Splitcoast Color Challenge.....Birthday Wishes

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the color challenge this week at SplitCoastStampers.

The colors to use are Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Calypso Coral. the dessert option is water coloring.

I pulled out my Stampin Up single stamp called Sweetbriar Rose. I love this vintage beauty! I did sneak another color into my card that is not in the challenge, I used some Pear Pizzazz for my leaves.
The image is stamped onto some water color paper with black stazon and colored using my aqua painter and ink pads. I used Calypso Coral for the rose and then Pear Pizzazz for the leaves. I colored around the image with Pool Party ink and then darkened it up using the Bermuda Bay ink.
I stamped the flower image a few more times to layer it up. This technique is called Paper Tole and I really love the effect.
Here is a side shot where you can see the layers better.

The base of the card is Pool Party and then I used a layer of Bermuda Bay. The next layer is another piece of Pool Party that I embossed with the Perfect Dot EF. I then added a small bit of DSP from the Flashback paper pack.

I then cut a large flag using more Bermuda Bay card stock. I added the image piece to the front using dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the retired Occasional Quotes stamp set and is added under the raised leaves, don't you like the leaves hanging over the sentiment piece like that?
I added a few tiny basic pearls around the flowers and to the flower centers. It really adds some sparkle IRL.  The pic does not do the pearls justice.

Sweet Sunday Sunshine

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

I was bit perplexed by this sketch when I first saw it, what to do?
Of course I wanted to use the flower element, you all know my love of flowers.
I had just gotten this new set by Just Rite called Stitched Sunflowers so I pulled it out and stamped both sizes of the sunflower and the leaves onto some scrap Confetti Cream card stock and colored them up.
I cut them out and layered them up to make my big Sunflower.

The base of the card is Early Espresso and then some Confetti Cream card stock and the DSP I used is from a retired pack.
I then did another layer of Early Epresso and then a piece of Crumb Cake card stock. I then pierced all around this layer using my piercing tool and mat pack.
I die cut a large circle and cut it in half. I added it to the crumb cake layer. I then used some of the SU 1-1/4 inch burlap ribbon and  cut it down a bit and frayed the edges and added it to the layer with some sticky tape. I added the Sunflower image and stamped the sentiment onto the circle piece. I did not like the look of the sentiment, it seemed to be lost on the circle. So I decided to stamp it again and make a sentiment flag, you can still totally see the circle back there right?
I finished it up with some stick back gold pearls.

Now let's see what the rest of the girls did with this fun little sketch:

FMS......Birthday Wishes

Happy Thursday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at The Freshly Made Sketches Blog.

Sweet Sketch!
I decided to pull out a much neglected set Stampin Up's Regarding Dahlia.
I stamped the image three times  onto some Pink Pirouette card stock using black stazon ink.
I then colored with my water brush and pink pirouette and strawberry slush ink. I cut the image out and layered it up. I then used my Wink of Stella pen to add some shimmer to the petals. I seriously love that pen the shimmer is amazing IRL, I could not capture it that well with my pics.

The base of the card is PTI white card stock and then a layer of Pink Pirouette and then more white. The DSP strip on here is from retired pack and then I used more Pink Pirouette to make the sentiment banner.
The sentiment is from the Four You stamp set and is stamped with Strawberry Slush ink.
The dots across the bottom come from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set and I stamped with Pink Pirouette ink.

I added a small sequin star that is from the In Color Sequin Assortment.

A Million & One Thanks

Happy Hump Day!!

Here is another card I made yesterday.
this one I made just for fun.
I used the fun new DSP from Stampin Up called Back to Black. I love black and white cards and that was my jumping off point for this one.

I have had the little A Million and One stamp set since some time last year and had never inked it up. So I pulled it out for my sentiment on here, It is really the only stamping I did on this card.
I stamped the sentiment with Black Memento ink onto some white card stock and used a circle die to cut it out
The doily behind the sentiment is from MFT. I made a couple of white rolled roses to use on the sentiment circle. I cut a leafy swirl, another MFT die, with black card stock and cut it up a bit to tuck in behind the flowers.

The base of the card is white and then a layer of basic black and then a piece of the DSP. I matted another strip with black for the side piece. I used one more piece of the same DSP and cut a stripe and flagged the bottom edge. I added five little black flags down the under side of the flag piece.
I added a few rhinestones to the side little flags Kinda looks a little crooked in the pic but it is not.

Color Challenge.....Thank You Blossoms

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!

I was off work today and since it is a scorcher here is Southwest MO, I decide I would spend some time at my stamping table.
I took a peek over at Splitcoast at this week's Color Challenge and was elated to find the challenge was called "All Abloom" and we had alot of colors to choose from.

and

Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, Pistachio Pudding and Strawberry Slush, choose any three or choose them all. The neutral this week is white.

I choose Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding and Lost Lagoon.

I love the leaves in the Stampin Up Kinda Eclectic  and I decide to pair them up with another fave set from Stampin Up called Stipple Blossoms. I inked up the flower base with Strawberry Slush ink and stamped it off once on scrap paper before stamping on my whisper white card stock. I stamped the overlay to the flower with Strawberry Slush ink full strength. The leaves are stamped with Pistachio Pudding ink and then all the flower and leaves are hand cut out with my paper snips. I stamped the sentiment from the Wetlands stamp set onto more whisper white and used a circle die to cut out. I then arranged my leaves and roses around the circle.

The base of the card is PTI white card stock and the Lost Lagoon DSP is from the Moonlight pack.
I added a small strip of Lost Lagoon card stock down the edge of the DSP.
I added the center piece to the card base with some dimensionals. The edges are slightly over the edge of the card base on both sides, and I am OK with that.
I finished off with a row of basic pearls on the lost lagoon card stock strip. I did keep the BG on my pretty clean and simple so that the pretty leaves and flowers could be the "stars".

Sweet Sunday......so sweet of you

Happy Sunday Peeps!!!

So happy to be back with my Sweet Sunday girls after a wee hiatus.

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

I pulled out another new set from Stampin Up with a matching Punch called Beautiful Bunch. From the first time I saw this set in the catalog I have been thinking about making a sunflower with it. Sunflowers, one of my fave flowers of all time, just say summer time to me. I stamped the flower with Hello Honey ink onto so saffron card stock twice and punched out. I stamped a second flower with Early Espresso for my sunflower center. I then used another flower in the set for the leaves stamped with Mossy Meadow on Always Artichoke card stock.

The base of the card is Crumb Cake and then a layer of rustic white and then the DSP is from a new pack called Flashback. I added a strip of Always Artichoke that I embossed with the Decorative Dots EF.
The sentiment comes from a new hostess set called Hello There.
I added some twine for the side element in the sketch and then added the sentiment panel and the flower to the card with foam tape. I finished with a few gold sequins.

Now let's see what the rest of the girls did with this fun little sketch:

Corner Garden Warmest Wishes

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a quick card I made yesterday using the Stampin Up Corner Garden Stamp.
This is actually just a portion of the stamp, I trimmed off the top portion to make my square card.

I stamped the image with Versmark ink onto Crumb Cake card stock. I then embossed using white embossing powder. I colored the image with my aqua painter and ink pads.
I used Strawberry Slush, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay and Wild Wasibi inks.
I matted the image with Cherry Cobbler card stock.

The sentiment here comes from the Blooming with Kindness Stamp set.
I added a few basic rhinestones to the centers of a few flowers. Another simple and easily mailable card.
Adding this to the challenge this week at Seize the Birthday

Thinking of You

Hello Peeps!!

Here is the second card I made yesterday, this is a super simple, easily mailable card.

I used a couple of stamp sets for this card, Work of Art, borrowed from a friend and the World of Dreams. This is another set I loved when first seeing the new catalog, I love the silhouette images in this set, I am sure you will be seeing more with this set.
I was trying to create a "sunset feel" with this card, I used daffodil delight, pumpkin pie and real red. I stamped the stripe twice with each color, once full strength and then again without inking,

I stamped the silhouette image three times using some memento black ink onto whisper white card stock.
I matted with daffodil delight and then basic black card stock. I added it to the white base using some foam tape.
The sentiment comes from the Four You stamp set. I added a small half circle with a black brad at the bottom for a little visual interest and also to cover the fact the middle image does not come to the bottom of the panel. :)
You know I was not interested in the Work of Art stamp set when I first saw it, but now.......I made need to get it.
What do you think? Do you like this card?
Leave me comment if you have some time, I need the encouragement.....LOL!!

Sweetbriar Rose

Hello Peeps!!

So sorry for the long silence here on the ol' blog, I have been in quite the stamping funk lately, I have no mojo and almost no desire to stamp, even tho I have a big box of new goodies, I just haven't wanted to do any stamping. I have however been busy with other crafting projects and I think sometimes I tend to get obsess with something new and that occupies all my free time.

Anyway I decide today to clean up my stamp table and then I thought I would stamp and color this sweet flower.  It is a single stamp in the Stampin Up catalog called Sweetbriar Rose. I loved it the moment I spotted it in the catalog.
I stamped with black stazon and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads.
I keep it pretty simple since my mojo is on vacation.

The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs stamp set. I added a little flag and a vintage button with twine.
Hope you like it, I have one other card I made as well and I will show that to you tomorrow.
Thanks for hanging in with me during my long absence hopefully I will be back in the swing of things here soon.
