Hello There

Good Monday Morning Peeps!!! How was your weekend? Mine was good, but tooooo short!!! I never have enough time to get things done lately and I get stressed and then everything ends up suffering, case in point......Today's card.

I started out with the sketch on The Stamps and Smiles Blog. The sketch is cute and fairly easy, but I almost always have to make things harder than they need to be.

After I finish my cards, I am seldom happy with them, I am very critical of what I do and you can not believe how much I struggle with most of the cards I make, I spend way to much time trying to figure out what to do and then I pick them apart after they are done.

On this one I wished I had made the scallop circle out of the summer sun color, I think it would make it look like a big ol' sun and wouldn't blend so much with the bird and the bottom panel. I also knew I wanted to put something in the upper left corner but couldn't decide on what it needed, I ended up with three silver brads, but now I wished I had tried a photo corner or maybe some white brads...?? I also think that maybe the sentiment is tooo small.

What I do like is the swirls. I borrowed this from my friend Lois. I believe it is called ......something scribbles, it is a sizzlet and she got it at Michael's I think but it is also in the SU cattie. I also like the big ol' blue bird that i used from the Good Friend set. he is very, very cute!!! The Ds paper I used is from the Good Morning Sunshine DS pack, I really love the colors in that pack.

So please take a minute if you can to tell me what you like and don't like on this card. I really appreciate your comments.

Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Vicki

First I love the card! The bird is really cute, the sentiment is small but the birds beak is not that big, else he would be shouting :) You are right with the silver brads, I like these but white would have made it more visible. Anyway, the card is great.

Well, I think you are way too hard on yourself because it's an adorable card!

I too think you are far to hard on yourself. I wonder if you had used summer sun for the scallop it would have 'blended in' with the really cool swirls on the right a little too much.

I agree on the silver brads - they get a little lost. Perhaps some summer sun 1/4 inch circles underneath would make them pop and balance the summer sun swirls.

But I think I really am just being super super picky - it is fabulous card!
