SSSC164....to my friend

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Time for a new Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

What a fun sketch huh? Love the tilted tag!!
I do have to say I wavered back and forth a bit on what to do with this sketch but eventually settled on this cute little single stamp from Stampin Up called  "Life Shared".
I stamped the image onto some very vanilla card stock with black stazon and colored with my water brush and ink pads. I used real red, wild wasabi, daffodil delight, island indigo, crumb cake, blush blossom and basic gray.

The base of the card is very vanilla card stock and the DSP is from the Summer Smooches pack. I used real red card stock for the die and I embossed the die cut with my square latice EF.
The sentiment is from the "Friendly Phrases" stamp set.

Be sure and check out what the rest of the team has made with this sweet sketch:

Karen has Blog Candy for one lucky participant this week, a  $35.00 dollar gift voucher to My Favorite Things, so be sure and play along and link your card up on Karen's blog, I would love to see what you make with this fun sketch!

411....Christmas Cheer

Hello peeps!!

It is that time again, time for another new sketch challenge on the Stamping 411 Blog.

Here is this week's sketch:

I have to admit this sketch gave me fits, trying to figure out the squares, took me a bit of time, good thing they have some suggested sizes on the 411 Blog!

I did get to have some fun with a few more new goodies, some items from the Stampin Up Holiday Mini that will be available in just a few short days.
Isn't that image so cute? It is from the new "Wonderful Winterland" set. It has the most adorable images and the are perfect for doing a bit of coloring!!

The sentiment is from the "Sweet Essentials" stamp set.
There is a bit of  some new DSP peeking out on here too, the blues you see on here are from the "Festivals of Prints" paper stack.
The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler and then the next layer is Very Vanilla and the Cherry Cobbler DSP is from the "Be of Good Cheer" pack.
I added a few silver pearls, non SU, on the corners and it is finished.
Be sure and head over to the 411 Blog to see the rest of the operators creative takes on this fun sketch.

FMS......Welcome Baby

Happy Thursday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card made using this weeks sketch on the Freshly Made Sketch Blog.

I pulled out this fun set from Stampin' Up called "Moving Forward", such a cute little set, all the images are adorable. I love this little sail boat and it is perfect for the baby card I needed this week.
I keep it Clean & Simple again, and also bright & cheery.
The base is daffodil delight and the DSP is from the Summer Smooches pack.
I used some Island Indigo for matting the DSP and the main image.

The sentiment is from the retired "Short & Sweet" stamp set. I stamped it with Island Indigo ink directly onto the base.
I added some whisper white ribbon around the DSP.

That is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

With Sympathy

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!

Another Sympathy card, I actually made a couple of these, kinda like the style and color pallet on here.
I used Primrose Petals for the base and the DSP on here is from the Fan Fair paper pack.
It is funny that this in color matches the papers in this pack so well, but is not listed as a matching color in the catalog. I do love this In Color, Primrose Petals, it is such a pretty rosy pink.

The stamp set used here is Serene Silhouettes and it is inked with Old Olive and Primrose Petal markers.

I used very vanilla card stock for matting the DSP and for the lacy looking trim, which is a edgelit die from the "Finishing Touches" die.
I used a sentiment from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set and a I added some basic pearls to the flowers and top corners of the card.
I made a "scrunchy" bow and added an antique bard to the center.

The main image is matted with more Primrose card stock that is die cut with the Labels Collection Framelits and I embossed with the Lacy Brocade EF, which will be available August 1 from the Holiday Catalog.

That is it from me, thanks for coming by and
 HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Dynamic Duos....Sending Sympathy

Happy Monday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using this week's challenge on the Dynamic Duos Blog.

The colors this week are Poppy Parade and Basic Black, with a dessert option of using punches.

I had a sweet Etsy customer ask for some Sympathy cards, so I decide to use this challenge to make one of them. As you will recall I have been working on my Clean & Simple card making skills.
I think this qualifies, I did struggle a bit with this one, thinking it needed "something", finally I just decided to leave it as is.

I used the Stamping Up "Stippled Blossoms" stamp set for this beautiful rose. I achieved the two colors of red  by stamping off the base part of the rose once then added the shaded part of the rose with full strength color.
The sentiment on here comes from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set and is stamped with black stazon ink. I used my 1-1/4 inch circle punch to punch out the sentiment and the black mat is made with the 1-3/8 inch circle punch.
There is a couple of sneak peeks on here from the new Stampin Up Holiday Catalog, I used the new Window Frames Framelit Dies for the white base the flower is mounted on. I embossed this piece with the Woodgrain EF.

I was surfing the web over the weekend looking at some of the pics and highlights people had posted about the SU convention and I happened upon this picture of one of the many, many display boards:

See the card I put a circle around?
I believe that is one of my cards!
Silly I know but it made my day!
I know thousands and thousands of cards are made and sent to SU, I think this one was made it's way to them from some of my Control Freaks swaps, but I still felt a bit proud!
Anyway, no big deal I know to anyone but ME!!! So forgive me!! :)

That's all for today, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Merry Christmas Stockings

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a set of  really easy and fun little note cards I made using a fun new set and also a couple of sneak peeks from the upcoming Stampin Up Holiday mini catalog.

I loved this new set from Stampin Up called "Open Sleigh", not so much for the sleigh image, which is cute, but not as cute as these old fashion looking stockings!! Is it not just the cutest thing??? I mean seriously that stocking plus the old time looking font is why I bought this set.

I stamped the stocking with Always Artichoke and Cherry Cobbler ink onto some Very Vanilla card stock.

The sentiment is stamped with some black stazon ink.

I then used some of the new Core'dinations card stock in Cherry Cobbler. This is some fun new "sandable" card stock that you can use to  create and antique or distressed look.
I embossed one with the new Lacy Brocade EF and the new Woodgrain EF.

Then just lightly sand and the inside layer comes through, a monochromatic color.

Cool huh?
I just love how these cute little Christmas note cards turned out. They are quite simple and easy to make but look great and the best part you could whip out several of these in no time to use for holiday gift tags!

Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!

411.....Hello dear friend

Hello Peeps!!!

It is time for another new sketch challenge over on the Stamping 411 Blog.

This is a fun and easy layout to work with with, I loved it.
I pulled out this awesome new set from Stampin Up called "Moving Forward", what a great set, the images are so cute, can work for adults or children and with every set sold Stampin Up donates $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities, what could be better than that?

The tricycle is stamped with black stazon onto white card stock and then matted with a real red scallop circle.
I added two silver brads for accents on the wheels and popped up the basket.

I used some real red polka dot DSP and added some real red ribbon for more accents. Don't you love that argyle EF? The base of the card is real red also.
Cute, easy and fast!
Be sure and head over to the 411 Blog to see what the rest of the operators made with this sketch.

BOO

Happy Thursday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing another card I made using some more sneak peek items from the upcoming Holiday Catalog from Stampin UP.
You all know I love Halloween and making Halloween cards so this was actually the first card I made when my new goodies arrived.
I LOVED this cute little single stamp called "Frightening Feline" when I first saw it in the upcoming mini. There is so many great items in that catalog. I certainly didn't get all I wanted out of the mini on my first order, there is so much I WANT from that catalog. It was hard to choose what to order first.

I stamped this cutie onto some very vanilla card stock with black stazon. I then die cut it out with a new die, this one is called Window Frames, very cute huh? The catalog shows them with the rounded part to the top but I rotated mine for this kitty. I then backed it with a round piece of tangerine tango.

The "boo" on here is from the retired Billboard sizzlit strip.
The DSP is also new from the Howlstooth &Scaringbone paper pack, you are gonna love that pack.
The gray striped ribbon is also new it is 1/2 inch wide satin, so cool!
I added two rhinestones to the kitty for eyes, I colored them green with a permanent marker and added a small bow with some 1/8 inch taffeta ribbon.
Well, there you have it my first Halloween card of 2012.

Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Happy Wednesday Peeps!!

I also using some fun new items that will be available August 1st from Stampin Up's Holiday Mini Catalog.
I used the Perfectly Preserved stamp set and matching dies.
I am totally loving these.
And how about that new DSP that co-ordinates with this set, it is called Orchard Harvest.

The apples and one of the cute jar covers is stamped with Raspberry Ripple and the other jar cover is more mustard. You can also see another sneak peek and bit of the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.
The sentiment on here is from the Sweet Essentials set.
Well, thanks for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Cajun Craze Birthday Wishes

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!!

While waiting for my pre-order goodies from the upcoming Holiday mini to arrive later today, I am sharing a card I made awhile back.
This card uses the beautiful Stampin up set called "Blooming with Kindness".  I stamped the flower with cajun craze ink but stamped it off once onto scrap paper to make the image a bit softer. I used very vanilla card stock and stamped the sentiment with black stazon

The image is matted with cajun craze card stock and then with some crumb cake card stock the I embossed with the square lattice EF. I then matted that with more very vanilla card stock.

The DSP is from the Comfort Cafe paper pack. The base of the card is cajun craze card stock and the DSP is mounted with more cajun craze card stock.
The main panel is mounted onto the base with dimensionals. I added some very vanilla satin ribbon and a couple of gold brads.
Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Dynamic Duos...CAS

Happy Monday Peeps!!
Today I am sharing a Clean & Simple (CAS) card I made using the color challenge this week on the Dynamic Duos Blog

Love this soft subtle color combo.
I pulled out my Fashionable Hearts Embosslit die for this card, I don't think I have used it since getting it. I t sure makes some pretty hearts don't you think?
I die cut hearts with both colors, baja breeze and pink pirouette.
The base of the card is white and then a layer of baja breeze. I then embossed a piece of white card stock with the perfect dot EF, leaving about a 1 inch section  across the bottom.

The hearts are added to the card with dimesionals. I added a few basic pearls on the the pink hearts.
The sentiment on here is from the new Stampin Up set called "Sweet Essentials".
Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Along with the rest of the talented team, I am so honored to stamp along side these wonderful ladies!!

OK, on to the Sweet Sketch that Karen has for us this week:

So I am again using my favorite new stamp set, Stampin Up's "Pleasant Poppies".
I paired this set up with some Pumpkin Pie and a new in color, Summer Starfruit. I wasn't sure I would like this new in color when I first saw it but after using it a bit, it is growing on me.  :)

I stamped the poppies onto some white card stock with black stazon and colored with my ink pads and aqua brush. The base of the card is Summer Starfruit and the DSP on here is from the Patio Party paper pack. I used the new Argyle EF for the strip across the middle and matted that with some pumpkin pie card stock that was punched with the dotted ribbon border punch.
The sentiment is from the Friendly Phrases stamp set. I added some Summer Starfruit ribbon across the top and finished it with three pearls in the upper corner.

Stamping 411......Thank You

Happy Friday Peeps!
Time for another new sketch at the Stamping 411 Blog.

Here is our sketch for this week:

I played around with this one a bit before I came up with my card. Took me awhile to decide on something but finally made it work for me.
I used a couple of the new in colors, Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals. Love these new colors.
The DSP on here is from the Fan Fair pack and I think this piece works well with these two colors altho they are not any of the colors listed in the catalog that goes with this paper pack. Oh well! :)

The sentiment is from the Perfectly Penned stamp set and the flower is from the Everything Eleanor set.

I used one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits for the Sentiment Panel and the new Essentials Paper Piercing Pack that matched the die cut. I used it both on the inside and on the piece around the sentiment.
the doily I mounted the flower on is from the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits and the "lacey" border picking out from under the ribbon is one of the Finishing Touches Edgelits.

Be sure and head on over to the 411 Blog to see what the rest of the operators have done with this sketch, I hope you can play along with us and be sure and link up your creation over there for us all to see.

Hello Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card made using the sketch this week on the Freshly Made Sketches Blog.

I am using another fun new stamp set from Stampin Up called "Happy Hour".
I used a piece of DSP  from the "Floral District" paper pack for my color inspiration.
I stamped the drinks using rich razzleberry, daffodil delight and old olive onto some whisper white card stock. I used the same colors for the umbrellas in the drinks.

I matted the DSP and my main image panel with rich razzleberry card stock. The base of the card is so saffron and the next layer is also so saffron that I embossed with the fancy fan EF.
The old olive strip is embossed with the square lattice EF.
I added a few basic rhinestones to the umbrellas and at the bottom corner.

Paper Players....Color Challenge

Happy Sunday peeps!!!

The challenge this week at the The Paper Players is a beautiful color challenge:

I told you all last week that I had been working on doing some Clean and Simple designs. I gave it another go round with this challenge, not that I will always being doing CAS but I sure would like to develop that side of my card making.
I pulled out another favorite stamp set from the Stampin Up catalog called "Stipple Blossoms" for this card.
I achieved the two tones of the colors by off stamping the first stamp onto scrap paer and then onto my whisper white card stock. For the second step on these flowers I stamped the color at full strength.

The sentiment on here is from the "Blooming with Kindness" stamp set.

Be sure and visit The Paper Players Blog to see what the others did with these fun colors. Thanks so much for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!!
