The Paper Players.....Wishing You a Happy Birthday

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using
the sketch challenge this week on The Paper Players Blog.

This was a fun little sketch to work with.
I had an idea for this card when I saw the sketch but it sure took a long time to get it to come together.
I really just had the basic idea, the tulips to the side of the circle and the sentiment across the bottom.
This is another new set I got from MFT called Spring Tulips.
Love it, it has solid and line images both for the tulips and some really pretty sentiments.
I had the idea for a red and crumb cake combo, and that is on here but really the white is more prominent I think.

I created the BG by cutting a "stencil" with the retired lattice die from Stampin Up.I laid it down and sponged over it with some Soft Sky ink. It is really pretty and looks so much better than I was able to capture in my pics.
My center element is made up with a doily and the round DSP is from a retired pack.
I stamped the tulips with memento ink and colored with my copic markers. I then cut it all out and added it to the circle with some dimensionals.
The sentiment is stamped onto some red card stock with black craft ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I just hand cut the "v" in the banner and added it just tucking it under the tulips.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Vicki

Love those sweet tulips Vicki, and they really pop against the soft blue background. What a great idea to use that lattice die as a stencil. Thanks so much for playing along with my sketch challenge this week at The Paper Players!

Vicky, I really love your stenciled background--so soft and pretty! Soft Sky is a lovely color with the bold red. The tulips are perfect for this sketch--an all 'round fabulous card, as always! Thank you for joining us at The Paper Players!
