Hello

Hello guys!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

My card:

I have always said I love a sketch challenge, but this one was more than a bit of a challenge for me, all those little squares and getting them all lined up was not easy. I came up with a little trick that helped me a lot. I cut 4 strips of white the size of my squares and then mounted them to the strips, I then could trim the edges to make it all look cohesive. I layered my strips onto a piece of white the size of them all together.

And another trick I learned when making quilt cards was to use to emboss your panel, it hides a multitude of tiny inconsistence in the pattern.

I used the Tin Tile EF.

I used a variety of DSP from a few packs, I just pulled ones I thought would all go together with my vase of flowers.

The little vase of flowers comes from the Pop Up Petals stamp set.
I stamped the vase using Balmy Blue
and colored the flowers with my blends using Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and
Crumb Cake,
All this was mounted on a piece of burlap look DSP from a retired pack.

My sentiment comes from the Layered Flowers set.
I layered this all onto a Crumb Cake Base and finished up with a small twine bow and a few yellow adhesive dots.
I really like the outcome and even thought my squares are not perfect it still looks good, I think so anyway. 😉

Thanks for coming by and Happy Stampin!

Vicki

Your card reminds me of a family quilt and I love that the squares aren't perfect. The colors give it a homespun feel, too! Thanks so much for joining FMS this week!
