Snowman Gift Tags and Box

Good Monday morning Peeps! It is the season for freezing here!!! BRRRRRRRRR......cold, cold and even some snow!

Today I have a fun little project for ya! I borrowed this snowman stamp from a friend Saturday night, I just love him!!! I say borrowed but I think she had no choice but to let me borrow it because I told her to keep an eye on it because I might just sneek it into my bag.

I started by stamping the snowman image on watercolor paper but because it is so small I ended up just coloring him with my markers, just the hat and the scarf, so regular cardstock would be fine. I cut im out with my circle nesties and layered him with some bashful blue and night of navy that was also cut with the nesties, one scallop and one petite scallop. The tag opens to allow for a personal greeting on the inside. I layered in a white circle on the inside.

The box was made with

this template. I adjusted the size to 3x3 to accommodate the tags. It holds 6 nicely.

I tied some bashful blue grosgrain ribbon around the top and made a bow. For the box I sorta reversed the colors and used the navy behind the snowman and used the bashful blue on the box, a small square that I ran through the cuttlebug with the swiss dot embossing folder.

That's all for today, Hope you have a great Monday, and Happy Stamping!

Fall Friend

A quick post for you all today! This is a card I made last month for my AAA swap on splitcoast. We were to make a card for the recipient in their favorite fall colors, they chose two, and we could add a neutral. My little acorn's favorite fall colors are old olive and orange, I used pumpkin pie.

I used the retired SU spectrum pad called pumpkin patch. I stamped the leaves with the spectrum pad randomly and then over stamped them again with the weathered BG stamp in chocolate chip. I also used the spectrum pad to stamp the sentiment panel, I love this stamp from the SU All Holidays set, it is the main reason I bought that set.

I am going to a friends house tonight for some stamping fun and laughs!!! Can't wait!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

CASED Cards

Good Afternoon Peeps!! So sorry for the late post. I had a very busy morning at work!

Today's cards are both CASED Cards. The first one here is a case of one in the SU Catalog, on page 143, I think, don't have my book here with me so I can't check that to be sure.

I changed a couple of things, I used stamps where they used rub-ons for the flowers. I used the small flower stamp from the SU Eastern Bloom set. Stamped with versamark on old olive, riding hood red and so saffron paper and embossed with white embossing powder. I then cut them out and mounted them on the white PTI cardstock with a pop dot. Then I used my trusty stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the words from the SU set Absolutely Fabulous. I also used a different DS paper and added a layer of chocolate chip behind the DS paper and the main image panel. It is all mounted on a piece of old olive card stock. A sweet little thank you card!

This next card is a direct CASE of
this beauty by Sharon Johnson aka notimetostamp on splitcoast. A great masculine birthday card. I love the star punches and don't use them nearly enough. The DS paper is from the Urban Garden pack, I love the colors in that pack and have used them alot, I need to order a new pack before it retires.

Well, that is it for today.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Happy Stamping!

Merry & Bright

Good Wednesday morning Peeps! I really love today's card, I don't generally say that, and lately I have not been "feeling" any card I make, but this one turned out awesome!

I used paper I just got from PTI and it is amazing! I love the metallic blue. You can't really see the shimmer of the paper in the picture, but it is beautiful.

The ornament is made with the reverse masking technique. I cut a circle with my coluzzle is a scrap piece of paper, discarded the circle and used the negative piece. I used some temporary glue to attach the mask to my PTI white card stock. Sponged lightly with night of navy inside the circle and then again putting a heavier concentration of ink closer to the edges. Then I inked up the stamp from SU's Season of Joy, again with night of navy, and stamped it inside the circle, with the mask still attached. Removed the mask and decorated the ornament with silver cord, a small peice of the metallic blue cardstock for the top and then some blue grosgrain ribbon. Lots of layers and a cuttlebugged snowflake BG and the sentiment is from the SU set To you and Yours.

This is how the card looks in my mind:

Don't you love it?

Well, that's it for today! Thanks so much for stopping by, I won't have a post for you tomorrow, but I'll try and have something new on Friday!

Happy Thanksgiving friends!

Grateful

Good Tuesday morning peeps.

Today's card was made for the color challenge on splitcoast. The colors we were to use are going gray, very vanilla, and really rust. Such a pretty combo. The gray looks almost like silver and makes a very pretty fall card. I used the SU set Thoroughly Thankful. I stamped my main image. which is a collage type stamp, with black stazon on watercolor paper. I then used my aquapainter to color in the images. I then cut them apart and mounted them on a strip of really rust. The sentiment is from the so many words set, that I cut apart and mounted on junga type blocks last year. The base of the card is the going gray then a layer of very vanilla followed by a layer of really rust. I used the leaf and dot stamp from the same set to fill in the BG on the really rust piece. I stamped it with versamark. I also paper pieced the bottom and added some ribbon with a mini silver spiral clip and some silver sticky rhinestones.

That's it for today, I have to start some holiday baking tonight. What are you making? Tonight I am making a pumpkin roll and grinding my cranberries and covering them with some sugar to start my cranberry salad. Hope ya'll have a great day and Happy Stamping!

Punchy Penguin

Good Monday Morning Peeps!

Today I have another punchy item to show you. This time it is a penguin gift card holder and tag.

The gift card holder was made for the technique lover's challenge on
splitcoast. It is a pop up gift card holder and super simple to make! the penguin is made from punches, the one I saw used the wide oval SU punch, which I don't have yet, so I used my coluzzle, the third oval from the center, and it worked great. The rest is the other oval punches, the word window punch, and various circle punches and the three flower punch is used for the feet. I think he is adorable and I have a niece who is crazy about penguins so I will put her Christmas gift card in this one. She will love it!

Here is a view of it opened:

And another gift tag I made with him:

So do you love the punchy penguin? I know I do and he was easy peasy!

thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Punch Santa Tags

Good Saturday morning Peeps!! How is your weekend going?

Yesterday while I was blog surfing I came across these really cute Santa tags made with the SU scallop die, which I don't have, but I wanted to make some anyway and I thought I could use my Marvy scallop punch. Well, guess what? It worked great, must be close to the same size as the SU die.
I started by punching a scallop circle of blush blossom, real red and whisper white. the whisper white piece is folded in half, to create the tag that opens, the red circle is cut straight across at the ninth scallop , and the blush blossom circle is left whole to mount everything on. The eyes are 1/4" punch, the nose is the 1/2" punch the mustache is the 1" circle punch cut in half and the pink tongue is another 1/4" circle. The "fur" is made with the three for you flower punch. The pom-pom is a 3/4" circle punch in white. Aren't they adorable?

And a side view so you can see how the beard opens to write a message or to use as a name tag on a gift.

They make up very quick, I made these 6 in less than 30 minutes and that included searching for all the right punches and cardstock and tying on the silver cord. Now go make you a bunch!!

Have a great weekend and Happy Stamping!!
