Freshly Made Sketch....Whale

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches:

As you can see I took a bit of creative license with the sketch. I used one large flag instead of three smalls, but the basic idea is there.

I got this cute little Lawn Fawn stamp with matching dies recently and I thought it was perfect for this sketch. I stamped the two whales onto some white card stock and  colored with my copic markers. I then used the matching dies to cut them out. Same with the little heart.

I die cut a circle and added some DSP from the High Tide pack.
I popped up the whales and heart using some foam tape.
The sentiment comes from the same little set and I curled it around a bit to fit the circle and stamped using some Calypso Coral ink.
The large flag is made using a piece of paper from the same DSP and I hand cut the bottom and curled it up just a bit.
I added a bit of icicle stickles to the heart and a few silver sequins to finish it up.

Sweet Sunday.....Party Animal

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

I am using this sweet little stamp set I got from Avery Elle called Party Animal.
Isn't it cute? I love that little balloon dog.
I started by stamping the little dog image onto some white card stock with real red ink I then cut it out and set it aside.
The base of the card is white and all the DSP on here is from the retired "I Am Me" paper pack.

The DSP is matted with real red and Pool Party card stock.
The sentiment piece is also Pool Party card stock and I stamped the sentiment with black ink.
I then hand cut the end and curled it a bit.
The main image piece is made with my inverted scallop die and  circle die. I add the little pup to the circle with some foam tape. I then added some crystal effects all over the him. I finished it up with a few red sequins.

The little sentiment comes from the Petite Pairs set.
I die cut the image out with a circle die and matted with a petite scallop circle die using Strawberry Slush card stock.

The base of the card is white and then a layer of Strawberry Slush.

Crazy 4 Challenges.....Birthday Wishes

Happy Thursday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch challenge this week at Crazy 4 Challkenges.

This week it was a sketch challenge:

I flipped the sketch and decided to pull out a set I love and have not used in awhile.
Stampin Up Pleasant Poppies. I decided too make a bit of a vintage/grunge card.
I pulled out the retired French Script to use in the BG. I stamped the script using Crumb Cake ink, that was stamped of once before stamping on the paper.

I then stamped the poppies on using Black Stazon and colored with my water brush and ink pads.
I stamped the flowers again onto some scrap paper and colored the flower heads. I cut themout and added them over the base with some foam tape.

I used one of the new in colors for the flowers Tangelo Twist.
I then pulled out a new set to use for my  element across the bottom, I stamped the image from Butterfly Basics twice using Crumb Cake ink. I stamped the little postage image onto some scrap and cut out and added with more foam tape. I then sponged the image base using crumb cake too.
I added a small sentiment flag using the Petite Pairs stamp set.
I matted the image with Tangelo Twist card stock and then added to the base.

Well, thanks for coming by today!!

Paper Players.......Love

Happy Monday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge this week at The Paper Players.

Clean and Simple with the focus on the sentiment.

Not my usual style but I wanted to try. I decided to use some modeling paste on this card, which is popular right now and I had picked some up a few weeks back and had not opened.
I used the Stampin Up Hearts and stars Decorative Mask set to stencil on my hearts using the modeling paste. While still wet I sprinkled some extra fine glitter all over the hearts.
I then setit aside to dry while I made my diecut "love".

I used the retired Expressions thinlets and cut several loves from white card stock and then once using red glimmer paper.
I stacked up the white words gluing in between each layer and finished with the red glimmer paper.

You can see the height of the die cuts in this closeup and also get a glimpse of the modeling paste glittered hearts.

I then used a strip of DSP from the Stacked of Love pack and matted with someblack card stock that I embossed with a embossing strip, it is Stampin Up but I don't remember the name.
The red and black hearts are from a retired embosslit.

I think this fits the CAS with focus on the sentiment criteria perfectly.
Love how it turned out altho I did have to fight myself not to put any flowers on here...LOL!!

Sweet Sunday......You Float My Boat

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

I wanted to make a sweet little Valentine card and was going through some of my stuff and came across this MFT sailboat die I have had for awhile and have never used. I thought it would be perfect for this weeks sketch.
I first had to decide what DSP I wanted to use and I went to my new Stampin Up Stacked with Love pack and pulled out this pretty red stripe.
I love the red and crumb cake combo so that is what I decided to use for my card.
Tha base is Crumb cake card stock and then some Real Red and then the DSP.

The main panel is Real Red, Crumb Cake and White.

The boat is die cut with Crumb Cake and White. I die cut a Real Red circle to layer behind the boat.
The sentiment comes from my MFT  Pure Innocence Sailor stamp set.
I used my stamp positioner to line the sentiment horizontally.

I added a crumb cake little flag with a button and twine and then a few little hearts on the boat.
I think it turned out cute and I think hubby will like it too.

FMS......Birthday Wishes

Hello Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the Freshly Made Sketch.

I love this sketch and I thought I would use another new set from Stampin Up called Indescribable Gift.
I decided I would use the flower as part of the elements in the sketch.
I stamped the flower a few times onto some white card stock using Black Stazon ink.
I colored using my water brush and ink pads, I used Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral and Wild Wasabi ink along with just a bit of Chocolate Chip.

The base of my card is white card stock and then I used another piece of white and cut out a circle and then embossed with my dot EF.
I added one of the stamped and colored flower behind the circle cutout, centering it to get the largest flowers where I wanted them.
I then fussy cut out all the flowers and leaf sections again to add to the main image using dimensionals. I brought the buds and leaves out over the top of the circle.
I cut my scallop edges using one of the dies in the Adorning Edges and added them to the side of my embossed piece.
I then added this piece to the card front using some foam tape.
The small sentiment flag is from the retired Occasional Quotes  stamp set.
This card was a bit time consuming, but I really enjoyed the coloring and layering together..
This is such a beautiful stamp for coloring!

Sweet Sunday.....Thank you

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us this week
Designed by our own Barb Anders:

I was happy to get a small order on Friday from Stampin Up with this sweet single stamp called
Love is Kindness. I knew it was perfect for this sketch.

I started by stamping the image, minus the sentiment several times onto some Confetti Cream card stock. (I knew I wanted to layer up this image). I colored the flower heads with Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral using my water brush.
The leaves and stems are colored with Old Olive and I used Crumb cake on the paper around the stems and also for shading around the image.

The base of the card is Confetti Cream card stock followed by Basic Black and then a piece of DSP from the Typeset Specialty paper pack. I matted the image with black and coral and used another piece of coral for the slanted piece behind the main image.

The sentiment is from the SAB Lotus Blossom set. I used my 1 inch and 1-1/4 inch punches.
The image is added to the card base with dimensionals. I then cut out some of the tulip heads and added them over the main image with more dimensionals. I also cut and extra piece of the paper wrap and added that over the base with dimensionals as well. I then went back into the image and added a bit of white with my chalk pen. I added several small pearls around the image and in the top corner of the image panel.

SplitCoast Color Challenge......Birthday Wishes

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made yesterday using the Color Challenge this week on SplitCoastStampers.

Love this combo, Blushing Bride, Rich Razzleberry and Mossy Meadow.

I wanted to color so I pulled out this beautiful Stampin Up set called SweetBriar Rose, it is a single stamp and one of my favorites from this catalog.

I stamped with black stazon onto some Confetti Cream card stock.
I colored with my water brush using Rich Razzleberry and Blushing Bride for the flowers, I really like how these two colors look together when water colored.

Does this sketch look familiar to you?
I used this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge again for my card. It is a great one for this large image.

I used the Petite Pairs stamp set for my sentiment and I added some dotting and shading around my image. One of the flowers is colored a second time, cut out and popped up for some dimesion.
I added some crystal gems to my flower centers.
I used two different embossing folders in the background, which was also the dessert option on the color challenge (dry embossing).

I am also linking this to the challenge this week at Seize the Birthday:

I opted out of the "toppings" option and just did a Birthday theme.

Well, that is all from me today. Thanks for stopping by!

The sentiment comes form the Best of Love stamp set and I stamped using black ink.

I added some twine and a heart button from my stash and then a couple of black brads in the top corner.

Sweet Sunday....Hello

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

I love this sketch, a great one to start out the new year!

I got this amazing Impression Obsession Snowy Branch Cardinal stamp for Christmas.
I love it and could not wait to ink it up.
I knew it would be perfect for this sketch,
I stamped the image onto some confetti cream card stock and colored it using my water brush and ink pads.
I used real red, cherry cobbler, soft suede and a bit mustard for the beak.

The base of the card is Cream card stock and then a layer of Early Espresso and the DSP I used is from a retired SU pack called Candlelight Christmas. I wanted a winter feel to my card but not Christmas. I used my white gel pen to color in the snow and added some stickles over it. It really sparkles but I could not capture it in the pic.
The little hello comes from the SU Hello December stamp set.

We are saying goodbye to a couple of our Sweet Sunday stampers this week.
No longer with us is
Karen Motz-a sweet friend who always, always inspired and encouraged me.
and
Jackie Pedro-a totally awesome, generous friend who I aspire to be like.

Sending Love and Sympathy

Happy New Year's Day Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made recently for a friend who had a death in the family.

Making these kind of cards are never fun and I always wish when I sit down to make one that I had several made up in reserve. I need to try and do more duplicates when making cards so I have them when needed.

I am kinda hooked on this color combo, Real Red and Crumb Cake. I decide to go simple with this one. I pulled out my Stampin Up set called Love and Sympathy and got with it.

I colored the flower image using my markers, Real red and Crumb Cake and then stamped onto Confetti Cream card stock. I stamped the sentiment using Crumb Cake ink.

The base of the card is Crumb Cake and then another layer of the same that I embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper EF.

The main image is matted with Real Red card stock. I added a strip of DSP from the Flashback paper pack. I used some Real Red 3/8" Satin Ribbon around the middle and tied a pretty bow.
I added this piece to the base using some dimensionals.

Well, that is all for today, thanks for stopping by!
