SSSC128.....Happiness always

Good Morning Peeps!!!
It is Sunday which means it's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Here is the SWEET sketch Karen has for us this week:

Cute sketch huh and a tilted panel.....gotta love that!!!

As you can see I messed up a bit on the sketch. I had looked at it before starting my card but not while putting it together, hence the wrong way tilt!!! The rest is right tho!

I wanted to use some of this great new Stampin' Up paper called "Cheerful Treat". I love the colors in this pack. the base of my card is Concord Crush and then I followed that with some Wisteria Wonder and then the DSP.  I added three strips of  Concord Crush Ribbon across the top of the card. I then started the main image panel. Wisteria Wonder, Concord Crush and then whisper white.

I had all this done before heading over to me friend Wendy's house for some stamping therapy. I took the set I wanted to use with me the hostess set  "Array of Sunshine". I knew from trial and error that I wanted to make a Melon Mambo layered flower on the main piece and add a couple of other colored flowers to the sides and of course the leaves. I got alot of input from Wendy, she suggested the sentiment and it was also her buttons I used, some she had in her stash, but they matched perfectly.  I cut out several leaves from the sizzix sizzlits little leaves die with some Lucky Limeade card stock. I decide after cutting out the leaves that they needed something so I embossed them with the Square Lattice EF.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

OK, let's see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team has in store for us this week:

OCC......Red & Aqua Color Challenge

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

It is time for another challenge over on the Our Creative Corner Blog. This week our challenge hostess is Sarah Gough from THinkING STAMPS and she has a fun challenge for us,  A Red & Aqua Color Challenge.
She provided this picture for some inspiration:

Great colors, and I love those pictures!

I wanted to make a very CAS, (Clean & Simple) card, I needed a thank you card to mail to an online customer, so I didn't want it bulky at all.

I started with a base of Pool Party card stock, Love this new in color, and then followed that with some Poppy Parade card stock. I pulled out a new set from Stampin' Up called "Delicate Doilies". I stamped the doilies with Pool Party and Poppy Parade ink. I stamped off the Poppy Parade ink on a few and got a very pretty coral color.

I am not really pleased with my pictures of this card, it is so much prettier IRL, just couldn't get the colors to come out quite right. I added  a rhinestone to the center of the doilies. The sentiment is from the "A Word for You." I stamped that with black stazon.

Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun  challenge. I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it!

Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

SC343....thank you

Happy Friday peeps!!! Hope your week went well and that you have something fun planned for the weekend, try to stay cool!!

Today I am sharing a card I made with the sketch challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers.

I have to tell you right off that this card gave me fits!! I made the base with real red and then I decided I wanted to use the fun and BRIGHT paper from Stampin' Up called "Big Top Birthday".  That part came together fairly easy, the strips of DSP are 3/4 of an inch space 1/4 of an inch apart.

I  had a couple of thoughts for the main image/piece. At first I was going to use some more of the same DSP and make a pinwheel. So after making three different pinwheels, I ditched that idea and moved onto another idea, the Stampin Up balloon set called "Up, Up & Away" a really cute hot air balloon set, couldn't make that work either, so finally after thinking about it for awhile, I decided on the "Greeting Card Kids" stamp set. I stamped the little girl onto some whisper white with black stazon and colored her with my aqua painter and ink pads.

Then onto the next issue, what embellishments, I must have tried about three other things before finally going with the buttons. Love these Stampin Up buttons from the Brights collection! so pretty!! I used some white bakers twine to sew them onto the card and then used a few glue dots under them to anchor them in the position I wanted them.

I have to say this is STILL not my favorite card, but it is OK and finally finished!!! LOL!!!

Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and be sure to come back in the morning for a new OCC challenge!

HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

CC333....Take Care

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card made with this week's color challenge on Splitcoaststampers. I promise I will stop using this sketch sometime soon, well maybe!!!

As you all know I love sketch challenges, but color challenges are a bit harder for me. I have been pushing myself to do more of them. Today's colors are Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight and of course, a neutral of your choice.

Normally when I start a color challenge I pull out the colors of the challenge in card stock and see how I might want to use them. I new right away that the tangerine and daffodil looked good together and that either one could be used for flowers. I am generally OK with the colors if I can stamp some flowers. :)
I also thought that the Island Indigo was dark enough to almost act as a neutral, so I used it that way. I made the base of the card with the Indigo and then added another layer of the indigo that I embossed with the square lattice EF.

I used the awesome hostess set from the Summer Mini called  "Love & Care". This is one of my favorite sets, right now. I stamped the flowers with tangerine tango and the stems and leaf are old olive. I added some daffodil delight satin ribbon, some silver pearls, (non SU) and a little butterfly for my accents. I hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Sweet Button Buddies

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a little 4 x 4 card I made for the Clean and Simple Challenge today on Splitcoast Stampers. The challenge is to use a tag on your CAS card.

I wanted to use my new Stampin' Up set called "Button Buddies", I really LOVE this set, it is so cute and easy to make a fabulous card.
My base of the card is white and then I followed with some real read and more white. The main image is stamped onto white with old olive and real red. I then ran this piece through my Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I then used some white bakers twine to add the buttons. I matted this piece with more real red card stock. I added it to the base with some dimesionals.

I added some basic black satin ribbon around the top. The "sweet" is from the "Fabulous Phrases" stamp set and I used the Jewelry Tag Punch to punch it out. I also punched out a real red tag and layered them together. I added the tag around the black bow with more bakers twine.

Well, that is all from me today, I hope wherever you all are, you are staying cool, it is SO HOT here with NO relief in the near future!!!

HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC127....Lean on Me

Good Morning Peeps!!!
It is Sunday which means it's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Here is the SWEET sketch Karen has for us this week:

I really love this new little Stampin Up set called "Lean on Me", my only problem with it is getting a decent picture of my cards made with it.
I have had a booger of a time getting a good picture and the two I ended up using are just OK.
Not sure what the problem is, the small line drawings or ???????

Anyway, onto the card, my base is crumb cake card stock. I really wanted to use another of the new in colors this one is called Island Indigo. It is a pretty denim color, I used this color on the little girls pants and her shirt is colored with Poppy Parade. The other little girl is wearing a crumb cake skirt and her top and socks is Calypso Coral.
I used the square lattice embossing folder on the Island Indigo piece and added two pieces of white card stock that I punched with the pinking hearts border punch.

I then added a piece of chocolate chip scallop dots ribbon for the side element in the sketch. I then added two small buttons, one red and one yellow and used some of the white bakers twine to put through the button holes and to tie a small bow. Pretty CAS, but cute I think. :)

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

OK, let's see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team has in store for us this week:

OCC....Birthday Black-Eyed Susans

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

It is time for another challenge over on the Our Creative Corner Blog. This week our challenge hostess is Sarah Gough from THinkING STAMPS and she has a fun challenge for us, All the B's! Use Buttons, Black, Bling and a Bow on your creation!

I pulled out another new set from the Stampin' Up Idea Book & Catalog. This one is called "Field Flowers". I had to do this one in yellows to look like my favorite field flowers, Black Eyed Susans. I love these flowers and they grow wild all over the place around here and even seem to thrive in the terrible heat. I even saw some one year growing between some bricks in an alley near the store I use to work at.

The base of my card is basic black card stock. The next layer is the beautiful Daffodil Delight that I embossed with the square lattice embossing folder. The main image panel is stamped with the leaves/stem of the flowers and then I stamped the flowers and center on scrap whisper white and cut out and added to the main panel with dimesionals.

I have been kinda hooked on this layout, you can see other examples of it HEREHERE and HERE. It is a great layout for large image panels and I do love a crooked panel. LOL!!!

I added a small little daffodil delight butterfly with some "BLING" on it and my "BOW" is made with some Stampin' Up basic black satin ribbon. I added a "BUTTON" from the Stampin Up Designer buttons brights collection pack to the center of the bow. I am sure you can see all the "BLACK"  the ribbon, the brads, the flower centers, and of course the card stock.

Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun  challenge. I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it!

CC332....Snow Fun

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made with the color challenge yesterday on Splitcoaststampers. The colors are Pool Party, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip and any neutral of your choice.

I decided to use this new Stampin' Up set called "Snow Much Fun" to make another Christmas card. It has been so unbearable HOT here the last few weeks with no end to it in sight, so I am thinking "Cool" thoughts and looking forward to fall and winter, I really dislike summer.

I stamped the snowman and tree image onto some white card stock and used my aqua painter and ink pads to color them in. the only chocolate chip on here are the tree trunk, snowman's boots and hat. I used the pool party and wild wasabi for the rest. I did add some pumpkin pie for the nose and a bit of melon mambo for the cheek.

I used the Scallop Square Bigz Clear Die for the base of the card. The image panel is matted with wild wasabi and added to the base with some dimesionals. The ribbon I used is some retired wild wasabi and is wrapped around the card and I used the crop a dile to put a couple of holes in the top panel to bring the ribbon up through. I tied a bow and then used the mat pack and piercing tool to pierce the scallop square base. The sentiment is stamped with black onto the with and I used the modern label punch to punch it out and for the wild wasabi matt.

Well, that is all from me for today, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Another Christmas in July

Good Monday Morning Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card made with the new Stampin Up stamp set called "Beautiful Season". OMG this is an awesome set. I so love this beautiful chickadee sitting on the holly branch. I do not have this set yet, but a friend does and she let me stamp a few images while I was at her house on Saturday. There is so much from the new cattie I want and this is near the top, but since it is a Christmas set I postponed ordering it on my first order so I could get other things and thought I would get this set later since Christmas is still a few months away. I will get it later but was grateful my friend Wendy let me stamp a few to play with til then. Thanks Wendy!

I stamped the image with black stazon onto some white card stock. I used an aqua painter to color it in. I used old olive, real red, basic gray, soft suede and crumb cake ink. I added a few dots around the outside with my chocolate chip marker.

The base of the card is Crumb Cake, but you can't see that, I ended covering it up with the basic black and basic gray. I embossed the basic gray with the square lattice EF. I added some real red satin ribbon and silver pearls, non SU, for the embellishments.

The sentiment is from the :Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set. I stamped with black stazon and punched out with the word window punch and used the modern label punch with real red to mat the sentiment.

Well, that is all from me today, I have new goodies scheduled to arrive today!!! :)

HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC126......Friend

Good Morning Peeps!!!
It is Sunday which means it's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Here is the SWEET sketch Karen has for us this week:

I used a card from the Stampin' Up catalog ( pg 98) for some inspiration on my card. I used the Stampin' Up set "Printed Petals" stamp set for the flower on my card. I used Wisteria Wonder, Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade ink. Each layer is on a dimensional and the square behind the flower is Lucky Limeade card stock that I embossed with the square lattice EF.

The DS paper on here is from 2 new packs, Pocketful of Posies and Just Add Cake. The base of the card is Poppy Parade and then a layer of Calypso Coral card stock. The friend sentiment is from the "Fabulous Phrases" stamp set. I also used some whisper white satin ribbon and silver pearls (non SU) .

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

OCC......Hello

Good Saturday Morning Peeps!

It is time for a new challenge on the Our Creative Corner Blog.

This week Kristen is our challenge hostess and she has a fun challenge for us-Copenhagen - It's a wonderful, old, enchanting city! Here are some photos for inspiration, the catch is you can't use any pre-printed papers so bust out all your stamps!

She also gave us these pictures for inspiration:

I am sure you can tell which picture inspired me, I love them all but went with the boats, so I could use my little Stampin' Up "Sail Away" stamp.
I also used the card on pg. 11 of the Summer  Mini for some inspiration too.

I started my card with a base of Crumb Cake and then followed that with some Early Espresso and then the main image was dome on water color paper. I used Not Quite Navy, Chocolate Chip and Cherry Cobbler ink to color the image.

I added a strip of Not Quite Navy card stock that I embossed with the square lattice EF. The big button is from the retired Deck the Halls button pack and I used some Early Espresso bakers twine in the button.

The Sentiment flag is made with a stamp from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set. I used just the "hello" part and inked it three times with the three card colors and stamped using the stamp a ma jig to line them up. I added a couple of cherry cobbler brads to the top.

Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun  challenge. I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it!

CCMC15......Thank You

Good Friday Morning Peeps!!

I was up early yesterday and feeling so much better and was anxious to create something.
I started looking around for a challenge to participate in and to inspire.
I came across this challenge on Create with Connie and Mary Blog, it is a special two week challenge with a color and sketch challenge in one, you could do the color or the sketch or both.
I decided to try the color challenge, those are the ones I struggle with more.
So the colors to use are basic gray, pumpkin pie, and so saffron and I threw in the neutral of very vanilla.

I started with a base of Basic Gray and then followed that with some very vanilla. I then used the Tulip Frame EF on some more basic gray for the next layer.

I then decided to make a pretty layered flower. I stamped the flower from the Stampin' Up Flower Fest card onto some so saffron card stock with versamark and embossed with my white embossing powder.  I then cut out the layers, decreasing one row each time, and layered them together with dimesionals. I used my aqua painter and some pumpkin pie ink to color the flower a bit.

The center is made up of Pumpkin Pie card stock followed by some DS paper from the retired Sweet & Sour Speciality Pack and Very Vanilla card stock. I added some So Saffron scallops made with the Tasteful Trim Die. The sentiment is from the "Curly Cute" stamp set and is stamped with basic gray ink, but looks black. I finished it off with some Pumpkin Pie Satin ribbon and some silver pearls (non SU).

Well that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and
 HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SC341...Birthday Pinwheel

Good Thursday Morning Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers.

I wanted to play with this new Pinwheel die I just got, it is a really cool die, it cuts one petal, and it takes 6 to make this pinwheel. I got out my "Just Add cake" DS paper and picked out a couple of pieces to use on the card. The base is Tangerine Tango card stock and I also used some blushing bride and whisper white card stock. I used a tangerine button in the center of the pinwheel and it is threaded with some twine.

I used part of a wood skewer for the pinwheel handle. The sentiment is from the "Something to Celebrate" stamp set. I added a few silver pearls in the corners. I also used the square lattice embossing folder on the white piece behind the pinwheel! I love this little pinwheel!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Hello

Happy Hump Day Peeps!

Today I am sharing the card I made last month for my first Control Freaks Swap.

Yesterday was a bit hard and then in the evening I got sick, have a bit of a stomach bug I think. YUCK!!

So I am going to keep this fairly short and sweet. The card base is Crumb Cake card stock and then I followed that with some Rich Razzleberry card stock.  The DS paper I used is from the new Pocketful of Posies pack. The stamp set is used is also new, "Faith in Nature", I love this set!

I stamped with black stazon onto watercolor paper and colored with my ink pads and aqua painter.

I used the Blossom Petals Punch for my leaf. The sentiment is from the "Tiny Tags" stamp set. I added rich razzleberry satin ribbon and some basic pearls.

Well, that is all from me thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Sympathy Card

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps.

Today is going to be a bit of a rough one. I will be attending my aunt's funeral this morning. This was my Mom's sister and the last of her siblings. They are all re-untied now. To top it off yesterday would have been my Mom's 80th birthday, so alot of emotions running around over here. Altho I wasn't very close with my aunt the last few years, since my Mom's passing, I have alot of good memories of her and her girls, my cousins, from childhood. :) I know her husband and children are hurting and I hope this card will bring them just a bit of comfort.

I used THIS card for my inspiration.
I started with a base of Concord Crush, 5 inches by 10 inches folded in half. I wanted to emboss my BG piece but since it was too big for the EF, so I came up with the idea to split the BG into two pieces. I used the new Wisteria Wonder card stock to matt the embossed pieces.
The stamp set used is the "Hello Friend", I stamped the image with wisteria ink onto whisper white card stock. The sentiment is from the "Thoughts & Prayers stamp set.
I used vellum to make the butterfly out of from the Beautiful Butterflies Die.
I added some whisper white satin ribbon and the retired two slot punch to bring the ribbon to the top of the image panel and tied a bow.
I added two basic pearls to the butterfly and called it done.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Summer Door Hanger

Good Monday Morning Peeps!

Today I am sharing a Summer door hanger that I made yesterday. My friend Wendy has been making several of these door hangers lately and she inspired me to get my blank wood door hanger out and make me a Summer one.

On Saturday Wendy texted me and asked if I would like to take a little road trip with her. Where? I asked. To a scrapbook/stamp store came the reply. I'm in was my quick reply! LOL!! So off we went to Shawnee Mission Kansas, a couple of hours drive from us. Wendy was in search of some stamps she wanted for a special birthday card she needed to make and I was "just looking". :)  I ended up with a couple of things, one being some of the cute polka dotted paper you see on my door hanger. The rest is all Stampin' Up ~~ card stock, punches, ribbon and buttons.

I free handed the watermelon, well the base anyway. I first made a little template with some scrap white card stock and folded it in half to get both corners the same. I cut a  red piece and a dark green piece for the watermelon and layered them together, making the green piece a little bigger of course. I then used my scallop circle punch to take a "bite" out of the watermelon piece. The "seeds"  are made with the blossom bouquet triple punch, the pieces that are punched out of the flower are perfect little "tear drops" for seeds.

The crow is made up of punches and I used the instructions I found HERE. I changed it just a bit, I made feet for my crow with the snowflake punch and I used the square lattice EF to make my crow's hat look like straw and I added some googlie eyes to mine too.

I made some sunflowers using the 5-petal flower punch and the center is made with a 1 inch circle punch. I added some daffodil delight satin ribbon to the top and the buttons are some I got during SAB. I turned them to the back side because that side matched my colors better. I threaded some black jute through the buttons.

Well, that is all from me today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC125.....Happy Birthday Cupcakes.

                                                               Good Morning Peeps!!

It's Sunday which means it is time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Here is the sweet sketch that Karen has for us this week:

I decided to use some fun new paper and a long ago gotten and never even taken out of the packaging Cupcake Punch.

I started the card with a base of Peach Parfait card stock, I then followed up with more peach parfait and the DSP is from the new "Just Add Cake" paper pack. That name is what lead me to the much neglected cupcake punch. It is very cute and I don't know why I never took it out and used it. The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up "Create a Cupcake stamp set, another never used item, the poor little stamp set has been setting unmounted and unused for months!!! Shame on me!

I added some peach parfait ribbon and some silver pearls to my card for my embellishments. I also added a bit of stickles to the candle flame.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

OK, let's see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team has in store for us this week:

OCC...White on White Challenge

Good Saturday Morning Peeps!

It is time for a new challenge on the Our Creative Corner Blog. This week Kristen is our challenge hostess and she challenge us to only use white on our creations. She gave us this photo for some inspiration:

I have to say I was a bit intimidated  by this challenge, I don't think I have ever made a white on white card, but after I got started it wasn't so bad.

I used some PTI white card stock for my card, I love the weight of this card stock and it embosses so well. It is great for a nice base too. I used the Stampin Up Sizzix Little Leaves sizzlit die and cut out several leaves. I then cut  out a flower from the retired Stampin Up Sizzix Big Bold Cupcakes Candles sizzlit and I also cut out a few butterflies from the Embosslits Beautiful Wings Sizzix die also made by Stampin Up. I did these all in white. I stamped the sentiment, which is from the Stampin Up Bold Blossom stamp set, onto a scrap piece of white with basic gray ink that I stamped of once. I used the Decorative Label Punch to punch out the sentiment. The hardest part of this card was adding dimesionals to all the little leaves, each leaf on here has a dimensional under it as does the flower and sentiment piece. The butterflies are glued directly to the embossed piece. I added some basic rhinestones around, gotta love some bling!!!!

Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun  challenge. I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it!

Color Challenge....Thinking of You

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card made with the color challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers. The colors are rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo and Tangerine Tango with a dessert option of a pin.

I started this card with a base of rich razzleberry and then followed up with a piece of white that I embossed with the square lattice EF. The DSP I used on here is from a retired pack from last year called Razzleberry Lemonade, maybe even 2 years old, not sure.

I used the Stampin UP "Flower Fest" stamp set. I stamped the flowers with versamark onto the melon mambo and tangerine tango and embossed with white embossing powder, I have done this flower like this several times and LOVE the look of that flower embossed and layered. Give it a try, you will be hooked too. The sentiment comes from the "Thoughts & Prayers" stamp set.

I used some rich razzleberry satin ribbon, which is retired too but I stocked up on it. I added my dessert option by using the "Tiny Tags" stamp set and the jewelry tag punch. I added that to the bow with a pin from the Vintage Trinkets assortment pack, another must have embellishment.

Well, that is all from me, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!
