Happy Saturday Peeps!!
It is time for another challenge over on the Our Creative Corner Blog. This week our challenge hostess is Sarah Gough from THinkING STAMPS and she has a fun challenge for us, A Red & Aqua Color Challenge.
She provided this picture for some inspiration:
Great colors, and I love those pictures!
I wanted to make a very CAS, (Clean & Simple) card, I needed a thank you card to mail to an online customer, so I didn't want it bulky at all.
I started with a base of Pool Party card stock, Love this new in color, and then followed that with some Poppy Parade card stock. I pulled out a new set from Stampin' Up called "Delicate Doilies". I stamped the doilies with Pool Party and Poppy Parade ink. I stamped off the Poppy Parade ink on a few and got a very pretty coral color.
I am not really pleased with my pictures of this card, it is so much prettier IRL, just couldn't get the colors to come out quite right. I added a rhinestone to the center of the doilies. The sentiment is from the "A Word for You." I stamped that with black stazon.
Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun challenge. I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it!
Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!
Vicki
Looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteLOVE aqua and red! This is awesome, Vicki!! I will play along this week and get the rules right this time ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful CAS card, Vicki! That poppy parade stamped off looks like a totally different color! Love the rhinestones for added interest and some texture!
ReplyDeleteSuper CAS card, Wendy. Terrific job with the challenge colors and now you've got me wanting that doily stamp set. I know how frustrating it is when you make a wonderful card and then the photos don't do it justice! But it looks lovely to me.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a wonderful weekend!
Hugs,
Linda
Very pretty card, Vicki! Those doily stamps are growing on me and I just love the look of this! I will try my hand at this one later today! TFS I love it!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, Vicki - what a wonderful use of the doily set! I hate when the photos don't come out right - drives me nuts. But your card is gorgeous even so!
ReplyDeleteVicki, I think your cardstock choices really work! I have to agree, my new favorite color is pool party! I think it really looks like Soft Sky! One of my favorites. The rhinestones do add a bit of sparkle, and I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat spin on this challenge! I like how much white space you left around the sentiment. Your stamps remind me of SpiroGraph, a drawing game I adored as a kid.
ReplyDeleteTotally gorgeous Vicki, it's been great being on the OCC team with you!
ReplyDeleteVicki, this is stunning! I love the CAS look, and the well-balanced layout! Hope you have a super week :)
