Make A Wish

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!! Hope your week has been good so far.

Today's card is for the sketch on the Stamp and Smiles Blog, day 2.

I sure had a hard card making session with this one, I couldn't come up with anything I was happy with. I couldn't decide between a 5 inch square or a 4-1/4 inch square, I tried trendy trees, nope, tried thoughts and prayers, nope.....then I finally settled on Big Birthday Candle. I like the final result but it took awhile to get there.

All I knew when I sit down to start this card was the DS paper I wanted to use, Sweet Slumber. I chose my card stock colors from there, Sahara sand, so saffron and baja blue.

I really like this set, altho I seldom use it. It is a fun set, could use for young or old alike. I stamped the candle onto my DS paper and cut them out, I did the same with the flame, onto so saffron cardstock and cut out. I sponged some ruby red into the center of the flame with a Q-tip. I cut the oval scallop with my nesties and cuttlebug and pierced the scallops. The center oval and the sentiment is on shimmer white cardstock. I punched the ends of my sentiment panels with the curly label punch. The sentiment, the candles and the oval are all mounted to the card with dimensionals. I added some so saffron brads to the corners and sticky rhinestones for the side element, to meet the sketch.

I decorated the inside too. Here is a picture :

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING

Vicki

Cute cute cute! I love how you colored the flame on the candle.
Also love that it's a square card.
Great job!

What a wonderful card! That is a really good tip for stamping the stamp onto the DSP and coloring the flame with a Q-Tip.

i've contemplated getting this set multiple times, because every time i see a card done with it, i like it!

as much as we don't like trial and error, it's usually what makes for the best cards in the end. i would've moved the scalloped piece to the center, but i like it the way you have it too.

the decorated interior really makes it special. good job!
