Hello Friend!

Good Monday Morning Peeps!! Hope you all had a great weekend and are ready for the week!

Today's card was made for 2 challenges, first up Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 14 and the sketch challenge this week at Our Creative Corner.

Don't you just love this yummy color combo? Bashful Blue, whisper white, orchid opulence and almost amethyst. Beautiful, soft colors, made me think spring. My card is based on this one by Dana Grothaus. I wanted to try and create the same sentiment, but with the supplies I have, mostly SU! :)

The card base is whisper white and I followed that with bashful blue and the DS paper is from a retired Hostess Print Pack. I added white strips, that I had embossed with a dot strip, across the top and bottom. The bottom one is wider than the top and I used the new scallop trim border punch on it too.

I cut the letters for the "Hello Friend" from bashful blue card stock using the naturally serif sizzlit strip die. I used the stamp set "For All You Do" for the flowers. I stamped them with orchid opulence and almost amethyst ink, and cut them out and mounted them with some dimensionals. The stem was stamped with old olive ink onto the white circle before the sentiment was glued on. I added some silver sticky rhinestones to the center of the flowers. I finished the card with some orchid opulence 1/4 inch grosgrain ribbon.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Vicki

This is fabulous!! You're right, it is a really yummy colour combo. I have been desperately trying to avoid that set you used as it is a small fortune in the Canadian catty, but I keep seeing such lovely cards using it I may have to cave and get it LOL! Love the border punch, the way you laid out the letters and the silver half pearls. Wonderfully done.

Beautiful! I love the way you have interpreted the sketch using the strips of embossed card stock. And I have always liked that SU DP you used. Thanks for sharing with us at the OCC this week!
