Masculine Birthday and a RAK

Hello peeps! Hope you all are ready for Christmas. I know this is a hectic time of the year and I so appreciate you coming by and commenting! I love to read the comments.

Next Friday, January 2nd, is one of my brothers birthdays and it feels good to already have his card done. I have seen several of these "cattail" cards around made with the SU set Inspired by Nature, and I wanted to give it a try and knew it would work well for a masculine card.

I stamped the grass image from the set on PTI white cardstock with artichoke ink. I used some scrap chocolate chip cardstock and my slit punch to make the cattails heads. I randomly placed the punched out piece onto the ends of the grass with some snail adhesive. The card base is chcolate chip cut 5 by 10 inches and folded in half. I used some always artichoke to layer along with a piece of DS paper from the SU Wintergreen pack, retired. the main panel is up on dimensionals as is the sentiment, which is from the SU set upsy daisy, I just love the sentiments in that set. I added a strip of chocolate chip that I had pierced on both ends and three brads. Simply, quick and masculine. I think he will like the card as he loves camping and fishing.

One more thing to show you today I received this fabulous card in the mail yesterday from Michelle Redman. Isn't it gorgeous!!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Stamping!!!

  3. Great masculine card. I don't make many masculine cards but should challenge myself. Love that technique for the cattails.
