Merry Monday.....tis the season

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Time for a new Merry Monday Challenge!

This week is an awesome sketch:

I was looking through my stamps and stumbled upon this retired Stampin Up set that I bought well over a year ago and had never used, I thought it would be perfect for this sketch. The set is called "Polar Pals" and I just love these bears, which is why I looked for it and bought it off e-bay, the set was brand new and unmounted when I purchased it so I had to cut it out and mount it. Makes you appreciate the fact that Stampin' Up sets are cut now.

I stamped the bears onto my rustic white card stock and then again on a post it note. I then stamped them a third time onto some scrap card stock. I cut out the image on the post it note and used it to mask off my image so I could sponge the BG. I used Night of Navy to sponge in the night sky and then used my white gel pen to add in the snow.

I colored in the scarfs of the bears using my aqua painter and cherry cobbler and gumball green ink pads.
I then colored in the second stamped image on the scrap paper. I cut out the head and scarf  on the large bear and added it to the main piece with some dimensionals. On the smaller bear I cut out the body and head and lifted leg and added it over the main with more dimensionals. The main image is die cut with one of the label framelits.
The base of the card is night of navy and then the next layer is more of the rustic white that I embossed with a snowflake EF. The DSP is from the Print Poetry pack.
I added a yellow embossed star and some white bakers twine.
The sentiment comes from the Polar Bear set.

Be sure and head over to Lesley's Blog-Always Playing with Paper
to see what the rest of the Merry makers did with this color challenge,
I am sure you will be inspired to play along!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Oh, Vicki, this is adorable! I love how you've added dimension with the paper piecing and your snow is amazing. I would have blotched at least one "snowflake".

This card is just awesome, Vicki! I love it! The snowy background is incredible and really helps to showcase the bears! The image reminds me of the Coca-Cola commercial with the mother and baby polar bears that was on TV a few years ago! Super job with the sketch!
