SSSC58 Thinking of You

Good Sunday Morning Peeps!! It is that time of the week, time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!!!

Here is the sketch we are working with:

Karen sure has a way with sketches huh? I have lately been on a kick to make everything I do harder than it needs to be. Case in point, this fabulous sketch! I made three cards with it and really didn't like any of them, but finally just decided to go with this one. The flowers are some I saw here.

My card is 3-1/4 by 6-1/2 inches and fit the small open end envelope that SU sells. I used melon mambo, whisper white and the DS paper is from the Welcome Neighbor Paper Pad. The swirls are made with some of the DS paper from the same pack with the Sizzix "Scribbles Swirls". I used my 1 inch Punch and the jumbo brads for the flower centers. The sentiment is a rub on.

Well, that is all from me let's see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team have for us:

Karen-the Sweetest Thing

Jen-JenTapler Designs

Karen-Paper Playhouse

Laura-Scrapnextras on vacation this week

Wonderful Friend Set

Good Saturday Morning Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card and coaster box I made. I love the colors in this set, rich razzlebery, pale plum and the wonderful Cottage Wall DS paper. I used the "Wonderful Favorites" Stamp set and the "Vintage Vogue" stamp set for the card.

Lots of cutting out and popping up with this one. I used half of a top note for the bottom portion that the sentiment is stamped on. I used some of the razzlebbery ribbon, turned to the solid side across the middle between the two pieces of the Cottage Wall DS paper. I used some silver sticky rhinestones for the flower centers. You could change this to a mother or sister card too.

Next I made a matching coaster bag. It is made with two 4 x 4 coasters with a box in the middle. I saw the coaster bag here

I used all the same paper on this as the card, I added the sentiment from "Teeny Tiny Wishes" Stamp set.

Well, that is it from me today, thanks so much for coming by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Curtain Call....On Your Birthday

Good Morning Peeps!!

Today's card is made for Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 18.

I was a bit nervous when I started this card, but I do like the final results. The colors this week are night of navy, ballet blue, kraft, old olive and whisper white.
I started the card with my base of kraft and then followed that with some night of navy, whisper white and then the DS paper is from the Tall Tales pack. The stamp set I used is "Thoughts & Prayers" and the sentiment comes from the "On Your Birthday" set.

I stamped the tree with old olive and chocolate chip ink. I added some ballet blue and night of navy buttons tied on with some thread. I also used a spiral clip and some ballet blue and night of navy 1/4 inch grosgrain ribbon. I stamped the sentiment with night of navy ink and punched it out with the modern label punch. The strip behind the main panel was created with kraft card stock, punched along both edges with the scallop trim border punch. I added a strip of ballet blue and then pierced both edges. The main image panel is mounted to the base with dimensionals.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

MTSC62 Thinking of You

Happy Hump Day Peeps, it is cold again here, only 4 degrees here this morning!!! YIKES!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge. I love a sketch challenge challenge, don't ya know? Mercy's sketches are always fun to work with!!!

My card is made with a set I just got, "Asian Artistry" which is a level 2 hostess set. I stamped the image with black stazon onto some watercolor paper and used my aqua painter to color it with. I used some pumpkin pie, dusty durango and old olive ink. The sentiment comes from the "Kind & Caring Thoughts" set. I used so saffron, really rust card stock and the DS comes from a retired pack, Haiku, I believe. I added some so saffron ribbon and some rust and old olive buttons.

Well, that is all from me, but before I go, did you notice my watermark on my pic? Very cool huh? Got it from Karen she is awesome, she even has a great tutorial on how to use them. I just got photoshop elements too, that program is very intimidating, alot to learn there, but at least I figured out the layers thingy, well sort of!!!

Well, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

SFYTT Happy Easter

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card made with Jen's Sketch for you to Try. My card is very much inspired by this cutie made by Nancy Riley!

I loved her white BG and the use of the Prints patterns DS paper. For my card I started with a base of so saffron and followed that up with a piece of whisper white that I scored the BG with my Scor Pal. I scored at half inch increments diagonally starting at one corner and then flipping to another corner to go the other direction.

I used some bashful blue card stock with the Scallop Trim Border Punch for the edge. I cute four 1-3/4 inch squares of DS paper from a couple of retired hostess print packs. The stamp set I used is "A Good Egg? I stamped the chick three times, once on the white and then again on some so saffron and a piece of the DS paper. I cut them out and pieced them onto the chick. I used my circle and scallop circle nesties to cut out the chickie and the mat. I mounted that piece with some dimensionals. I added some so saffron ribbon and the sentiment is stamped with black stazon onto white and then matted with so saffron. I hand cut the end pieces. I added a button from my stash with a bit of linen thread tied through it.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC57 You Crack me Up!

Good Sunday Morning Peeps!! My favorite time of the week is here, time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!

I have to pinch myself every week to believe that I am on this fabulous sketch team with some really talented stampers!!! This week's sketch is a dosey, and there has been alot of talk back and forth among some of the sketch team about this one!! LOL!!!

Here is the sketch:

I didn't know immediately what to do with this sketch but after thinking about it a bit decide on DS paper for those BG strips. I like the end result. Then the big dilemma what to use for my focal point. I knew it needed to be fun and funky to go with the DS paper, something I am not good with, give me some pretty flowers any day, but I am trying to break out of my comfort zone! I finally landed on this little ducky from the SU "Animal Crackers" set. He is cute right? And very fitting I might add as the sketch was a bit of a "quack up"!!!! :)

the inside:

Well, that is all from me I hope you can find some time to play along this week.

Hello

Happy Saturday Peeps!

Today I am trying out a new challenge, well new for me anyways. I do sketch challenges so much I wondered if I can even do a card with out one??? So I was surfing around a bit yesterday and saw this BEAUTY, by Karen Giron. She had made it for this week's color challenge at the Color Throwdown Blog. I so loved Karen's card so I wanted to try those colors myself. The colors are....light green, rust and burgundy.

Translated into SU colors, certainly celery, really rust and bravo burgundy. I cheated, well not really but I used the really rust just on my bird wing. The colors are really nice together.

The base of my card is certainly celery card stock and I followed it with some retired celery DS paper. I added a strip of bravo burgundy across the bottom that I had punched with the scallop edge punch. I used some certainly celery ribbon, from last years SAB bundle, across the burgundy strip. I cut out some whisper white with my label nesties and added the bird, brand and wing to it. The bird is bravo burgundy, the wing really rust and the branch/leaf is certainly celery.

Finally I used the "Hello Again" stamp set for the sentiment. I stamped it with bravo burgundy onto a scrap of celery card stock and used the curly label punch on one end. Edged it all around with burgundy ink and mounted it with a dimensional to the main panel.

Well, that is all from me for today, be sure and stop back by tomorrow for a very interesting Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!!!

Thanks so much and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!!!!

PPA30 On Your Birthday....

TGIF Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made for the challenge on the Pals Paper Arts Blog. This week is a KISS challenge, Keep It Simple, Sweetie.

The base is kraft card stock. I then stamped the balloon from the "Crazy for Cupcakes" set three times onto another piece of kraft card stock using black stazon. I masked off the middle balloon to stamp the third one. I colored the balloons in with markers. I stamped two more balloons on scrap kraft and colored them. I cut them out and added them to the card with some foam tape.

The sentiment is from the SU "On Your Birthday" set. I stamped that with black stazon using my stamp-a-ma-jig to get it straight. The ribbon is some retired riding hood red taffeta. I layered this piece onto the base of the same color. I didn't want the back of the colored piece showing, I think it just makes the card look better.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Sketch & Color Challenge Happy Day

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!!

Today's card is made with two challenges. First up is Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge, Great sketch huh? Next is Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge. The colors this week are chocolate chip, going gray, very vanilla, more mustard and so saffron. I have to admit when I saw this combo I was a bit skeered......I didn't think I could pull it off, I don't think I have ever used that many colors on one card.

The base of the card is chocolate chip and I followed that with going gray card stock. The next layer is some so saffron DS paper from the new Sweet Pea Paper pack. The squares to the side are more mustard DS paper from an old retired hostess pack, I matted those squares with very vanilla. The stamp set used is "Flight of the Butterfly". I stamped the butterfly first with so saffron ink and the flowers are stamped with more mustard, I did that twice and cut out the second butterfly to mount over the bottom. I glued it just in the middle so I could pull up the wings a bit. The sentiment is also stamped with more mustard ink. I used my oval and scallop oval nesties to cut the main image out. I added some chocolate chip ribbon and bow with a big very vanilla brad. I thought it still need something so I pulled out some yellow sticky rhinestones, added them to the butterfly center and the upper right corner.

I wanted to let you guys know, I very excited to say I opened and etsy store, to sell my cards, with the help of the wonderful Pam Speidel. She talked me through a couple of things and gave me great advice. The link to my store is on my sidebar. I only have a few cards up now but will slowly be adding more, so if you have the time, check it out and let me know what you think.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SFYTT Birthday Celebrations

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps.

I am running behind with all my challenges this week and last, I got out of the swing of them a week or two ago and I am sure having a hard time getting back into the groove. Today's share is a card made with Jen's Sketch For You To Try.

I started my card with a base of rich razzleberry, 4-3/4 by 9-1/2 inches folded in half. I followed that with some pale plum card stock and the DS paper is from the cottage wall pack. I used the SU "Upsy Daisy" set, stamped with rich razzleberry ink onto whisper white card stock. I matted that with more pale plum. The half circle is also pale plum and rich razzleberry. I used my nesties and an cuttlebug embossing folder on those. I used my new sizzix "Beautiful Wings" Embosslit for the butterfly with pale plum card stock. I added some crystal sticky swirls for the butterfly trail and also for the butterfly body. I added the butterfly to the top panel with a dab of glue in the middle and pulled up the wings slightly. The "upsy daisys are mounted to the base with some foam tape.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

SSSC56 Happy Valentine's Day

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY PEEPS!!!! It's Sunday so that means time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! My favorite time of the week!

Here is our sketch for the week:

I have been wanting to make one of these fun little button hearts for awhile now and this sketch was the perfect opportunity, Karen said we could change up the circle to a heart or flower or whatever, so there!!!!

My card base is kraft and I followed that with some melon mambo and then white and the DS paper is from the SAB neighbors pack. All the buttons are ones I had in my huge stash of buttons, actually I inherited a huge box of buttons from my Mom along with all I had from years ago when I worked at a shirt factory, so I do have tons!

The little flag sentiment comes from the SU "A Happy Heart" set. I hand cut it out and attached it to the button heart. I added some silver sticky rhinestones and a spiral clip with some white satin ribbon.

The buttons are glued onto the white card stock with tombow multi liquid glue. I just made the heart free-form, trying my best to make it look like a heart....UGH, that was the hardest part of this card. Do you think it looks like a heart?

Well, that is all from me today, let's see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers have for us to drool over:

Valentine Treat Holders

Good Saturday Morning Peeps!!

I have some cute little Valentine Treat Holders to share with you today. I first saw these HERE.

I made mine with kraft card stock cut to 4 inches by 11 inches and scored at 5" and
6". I ran both sides through the cuttlebug with the dot embossing folder. The stamp set I used is "A Happy Heart". I stamped the heart in real red ink onto whisper white card stock. The sentiment is stamped with black ink onto white, I hand cut out the "Flag" and attached to the heart with a mini antique copper brad. The heart is then attached to the front with some foam tape. Inside these little cuties is a box, to hold 3x3 cards and envelopes or in my case some chocolate.

Side View:

The box is made with a 3-1/2 inch by 8-3/4 inch piece of kraft card stock. It is scored at 1/4", 3-1/3", 4-1/2 inch and 7-3/4 inch. Turned and scored at 1 inch. I attached the box to the outside bag with scor-tape. Cute and fast to make!

Close-up:

After adding some strawberry cream chocolate hearts I tied some red polka dot ribbon around the handle, BTW, the handle is just the large oval punch!

Well, that is all for me today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

SFYTT Make a Wish

TGIF Peeps!!!

I am late posting today, so this will be quick and short. This card is made with Jen's Sketch For You To Try. Not sure how I feel about this one. I do love the DS paper, but it is NOT SU, it is some Imaginisce that I got at a LSS. The card stock I used is retired, blue bayou and pretty in pink. The sentiment is a rub on. So what do you think?

Thanks for coming by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Wonderful Friends

Good Thursday Morning Peeps

Today's card share is another non challenge card. I made these for some "Wonderful Friends"......what would we do without wonderful friends? I have a group of wonderful friends, we get together and stamp, we laugh, we cry, we eat and occasionally we even fight, but we are all still "Wonderful Friends"!! Love them all!

Did I tell you we laugh? We laugh so much, we are silly, it is good for the soul!

The base of the card is pretty in pink and is a 4-1/4 inch by 8-1/2 inch piece of card stock, folded in half. I followed up the pretty in pink base with very vanilla and the DS paper is from the "Sending Love" Specialty pack. I tried to keep the layers and embellies to a minimum, because they are going out in the mail. The sentiment is from the "Wonderful Favorites" set. I stamped the 'wonderful' in chocolate chip ink onto very vanilla and the 'friend' is stamped with real red ink.

I used the new edge punch from the SAB cattie and the felt flower is from the occasions mini.

Here is a group shot:

Mojo 125 Miss You

Happy Hump Day Peeps!

Today's card share is one I made for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge.

This sketch was a bit of a mind blower for me.....and I am still not sure I like what I came up with, but here it is anyway!

I started with a base of whisper white and then followed that with some taken with teal and then so saffron. The DS paper is from the Sweet Pea pack. The next layer with the circular bottom is more white that I ran through the cuttlebug with an embossing folder. I used some so saffron ribbon and used the large bird punch for the center element. I punched the bird with taken with teal and the wing is from the same DS paper that is used on the bottom. I punched the leaf with scrap of old olive card stock.

I used the curly label punch with some whisper white for the sentiment. The Sentiment comes from the "Three Little Words" set, I just used two words.....LOL!!! I added some silver rhinestones to the corners.

Well, that is all from me thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!!

MTSC60 Wishes

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card made with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge. Before moving onto the card I wanted to share some devastating news. Shannon one of the wonderful girls on Mercy's sketch team, lost her husband on Sunday. If you click on her name it will take you to her blog where so posted about him. My heart just breaks for her and her family. She has two young boys who no longer have their father, life should just not be this way. If you would like to send her a card just let me know and I can get you her address.

Now back to the sketch:

You can see that my card varies a bit from the sketch, that is what happens when I rely on my memory. I looked at the sketch and then went off to work on it and didn't print it out, so my sentiment panel overlaps the side panel, which is not how the sketch is, but it's close and will be OK I guess.

The base of the card is a 6-1/2 inch piece of melon mambo card stock folded in half. This size card will fit in the small open end envelopes that SU sells, altho with my crinkly flower I don't think this card is going into any envelope.

The DS paper is from the Sweet Pea pack and is mated with some pumpkin pie card stock. I used the scallop edge punch on the side. The sentiment comes from the "Heard from the Heart" stamp set and is stamped with black stazon onto white card stock. These crinkly flowers are very popular right now and are really fun and easy to make. I added a big ol button from my stash with some crochet thread tied through it. The leaves are from the sizzix sizzlits little leaves die and are cut with old olive card stock.

Well, that's it from me today, thanks so much for coming by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Krafty Valentine Love

Good Monday Morning Peeps!

Today's share is made with a couple of challenges in mind. First up is Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 16 and this week's challenge at Our Creative Corner.

Stacey's Color challenge this week is Kraft, very vanilla and real red the the Our Creative Corner challenge is to make a Masculine Valentine Card/Project. I thought the colors from Stacey would work well to make a masculine valentine card. I have to confess I have a really hard time with "masculine", and this card is probably NOT the most masculine you have every seen, but I did keep the "girly" down to a minimum. It is a valentine, so some "girly is expected, right? LOL!

I started the card with a base of kraft card stock and then I used very vanilla and the real red. I used the swiss dot embossing folder on the red. The heart comes from the "A Happy Heart" set and the buttons are from my stash.

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

SSSC55 You're too Kind

Good Sunday Morning Peeps! It is one of my favorite times of the week, time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Here is this weeks fun sketch:

I am still playing with the fun "A Rose is a Rose" stamp set that I borrowed from a friend. I really love these roses.

I started my card with a base of chocolate chip and followed that with some whisper white and the DS paper is from the retired Bella Rose pack. The roses are stamped with pretty in pink and riding hood red ink. The leaves are stamped with kiwi kiss and old olive ink. The large rose is stamped twice and cut out and popped up a bit with some foam tape. The sentiment is from the SAB "Whimsical Words" set. I added some piercing and mini white brads and the new scallop trim punch which is also from the SAB catalog.

Well, that is it from me, I hope you can find some time to play along with us. Come join in on the fun and create a card using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, then go to Karen's blog and link your card using Mr. Linky so all of us can see your creation!

Petal Card Die Heart Box

Good Saturday Morning Peeps!

Today I am sharing a Heart Shaped Box that I made with the sizzix Card Petal Die. When I saw this cute heart box I wanted to try one myself.

I started by cutting out two of the petal card dies with real red card stock and two with some of the DS paper from the Sending Love Speciality Paper. I cut a strip of red card stock 2-1/2inches by 5-1/2 inches and covered that with the same DS paper and then scored it at 2-3/4 inches. I cut two of the flaps of the petal die down to about 1/2 inch or so and used sticky strip to attach the front and back heart shapes to the scored strip. I used my new MS double edged punch for the handle. I used two white jumbo brads to attach the handle.

I used the "Love You Much" Stamp set to decorate the front of my heart box. I stamped and paper pieced the birds. I used some DS paper from the SAB 6x6 paper pack. I used the heart to heart punch for the small heart that is pop dotted above the birds. I used my circle and scallop circle nesties for the main image and mats. The ribbon comes from the Mistletoe pack.

Well, that is all from me today thanks so much for stopping by today and be sure to come back tomorrow for another Sweet Sunday Sketch sample.

HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Live, Laugh & Love

Hey there peeps!!!!

Today I am sharing a card that I made with three, yes count em, three challenges!!! The first one is the sketch, which I found at the Just Add Ink Blog, this is a fairly new blog as this is just their third challenge. The next is the color challenge at Pals Paper Arts The color challenge is Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink and Black, with neutrals being added at your discretion. The last one is for the Stampin Up Late Night Stampers Yahoo Group to use butterflies.

The base of my card is Melon mambo I followed that with some whisper white and the DS paper is from the Sweet Pea DS pack. The stamp set I used is "On Your Birthday" stamp set. I stamped the sentiment with black stazon and used my circle and scallop circle nesties to cut out. The two butterflies are cut with the Sizzix Bigz Beautiful Butterflies die. I cut two one in melon and one in black. I used my swirl embossing folder on both. I added some melon ribbon across the middle and added some sticky black pearls.

A Rose Is a Rose

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!!

The card I am sharing today is not made with any sketch or challenge at all........gasp, I know, but I had borrowed this set from a friend and wanted to use it so I would know if I wanted to get it myself, well I DO NEED it and I DO WANT it.......LOL!!!

I do have to tell you tho, if you don't like to use the stamp a ma jig, this set might not be for you. Also, on this card anyway, I did alot of cutting. The base of the card is chocolate chip and that is followed by some whisper white. The regal rose DS paper is from a retired hostess print pack.

I cut a top note die with whisper white to mount the flowers on. I used pretty in pink and regal rose ink for the roses. The leaves are stamped with old olive and always artichoke ink. I stamped the sentiment, from the sale-a-bration "Whimsical Words" stamp set, with regal rose ink. This would be a great "mailable" card because I didn't add any bling or ribbon, I don't think it needed it, those flowers are amazing all by themselves. I also finished the inside of the card, I usually do, with some white card stock and DS paper that matches, nothing to interesting but I thought I would show you this one:

The inside:

I left it blank to add a sentiment later or a personal message depending on how I decide to use it.

I think the roses are very "vintage" looking.....don't you?

Well, that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

MTSC59 Hello

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps! Still cold here and the snow, altho melting somewhat, is still piled high and now not so pretty!

Today I am sharing a card made with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge.

I started my card with a base of whisper white and followed that with some chocolate chip card stock. The pumpkin pie DS paper is from "Welcome Neighbor" SAB paper pad. The chocolate chip DS paper is from the retired "Good Morning Sunshine" pack. Both squares are matted with chocolate chip card stock.

The stamp set I used for the flower image is from the "Close As a Memory" set and the sentiment comes from the "Hello Again" set. For the flower I used my pumpkin pie and really rust marker to apply ink directly to the stamp. I then used my old olive marker for the stems and leaves. I stamped the sentiment with chocolate chip ink and used my small oval punch to punch it out. I mounted it the image panel with some foam tape after piercing along the bottom edge a bit. I also pierced all around the pumpkin pie BG layer. I finished by adding a some white satin ribbon onto the back square.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!!

Mojo 124 Blessings

Good Monday Morning Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card with you that was made with the sketch on the Mojo Monday Blog.

I started the card with a base of always artichoke. I followed it up with some white that I had done some scoring for the BG. I used some DS paper out of some retired hostess packs in always artichoke and so saffron. I matted each piece of the DS paper with some card stock in the same colors.

I wasn't sure where I was going to go from there. I thought about it awhile and looked through some of my stamps to find something that would fit the circle element in the sketch. I finally choose the "Herb Expression" set. I don't know my herbs that well, so I don't know what color the flower heads of this herb, Basil, should be. Probably a good thing because not knowing frees me up to use the colors I want. I stamped the herb onto some white card stock with black stazon. I first masked off the name of the herb with a bit of post-it note. I used some always artichoke and so saffron ink to color in the herb image with my aqua painter, using a light touch. I also brushed a bit of so saffron over the "Blessings". I used my circle and blossom circle nestie to cut out the image and it's mat.

I used some so saffron and always artichoke ribbon across the bottom and added three silver sticky rhinestones.

Well, that is all for me today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!
