FMS.......pssst....

Hello Peeps!!

Popping in here quickly to share a card I made using the sketch this week on the Freshly Made Sketches Blog.

Here is the fabulous sketch:

I love this single stamp from Stampin Up called "Blessed Easter", the tulips are so fun to color. I masked off the sentiment and then stamped the tulips three times, once being on scrap paper and colored with real red, daffodil delight and tangerine tango and I used garden green for the stems and leaves.

The DSP I paired my image with is the new Retro Fresh pack, I love the colors in this pack, it may be my favorite from the Occasions Mini.
The base of the card is Baked Brown Sugar card stock and then a layer of  tangerine tango and then the DSP. I made my center banner piece with tangerine and more DSP. I hand cut my banner as I haven't gotten the new dies yet, but they are on the way.
The image is cut with a circle die and then matted with a circle of Baked Brown Sugar card stock that I distressed up a bit.
The sentiment is from the "Happy Watercolor" stamp set and is so fun, it is like it is saying there is a secret over here, look inside! Maybe there is........will have to see about that!

Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by!!

Sweet Sunday......Happy

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

It is Sweet Sunday Sketch Day

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us today:

I pulled out another fun new set I got from Stampin Up's Occasions Mini, this one called  "So Very Grateful". Another great flower set that makes me Happy, hence the sentiment...You can never have to much Happy which comes from the "Yippee Skippee" stamp set.

I stamped the image onto some white card stock with black stazon and then stamped again onto some scrap. I pulled colors from my DSP. The base of the card is Crisp Cantaloupe and then a layer of Basic Black and then the DSP comes from the "Sweet Sorbet" pack that will be available in the upcoming SAB catalog for free with a 50.00 dollar order!
The colors I used on the flowers are Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party, Pistachio Pudding and Summer Starfruit. I then edged a bit with crumb cake ink.
I colored the three main flowers again on the scrap piece and cut out and mounted over the the base with some dimesionals. Here is a little close-up of the flowers:

Ain't they sweet???!!!!!

The sentiment was stamped with black and I washed a bit of cantaloupe across the happy. I matted the main piece with more Crisp Cantaloupe  and then my strips are made with Summer Starfruit, Basic Black, and Pool Party card stock and then embossed with another SAB item, "Decorative Dots" Embossing Folder.
I finished off with some basic pearls in different sizes.

Now lets see what the rest of the team did with this fun sketch

Valentine Owl Treat Holders

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing some fun little Valentine Owl Treat Holder I made this week.
I used a tutorial I found on Becky Robert's Blog HERE.

I made these up to give to some friends when we meet up for some stamping fun in a few days.
They are super easy to make up, I used some real red and basic gray card stock for mine, but these would be cute in a lot of different colors.

I used a couple of retired Valentine DSP's and the body of the owl is embossed using the Fancy Fan EF.
I need to get a few more done before the get together.
Hope you enjoy these.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Merry Monday......Merry & Bright

Happy Thursday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a cute little ornament card I made using the challenge this week on the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Blog.

I decide to make a little shaped card, so I pulled out my Stampin Up Floral Frames Dies.
I used some Crumb Cake card stock folded in half to cut out the base.
The DSP is from a retired pack, don't know the name.

I stamped the cute little image from the Best of Snow stamp set onto some vanilla card stock and lightly colored using my aqua painter and ink pads.

The sentiment is from the Endless Wishes stamp set. I added a button and some twine to the sentiment piece and then used some retired 1-1/4" chocolate chip striped  to the top.

Hope you like it!

Splitcoast Color Challenge.......HI

Happy Wednesday peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the color challenge this week on Splitcoast.
I messed up a bit on the colors:

Somewhere between looking at the challenge and getting the colors out to make my card I thought I needed Raspberry Ripple instead of Primrose Petals. The rest is fine, Blushing Bride and Wild Wasabi but I used the wrong color. I didn't figure it out til I was uploading over on Splitcoast, but I just put it up anyway. I have been fighting a bit of the stomach bug and not feeling the best, not sleeping so I just blamed it on that.

I had made another shaped card this week, I will pot it tomorrow, so I had the Stampin Up Floral Frames dies, out so I decide to make this card a shaped one as well.

I am so loving the Peaceful Petals Stamp set, I can't stop using this flower.

The DSP I used is from the Birthday Basic pack. I sorta messed up my sentiment when stamping and had to cove it with another piece of card stock, hence the flagged ends on the white piece. I outlined my flower image using the Chalk Marker. I decided to stop there, I had already messed up a couple of times so better not risk ruining the whole thing.

Paper Players........Valentine for my Friend

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!
Thanks for stopping by today, I have a fun card to share with you. I made this card using the challenge this week on the Paper Players Blog

Clean and Simple One Layer Valentine.
Well, we all know that I like layers, but I wanted to give this challenge a try.
This stamp, a single stamp from Stampin Up called "People Like You", was not made to be a Valentine stamp per say but I think it works. I wanted to make a special card of a friend that would convey my feelings.
This is the perfect one, in my opinion.
This is a fun stamp to color and a bit challenging too. I worked a bit on the flowers and they are nice but not exactly the way I want but since I used regular card stock and not watercolor paper  I could not work the ink as much.
I stamped the image onto white card stock with black stazon and colored using my aqua painter and Strawberry Slush and Primrose Petals with a bit of Crushed Curry in the centers.
I used Pear Pizzazz for the stem and used Crumb Cake around the image and sentiment.

I used my Stampin Up black marker to make the little "scribbles and dots" around the outside.
The "love" is from the Best of Love stamp set and I used my stamp a ma jig to center it. I like how this turned out and I think my friend will like it but I do miss my layers and ribbons an embellies.

Let me know what you think.

Dynamic Duos.........Love You Much

Happy Monday Peeps!!!

today I am sharing a card made using the color challenge this week on the Dynamic Duos Blog.

Gorgeous soft color combo. I seldom use Pink Pirouette and it was a nice change.
I love these cute little flowers in the Peaceful Petals stamp set. I stamped them with black stazon ink and colored using my aqua painter and pink pirouette ink pad. I then pulled out my Pink Pirouette marker to add more color to them. I did slip in a bit of yellow in the flower centers.

The base of my card is white card stock and then a layer of Pool Party and the DSP is from the retired Love Impressions pack.
I then used a paper doily and I die cut a heart using the heart framelits and my Big Shot. I then embossed it using the Square Lattice EF. I cut out my two flowers and added them to the heart with some dimensionals.
The sentiment is from the Best of love stamp set and is stamped with black ink onto white and then cut and curled and attached to the card with glue and a couple of dimensionals.
I finished it off with a basic pearl in each corner. Simple and sweet.

Sweet Sunday.....Birthday Wishes

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

It is Sweet Sunday Sketch Day

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us today:

I pulled out my pack of Retro Fresh DSP to use on this card, I LOVE the colors in this pack.
The base of my card is Soft Suede card stock followed by a layer of Very Vanilla and then a layer of the DSP.
Next came the circle element of DSP and I matted that with more Soft Suede card stock. Then the next layer of DSP also matted with Soft Suede card stock.

The sentiment flag piece is Very Vanilla and the sentiment comes from the Four You stamp set, I used my stamp a ma jig to make it into two lines.
The pretty little posies come from the Stampin Up Simple Stems stamp set. I stamped them with Tangerine Tango, Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight. I cut them out with my paper snips and added them to the sentiment piece with some dimesionals. I used the Owl Punch for my leaves in Soft Suede. I then added some pearl flourishes to finish it off.

Now lets see what the rest of the team did with this fun sketch

Merry Monday......Warm Wishes Snowman

Happy Friday Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge this week on the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Blog. ( I am going to try and play along more with this challenge, I got several new Christmas goodies this past year and never got the time to use them.)

The challenge this week is Snowman or Snow People:

This paper from Stampin Up is one I love and hardly got to play with this past Season, it is called
"Winter Frost"  The colors in this paper are so pretty.
My snow man is not a SU stamp but I just love her.
I paper pieced her scarf and used my aqua painter to color her hat, face and the shadows.

The base of the card is some Brush Silver card stock followed by a layer of Coastal Cabana and then the DSP.
I added a strip of Silver Glimmer paper across the middle and edged them with more Coastal Cabana. This card really shines IRL!!
The sentiment below the snowgirl comes from "Snow Day" stamp set and I used my stamp a ma jig to line it up and used just a portion of  stamp.
I added two button snowflakes that I cut the shank off  of to the sides using some glue dots.

Hope you like her, I think she turned out pretty cute!!!

Paper Players........Hello There!

Happy Wednesday Peeps!!!

Today I have a very fun very Springy card to share with you!
I used the color challenge at The Paper Players this week for this card.

Gorgeous Spring Colors!
I am using a stamp that I am over the moon about. It is the "Blessed Easter" Single Stamp from Stampin Up. It is the new Occasions mini and I had so much fun coloring the tulips.
The stamp has a saying to the side of the tulips, I just masked that off with a post it note and stamped the tulips twice side by side and then another time on a scrap piece of card stock.  I used all of the challenge colors on the flowers and BG image. The tulip heads are colored with Primrose Petals and Crushed Curry and the leafs and stems are colored with the Pear Pizzazz. I then used the Coastal Cabana to outline around the flowers.

The tulips on the scrap piece was colored and then cut out and added to the round circle piece with dimesionals.
The sentiment is from the Timeless Talk stamp set. ( A set I have never inked, shame on me)
I used a base of white and then a layer of Coastal Cabana and then the two DSP's are from the Retro Fresh and the Fresh Prints paper packs. Interesting side note here, the lighter piece of DSP is from the Retro Fresh pack and the colors on the pack list Coastal Cabana as a coordinating color but this piece is much lighter, but it still matches. Anyway, just saying!
Hope you like it as much as I do, I am really enjoying the new flower sets. This one will no doubt be used alot here. I already have more tulips colored in some other colors so look for that to show up soon.

Thanks for stopping by!

Color Challenge......Hello

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!

Today i am sharing a card I made using the color challenge this week on SplitCoastStampers.

The colors are:

Tempting Turquoise, Coastal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe. Such a pretty combo for this dreary Winter's Day. The dessert option is Framing~~Hand Drawn, Stamped or Cut~~

I pulled out my new Peaceful Petals Stamp set, Love it! I stamped a couple of the flower stamps onto some scrap card stock and water colored with my aqua painter and the Crisp Cantaloupe ink. I did slip a bit of Summer Starfruit into my card for the flower centers.

I then cut a 5 inch base using my Naturals card stock and then cut a rectangle in the  center to make my frame. The first of a few....lol!!!
I took a piece of card stock and sponged tempting turquoise and coastal cabana across it. I added that piece to the inide of my card behind the rectangle frame.
I had originally thought I would add my flowers to the sponged piece, but changed my mind during the process of putting it all together. I cut a circle and embossed with the square lattice EF, one of my all time fave embossing folders. and then cut and added my flowers to the edge of that with some dimesionals.
The sentiment piece is from the Four You stamp set and is stamped with black stazon and hand cut out making the flag cuts at the end. I then punched a strip of crisp cantaloupe with the Scalloped Ribbon Edge Punch and added that to the sentiment piece.
I then used some pieces of DSP from the Retro Fresh pack to create a  "frame" around my card.
I finished it off with a few basic pearls.

I am also entering this one in the SUO Challenge to use new toys.

Hope you enjoy this one.

Sweet Sunday......You & Me

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

It is Sweet Sunday Sketch Day

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us today:

As you can see I flipped the sketch, well it is a mirror image with the flag panel on the opposite side.
I finally got some new goodies from the Stampin Up Spring Mini and I pulled some out to use on this card.

I love the new sentiment set called Perfect Pennants and that is where my "You & Me" come from.
I also used the new tag topper punch but it is mostly covered with my ribbon treatment.

The base of my card is Crumb Cake and then a layer of Coastal Cabana and then the DSP is from the new Fresh Prints pack. The flag is made from Coastal Cabana card stock and embossed with the Decorative Dots EF which will be available in the SAB catalog.

The little heart comes from the retired Heart to Heart Punch. I added a few sequins and a frosted embellishment to finish it all off.

Now lets see what the rest of the team did with this fun sketch

Sweet Sunday......Be My Valentine

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

It is Sweet Sunday Sketch Day
and with the new Year comes a few changes, one is that we are going back to a weekly schedule, meaning we will have a new sketch every Sunday and we are also welcoming a couple of new Sweet Sunday Stampers.

Here is the Sweet Sketch Karen has for us this week:

Is it too early for a Valentine?

I started my card with a base of Basic Black Card stock and then a layer of DSP  from the Modern Medley pack. I then uses another strip of black that I embossed with a script EF and matted with some red glimmer paper and I used the pinking heart edge punch on that. The next layer is more DSP from the same pack and that is matted with more basic black. I made that layer into a banner piece.

The main piece is a rosette made form a strip of retired First Edition paper. I punched a heart using more of the red glimmer paper and added the "Be My Valentine" banner which comes from the single stamp of the same name. I just cut out the banner piece and added it across my hear with a few glue dots.
I got a bit carried away playing with the little hearts that came from the border punch, I added them randomly onto the polka dot flag piece and then used some crystal effects over the top. Kinda a cute little effect IRL. I finished my card off with a few red sequins.

Now lets see what the rest of the team did with this fun sketch:

Our new girls are first up:
