabulous sketch this week:

I love this new Stampin Up DSP called "Be of Good Cheer".
I used Cherry Cobbler for the base of the card and the next layer is on of the new in colors "Gumball Green" and then some of the fun DSP.
I made my little poinsettia with the Blossom Petals Punch. I punched out 16 of the small petal and alternated them around a small punched circle to build the flower. I used a dimensional between layers and then added three pearls to the center that I colored with a copic marker.
The sentiment on here comes from the new More Merry Messages stamp set, thanks to my friend Wendy for letting me use that. I added some gumball green ribbon under the sentiment and tied a bow above.

Be sure and hop on over to Lesley's blog to see what the others did with this sketch.

Merry Monday Sketch Challenge

Merry Monday Peeps!
It is time for a new Merry Monday Sketch Challenge.

Here is the fab sketch Lesley has for us this week:

I pulled out my Poinsettia Nestabilties to make my Merry Monday card.
I got this as a gift last Christmas and I hadn't used them yet so it was about time huh?
I used Cherry Cobbler card stock along with some always artichoke for the leaves.
The fern-y like foliage around the outside of the poinsettia is made with a MS punch.

The sentiment comes from the Stampin Up "Many Merry Messages" stamp set, now retired. The DSP is also from a retired pack. I used confetti cream card stock for the base of the card.  I added an antique brad to the sentiment piece and a few small pearls to the center of the flower.

Be sure and hop on over to Lesley's Blog to see what the Merry Monday Makers did with this sketch!

I pulled out a fun Holiday set from Stampin Up called  "Snow Much Fun".
I stamped one of the snowmen from this set onto some confetti cream card stock with black stazon and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads.

The base of the card is Cherry cobbler card stock and then I followed that up with more Confetti card stock. The DSP on here is from the new "Be of Good Cheer" paper pack.

I used one of the new in colors Gumball Green, dontcha love that gumball green ribbon?

Merry Monday

Happy Monday Peeps, or should I say "Merry Monday".
A few weeks back I got an e-mail from Lesley from Always Playing with Paper, asking if I would like to be the Featured Designer for the month of June on her "Merry Monday Challenges". I was thrilled to join along with her and her fabulous designers!

The idea behind the Merry Monday Challenges are to get a head start on your Christmas cards, so why not pull out you Christmas card making supplies, turn the AC down really low and put on some Christmas songs and join us?

Here is the sketch for this week:

I pulled out my favorite Christmas set from last year, Stampin' Up's  "Beautiful Season"
I love that chickadee on the holly branch, so pretty, I LOVE to watercolor this image!
I used some confetti cream card stock for my main image panel and colored using my aqua painter and ink pads.

I added some very vanilla seam binding ribbon and an antique brad on the bow. The sentiment is from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set.
Be sure and head on over to Lesley's blog to see what the others made using this sketch.
Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!
