Happy Birthday

Happy Thursday Peeps!!
Hope your week is going along well, mine has been crazy, with the new job and all the extra things going on with hubby, I am having a hard time finding stamping time.

Today's card is one I made a few days back and hadn't posted, I didn't use any challenges at all. Just made this one for fun.
I love these two new in colors Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple. I really like the two together.
The DSP on here is from the Patio Party pack.

I used the "Love & Sympathy" stamp set for the pretty flower and I inked up using my markers,
The sentiment is from the "Made for You" stamp set.
I added a double loopy bow with the Raspberry Ribbon and used an antique brad in the center.
I cut the main image out using my Big Shot and the one of the Apothecary Accents framelits die.

Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

SSSC166.....Happy Halloween

Happy Sunday peeps!!
Time for a new Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

Love this sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

I knew right away that I wanted to make a Halloween card. You all know that I Love Halloween and the Stampin Up set "Greeting Card Kids" probably just about my favorite stamp set of all time!
I pulled out the new "Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP and used the colors from the paper for my card.
The base of the card is basic gray card stock and then a layer of basic black and then the DSP.
The next layers are basic gray and more DSP.
I used some tangerine tango card stock that I embossed with the spider web EF.

I made the banner using more of the DSP and the Pennant Punch. I added three small black pennants between the DSP and then added some gold and black glitter brads to the centers.
The little witch is stamped with black stazon onto some very vanilla card stock and colored using my water brush and ink pads.
The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

Be sure and check out what the rest of the team has made with this sweet sketch:

Freshly Made Sketch meets Dynamic Duos

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made combing two challenges.
First I used the colors on the Dynamic Duos Blog:

and I combined it with the sketch challenge this week on the Freshly Made Sketches Blog

When I was making my card I did not have this sketch in front of me so my card varies slightly from the sketch but not that much, so I thought it was still OK.

I love this color combo, River Rock and Basic Black. The dessert option this week was to use brads, I opted for some pearls instead, so I guess I skipped dessert.

The DSP on here is some from a retired pack, I found when digging, not sure of the name. With all the new EF we have now I still favor this perfect dot one alot.
I used the stamp set "Summer Silhouettes"  and the sentiment is from the retired "Occasional Quotes".

Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

The Paper Players Color Challenge

Happy Hump Day Peeps, hope your week is going well so far.

I don't normally share much on my blog about my personal life but since I have had several e-mails about things I thought I would take a moment to share.
August 1st DH had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital via an ambulance. He had a heart catherization and 4 stents. But as the doctor said to me afterwards- that was only secondary to his big problem, his heart muscle is very diseased more so than it should be for a man his age and is only functioning at 15% of what it should be. He said it is more than likely that he will never be able to work again. He is doing well now after a second trip to the hospital, just have to be careful. Needless to say we have had alot of things to work out. We will get there, but sure wouldn't mind a few prayers if you are so inclined.

Anyway I took a little time on Sunday to make a couple of cards, I had a sweet etsy customer ask for some Anniversary cards so I looked around for a couple of challenges to spur me forward. I always love the challenges on  The Paper Players Blog and went there to check it out. It was this nice color challenge:

I created the two shades of cherry cobbler for the flowers by simply stamping off the first layer once and then full strength on the second layer. I did the same  with the leaves and the crumb cake ink.
I used the night of navy for my sentiment.
The DSP and sentiment piece is from a Simply Sent kit.

I used cherry cobbler for the base and the next layer is crumb cake and then some white that I embossed with the perfect dots folder.
I added some silver sticky pearls (non SU) to the top corners and the sentiment piece.
I do love this flower stamp from Stampin Up called "Stippled Blossoms".

Well, that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!

Dynamic Duos.....Happy Anniversary

Happy Monday Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge this week on the Dynamics Duo Blog.

I actually CASED a card I had made awhile back, you can see it HERE
I really enjoy making these rolled flowers, but this card would not be an easily mailable card because those roses are very thick and stick off the card a bit.

Hope you enjoy this one!

SSSC165......Just for You

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

I played around a bit with this sketch before landing on this card idea.
I used an old favorite stamp set, "Greeting Card Kids" from Stampin' Up.
I decide to use the "back to school" theme since it soooo close to that time here.

The DSP is from the "Storytime" pack and it fits perfectly with this stamp set I think.

I stamped the kids onto some very vanilla card stock and colored with my water brush and ink pads.
the base of the card is crumb cake card stock and the DSP and image panel are matted with riding hood red card stock. The apple is from the Perfectly Preserved stamp set and sentiment comes from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

Be sure and check out what the rest of the team has made with this sweet sketch:

Stamping 411......Owl Birthday

Hello Peeps!!

What a week we have had here!!!

I almost didn't get my card for this weeks Stamping 411 sketch challenge completed.
I actually had it mostly done but not photographed or edited.

Here is this week's sketch:

I do love this cute little owl stamp set from the Stampin Up Holiday catalog. It is called "Owl Occasions" and has some cute accessories for the little owl.
I keep my card fairly simple, the base is crumb cake card stock and then a layer of pacific point and then another layer of crumb cake that I embossed with the woodgrain EF.

I used some daffodil delight and the perfect trimmings edgelit to mat the DSP which is from the International Bazaar paper pack.
I used the labels framelits dies to die cut the main image piece with the owl and for the daffodil piece behind the owl.
The sentiment piece is die cut with the bitty banners framelits and the sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. I stamped the owl with pacific point and the hat, balloon and present  are stamped with rich razzleberry ink.
Be sure and check out the 411 Blog to see what the other operators did with this fun sketch.
Thanks for stopping by!

Stamping 411......So Sorry

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

Sorry I am late posting my 411 Challenge Card this week.
Have had a few things going on with DH that kept my focus elsewhere.
He is home from the hospital now and taking it easy.

Now onto my card.
Here is this week's sketch:

Pretty easy and straight forward layout.

I used two Stampin Up sets for this one, the flower is from the pretty "Summer Silhouettes"  and the sentiment is from the "So Sorry" set. Don't you love that pretty font?

The base of the card is white card stock and the next layer is Primrose Petals, one of the new in colors this year. I then used a new Embossing Folder and white card stock again for my next layer
The pretty embossing folder is called Lacy Brocade and is available in the new Stampin Up Holiday Mini.

The DSP is from the pretty "Fan Fair" pack. I used the Labels Collection Framelits for my main image piece. I stamped my flower stem with old olive ink and then use primrose and my stamp a ma jig to add the blooms. I stamped the blooms a second time with out re-inking to ge the lighter effect.
The sentiment is also stamped with sentiment and primrose ink. The "So Sorry" is one stamp and then the "for your loss"  is another single stamp. There is many other sentiments to go along with the "So Sorry",  this set is really a nice with the variety of sayings.
I added a little embossed butterfly made with the Beautiful Wings embosslit die. I used some of the primrose ribbon and some silver brads for my accents.

Be sure to head over to the Stamping 411 Blog to see what the rest of the operators did with this fun sketch!

Thanks for coming by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Dynamic Duos...Sympathy

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using this week's colors on the Dynamic Duos Blog.

I used the pretty flower from the Stampin Up "Blooming with Kindness" stamp set.
I first die cut out a shape from the Apothecary Accents Framelits and used the negative piece over a piece of very vanilla card stock and sponged some crumb cake ink around the edges.
I stamped the flower using early espresso ink over one of the sponged edges.
The sentiment is from the retired "Close as a Memory" stamp set and was stamped with early espresso ink as well. I used my stamp a ma jig to line it up. I used one of the new piercing templates to pierce around my sponged shape.

The base of my card is a 5-1/2 inch x 11 inch piece of early espresso scored and folded in half.
I then used two pieces of crumb cake that I embossed with the chevron EF.
I added them to the top and bottom of the base.
I then matted my image piece with more early espresso card stock and added it to the base.
I used some retired very vanilla satin ribbon across the bottom. I couldn't believe that my roll of this ribbon is almost gone and I don't have another, I stocked up on some of the satin ribbon when it retired and somehow missed this one. :(
I added some basic pearls to the corners and called it done.
Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!
