Valentine Greetings

Happy Friday Peeps!

So sorry for just getting this posted,  I have been busy with things and my poor blog gets neglected.
Anyway this is a card I created on Tuesday using the COLOR CHALLENGE, this week on Splitcoaststampers.

The colors this week are Soft Suede, Calypso Coral, and Pool Party.
I thought a bit about this before I hit upon the idea to make this card.
I had made a floral wreath on the card on my last blog post and so I thought I could do another one using these colors.
I used my heart framelits to cut the heart shape into the base of the card which is
Soft Sued and then I embossed with the Woodgrain EF. I found out after doing this card  that embossing this along with the large heart opening makes the front piece a bit flimsy, so next time I will back it with another piece of card stock before cutting and embossing. I added a piece afterwards, trying to align it all up but it isn't as straight as I would like, not bad but not as nice as I want, so if you go to duplicate this you may want to use two pieces of cardstock glued together on the front.

The flowers are all stamped and hand cut out using the Calypso Coral and Pool Party ink.
The stamp  set I used is of course, the Stampin Up Bloomin' Marvelous.

Don't you love how the flowers look against the Woodgrain embossed Soft Suede?

The ribbon and button is from the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button pack.
I used several basic pearls for the flower centers and at the top corners of the front.
The sentiment is from the Grateful Greetings stamp set.
I think it turned out nice but it is alot of fussy cutting so if you don't like doing that this card my not be for you...LOL!!

Well, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!
Vicki

  4. I love the flowers. This card is gorgeous. The doily behind it really makes the flower pop.
Can you give me a little hint about stamping to make the flowers look like yours?

Are the white lines I see between the petals lines that are on the stamp? What about the little white specks that I see too? Is this part of the way the stamp is made? Are you just stamping with one color of ink on each petal.

Thanks for displaying the card and giving me more details.

  6. Humm, I do not see my post will try again.

I really, like your card and the wood grain look is very nice.

Can you give me some more details about stamping these flowers. Are the lines between the petal an area on the stamp that does not take up color and same with the little specks that I see?

Are you using just one color on each petal? I would like to try to make this. I do not do a lot of stamping but want to try with this one.

    Thank you for the information.

  9. Fabulous card, as usual, Vicki. I love how you create cards with your flowers. Do you have a die that cuts the flowers or do you do them by hand? Thanks so much for sharing your creations.
