A Sneak Peek

Good Saturday morning peeps!!

This is a sneak peek of an item I have been working on all month. It is on it's way to my little acorn on splitcoast. I am in a group of challenge chaser on splitcoast and we are do an AAA swap, and one of the things we were to do was an altered item. I purchased a plain paper mache house at Hobby Lobby. I covered it with some "yummy" DS paper from basic grey, I used yellow vellum to cover the window and door openings, decorated with a wreath and some plastic string lights. I also used the MS drippy goo punch to look like melting snow or icicles. I think you could decorate it alot more with items to look like a gingerbread house or with some trees and snowmen, but everything else I tried just distracted for the house and I like the simple look of it.

I really love how this came out and have made another for myself. I used a flame less candle to put inside and it is very cool with the lights off, It flickers and glows like a real candle with out the flame. I really hope my "little acorn" likes it! I can hardly wait for her to get it! I can't say who she is yet, but even by the slim chance she looks at my blog, she won't know it is coming to her until she gets the package.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and have a super weekend!!

Pumpkin Snowman

Hello peeps and Happy Halloween!!! Hope you all have a "Spook-tacular" Day!!!

Today's card was made for the limited supply challenge on Splitcoast. We were to use our stamps in "disguise". In other words not as they were originally intended. I used the pumpkins from the SU set Autumn Harvest. I masked the centers and top of with sticky post it notes and stamped the big pumpkin first and then the smaller one on top if the big one to form the snowman head. I used watercolor paper and shaded the pumpkin snowman in with my aqua painter and some close to cocoa ink. I had made the scarf and hat and stick arms. I used the trees from Su's Loads of Love and tore the paper to look like snow drifts. I originally started making a larger card, but when I went to use my ticket corner punch on the image panel, I had mistakenly picked up the tag corner punch and so once the corner was punched, I switched up the whole card to look like a big tag. I used a jumbo brad at the top and some real red striped ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Stamping!!!

Warm Wishes

Good Thursday morning peeps!! Hope you are having a good day so far, it is beautiful here today, sun shining and warm. Just an awesome fall day! Love it!!!

My card today is a case of this beauty by WAXYO, I hesitate to say CASE because mine does not come close to her beauty, she has amazing talent, if you haven't already you should check out her gallery it is chocked full of beautiful cards, I wish to be her when I grow up!!! LOL!!!

On to my card, I started with a base card of chocolate chip and layered that with a piece of riding hood red, that I had stamped with snowflakes from the SU set Snowfall in the same color ink as card stock. I then paper pierced the edges with my piercing tool and mat pack, then made faux stitch lines with my chocolate chip marker. The trees on the center piece are from the SU set Christmas Classics and are stamped on chocolate chip, always artichoke and kiwi kiss and cut out and layered up with dimensional. I also sponged the edges with matching ink on the artichoke and with chocolate chip on the kiwi pieces. The "snow drifts" are just white card stock torn and layered. I used the stamp-a ma-jig to place my sentiment which is from the SU set Hugs & Wishes. Tied a ribbon around the top with ribbon from the Winter mini called Alpine, I believe. I really love the look of this card and might consider it for my holiday cards this year but it is a little labor intensive with all the cutting of the trees and my 51 year old eyes are not what they use to be, that's for sure!!!

Another picture of it just because!!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!!

Blingy Classic Ornaments

Happy Hump day peeps!!! Hope you all are having a great week so far.

Today's card is made with the new SU Christmas Classics set, I really love the look of those ornaments! I used todays sketch challenge on Splitcoast fr my layout.

I used baja breeze for my base and then a piece of Ski Slope DS paper, layered with a piece of old olive cardstock punched with my Martha Stewart edge punch and topped with a piece of Alpine ribbon. The card is really prettier IRL than the picture shows. Each ornament has 9 little sticky rhinestones on it, for a total of 27 rhinestones and then three bigger ones on the lower left corner, that's some serious bling!!! LOL!!! Simple card and so easy to color those ornaments, they look so cute with minimal effort!! Added the silver bows and another Christmas card done!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and Happy Stamping!

A tough color challenge

Good morning Peeps!! One of my cards today was made for the color challenge on splitcoast and it was a toughie for me!!! Kiwi Kiss, tangerine tango and pixie pink......really pixie pink???? LOL!! I wanted to use my pocket silhouettes set from SU, it had never seen ink and was getting lonely!! This card is sooooo not a favorite of mine but I have definetly made worse, so I decided to post it anyway!! I used alot of punches on this card, a Martha Stewart edge punch and SU's new scallop square punch and the 1 1/4 inch and 1 3/8 inch square punch and the double slot punch, which by the way, I decided to add that bow after sticking down my card, so I had to peel it up and try and slide the punch in and line it up. I had to finish cutting out the slots with my craft knife because of the two layers of cardstock.

The next card is one I made for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge Another card I had trouble with, I did finally end up liking it until this morning. I put stickles on the ghost cupcake last night and when I was taking the picture of it today, I noticed that the black marker I used on the paper pieced cupcake liner had bleed into the stickles some. Darn it, just not a very good stamp day!!!

Well, thats about all for today peeps, thanks so much for stopping by and leave me a comment, so I know you have been here!!!

Frankenstein and the Snowmen

Good morning Peeps!!! Cold and Crisp this morning here, definitely enjoying this weather, I love fall and winter, so I say bring it on!!!!

Don't you love the title of this post? Sounds like a Rock band name or maybe some crime fighting hero's or something LOL!!! Really it is just a card and a treat box!! So let's get it to it!!

First is the Frankenstein box, a CASE of so many cute ones floating around right now, made with the SU top note die and lots of punches. I pretty much used this one for my directions. Isn't he adorable? Altho he does look sad! I used old olive card stock and lovely lilac for the hair.

I made 16 of this over the weekend. They are just tooooo much fun!! Here is a side view which I will fill with a bag of goodies:

And now the oh so cute Holiday line up card:

Aren't those snow men just the cutest thing ever? I love them and I still love that Martha Stewart snowflake punch. Here is a close up of the snowmen where I used liquid applique for the balls on their hats and brim of one of the caps.

Merry & Bright

Good Saturday Morning peeps!!! It is very cool here today, had to turn on the heat in the house last night. Love this time of the year.

My card today is one I made for Beates Weekend Sketch Challenge

I just love this layout! My DD and I always try and have a girls night on Friday nights and last night we stopped by Michael's where I got two new Martha Stewart punches, and I used them both on my card today!! Speaking of Michael's I have to tell you a short little story about the sweet little girl who checked us out, she was so nice and very talkative, but she could not count change at all, I tried to give her the change for my purchase...ie total was $16.46 and I handed her a twenty and then started to dig into my wallet for the fourty six cents and when I handed it to her she didn't know what to do because she had already punched in the twent and the register was telling her the change for that.....insert eye rolls here....she was so sweet I didn't say anything but o.k. and then she tells me she is out pennies and I just tell her not to worry about I am sure she wouldn't have known what to do if I offered to give her a penny!!! So sad that so many young people do not know how to make change on their own.

Anyway, back to the card, I know it looks old school, since it has last years SU's winter green DS paper, but I stil love it, I didn't use that paper much at all last year, because when I pulled it out for this card my pack was still almost complete, just one little peice gone, don't know why I didn't use it much, I really love the colors. I also really like this little snow man from SU's Merry & Bright set, it is a set from last years mini that made it into the current cattie. Yeah!!!! I really love the Martha Stewart Arctic Snowflake Punch, I know I will be using it alot!!

Well thanks so much for stopping by and have a super weekend!!!

BTW....check out this blog I discovered yesterday, I am sure many of you have already been there, but it was new to me and man, can that women ever make cards and the things she can do with corner punches are amazing!!!! Amazing Paper Grace
