OCC Easel Card

Edited to Add-My directions for the easel drawer has been added to the bottom of this post.

Good Morning Peeps!! It is Saturday and that means it is time for another new challenge at Our Creative Corner.

This week I am the challenge hostess again. My challenge is to make an Easel card. I had such fun making my easel card. I used the tutorial here for my base card. I then decided it need something more and I had seen some made with a drawer so I decided to add one to mine. I searched around but couldn't find a tutorial for the drawer that was free so I created my own. It was really fairly simple and if any one is interested I can give you the measurements for the one I made just let me know.

Here is a picture of the card before adding the drawer:

I used a favorite set of mine, the Stampin' Up Greeting Card Kids stamp set. I used the little heart girl and made a very girly birthday card/gift holder. The drawer could hold some chocolates, a gift card or some jewelry. I used some pretty in pink card stock for my base and then some very vanilla card stock. The designer paper I used is from a retired pack. I used a MS punch for the bottom of the card and for the vanilla piece on the top of the drawer. I used some prima roses that I had in my stash and some pretty in pink satin ribbon. I added a vintage brad for the drawer pull.

I hope you’ll play along this week and have fun with this challenge! Be sure to check out the rest of the OCC design team creations! To play along, upload your creation to your blog or gallery, then leave a comment linking to your project over at Our Creative Corner so we can check it out. If you upload to SCS, remember to use keyword: OCCC.

Well, that is all from me for now, Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!
Vicki

Since I have had so many request for directions for the drawer I am adding them here.
Edited to Add the drawer directions:

To create the drawer for the easel card:
start with a 6-1/8 inch x 6-1/8 inch square of card stock
Score at 1 inch on all four sides. Use your bone folder to crease all scored lines
Cut up to the intersecting scored line on two sides.
Fold up to form the box and secure with sticky tape.
Your box should be a 4-1/8 inch square.
Next you will need make a sleeve to slide the box into.
Start with a piece of card stock 4-1/4 inches x 11 inches.
Score at 1 inch, 5-1/4 inch, 6-1/4 inch and 10-1/2 inches.
Crease all your scored lines with your bone folder.
Apply sticky tape to the 1/2 inch section of the scored card stock.
Attach the two ends together to form the sleeve.
Slide your box into the sleeve and attach your easel card to the top and decorate as desired.

Thanks everyone for all the positive responses!

Vicki

Vicki, this is just totally adorable! I always like your projects. Those gorgeous flowers really stand out on this project but I love your pretty bow and the soft colors and I like the punched border on the bottom of the focal panel. Nice! Also great job with the coloring and texture accents! Have a great weekend!
