Stamping 411.......Friend

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Time for another new sketch at the Stamping 411 Blog.

Here is our sketch for this week:

Nice sketch and lends it self so well to a Clean and Simple Design, which is not always my forte but I am working on it!

I pulled out a sweet little Stampin Up set called "Lean on Me"m such cute little images in this set.
I stamped the image onto some white card stock with black stazon and colored her with my aqua brush and ink pads. Very Easy with this one!

The base of the card is pool party card stock and then the next layer is Midnight Muse and then the DSP is from the Comfort Cafe pack.
I added Midnight Muse ribbon along the bottom and two basic pearls in the top corners.

Be sure and head on over to the 411 Blog to see what the others have done with this sketch

Happy 4th of July

Happy Wednesday Peeps!!

Funny how things creep on you.
It seems it is already the 4th of July.
Most of you that follow my blog and have followed it for sometime know that I love the 4th celebrations and that I generally make several Americana type cards to post here. I think this may be only the second one of this type I have made this year.
July has just gotten here way to fast and frankly the 4th almost passed by with out any acknowledgement here, so yesterday, in between the errands and the pre-holiday cooking I found a few minutes to make this card.
I did have the idea for this rolling around in my head for a few days, so it came together fairly quickly.
The base is Crumb Cake card stock and then I used Riding Hood Red, Confetti Cream and Night of Navy for the stripes. I embossed these with the square lattice EF.

I used my scallop and circle nesties for the center element. I then punched three stars with night of navy card stock and stacked them together using some dimensionals between each. I added a small cream star to the middle and then added a silver pearl to the middle.
I added two more small stars.
The sentiment is from the retired single stamp "God Bless America".

I thought I would take this time to show a few more of my non paper Americana projects that I have made this year:

Firecrackers made from old posts

I made a few sets of these, one for myself and the other for a couple of friends.

Flag Display Box, made from old fencing wood.

Star Display Box,
made with same old fencing, the stars are some old cast iron pieces I got at a local flea market:

I made several sizes of these.

My primitive American table display:

The rag rug is a treasured item that my Mom made many years ago.

And finally my teddies:

Years back, probably more than 15, I purchased an old quilt at an auction, it was tattered and had several torn places in it and I got it for practically nothing.
I had always thought I would use it to make some kinda of crafty items, well I finally did!
Love how these came out!

Hope you enjoyed these.

More Poppies

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!!

More "Pleasant Poppies"!!

I hope you are not tired of seeing this stamp, cos it is my favorite and I fear you will see much, much more of it. And this layout, I know I use it alot, I guess this would be my fall to layout, especially when I have a large focal panel, like this one.
I made this card using the color challenge this week on the Dynamic Duo Blog. This week is a special week on the Dynamic Duo, this month has 5 weeks in it and when this happens they choose one color and you choose one.

Their chosen color is Crumb Cake and I choose Pumpkin Pie for my color and of course I used white for the main image panel. I stamped the poppy image, well part of it, onto white card stock with black stazon.
I then colored with my aqua painter and pumpkin pie and crumb cake ink pads.

Did I say that I LOVE this stamp?? hehe!!
I used some retired pumpkin pie satin ribbon across the bottom. I am sad that SU retired all the satin ribbon, it is my favorite...pout! But no worries, I stocked up!!! :)
The sentiment on here is from the Stampin Up "A Word for You". I stamped with black stazon and used my 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" circle punches to make the sentiment piece. I added a few silver pearls (non SU) under the sentiment and to the image panel.
Thanks for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Merry Monday.......very merry

Happy Merry Monday peeps!!
Lesley asked me to stay on for another week on the Merry Monday challenges.
This month is a bit different as Lesley is taking a bit of a blogging break she asked us to choose our favorite past Merry Monday sketch and create a new card using it.
I picked sketch #8:

I couldn't let my time on with the Merry Monday sketches go by and NOT use my favorite stamp set of all time, The Stampin Up "Greeting Card Kids" set.
You all know how much I love this set and in particular this stamp from the set.
I stamped the sweet little Christmas girl, onto some white card stock with black stazon ink. I colored her using my aqua painter and ink pads. I die cut this out using the label Framelits die.

The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler card stock and I used a card from a Simply Sent kit, Everyday Elegance, I think,  for the DSP and pretty die cut edge. I actually cut up the card and added the DSP and die cut edge to my base, I then added some white card stock to the bottom and stamped my sentiment.

I then cut another piece from the card front of the Simply Sent card, the piece with the embossed dots and the stripes of cherry cobbler and white and added it just above the sentiment panel piece.......LOL does all that make sense? :)

I added the main image piece to the base with dimensionals and then added a few silver pearls to the top scallops.
I love how this card turned out, clean and simple but sweet and not to many layers or embellishments that would make it bulky for mailing.

Be sure and hop on over to Lesley's blog to see what the others did with this sketch.
Thanks so much for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Here is the sweet sketch that Karen has for us this week:

I pulled out a new set from Stampin Up that is a special purchase set called
"A Reason to Smile" this set is available the month of July for only $5.00 dollars with a $50.00 dollar purchase. Such a sweet set.
I stamped the flower three times onto some confetti cream card stock and colored with daffodil delight ink and using my aqua painter. I also used some wild Wasabi ink for the stems

the base of the card is daffodil delight and then a layer of the cream and the DSP is from the Summer Smooches paper pack. The Soft Suede DSP is from the retired Attic Boutique paper pack.
I made another "scrunchy" bow with some daffodil delight seam binding ribbon and added an antique brad to the center.
The sentiment is from the Fabulous Phrases stamp set.

OK, let's see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team, and Guest Designer has in store for us this week:
