OCC.....Shape Card Challenge

EDITED TO ADD: This would fit in a standard A2 envelope, the finished size is  4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches and the link to the template I found online:
SCOTTIE DOG

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!
It is time for another Our Creative Corner Challenge.
This week I am the hostess challenge and my challenge to you is:

"Show Us your Shape"~Shaped cards.
Anything but a square or rectangle.
You can find so many cute templates on the internet or use a die or cut file and your imagination and show us your shapes!!

A while back I found this cute little Scottie Dog Pattern, It is by Kim Hughes and was in the Card Creations magazine. It was my inspiration for this challenge.
I used some basic black card stock folded in half to make the Scottie dog. He folds at the ear and the tail.
I made a couple of the dogs to try out the pattern just plain, but decided after making the initial two that he might look nice embossed and so I gave it a try. I used the Stampin Up square lattice EF on just the front of the card pattern. I really like the look of the puppy embossed, it adds alot, I think.
I hand drew out his "scarf"  and then used some punches to make the "knot". I used a 3/4" circle punch for the middle of the knot and the two side pieces are from the Build a Blossom punch. I used some plaid paper from the Stampin Up Frost wood Lodge paper pack. To make his nose I used the small oval punch and trimmed it down by about half.  I added a small black rhinestone for his eye and the sentiment is from the Stampin Up "Friends Fur-ever" stamp set. I added a couple more black rhinestones to the sentiment piece.
I think they turned out very cute and they are really easy to do.

Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog
to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun challenge.
I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do, don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it!

Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

SC366.....Sending Love

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Hope your 1st week of January was a good one and you are ready for the weekend! We have started the New Year off with a bang here and I am pumped for the year to come, looking forward to good things!

Today I am sharing a card with you that I made using the sketch this week on Splitcoaststampers, you know I love a sketch challenge. This one was a fun one to work with.
This cute image comes from the Stampin Up hostess set called "Ain't Love Grand" . I stamped the image onto some whisper white card stock and then stamped it again onto my red and pink DSP. I then cut out the strips of the balloon alternating the red and pink and pieced the top of the balloon.
I colored the rest of the image with my aqua painter, I used More Mustard ink on the basket part of the hot air balloon and real red and pretty in pink on the hearts.

The base of the card is pretty in pink card stock and then I followed that up with some white and then my pink DSP. The next layer is a strip of pretty in pink card stock that I embossed with the square lattice EF. Then comes the real red and real red DSP panel that is added to the base on a slight angle. I added the main panel to the card with some dimesionals. Next up is the whisper white satin ribbon and bow. The hearts across the bottom of the main panel is punched using the Stampin Up Heart to Heart punch. I embossed these hearts as well with the square lattice EF. Finished it up with a few silver pearls (non SU).
Well, that is all from me today, be sure and come by tomorrow for a new OCC challenge, I am the hostess for the next two weeks!
Talk to you soon!

CC356......Quilty Hello

Happy Thursday Peeps!
Today I am sharing a card I made using the color challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers.
The colors to use are Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Basic Gray and neutral of ivory or white.
I have to say right off, my blue is not Island Indigo, I thought it was when I pulled it out and started my quilt block, but discovered later when I got out my Indigo card stock out that it was not. I didn't want to re-do my quilt block so I just went with it.
I have been making a bunch of these quilt block cards lately, I have some more to show you at a later date, they are so fun. I just looked at some on the internet and  used them as a guide for making mine.
I used my SU grid paper to build the block on. Starting with 1 inch squares of the papers and lining them up as I pieced the block. Most of the squares are cut in half on a diagonal. After the quilt block is all done, just cut out your grid paper, trim the edges and emboss, it works out great!

I used a couple of new items on here, the Lucky Limeade DSP is from the upcoming SAB as is the sentiment, is from a SAB set. I added some basic gray satin ribbon with an antique brad in the middle and tucked the sentiment under the edge of the bow.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks for coming by and we will talk again soon!

CCMC182......Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Hump Day Peeps!
Today I am sharing a card I made over the weekend using the sketch challenge on Create with Connie and Mary. I wanted to do a Valentine card so I pulled out my all time favorite stamp set, Stampin Up's Greeting Card Kids.
I used some retired DSP,  the Love Impressions Specialty Pack.
I used some of the silver and red glitter paper to make my hearts and the edge punch is the pinking hearts. I used the square lattice EF for the embossed piece on the bottom.
The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and is stamped with black stazon.

The little Valentine girl was stamped with black stazon onto white card stock, I then used my water brush to color her using ink from my ink pads. I used pretty in pink, real red and blush blossom ink. I added a highlight to the heart with my white gel pen.
I added two silver brads and a small bow to the heart on the sentiment flag.
Well, that is all from me thanks fro stopping by and we will talk again soon, if you have any questions be sure and let me know!

SSSC149........Birthday Wishes

Happy Monday Evening Peeps!
I am late posting my Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge card. I was just taking the week off, but I had some time to play a bit with the sketch today so I thought I would post late!

Here is the Sweet Sketch Karen has for us this week:

Karen is changing things up a bit in the new year, sketch challenges will run for two weeks. So it gives everyone alot more time to play along.
I used the Daisy die to make my flower and some retired DSP.
The base of the card is basic gray and  then a layer of the DSP, which is from the "Love Impressions" paper pack, I think. I then used more gray that I embossed with the square lattice EF.
I then used some real red that I also embossed, this one with the houndstooth EF.

I added some basic gray satin ribbon and some basic pearls. The sentiment is from the "Petite Pairs" set. I added it to the center of the flower.
Well, that is all from me today....

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

OK, be sure and check out what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team has in store for us this week:

Well, thank you for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!
