Wonderful Mother

Hello Peeps, thanks for stopping by today! Can you beleive it is the last day of January already?

Today's card is a girly version of my Wonderful Friend Card.

I changed this one to be for Mother's Day. I started with a base of rose red, followed that up with some cameo coral and then some whisper white and finally some DS paper from the Raspberry Tart pack. I really love the colors in this card. The strip is also DS paper from the same pack with some whisper white scallops on each side.

The flowers are from the new set Petal Pizazz and the sentiment is from the SU set Wonderful Favorites. I used some white taffeta ribbon and a silver ribbon slide. The flower is up on dimensionals with a sticky pearl in the center. I also added three pearls in the upper right corner.

I want some opinions on this card please, what should I change or do different to improve it. I was thinking I might submit this one and need some help please.

What do you think?

Happy Stamping!

Top Note Box

TGIF Peeps!!! Hope you are all having a great Friday!

Today I have a fun little box to show you. It has been a couple of weeks or so since I made any boxes so it is time! LOL! I just love making little boxes. This one is so fun, very quick and easy! Just my type! I saw this original box on a blog somewhere, and now I can't find it to give credit to, if you know who it is, let me know and I will link it up from here.

First you start by taking your DS paper and adhering it with some mono glue or a glue stick or whatever adhesive you like, to some lightweight cardboard, I used the cardboard that comes in the designer paper packs. This really adds sturdiness to the box. I glued mine on with some mono adhesive and ran it through my cuttlebug with the top note die. You will need two of these, I cut my DS paper into 4 inch strips so you could get 3 of these boxes out of one piece of DS paper.

You will also need to pieces of cardstock cut at 4-1/4 inch by 5-1/2 inch. Score one of the pieces on all four sides at 1 inch. One the next just drop the score line down by an 1/8 inch, so it will fit inside the other. Cut on the parallel lines and fold up you sides. I used score tape on the corners and I also used score tape to attach the top note to the box top and bottom.

If you are going to use some ribbon on your top, put that on before taping the top note to the box top.

I used a stamp from the Love You Much stamp set to decorate the front along with some ribbon.

Here is one I did with some Chocolate chip DS paper and red ribbon.

Well that's all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Fabulous Sketch

Good Thursday morning Peeps! I hope you all are having a great week, we are fast approaching the weekend and that is always good!

My card today was made for the sketch challenge on Mercy's Blog. She certainly has a knack for making sketches, and I have certainly got a knack for totally straying from the sketch. LOL!!!

My card is a 5-1/4 inch square and I was very much inspired by this card on Jenn's Blog "Stamp Your Heart Out". She is a fabulous talent.

I started with a piece of kiwi kiss card stock and followed that with a 1/4 inch smaller piece of riding hood red, followed by a piece of whisper white and then a piece of the oh so pretty Raspberry Tart DS paper. The back layer has another piece of the same DS paper layered on some more riding hood red and kiwi kiss card stock. I stamped the leaves from the SU Level 3 Hostess set "Dream a Little". The flower is stamped three times on scrap white with pink and then stamped again with the outline stamp with riding hood red ink. I then cut them out and layered it up with dimensionals. The hummingbird was stamped with basic gray that had been stamped off once. I then colored in his belly with a blender pen and some ink from the lid of the riding hood red ink. He is mounted on dimensionals as well. I added some pink pirouette ribbon around the back panel and some big white brads in both corners.

The sentiment is from the SU set "Absolutely Fabulous" and was stamped basic gray ink.

Well, that's all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Friend to Friend

Good Wednesday morning peeps!!! Another snow day here. The snow and ice have actually stopped but it is still a little scary out. It all started Monday afternoon with freezing rain and man was everything slick! I walked outside of the store where I work to retrieve an item from the sidewalk and fell flat on my butt!!! The ice was deceiving, I thought the sidewalk was just wet, but quickly found out otherwise, I had to literally crawl on my hands and knees back to the covered door area to be able to get up. Needless to say the item on the sidewalk stayed there until hubby came by! Then yesterday we got a mountain of snow, well more like 4 or so inches but it came down so hard and such big flakes for so long, I thought for sure we would be buried! I got to close the sore early yesterday and so I went home and was able to complete my Elvis order. They will be hitting the mailbox soon! I am so excited and a little nervous, I hope she is happy with them.

On to today's card. I used this sketch on Karen Giron's Blog The
Sweetest Thing. I really had trouble with it and I took way to much time to finally come up with something and still it doesn't completely fit the sketch but comes close enough, I think.

I started with a riding hood red base and followed that with some whisper white and some designer paper from the Urban Garden pack. I used the SU stamp set "Love You Much". I originally had intended to use the Love you much stamp from the set but couldn't get it to work for me, so I finally just chucked that portion and went onto the birds. I paper pieced them with some of the DS paper. I punched the heart out with the 3 heart punch with riding hood red. The flowers are punched with the 3 for you flower punch in baja and have a silver brad from the silver hodge podge kit. The friend to friend sentiment is punched out with the word window punch and has another baja flower mounted on one end. I used my new Martha Stewart Valentine Lace punch to add the hearts on the side. I used some riding hood red ribbon and a silver ribbon slide for the knot. The brads are from the flower brads and I put a small circle of riding hood red in the center and covered it with a little crystal effects. The center piece is mounted with dimensionals.

Well, that's all for today. Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Forever in my Heart

Happy Tuesday! Hope you are all having a great week so far!

Today's card I made for the sketch on Jen's Blog. I am again playing with this fun Bella Blossom stamp set. I am also using some of my very favorite papers, the SU Urban Garden. I never knew I love "Not Quite Navy" so much until I got this paper and now I have a hard time reaching for anything else! LOL!!!

I started the card with a base of NQN, followed by sone old olive and then the two pieces of DS paper. The sentiment is from the SU set "stem Sayings. The sentiment panel is under the strip of DS paper on the right side. a really cute idea I think and I probably would have never thought to do it on my own. I used some old olive ribbon that is 5/8 inch and used a ribbon slide from the silver hardware kit. the brads are NQN and silver flowers. The flower is layered up like yesterdays card. The stem and leaves are from SU's new set "petal pizazz", stamped with old olive and cut out and glued on. I trimmed the stem at the edge of the bottom of the card.

Well, that is it for today, be safe and warm and thanks so much for stopping by. Happy Stamping!

Bella Thank you

Good Monday Morning Peeps! Hope you all had a great weekend! I was busy most of the day yesterday working on, you guessed it, Elvis cards, and I happy to report that I am more than half done. I hope to have them in the mail by the middle to end of this week! We are under a winter storm advisory, with ice and sleet and snow predicted later today. I hope we don't lose power, last ice storm our power was out 5 days! It was miserable.

I did take a break from Elvis to make a card to show you today. I wanted to use my new to me set, Bella Blossoms. I just got it on Friday night and was anxious to play with it. I also wanted to use the sketch on the
Our Creative Corner blog. I am not sure it qualifies for the sketch because I added the large panel on the front with my Bella Blossom. I did use the two round corner elements. Soooooo....anyway, I do LOVE this stamp! It is so pretty and makes really pretty cards, but it is large!

I started with a base of riding hood red , followed by a piece of kiwi and a piece of DS paper from the Bella rose pack. the center strip is made up of white, riding hood and DS paper from the Bella pack. I stamped the flower with riding hood and kiwi on whisper white card stock. I then stamped the flower two more time on scraps of white with riding hood red. I cut out the two front pieces of the flower and layered them up with some dimensionals. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and was stamped with riding hood red. I masked off the "you" first and stamped the "thank" part with RHR and then did the same with the "you", centering it under the "thank" so I could use my 1" punch and some pretty hardware from the stylized silver hodgepodge kit. The opposite corner has a large spiral clip with a piece of RHR ribbon tied on and held down with a glue dot. I added two small photo corners on the other two corners underneath the flower panel.

I have to take some time to show you a couple of awards that have been sent to me lately.

The first was given to me by Chat on her blog "Me, My Stamps and I. She is a fabulous stamper and so sweet. I stalk her blog regularly.

And then this weekend I received another from this wonderful stamper, Kim Evans,

Stamping with Kim. Check out her blog, it is awesome!

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by, be sure to come by tomorrow for another card with this same set! Happy Stamping!!

You Made my Day

TGIF Peeps! Are you ready for the weekend! I am super excited, I have stamp camp tonight with my fabulous SU demo and her awesome group. She has a sneak peek on her BLOG of the fun projects we will be making!

On today's card I was greatly inspired by the one seen in this post on Jan Tink's Blog. I changed up a few things from her original design. I used the top note die and I used different colors. The placement of my ribbon and brads are different and I also cut out and layered up the blue flowers and added a half pearl to the center. I also added some leaves in always artichoke.

I do have to tell you how I struggled getting those solid flowers to stamp out nicely, well just the riding hood red one. I swear I cut and used at least 6 top note pieces, front and back. I was so frustrated, I almost chucked the whole thing!

Anyway I finally finished it.....but by this point I am not loving it! The base is riding hood red, followed with a piece of so saffron and then some Washington Apple DS paper. The main image is up on dimensionals. The sentiment is from the SU set "Stem Sayings."

That is all for today, THANKS so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!!

Friendship and Love

Good Thursday Morning Peeps! Hope your week has been a good one so far. It is going to get fairly warm today in the upper 50's to 60 here. Heading for a big cool down with possible snow and ice over the weekend and first of next week, so get out and enjoy if you can!

I have two cards to show you today, both made with this sketch number 212 on splitcoast.

The first was made with the new SU set "Love You Much". I stamped the hearts in the set on riding hood red and embossed with white embossing powder. The large one I cut out and the other two was punched with the Heart punch that comes with that bundle. The DS paper is also SU and is from the Candy Lane pack. My card base is riding hood red and my layers are matted with close to cocoa. The sentiment is from the "Small Sayings" set and stamped on whisper white with riding hood red and punched out with the small oval punch. I then layered it on a piece of ink pirouette that was punched with the large oval punch. I added alot of sticky half pearls and some piercing with my piercing tool and mat pack. I used some riding hood red taffeta ribbon and a small spiral clip on the knot "bow".

This next one made with the same sketch, I used tangerine for the base layered with more mustard and the DS paper was layered onto old olive. I can not remember the name of the DS paper, Hawaiian something! the flower is from the new set "Petal Pizazz" and was stamped with tangerine on PTI white and the leaves from the same set stamped with old olive. The sentiment is from the "Upsy Daisy" set and was also stamped with tangerine and punched out with the large oval punch. I punched another piece of tangerine out with the large oval and offset it slightly to the top. I added a little mini library clip to the sentiment. The flower's center element was made with the build a brad and the stamp is from "Little Flowers". I used a Cuttlebug embossing strip for the small panel and added brads to the corners. Finished it with just some peircing around the top corners.

That's all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

P.S. I wanted to share an e-mail I received yesterday, I found it in my spam folder and almost deleted it when I saw the subject line said "Elvis Cards".

Hi, Vicki! I am currently in the musical All Shook Up at a community theatre in New Orleans. I want to send a nice card to all of my fellow cast members as well as to family and friends who come to see me in this show. I figured an Elvis card would only be appropriate and so I goggled "all shook up cards" and came across your adorable cards. Anyhow, I was just wondering if you make these cards for fun or if they are available to purchase. Let me know.

I can be contacted at this email address or by phone at ***-***-****.

I was so honored, and we sent several e-mails back and forth yesterday and in the end we struck a deal for me to make 30 Elvis cards for her. It is exciting, my first sell! She chose
this set for me to make and add the sentiment "All Shook Up" to.

It is so cool how she found my blog my "googling" for Shook Up cards. I guess it was faith! :)

Have a great Day......I have Elvis Cards to Make!!!!!

2 Cards 1 Sketch

Happy Hump Day Peeps! Hope your week is going well!

Today I have two cards to show you both done with Mercy's Sketch. I really struggled with this first one, I had originally wanted to do a baby card with my Punches Three stamp set, but I can not find it anywhere, I spent an extraordinary amount of time last night hunting for it, I remember getting it and mounting it, but I can't find it!!!

So eventually I moved on, deciding on a Valentine type card made with some of the new and never used Raspberry Fizz paper. I used the butterfly from the "Happy Heart Day" set. I stamped it twice once on whisper white and once on the designer paper. I cut out the "heart wings and added them to the whisper white piece. I used some small sticky pearls on the body of the butterfly. The rest is pretty straight forward so I won't bore you with the details, I did use a Martha Stewart edge punch for the bottom strip of pink and added some more sticky pearls to the corners. I am not really loving this card, it just seems to be lacking something in my opinion.

This next one is slight variance on the sketch, a smaller strip across the bottom and a smaller oval, I really like how it came together, the picture really doesn't do it justice.

The flowers were stamped with chalk inks. I have tried to use the stamp, Inspired by Nature, with regular inks and never seem to get the deep rich colors I want, the chalk inks really do a great job. I used some hardware from the stylized silver kit, I love how the brads look like sunflowers. The ribbon is some chocolate chip twill that was in a mini and I think is not available now. I pierced the panel on the top and bottom with my piercing tool and mat pack. the cardstock is chocolate chip and old olive. The only thing I wish was that I had stamped the sentiment in the dark brown, it would show up better.

So which do you like best?

That's all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!!

Wonderful Friends

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps! Another cold one here, even spitting snow when I came to work this morning. Warmer temps are predicted for tomorrow tho!

Today's card was made for the sweet Sunday sketch challenge on Karen Giron's Blog The Sweetest Thing. I have said before that I love sketch challenges, and I found the link to this one on Nancy's blog. Here is Nancy's amazing card for the sketch.

After seeing Nancy's card I knew I had to give that sketch a try. I have been using this color combo alot lately and the paper from the Urban garden collection. I seem to keep reaching for it over and over.

I started the card out with a base of Night of Navy, followed by a layer of baja and then another layer of old olive cardstock. Followed that with a layer of DS paper, then with a 2 1/2 inch wide strip of another DS paper from the Urban Garden pack. I punched strips of Not quite navy out with my scallop edge punch and attached to each side of the strip.

The center sentiment is made with SU's "Wonderful Favorites" stamp set. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig for the placement of the "to my" and "friend". Punched out some stars with the large and small star punch and added them to the corners. I used some silver sticky rhinestones in the center of the stars and on the scallops. I added two strips of 1/4 inch old olive grosgrain ribbon down the panel. I experimented with adding some bows, knots and ribbon slides on the ribbon, but in the end decided not to add any.

I will be sending this out to one of my "wonderful" friends. I hope you all have some wonderful people in your lives, People who are there for you no matter what, if so, send them a card, make their day and let them know how much they mean to you. It will make your day too!

Well, that's all for now, hope you ave a great day and Happy Stamping!!!

Scallop Flower Birthday

Good Monday Morning Peeps. Start of another great stamping week! The new SU cattie is awesome and goes live today!!! What will be on your first order? I know for sure I am ordering the new Eyelet Border Punch and some of the new buttons and brads! One of my favorite stamp sets is the Quilt Quips so that will be on my first order as well. I also love the set Thoughts and Prayers and every one of the sets on pages 90 and 91! I just know my wallet will take a serious hit or two the next couple of months!!! LOL!!!

Now onto today's card, first off it is my sister's birthday today, so this card is for her, second of all have you seen This wonderful ladies blog? I just love all she does and I totally fell in love with this amazing card. I knew right away I wanted to try one myself.

I used Jen's Sketch For You To Try for my layout on this card.

I started by making my scallop flower. I cut a piece of riding hood red DS paper 1 1/4 inch by 12 inches and used the scallop edge punch on one side. I then folded the strip back and forth, accordion style, and then used some score tape to bring the two ends together. To make it stay together in the middle I put a large glue dot in the middle and pushed it all together. Then I used one of the circle designs from the SU set "Sweet Serendipity" to make the center element and the two side flowers. I had to cut them out because I didn't have a punch that fit the design, and then used a scrap of riding hood red to punch a 3/4 inch circle to layer. I used a mini white brad for the center and attached it to the flower with another glue dot. The Happy Birthday stem is from the SU set "Stem Sayings" and the "Celebrate" is from "Sweet Serendipity". I used my piercing tool and mat pack to make the "stitched" stems and colored them in with a marker. The designer paper is from the Riding Hood red print pack.

This card is pretty thick with the scallop flower and wouldn't fit into an envelope for mailing, but is great if you want to hand deliver or attach to a present.

On another fun and amazing note I was highlighted on

Nancy's blog. She makes weekly picks of some of her favorite cards and projects that she finds either on splitcoast or blurfing (blog surfing) and she post a list weekly. She picked my Petal Pizazz Card. I am so honored, Nancy is one of stamping idols! So I am doing the happy dance over here!!!

Well, that's all for today, thnks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Good Morning Peeps! Hope your weekend is going well so far.

Today's card is another made with some new and fast becoming favorites.

I used the designer paper from the level 1 hostess pack and the love birds are in the SU love you much bundle.

This was a fast and easy card to put together.

I used a base of PTI white card stock followed by some basic black and followed that with two real red prints, one slightly wider than the other. stamped the love birds on more PTI white and then again on some real red designer paper, just a scrap I had, and cut them and and placed them over the image on the white.

I punched a red heart out with some more red scraps and added that. Matted it up with some basic black and popped it up with some dimensionals. Added some ribbon and black brads as well.

The sentiment piece is also a stamp from the Love you Much set and was stamped three times, once in black and cut out, then twice in red and punched and cut out and layered up. Then layered it all onto a piece of basic black that I punched out with the scallop circle punch.

After having it all put together, I thought the main image panel looked a little plain so I added some doodles with my black marker.

That's all I have for you today, Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!

Friend to Friend Pizazz

Hello peeps! Another cold day here in southwest Missouri, Hope ya'll are safe and warm where ever you are today.

Today's card is a 4 1/4 inch by 4 1/4 inch square.
I started with a base of riding hood red, followed by a layer of pink pirouette.
On the pink layer I layered a slightly small piece of DS paper, from the new Candy Lane DS pack.
The middle strip is another piece from the same pack. The flowers are from the new set Petal Pizazz and was punched out with the scallop circle punch.
I stamped three flowers on PTI white card stock with pink pirouette ink, and three leaves with kiwi ink. The flowers are up on dimensionals and the leaves are flat, just peeking out of the corners of the flower grouping.
I added a silver brad to each flower center and silver sticky rhinestones to the scallop edge, the top corners and the sentiment piece.
The sentiment is from the Love you Much stamp set and punched out with the word window punch. I used some pink pirouette ribbon across the center, I tried a knot on the side but it seemed to be to much so I left it off.

I think I will make a few more like this one and a box to hold them for a small gift for a friend.

That's all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Monochromatic color combos!

Good Thursday Morning Peeps! Hope you all are staying warm, it is like a sub-zero deep freeze here and will be for a couple of days according to the weather man! BRRRRRR!!!!! But could be worse, at least no ice is in the forecast!

Today's cards are made with another new SU stamp and some more of that fabulous level 1 Hostess print pack! I just love the colors and papers in that pack! I looked at today's
Ways to Use it Challenge on Splitcoast and came up with these. I sure hope monochromatic counts!

I used this site to choose my colors, and went with the
conjure color family. I just used the blues and white to make my card. A really simple and quick card to put together. I used the SU top note die, dimensionals and white taffeta ribbon. The one stamp set is called Elegant Thank you, and I do think it is very elegant.

The inside of my card:

And since this was just such a fun and quick card I did another in Kraft and white and more of that awesome designer paper!

Well, that's all for today, Hope you all are safe and warm. Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!!

Celebrate, Laugh, Love

Good Wednesday Morning Peeps! Hope your week is going well so far!

Today's card is made with this sketch on Mercy Kerin's blog. Another sketch I printed out and actually made a card with! Yeah me!!

I started with a base of real red followed by a layer of whisper white and then a layer of real red DS paper from the level 1 hostess pack from the current cattie. The balloons are from the SU set Crazy for Cupcakes. I stamped on watercolor paper and colored them in with markers and blended with my aqua painter. The sentiments on this card are from the SU "Everday Flexiable Phrases" Set and was stamped individually in real red ink. I punched the circle out with my 1" circle punch and layered it onto another real red circle that was punched with the 1 1/4" circle punch. I added some real red striped ribbon and some mini white brads. The balloon colors are real red, pretty in pink and pixie pink. I covered the balloons with some crystal effects, to make them shiny. It doesn't show in the picture, but is really adds a nice touch to the card.

Well, that's it for today, Thank you so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!!

More New Stamps

Good Morning Peeps! I feel so much better today, almost like myself again. YEAH!!!! I was able to actually eat a meal last night.

More new stamps in the house!!! I got another shipment of back order items yesterday and another expected on Wednesday, that one is only one set. Feels good to use new rubber! I am such a Stampin' Up girl, what can I say, I love alot of other stamps but the SU ones always make me feel so happy!!! I'm a geek!!!! I think it is all the excitement surrounding the new cattie and the fact that we wait so long for it. Anyway, on to the card.

I used this sketch on the Mojo Blog for both of today's cards. The first being with the super cute and so fun new SU set called "Just buzzin by". It is adorable and makes me think of the Bee Movie! I really am not into animated movies much, but I did love the Bee Movie! So cute!

I stamped the hive image onto watercolor paper with black stazon and colored with my summer sun marker and more mustard ink from the ink pad. used close to cocoa and chocolate chip for the base. Blending it all together with my aquapainter. I did the bees in the same way and cut them out and popped them up with some dimensionals. I also used some star dust stickles on the wings. The DS paper is from the level 1 hostess pack in more mustard. It reminded me of a honeycomb so I thought it would look cute with these bees. To make the sentiment I used my black marker and colored the words I wanted off of the saying and stamped on the watercolor paper and punched them out and layered them up .

This one made with the same sketch using the new Love you much Stamp bundle. The DS paper is from that bundle and is called Candy Lane. It is sooooo pretty!!

I used my nesties to cut the circles and scallop circles in both cards. On the love you much card I used the heart punch and stamp from the bundle and some riding hood red ribbon. Added a photo corner to the top with some silver sticky rhinestones.

So what do you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!!

Monday, January 12, 2009

Good Monday Morning peeps. So sorry for the long interval between post this last week. I have had and am still getting over a nasty case of the stomach flu!!! BLAH!!!!!

On a happy note I did receive some of my SU order, some on back order is due to arrive today and Wednesday. Still no new cattie yet tho, but since I am just a hobby demo and only get the complimentary copy it might be awhile before it arrives.

My card today is made with one of the new sets I got, petal pizazz. I am a sucker for flower stamps of almost any kind and this one is no exception. I also used Jen's Sketch for you to try for the layout on this card.

I used some DS paper from the SU Urban Garden collection, I really am loving the not quite navy lately. I went a bit layer crazy on this card, I tend to do that to much. There are 12 layers on this card, I bit much, don't you think? I never know when to stop!!!

Well, that's it for today, thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Valentine Box

Good Morning peeps. Happy Hump Day!

Today I have a quick and fun little project to show you. You can find the directions to make your own Acetate Treat Box on splitcoast. I modify mine just a bit to make it a little taller. I added a inch to the measurement for the height of the acetate piece.

These boxes are so much fun and went together very quickly. I spent more time deciding on colors and a stamp set than it took to put together the box. My Happy Heart set is out on loan to a friend and my new stamps have not been shipped yet, so I took out this set from last year. Happy Heart Day I think is the name of it. I stamped the tag image on PTI white cardstock with black stazon ink and colored in the hearts and border with my Pretty in Pink marker. I layered it onto another punched out tag of pretty in pink as well. I added stardust stickles to the hearts. the top heart is one half of the butterfly in the same set, cut out and popped up on a dimensional. The tag itself is mounted to the box with dimensionals as well. I added a fun little mini library clip to the tag.

Filled the box with some pretty Valentine kisses and made a handle with pretty in pink tafetta ribbon. First of my Valentine treats done!!!

That's all I have for today, thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping.

Happy Tuesday Peeps! Hope you all are having a great week so far!

Today's card is one I made for Jen's Sketch for you to try. I told you yesterday, that I love sketch challenges and I search around on blogs for ones to try I print them out and then rarely get them done. Well, this year I am going to try and get more of them done. My second one this year!!! LOL!!

I kinda had trouble with this one, Couldn't really get much to work, I tried several different colors and stamps, I finally, settled on this one. I added a layer, with the sentiment, hope that is still acceptable. I like the colors, again another one from the earth element family, not quite navy, I recently have been using this color more. The DS paper is from SU's Urban Garden series. Fabulous paper, love all the colors in it! You should get you some!!!

The sentiment, is from the SU set Heard from the Heart and the flower is from the SU set Eastern Blooms. I added more paper piercing with the piercing tool and mat pack and some silver sticky rhinestones. I think this would be a great thank you card, I love the font and look of the sentiments in this set!

That's all for today, Thanks again for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Upsy Daisy Birthday

Good Monday Morning Peeps! BRRRRRR.....Baby It's Cold Outside!!!!

Today's card was made with the sketch at
Our Creative Corner. I just love sketch challenges, they are probably my favorite.

I stamped the flower from the SU Upsy Daisy set on PTI white card stock with chocolate chip craft ink. I then dumped some stardust transparent embossing powder over it and shook off the excess and used the heat gun to set it. It is really sparkly IRL. I like this color combo, but it took awhile, to get the right balance. The DS paper is from the SU Autumn Vines series. The rest is pretty straight forward. I used some versamark to stamp the flowers again on the lower panel and sponged the edges with more mustard ink. I added one of my favorite additions, paper piercing, with my piercing tool and mat pack and a couple of chocolate chip brads and a bow and, Viola, done!

What do you think, do you like the colors? I find that I use the earth element colors alot, I almost always reach for them. I need to break out and use some of the others, I swear I have some ink pads, in other color families, that still have the plastic around them.

Thank you, Thank you very much!

Good Friday morning Peeps!!!

You know, I am still playing with Elvis!!! He is the King after all and he calls to me in such a sweet tone, I just can't resist!!!

Today's card was made for the limited supply challenge on splitcoast, Favorite things.
You know my favorite stamps right now are the fabulous CHF Elvis stamps!!! I also used the sketch challenge from this week on splitcoast for my layout.

I started with my card base of riding hood red and followed that with a piece of pink pirouette. Then a piece of DS paper from the Washington Apple series of SU paper's. I used the cuttlebug and embossing folder, another favorite tool, and added some brads from the silver hodgepoge set and a little mini paper clip. I tied a piece of riding hood red taffeta ribbon around the clip, another favorite embellishment, ribbon!

This thank you card is heading out to a friend who sent me a beautiful poinsettia for Christmas. Hope she loves Elvis as much as I do!

That's all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!!
