With Sympathy

Happy Thursday Peeps!!

So sorry for the long pause on my ol' blog a roo here.
After a looooong 7 days in a row of work and of course getting lots of baby time in between working, I just haven't had much time to stamp.

I am sharing a card I made last week at the same time I did my faux mother of pearl card.

This is a fun little watercolor technique I saw demoed on U tube a while back.
I think they called it water color splat, or something like that....lol,.
Anyway the technique is pretty simple, just lay down some ink onto your silicone mat and spritz it with some water and then splat your paper into the water downed ink.

Love the look you can achieve with this technique.

After my splatter pieced dried I stamped a flower image from the Wild About Flowers stamp set with black Memento ink.

I added a sentiment across the bottom from the Rose Wonder set.
I finished up with just a small rhinestone in the flower centers.

Very CAS, but very effective.

I have a busy day ahead so better get to it, thanks for stopping by!

Freshly Made Sketches......Hello

Happy Wednesday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at \

OK, I know it is a bit of a stretch, but in my defense one of the design team girls used a square instead of an oval and more importantly I had just gotten a couple of new goodies and I wanted to use them.

I ordered these stitched rectangles along with the hello die online and they were begging me to use them!

The card base is Papertrey white card stock as is the stitched layer.

The flowers are of course my fave Stampin Up Swirly Bird.

I used Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pink Pirouette card stock for my flowers. Aren't they just the sweetest?!!

The leaves are made using Pear Pizzazz and the Rose Wonder Framelits.

I die cut the "hello" twice using some Basic Black and glued them together and then glued the stack to my card.

The stitched layer is added to the base using dimensionals.

I love how this card came out, so clean and simple, but very pretty!

Thanks for coming by today!

Just Add Ink.....Happy Birthday Rose

Happy Sunday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at Just Add Ink.

I love a good sketch challenge and this is a cool one.

I dove right in and pulled out some Crumb Cake to use for my base.
The next layer is also Crumb Cake that I stamped the a wood grain background onto.

The DSP I used is from the now retired Watercolor Wonder pack.

I cute a few Roses using the rose Wonder die cuts and stacked them up and glued together.
I then laid one layer of the negative pieces back into the rose stack and then taped them down from the back. This piece is added to the white piece with dimensionals.
I de cut a few leaves from the same die using gold foil and Old Olive paper..

The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder set as well and is stamped with Black ink onto the Wood grain piece.
I added a strip of gold foil .paper too the top if the white piece

I colored in all the negative pieces of the rose using my Wink of Stella pen. I seriously love that pen and use it all the time, it sadly does not show in my pics tho.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Paper Players.......Happy Birthday

Happy Monday  Peeps!!

Today I sharing a card I made using the challenge this week at The Paper Players.

This week it is  a Tic Tac Toe Challenge:

I went with the top line: Yellow, Twine and Birthday.

I, of course, have a few other colors going on besides the yellow. I do have to say I used the Botanical Builder framelits again for this car and I am totally obsessed with them. You all know how I love making flower cards and with these framelits you can easily make gorgeous cards without much stamping.

I die cut my flowers using white card stock and then sponged on Daffodil Delight. I really like the look with the white around the edges.

I also used the Rose Garden thinlits for leaves. I used Gold Foil and Pear Pizzazz card stock for them.
The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder set.
I added some white twine across the bottom and tied a bow.
I added a few white enamel dots on the flowers and scattered around the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

SIP........Happy Birthday

Hello Peeps!!!

The challenge this week at Stamps, Ink, Paper is a flower challenge:

How could I resist?

I had this flower from the Rose Wonder set colored up earlier this week but had not made it into a card. I pulled it out to use for this challenge, I used the new in color Peekaboo Peach along wth some Cajun Craze and Whisper White Craft ink to color my flower. I love the chalk effect that the craft ink brings to the look when appled with my aqua painter.  I also worked in a bit of Daffodil Delight.

I fussy cut out the flower and then die cut a couple of leaves with the matching dies to use.

My base s Sahara Sand and then a layer of White and another layer of Sahara.

I used a bit of DSP from the Go Wild pad and a pretty doily to showcase my rose.

The sentiment is from the Cottage Greetings stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by.

Card Concept.......Happy Birthday

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the inspiration/color challenge this week at The Card Concept

Beautiful, Bright and Fresh!

I had been itching  to color this beautiful rose from the Stampin Up Rose Wonder set and this was the perfect challenge to do so.

I stamped the image onto some white card stock with black stazon and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads. I used a combo of colors for my flower, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Real Red and some Whisper White ink. The leaves are Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi. I colored around the flower Soft Sky.

The sentiment piece is stamped and then die cut with the matching dies to the stamp set. I love the sentiments and fonts in this set.

I kept the card fairly simple, I layered the flower image onto some Calypso Coral card stock and then onto the base with dimensionals.
I wrapped a bit of twine around the top of the card before mounting to the base and then added the sentiment with more dimensionals.
I finished if up with a couple of gold pearls.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Wedding Wishes for the Card Concept

Hello Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made for the challenge this week at The Card Concept Blog.

Here is the inspiration piece:

I love the little hats in this photo, toooo cute huh?

I decided to make a wedding themed card using the Stampin Up Rose Wonder stamp set and framelits.

I am crazy about this rose framelit, it is awesome!
I cut two using some Very Vanilla card stock and layered and glued them together.
I then glued the stack to a piece of Basic Black cardstock that is matted with Very Vanilla and then some more Basic Black.

The base of the card is Very Vanilla and then Basic Black. The DSP is from the Timeless Elegance paper pack.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set as is the sentiment panel and another framelit cuts it out. I added just a bit of basic black stitched ribbon behind the sentiment.

Hope you like it!

Vicki!
