OCC....Happy Birthday!
Hello Peeps and Happy Monday!!!
Today I am sharing a card i made with the challenge this week on the Our Creative Corner Blog. It's a "Three Musketeers" color challenge which actually means an analogous color scheme challenge. So we are to choose any 3 colors that are next to each other on the color wheel. I choose, Red, Orange and Yellow, which translates in my colors as, Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie and More Mustard. I have to admit, this is NOT my favorite card I have ever made, the colors are a bit much for my taste.
I used the SAB set Sweet Summer and water colored the flowers with the colors I choose. I also used some always artichoke for the leaves! The base of the card is Poppy Parade and I followed that with some pumpkin pie card stock and the DS paper from the Sweet and Sour Speciality Pack. I used a bit of more mustard that I had embossed with the square lattice EF, I cut the image out with my circle nesties and matted with a scallop circle nestie in poppy parade. I used some poppy parade ribbon and wrapped it around and tied a pretty bow. I was going to have the sentiment hang from the bow but couldn't get one I liked to work. So I just ended up stamping and using the word window punch and added it across the middle flower at the bottom. I finished it off with a few silver pearls and called it done!!
I have a mojo card to show you tomorrow that I like much better and this weekend will be a busy time on the blog, Saturday I will have my first item up as one of the new Design Team members on the Our Creative Corner Blog and the Paper Crafters Sample Design Team will be having a blog hop and of course the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, so be sure and keep an eye out for all the FUN!!!
Well, that is all from me today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!
Vicki
Well, Vicki, I'm not a huge fan of oranges or yellows but I have to say this is just gorgeous! You did a wonderful job with the 3 Muskeeteers challenge!
ReplyDeleteThe orange family is probably my least loved color, yet I found myself using orange several times this past week. Must be growing on me! Your card is beautiful and love seeing another way to use that set that is first on my Sale-a-bration freebie list!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Vicki! I love the colours, but I love bright colours. The watercolouring is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Lesley
if you don't like it, you can send it to me! i love it!
ReplyDeleteI love orange although it seems I rarely use it. Love this bold card!
ReplyDeleteLoving all the orange and your use of the set. Darling card.
ReplyDeleteI hate to disagree with you Vicki, but this card is fabulous! I love orange...it's so happy. I will admit that other than in the fall, it's not one of my "go to" colors. Food for thought. Thanks for pointing out the OCC challenge (I know that's part of the job description now.) Analogous colors schemes are my favorite...I hope I have time to play.
ReplyDeleteI love this card...very nice.
ReplyDeleteI looked in my cardstock and I don't even have orange in my stock, I think though I might buy some, you make orange look good.
As always...Very nice card.
