Merry Monday Sketch

Hello Peeps, popping back in today with another card.
This card uses the Merry Monday sketch challenge. I have been wanting to play along with Lesley's new challenges since they begun and never seem to work them in. Well this week my sweet friend Wendy is the guest designer, so I just HAD to find time to make a card.

Here is the sketch:

I am such a seasonal stamper, that I had a hard time thinking about doing a Christmas card, but while looking through my Christmas stamps for some inspiration and nothing striking my fancy, I sit back down at my desk and my bird punch was there, ( you will see why later in the week) and I thought I could make a cardinal, that works for Christmas and so this card was born! :)

I made the birdhouse by cutting a crumb cake circle and trimming off the bottom and the top was cut at an angle for the roof. I used early espresso for the roof and the circle opening. I then punched alot of leaves using some old olive and always artichoke to build the nest the bird is on. I added some small red "berries" to the leaves
The sentiment is from the Contempo Christmas stamp set.
I think the rest is pretty self explanatory but if you have any questions just let me know.
Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Color Challenge Thanks

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!

Just popping in here quickly to share this clean and simple card I made using the Color Challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers.
The colors this week are White, Pool Party and Island Indigo with the dessert option of only using a sentiemnt stamp. I used the fun little set from Stampin Up called Outlined Occasions which is available only during Sale-A-Bration.
I used the Adorning Accents Edgelit Die and embossing folder on the bottom of the card. I colored in the sentiemnt using my water brush and pool party and island indigo ink.

The butterfly is made with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit. I layered it with both colors and added some pearls to the center. I used some pretty island indigo ribbon across the top to finish it off.
Well, that is all from me, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Happy Anniversary

Happy Monday Peeps, I have been busy making cards for a large order I received from a very sweet customer and she requested a few Anniversary cards. Generally she tells me what she would like on the cards she orders or she request one or more of my cards I have posted here on my blog with a certain sentiment to fit her needs. But this time on a few of the cards she said "surprise me", love that!!

This is just one of the surprise me cards she asked for. I already had the flowers done from another project that I ended up using another image with so I just had to work in the sentiment, which comes form the retired
Stampin Up set called Something to Celebrate. It is one long sentiment so I used my stamp a ma jig to line it up like it appears on my card.

I kinda just winged it with this layout, I wanted to use this pretty piece of DSP from the Twitterpatted paper pack and then I layered it up a bit and of course I had to add a piece of card stock that I embossed with the square lattice EF, that has to be my all time favorite embossing folder. I use it on almost everything i make and I have to force myself sometimes to use some different ones so I know I am obsessed with it....:)

I used some pearl swirls around the focal piece and added some whisper white satin ribbon and tied a nice bow.
Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC151.....Happy Easter

Good Morning Peeps!!!
It is Sunday which means it's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Here is the SWEET sketch Karen has for us this week:

I know it may seem like I am pushing the holidays here to be doing Easter cards already, but I am loving this set, Stampin Up's Everybunny.
I paired it up again with some of the Everyday Enchantment DSP. The image is stamped with black stazon onto some confetti cream card stock. I then colored it using a water brush and ink pads. I used crumb cake for the bunny, some calypso coral for ears, cheeks and little scarf. The cracked egg is colored lightly with some baja breeze. I used som crystal effects on the egg shell, altho it is not very noticeable.
The little sentiemnt is from the same set I just had to stamp it on top of itself and leave of a bit of it. I used a 1" circle and 1-1/4" circle punches to punch out the sentiment

.
I used a bit of baja breeze pleated ribbon across the top and used some sticky tape to attach it.
The striped piece of DSP is matted with some lucky limeade card stock and then embossed with the square lattice EF. I did space the two strips apart but after the piece was embossed it looked like a solid piece, so I added the "rick-rack".
I punched a small flower with one of the itty bitty punches and added a brad and attached it to the base of the egg. I added some silver brads to the corners to finish it off.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

OK, let's see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team, and Guest Designer has in store for us this week:

The circles are punched with my 1-3/4 inch circle punch and the pink pirouette flowers are made with Bouquet Blossom Triple Layer punch. I then embossed the circles with the square lattice EF.

SC369....Happy Easter Bunny

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card made using the sketch challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers
I pulled out a set I got quite awhile back but hadn't used called "Everybunny" It is a seriously cute set from Stampin Up. Every image in this set is adorable, I am sure you will be seeing more from it.

I stamped the bunny image onto some confetti cream card stock and colored her up with my aqua painter and ink pads. I used crumb cake and to match my DSP, calypso coral for her dress.

My card base is Crumb Cake card stock and then I followed that with some confetti cream and then the DSP. I embossed this layer with the square lattice EF. The angled strip is more DSP  from the Everyday Enchantment pack that you can get free during SAB with a 50 dollar order, just let me know if you want to place an order and get some of this fab paper!
I added some very vanilla satin ribbon and some basic pearls!
Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!

CC359....Happy Birthday

Happy Hump Day Peeps1

Today I am sharing a card I made using the color challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers.
The colors are Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade and Basic Black.
I struggled so much putting this card together, I wasted a bunch of card stock trying to put together something that I felt was pleasing to the eye.
I knew right off I wanted to color some of the pretty flowers from the Stampin Up Bordering on Romance stamp set. I stamped the flower spray onto some confetti cream card stock and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads.  I stamped the flower two more times and colored and cut out and added to the main piece with dimesionals.

The sentiment on here is from the SAB set Elementary Elegance. The card is a  4-1/4" square. The image is matted with a lucky limeade scallop circle and the basic black card stock is embossed with the square lattice EF. I added a small limeade bow and some basic pearls.

Well, hope you like it, even tho it was difficult to get to the end, I am happy with the outcome.
Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Penguin Love

Happy Tuesday Peeps
Today  I am sharing a card I made using a couple of challenges in mind. First ups was the The Paper Players challenge this week is to make a CAS card with a tag. I started out to make a CAS, Clean and Simple, card but as you all may know, I have a hard time with this type of card, I know I have a clean style but simple? not so much and as usual I added too much stuff!, but I DID get the tag part right! LOL!
I had saw this cute little penguin made with punches on LeeAnn Greff's Blog and knew right away I wanted to make him on a valentine Card for hubby. Isn't he adorable?

I also used the LateNightStampers challenge this week which is a Valentine/Love challenge. I used Crumb Cake card stock for the base of my card and also for the tag. The other colors are real red and pretty in pink with some basic black and whisper white thrown in as well.
I hope you like my little Penguin Love card and thanks so much for stopping by today!!
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

OCC....Inspiration Challenge

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!
It is time for another Our Creative Corner Challenge.
This week our hostess with the mostest is Lori Rider and she has a fun inspiration challenge for us.

Her is the challenge in her own words:
Please choose at least two elements from the photo and describe how they inspired your card or project.
Optional: since this is a baby shower dessert table, make something with a baby theme!

Isn't that photo scrumptious?
I was inspired to use the colors in the piece, I choose, very vanilla, calypso coral, pool party and soft suede and I used some of the Everyday Enchantment  DSP. I was in need of a baby card so this was a great inspiration to get it done.
The bunny on here is from a retired Stampin Up set called  "A New Little Someone", I stamped the bunny onto some very vanilla card stock with black stazon. I colored the bunny in with soft suede, pool party and calypso coral. The intended receiver of this card is adopting a baby boy so I wanted to make sure this card said "Boy" more than girl, so I colored the bunnies bow and feet pads with the pool party and added just a bit of coral on the inside of the ears and on his cheeks.
I also took inspiration from the photo to put my bunny inside a circle to mimic all the circular elements in the photo, the cakes, the bowls and glasses. I brought in a bit of bling with silver brads on the top corners of the card and mini silver brads on the sentiment piece.

The sentiment is from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set and I used my word window punch and modern label to make the sentiment tag.
I added some very vanilla satin ribbon across the bottom as well.

Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog
to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun challenge.
I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do, don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it!

Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

The DSP I used is from the Everyday Enchantment that will be available during SAB. You have to get some if it, it is so pretty!!

The little girl is from the Stampin Up Greeting Card Kids stamp set and I stamped her onto some confetti cream card stock and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads.
The sentiment is from another SAB set.
The card is pretty simple and self explanatory I think, but if you have any questions be sure and let me know!

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!!
Today I am sharing a card made with the color challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers.
The colors to use are Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette with neutrals of your choice. The dessert option is to make it Valentine themed, with hearts, roses or anything Valentine related.
I used the Stampin Up "Bordering on Romance" stamp set. I stamped with black stazon onto white card stock and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads. the sentiment is from the "Sweetheart" stamp set.

I used the new edgelit and adorning accents EF for the pink strip along the bottom. I added a few non SU items, the paper doily and the pearl swirls.

I used some whisper white satin ribbon to tie the bow. The main image is added to the card with some dimesionals. I used my circle and scallop circle nesties to cut out the main image and the mat. I pierced all around the scallop mat with my piercing tool.

CAS153.......With Sympathy

Happy Tuesday peeps!!
Today I am sharing a card I made using the Clean & Simple challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers. I like how this came out altho clean & simple is not a style I tackle that often as I tend to embellishment to much.
The CAS challenge was a sketch inspired by the card shown using the color block technique shown in the sample.
I had never really tried this technique and I think most people do it by inking an acrylic block and stamping it directly on the paper, I tried  that but really didn't like my results so I took a scrap piece of card stock and cut a square in the middle and used that to create my blocks. I sponged the colors into the opening using Marina Mist and pear Pizzazz.

I then inked up the flower image from the Stampin Up "Inspired by Nature" stamp set with some black ink and stamped it on the card stock.
The sentiment is from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set and is also stamped with black ink.
I matted this piece with some Marina Mist card stock and then added it to the base of Confetti Cream card stock. I added three silver pearls for my only embellishments.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

SSSC150........Sending Many Thanks

Good Morning Peeps!!!
It is Sunday which means it's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Here is the SWEET sketch Karen has for us this week:

I broke out some "new" goodies again for this card, the Stampin Up "Bordering on Romance" stamp set and some of the oh so pretty, "Twitterpated" DSP.
I stamped the flower image onto some confetti cream card stock twice and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads.  I used blushing bride, riding hood red, pear pizzazz, old olive, daffodil delight and island indigo for the colors of the flower spray.
I cut out part of the flower and layered it onto the first with some dimesionals.
The base of the card is Blushing Bride card stock and I followed
that up with some riding hood red card stock and then a piece of the DS.
I used another piece of the DSP across the bottom and I die cut the edge with one of the new edgeleits.
I then used another piece of riding hood red card stock and embossed it with the Square Lattice embossing folder.

I added some blushing bride ribbon across the bottom and for the piece behind the main image  on the sketch I took just a bit of artistic license and used some pearl swirls.
I added more pearls to the flower centers and to the corners of the card.
The sentiment is from the Stampin Up Petite Pairs stamp set.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

OK, let's see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team has in store for us this week:

OCC...Paper Piecing Challenge

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!
It is time for another Our Creative Corner Challenge.
This week I am again your  hostess challenge and my challenge to you is:

Paper Piecing, Use some kind of paper piecing on your card or project this week. Stamp something and use DSP to piece an element of the stamp or paper piece you Background. In addition NO ribbon and only one embellishment is allowed.

I decide to "piece" my card. I had been making some quilt cards the last couple of weeks and thought a set would be nice for Valentine's Day.
These cards are 4-1/4 inch squares. I uses some retired Stampin Up paper. I wanted to keep them simple to highlight the "pieced quilt block" which fit the challenge to only use 1 embellishment and NO ribbon.

Each pieced block was embossed using the Vintage Wall Embossing Folder. I used Pretty in Pink, Real Red and Chocolate Chip Card stock.

The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.
The brads are also some Stampin Up retired items.

Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog
to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun challenge.
I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do, don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it!

Thanks

Happy Thursday Peeps!
Today's card share is a semi CASE of THIS card by Donna of Butternut Sage Designs. I first saw it on Stampin Connection, a demo only site, and thought it was so pretty and definitely  a very mailable card, I wanted to make one like it. I, of course, changed it up a bit in the course of making it. I LOVE the new Stampin UP edgelits dies, but they have proved to be just a bit challenging for me. Maybe it is just me but I have had a little bit of trouble making my layers line up properly, but I will keep at it and get it figured out.
So even tho this cards layers are not quite perfect, I still like the outcome.

You can see more in this pic where the layers are off somewhat! EEEK!!

So anyway the card is made with confetti cream card stock and the DSP and stamp set is from the upcoming Stampin Up Sale-a-Bration which begins the 24th of this month.
The stamp set is called Outlined Occasions and the DSP is Everyday Enchantment, that paper is awesome!!!
The butterfly is from the "Flight of the Butterfly" stamp set.
I stamped the butterfly with Calypso Coral onto the card and once on some scrap card stock. I cut it out and added it to the base gluing it just in the middle and pulling up the wings. I added a couple of basic pearls in the center of the butterfly and to the top edges of the card.
The "Thanks"  is colored in with my aqua painter using calypso coral, baja breeze and old olive ink.
Well, that is all from me, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!

Sweet Friend Birthday

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made over the weekend using the Stampin Up "You Are Loved" stamp set.
I stampe the sweet little image onto some confetti card stock  with pear pizzazz. I then stamped it again this time onto some scrap confetti card stock and I used my markers to color in the flower heads. I used calypso coral and crushed curry markers and then stamped. I cut out the flowers and added them to the main piece with some dimensionals.

I then stamped the sentiment, using my stamp-a-ma-jig. I decide to make the main piece into a tag, so I used my tag corner punch at the top. It was not quite as long as I wanted so I mounted it onto another piece of card stock and then added the DSP to the bottom to cover the bottom pieced on part. The DSP on the card is from the Stampin Up Pocketful of Posies paper pack.

I used some calypso coral card stock that I embossed with the square lattice EF to mount the tag on.
The base of the card is Pear Pizzazz and I embellished the card with some pearls and buttons. I added some coral ribbon to the top of the tag and  the sentiment on the bottom part of the tag is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.
Well, that is all from me today,, thanks so much for stopping by and we will talk again soon,

HAPPY STAMPING!!!

More Birthday Wishes

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!
Today I am sharing a card I made on Saturday, another birthday card. I started out to make a few simple, mailable  cards for my etsy store, but as I usually do, I went a bit overboard.

I like the end results, but it was not an easy card and it, altho you could mail, it is a bit heavy.
I used the Stampin Up set called "Happiness Shared" stamp set. I stamped the image onto some confetti card stock and colored with my aqua painter and  ink pads.
I then stamped another image and colored to cut out and add to the top, I cut out the flower and a few leaves to pop up with a few dimesionals over the main image.
I cut out the circle and scallop circle with my nesties.

The base is made from the same confetti card stock that the image is stamped on, I followed that up with some blushing bride card stock and the DSP is from the Stampin Up Paisley Prints paper pack. I used one of the new Textured Impressions Embossing folders with the confetti card stock as the next layer. I then added the scrunched ribbon. I added the main piece to the base with dimesionals. I then made the double bow with the antique brad center and added tot he card using my glue gun.
Then the sentiment piece came next, I stamped this sentiment from the "Petite Pairs" stamp set with black on the confetti card stock, used my 1-1/4 inch circle punch to cut it out and then matted with a 1-3/8 inch circle of blushing bride card stock. I then went a bit crazy with a bunch of basic pearls!! I added a couple of heart pins from my stash to the bow piece and it is done!

Well, I hope you like my "easy and mailable card".....LOL!!! thanks for stopping by toady and we will talk again soon!!!

A little Birthday Romance

Happy Monday Peeps!
I finally got a chance to play with a few of my new goodies, some items from the Stampin Up Occasions Mini.
I love this new set called "Bordering on Romance". I stamped this image from that set onto some confetti cream card stock with black stazon and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads. I love how fun these flowers are to color. I am also entering this in The Paper Players All You Need Is Love Challenge, who wouldn't "LOVE" some of these pretty flowers for their birthday?
I also tried out one of my new edgelit border dies.  Really love how this edge looks, alto it was a bit tricky for me the first time to get the cuts just right so they lined up. The DSP on here is also from the new occasions mini, Twitterpatted, and it has some nice colors in it.
The base of the card is riding hood red and is a 5 x 10 inch piece folded in half.

Also new is the beautiful pleated ribbon, this one in riding hood red also. I added some basic pearls and an antique brad by the sentiment flag.

Well, that is all from me for now, thanks so much for stopping by and we will talk again soon!

OCC.....Shape Card Challenge

EDITED TO ADD: This would fit in a standard A2 envelope, the finished size is  4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches and the link to the template I found online:
SCOTTIE DOG

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!
It is time for another Our Creative Corner Challenge.
This week I am the hostess challenge and my challenge to you is:

"Show Us your Shape"~Shaped cards.
Anything but a square or rectangle.
You can find so many cute templates on the internet or use a die or cut file and your imagination and show us your shapes!!

A while back I found this cute little Scottie Dog Pattern, It is by Kim Hughes and was in the Card Creations magazine. It was my inspiration for this challenge.
I used some basic black card stock folded in half to make the Scottie dog. He folds at the ear and the tail.
I made a couple of the dogs to try out the pattern just plain, but decided after making the initial two that he might look nice embossed and so I gave it a try. I used the Stampin Up square lattice EF on just the front of the card pattern. I really like the look of the puppy embossed, it adds alot, I think.
I hand drew out his "scarf"  and then used some punches to make the "knot". I used a 3/4" circle punch for the middle of the knot and the two side pieces are from the Build a Blossom punch. I used some plaid paper from the Stampin Up Frost wood Lodge paper pack. To make his nose I used the small oval punch and trimmed it down by about half.  I added a small black rhinestone for his eye and the sentiment is from the Stampin Up "Friends Fur-ever" stamp set. I added a couple more black rhinestones to the sentiment piece.
I think they turned out very cute and they are really easy to do.

SC366.....Sending Love

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Hope your 1st week of January was a good one and you are ready for the weekend! We have started the New Year off with a bang here and I am pumped for the year to come, looking forward to good things!

Today I am sharing a card with you that I made using the sketch this week on Splitcoaststampers, you know I love a sketch challenge. This one was a fun one to work with.
This cute image comes from the Stampin Up hostess set called "Ain't Love Grand" . I stamped the image onto some whisper white card stock and then stamped it again onto my red and pink DSP. I then cut out the strips of the balloon alternating the red and pink and pieced the top of the balloon.
I colored the rest of the image with my aqua painter, I used More Mustard ink on the basket part of the hot air balloon and real red and pretty in pink on the hearts.

The base of the card is pretty in pink card stock and then I followed that up with some white and then my pink DSP. The next layer is a strip of pretty in pink card stock that I embossed with the square lattice EF. Then comes the real red and real red DSP panel that is added to the base on a slight angle. I added the main panel to the card with some dimesionals. Next up is the whisper white satin ribbon and bow. The hearts across the bottom of the main panel is punched using the Stampin Up Heart to Heart punch. I embossed these hearts as well with the square lattice EF. Finished it up with a few silver pearls (non SU).
Well, that is all from me today, be sure and come by tomorrow for a new OCC challenge, I am the hostess for the next two weeks!
Talk to you soon!

CC356......Quilty Hello

Happy Thursday Peeps!
Today I am sharing a card I made using the color challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers.
The colors to use are Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Basic Gray and neutral of ivory or white.
I have to say right off, my blue is not Island Indigo, I thought it was when I pulled it out and started my quilt block, but discovered later when I got out my Indigo card stock out that it was not. I didn't want to re-do my quilt block so I just went with it.
I have been making a bunch of these quilt block cards lately, I have some more to show you at a later date, they are so fun. I just looked at some on the internet and  used them as a guide for making mine.
I used my SU grid paper to build the block on. Starting with 1 inch squares of the papers and lining them up as I pieced the block. Most of the squares are cut in half on a diagonal. After the quilt block is all done, just cut out your grid paper, trim the edges and emboss, it works out great!

I used a couple of new items on here, the Lucky Limeade DSP is from the upcoming SAB as is the sentiment, is from a SAB set. I added some basic gray satin ribbon with an antique brad in the middle and tucked the sentiment under the edge of the bow.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks for coming by and we will talk again soon!

CCMC182......Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Hump Day Peeps!
Today I am sharing a card I made over the weekend using the sketch challenge on Create with Connie and Mary. I wanted to do a Valentine card so I pulled out my all time favorite stamp set, Stampin Up's Greeting Card Kids.
I used some retired DSP,  the Love Impressions Specialty Pack.
I used some of the silver and red glitter paper to make my hearts and the edge punch is the pinking hearts. I used the square lattice EF for the embossed piece on the bottom.
The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and is stamped with black stazon.

The little Valentine girl was stamped with black stazon onto white card stock, I then used my water brush to color her using ink from my ink pads. I used pretty in pink, real red and blush blossom ink. I added a highlight to the heart with my white gel pen.
I added two silver brads and a small bow to the heart on the sentiment flag.
Well, that is all from me thanks fro stopping by and we will talk again soon, if you have any questions be sure and let me know!
